The inside of Morty's gym is lit by soft candle light, even the lobby which is sparsely furnished with trinkets of all sorts and fresh cut flowers in low vases. Strips of ornamental paper with calligraphy line the walls, and braided shrine rope hangs over each doorway. In the gym proper, the wooden floor has been painted with chalk arranged in a broad circle, candles and little piles of salt at specific points. "Take care not to damage the lines or disturb the fires or salt... it is all delicate and important. This way."
When he at last entered the innermost circle, Morty took a seat and gestured for Muku to do the same. "Items of purification and sealing to keep out bad energies and harmful spirits. Don't mind Henge, she won't disturb us."
At the end of the room, a pair of columns with some stacked rocks on top of it, and short, stubby arms. It gives a wave and a sound of clattering rocks.

"Rii~ght." Muku says with only a casual hint of actually believing Morty. Rocks were always untrustworthy. Always.
But strange waving rock formations and geological prejudices aside, Muku was more than willing to step over the salt circles and around chalk patterns, her feet carefully trudging the path that Morty himself had tread. Gone now was any pretense that the magical world could not hurt her, a pretense that long perished with her body in the lands of the great nothing yet something. Lo, she had seen the avatar of death itself and had been humbled in it's vastness. The lesson taught, retained, and learned.
Or something like that.
Muku herself could only consciously comprehend that it was important because the magic Gym Leader said it was. And really, meetings with death avatars aside, his word was reason enough not to go breaking magic salt circles willy nilly. Taking up the seat across from Morty, she held the seemingly ancient Pokéball of Mentor between both hands, cradling it protectively.
"So. What is your plan?" Muku asks, all business as he gazes at him with sharp eyes. "I know you want to help Mentor and that you probably can do successfully... I just want to know some of the details before we begin this... Word... Thing..."

"Mentor crossed over into the Distortion World, and in so doing, lost a big piece of his identity." Morty explained in a quiet and somber tone, eyes always half lidded as though asleep. "Very, very few Pokemon come back from that. Fewer still retain a sense of self, and normalcy. Under some circumstances, humans become Pokemon in the moments of their death, if it is particularly gruesome or sad. These are unspoken laws most of the waking world doesn't like to accept." Morty considered his lap for a long moment.
"I will be honest in saying, what I will be attempting, I haven't done before. Taking communion with higher powers that they might intercede on Mentor's behalf. Restoring at least some of what he lost, returning that sense of self to him. We will be doing it via a Seance to call to what was lost, and what keeps it. Are you fully prepared?"

"No." She says, closing her eyes with grim finality.
Of course she wasn't ready. This was weird and not what she was expecting. She was hoping that Morty was just going to wave his hands or grant some insight in this weird situation with Mentor that would just magically make him feel better. She wanted Mentor better. Needed him better. He was a friend, a partner. if there was a risk involved here that she wasn't seeing, then maybe it could mean the end for him. Maybe the dead would take him back or worse. She couldn't imagine worse.
Yet.
He was suffering. She could tell in how sad in distant his eyes looked, how clouded his memories were becoming. This wasn't a time to succumb to fear. Mentor needed; if not deserved a connection to what made Mentor, Mentor. And so...
"No. I'm not ready... But since this needs to be done, then I will make myself ready." She continues, eyes opening with determination. "Perform the Seance."

With Mentor sitting in the middle of the circles of salt, Morty chanted softly in the low lighting. Each concurrent ring rose from the floor in clouds and rings of dust, drawing in tight around the bird. The gym leader began to sweat, the rhythmic words and patterns growing labored and beginning to sound forced. The sound of branches crackling and groaning under stress caught Muku's sharp hearing, and even in the dim lighting the growing rents in the floor of the gym were clear. Hellish red light shafted its way into the room as these splits widened. Morty's knuckles were white where he gripped his knees, and the gym leader reacted to none of it.
The room rotted away, cascaded off of the relative bubble of safety, revealing a space Muku recognized all too well. The Lord of the Dead towered over their small platform, clearly incensed now. With a roar that threatened to shake Muku's being apart, it was clear she would finally have her chance to fight the being she had thought so earnestly on before.
(Morty has 3 Health Bars, and is on a 9x9 patch of solid ground at it's very center. The rest is open air terrain, and losing consciousness/falling into the gap is most certainly death. If Morty loses consciousness, the event is failed. Giratina (Normal Form) has an initiative of 30. At the top of the round, it summons a Dragopult.)
Spirits coalesce into a mass at the towering legend's shoulder, forming a lithe, spindly reptilian creature with a see-through spindly tail.

In a flash, Muku's Talons are out, their cerulean sheen shining in the darkening field of battle. So, this was a Seance? More like a nightmare. Giratina was the very last creature that she wanted to meet here. Still. This was the real world. Not his world. Maybe here she could hold him back. Defeat him. The girl, defiant. "I'm not interested in fighting. Don't make me take you down." Muku hisses, rising up and placing her back to Morty's. Her eyes peer out from beneath her hat, daring Giratina to challenge her. Her blades for their part harden themselves for the combat ahead and hone their edge. Much damage would need to be done this day, but defending Morty was more important. Muku acts on 20, Talon acts on 4.

Imperiously, the Lord of the Dead drew back with a guttural sound that shook the very foundations of Muku's body. The sensation of her bones physically rattling inside of her deeply unsettling. Regal Challenge Activated. Defiance or Deference? Meteors wreathed in blue-black fire ripple through the hellscape beyond the safety of Morty's circle.
D-Day Activated [Weather], Ghost Type Moves gain +5 Damage. Draco Meteor now only lowers Sp.A -1 CS, Dark Pulse, Meteor Mash Effect Range +2, Earthquake now inflicts -1 Spe CS, Blizzard, Hurricane, Inferno, and Thunder gain +2 ACC. Fairy Type Moves -5 Damage.
The spectral dragon at Giratina's side bellows, wreathing itself in power, before making a pass over Muku, it, and two smaller reptiles on its head firing volleys of those same stones along the ground and across Muku and the adjoining spaces (should her partner be due adjacent).

Unmoving, Muku manages the impossible; showing both confused deference and defiance. Was she bowing her head and body? Yes. Was she looking at Giratina nicely? Absolutely not. Her eyes leer imposingly at Giratina as they continue their strange staring contest amidst the heat of a pitched battle. Pitched, as while Muku found herself bowing politely, Talon launches up behind her and takes a pair of ghastly swipes at the rocketeer dragon. Meteors slamming around her, there was only really one question on her mind. Did she look cool? She really wanted to look cool in front of the death entity and Morty. It was important to her. Muku chooses Deference. Bereft of the ability to move, she will instead use Leer, ideally catching both Giratina and Dragapult if possible, tho it's doubtful they are THAT close.
Leer! AC 2 - V|hwEFxq1d20 - Lower Def by 1 Stage to Giratina, maybe Dragapult.

Dragapult takes the slash, ichor spattering the platform as it rounds for a kamikaze run, its form fluttering in multiple points in space before vanishing entirely. Dragapult uses Phantom Force.
Giratina emits another bellow, another bundle of souls gathering at the edge of Muku's platform, a small reptoid creature bearing a bone coated in fire on both ends drawing itself up and out of the wooden floor, leaving scorch marks in its wake. The Legendary follows it by cocking its head, brilliant yellow light gathering in its maw. The beam that followed dwarfed the creature itself, and the platform.
A wall of salt burst from the ground ahead of Morty, Henge waddling to the fore. (Giratina uses Hyper Beam, Henge uses Wide Guard)

Muku bracing, prepared for her annihilation... Was pleasantly surprised to still be in existence after such a terrifying, roiling blow. Her eyes dart back to her monolithic protecter, the being Henge, whose wall had so ably protected her moments before. Great. Now she was going to have to confront her rock biases too. Still. Now that Giratina was willing to strike against her, any reservations she had about entering the fray personally could be set aside. Her first target; given the sudden lack of a certain monster firing children at them, would need to be the little guy. In tandem with Talon, she rushes forward to deliver some blows upon the newcomer, sweeping both sword and body with inhuman grace. Muku uses Burst of Speed to gain another turn at 10 and attacks Marowak twice.

Muku's diving kick into Talon's followup is too much for the forming creature, but as the blade splits it into so much shadowstuff, the creature clings to Talon even as it's form discorporates. (Cursed Body Activates, Shadow Sneak is Disabled. The dragon-thing returns from nowhere, biting into Talon for 48 Ghost Physical.
Giratina takes a turn to rest, considering the pillars of rock with great loathing. Another spiritual eddy, this time gathering into a small gremlin-esque form with gem-like eyes and wedge shaped teeth.

A regretful meal for the twin blades as they sup upon the residual energies that once made a Marowak a Marowak. Talon was stronger for having dealt the finishing blow, but in turn lost a great tool for this battle, lethargy hitting them in spades as their ability to connect with their phantom self dissipates temporarily. Still! They were swords, and swords were made for cutting. As soon as the ghost appears back out of the void, Muku springs into action in order to attempt to bring down the astral interloper. Henge is good. Giratina having eyes on Henge was not. She needed to get Giratina's attention back on her. Better her to take a hit than the Henge. Once this foe is down then... She didn't like thinking about then. But it is what she had to do. Muku moves to try to hit Dragapult with Acrobatics!

Muku's acrobatic strike is enough to down the weakened dragon, its passing sapping greatly at her strength (-2 ATK CS, Haunting Curse) but Talon's blades don't manage to find purchase on Giratina's hide.
Still, the insult had been delivered. The dragon arched its neck backwards and considered Talon with great contempt. The plates that framed its face drew back, exposing a toothy maw which became a well of raw darkness. With enough force that GIratina's head recoiled from the shot, an ovoid of vantablack energy whipped and arced through the air towards Talon.
(Dark Pulse is 12 Vs. Talon for 99 Dark Special Damage)
Sableye at the bottom of the round uses Reflect, and at the top of the round uses Light Screen as priority, then stutters out of existence (Ghost Step).
Henge fills the air around Morty with floating pointed stones.

Not being a ghost is strange sensation for Talon. Sometimes, it's not all that great. But it is nice for times like this. The blade stands firm against an attack that would have easily downed them before, their strength enough to continue on with one more swing. Meanwhile, Muku recognizes that she couldn't take too many hits head on. This body of hers was tough, but she needed it to be tougher. More ripped. More survivable. Taking a page out of Chuck's book, Muku takes up her arms and flexes mightily; not really accomplishing anything but looking really cool as she absolutely dunks on Giratina's continued existence in the world. Oh yeaaah. Muku uses Slack Off!~ It sets her HP back to full.

Giratina turns the heavy plates of its face into the blow and butts Talon away with the faintest of scratches, the barriers of light its creation had built serving a tremendous help against Talon's blows. Henge pulls a clump of what looks like salt off of itself, and hurls it at the dragon, which makes more effort to avoid this then it has much else. Calling up clumps of stone from the air itself, Giratina hammers Henge, recognizing that the man who prays is being kept behind it. After the blow lands, the Garglnacl isn't looking very well.
Sableye returns with a vengeance, attacking Talon with Shadow Sneak. 42 Ghost Physical.

"Hang in there!" Muku calls out to Henge. Talon flails in her arms, rebuffing the Sableye's comparatively feeble strikes with impatience. A good kind of impatience Muku thought. If Giratina's focus was on Morty, then she needed that to change much more than she needed to knock out the Sableye. Muku lashes out with a quick, encompassing strike of her leg, sweeping it up with the force of the wind. Emboldened by hope, perhaps that would create a bit more an entrance to force this abyssal worm to pay more attention to her and Talon when they cut open his belly! Muku uses Aerial Ace to hit automagically and Mettle on hit to lower Giratina's Defence by a stage.
Talon uses Dual Wingbeat to strike Giratina when they've been modestly weakened!

Once more Muku's attacks hardly dent the god of Antimatter, though Talon's blow does get its attention. Even with a softening of its defenses, the divine power that it steadily pulses with continues to awe and overwhelm. With a tilt of its head, it focuses all of its attention on Sableye.

A sliver of energy is what holds Talon to the waking realm, the pair of blades just barely still animate within Muku's hands. Just about anything could probably knock them out. But they were not in fact, 'out'. Muku takes a stance before swinging the blades wide, tearing into Giratina one last time before releasing the blades to their likely inevitable fate. Talon was going to fall soon; not an if, but a when. But Muku could be ready. With a flick of her wrist, she sends out the one creature who could clearly match this Giratina blow for blow... Whoopie Goldsire! Muku will go ahead and spend her shift early to send out Whoopie Goldsire, probably not in immediate bop range, but ya know. It happens. Her standard will be spent giving Talon Focused Orders.
Talon, will attempt an Iron Head aiming at Giratina!

Talon impacts those grand horns once more, forcing Giratina to lean forward just-so, the blow thundered through the empty space before Sableye finished off the sword by darting through the shadows once more. A puff of ash and dust rolled free under the golden guard over the god's face. It considered Muku and the Quagsire, and began to inhale long and slow, a nimbus building around it. (Goes Last this turn.)

"Here go Whoopie, shake them down!" Muku commands, breaking out into a sprint as she recalls Talon. Her body twists, taking to the air as the cold embrace of the dread captain embodies her. Meanwhile, Whoopie charges forth, implacable in the face of the avatar of destruction. She flomphs majestically, her plump form soaring through the air. Whoopie Goldsire should be afraid. She has every reason to know fear as she faces down death. But like all Quagsire, she is unaware, blissfully so. With a majestic twist, she slams her tail down into the wooden boards suspended above the abyss, air and reason crackling beneath her mighty guise. She is Quag. Hear her cry. Muku is going to use Multitasking to take two actions this round. Her shift is spent on recalling Talon, her first action being taken to Dash. Second Action will be used to give Whoopie Brutal Orders. Muku will go Ghostly with Trick-Or-Treat, and retreat modestly skyward, and away.
Whoopie will use Earthquake, which will drop all Pokémon 1 Speed Stage if it hits them. She is Unaware, so opponents will act as if they do not have any stage changes for all the good and bad that does in this moment.
