"We've got a sleeper sofa. I'd offer you the bed, but Chuck is going to need all the rest he can get tonight, and the couch has never been all that comfortable. Did you want me to turn down the sheets for you, Muku?". Miranda asked, touching the girl's shoulder.
"Mira I'm not that bad off." "Don't you Mira me, you are so. It is a wonder you walked her under your own power.". She pecked at him.

"The sofa is fine. A bed is a bed." Muku says with a shrug. She opens her mouth to mention something about Rat being warm and cuddly, but then remembers that Rat was currently laid up getting treated for injuries. Well. There was always... Mmip? Sure. Maybe.
At the end of the night, she turns in to wait for morning without much of a fuss. Too tired to really do much else.

Mmip makes an alright pillow, the Pokemon quieting and stilling when Muku can finally get him to stop jumping around. She is warm and fairly comfortable through the evening, though the distant crash of thunder carries with it troubling dreams of a boat lost at sea, and fighting on a razor's edge for survival.
The morning brings with it the clatter of dishes. Chuck donning a shirt just long enough to have breakfast before removing it and disappearing into the rain. Miranda sends him out the door with one of the pots of food she had made the night before to drop off at a communal building in town.

Filled with food and spirit, Muku's up with the sun. Sleep was disturbed, but mercifully uneventful. Funny how hard it could be to sleep when you're exhausted. Worries had their ways of keeping one awake. Throwing her coat around herself, she braces before the outpouring sky with a heavy sigh. "Ok. I'm going to try to be back tonight, but if I'm not, assume I'm fighting birds or something." She calls out.
And like that, she was gone.
Rat would need a bit more time with the nurse to keep his injuries from becoming too heavy. That was ok. She wouldn't want him to get hurt regardless. There was a good chance of combat today. But hopefully, not yet.
Bracing against the wind, she makes her way to the training grounds of the local Fighting-Type Pokémon. If she was in luck, the tall, lanky white one with the blades for arms would be there.

The climb was more difficult. Why did wet make the world all slick and uncomfortable? Muku made it by late morning ish. Probably. The clouds made it so dark it might be night, but Ironfist Hill yet remained where it had been before. Rain had not dampened the fighting spirit of the assembled, and Muku received several bows on arrival. A sign they were willing to be vulnerable with, and respected the girl. The Gallade sat proud where it had before, eyes closed, water running off of its body.

Having arrived at her destination. Muku moves to drop down to one knee before thinking better of it. The grass here was soaked through with the damp wet, her shoes already moist and failing from the journey. It wouldn't do to coat her knees in muck and mud as well. "Hey." She calls out. "I've got a favor to ask of you. How much do you know about things going on? Do you talk to mooch birds?"

"Only that the rains are not natural.". It replies in Muku's brain space, sharp eyes fixating on her as she ascends the hill. "What would you ask of us?". He stood as she arrived, considering her strange choice of garb.

"Cianwood needs help." She starts, wasting no time on frivolities. "The humans there are trying their best, but eventually the ocean is going to overtake their town. This rain; it's gonna stop unless I help make it stop. So I'm working on that. But they've been good to me, and I don't want to see them lose everything."

"... You who have fought with our greatest, who comes as a friend. We will honor this request.". The Gallade threw his arms wide. "My friends! Our strength is needed by the shore! Our opponent is the ocean itself! Raise your voices in chorus!"
Barrel chests filled with wet air, and a communal shout echoed through the wood. Gutteral, deep, powerful. The stomp of powerful legs, the slap of hands against the backs before them, a percussive chorus of heroism and force as the march against the sea began.

"Huh. I really probably should have told Chuck they were coming." Muku thinks aloud, caught off guard about just how little convincing that this endeavor took. Reason catches ahold of her before they get too far. She dashes up to the Gallade. "Actually, like wait. Maybe you ought to let him know first, since you can like. Communicate. Chuck's this big guy. Shirtless. Brown hair. Maybe a bit out of shape, while still somehow fit and strong. Might be around a four-armed Fighting Type named the Gunshow. I think you'll jive. Work with him, and I think you'll be able to get stuff done right. Preferably without any other humans getting the wrong idea."

"Your hesitation is noted, and our actions will speak for us. Gunshow has stood among us before. Word of warning will be given.". The march continued. The strongest called for the bout of an age. "Crushing Wings! Wing-Chun!". A purple feline with sleeve-like drapes hanging from its forelegs, and a red and white bird with a green mask appeared before Muku and the Gallade. "Go and warn the old human that comes to us, that we come in his time of need."
With a bow, and a kneel respectively, the two darted into the woods.

Muku nods before giving a quick salute. "Ok. I'll leave you to that then. I need to go caving; have to find a Rock-Type that is modestly vindictive against birds. Don't suppose you know where Shattered Cave is from here, right?"

"...". The Gallade considered for a moment before gesturing north. "Follow the shore until the rocks turn gray and black. Granite is some of the hardest and they like it the best."
Following the instructions, the wood grew sparse and the stones piled higher and higher. Shattered Crag was a mountainous cliff face with only the smallest cave near its apex.

Muku's eyes scanned the horizon. Rocks, rocks, everywhere. But not a single Rock-Type Pokémon to be be found. She couldn't blame them really. This whole weather thing just kinda sucked. If she had any choice in the matter, she would be perched up in something warm eating or drinking something even warmer. Like raw flesh of the greeeeeen worms.
Well. No time like the present. Reaching down to her belt, she pulls out Talon, their twin metal casings clanging together ominously as they found their way to her back. A safeguard. If she were to fall on this long, long climb, she would at least fall safely and in style.
Somewhere up above, there were going to be some rocks hiding in a cave. She was going to have to speak to those rocks. Maybe battle one. That was a sure-fire bet. If she had learned anything from being a Pokémon, it's that everyone loves a winner. Common sense really.

Descending into Shattered Crag, ruddy red light bleeds through crystals that make up a large portion of the ceiling here, casting enough for the girl to pick along her footing. The scrape of stone on stone was a common enough sound here. Shadows shifted and ambled. Her challenged went unanswered and her footsteps unperturbed. Far below, a reddish orange light awoken and pulsed, promising light and heat.

Descending into the dark, Muku felt... Angry.
Like seriously? They couldn't like, wait at the mouth of the cave?! Why were they making her go so deep into the earth! Starly were not meant for such depths! She passes a hand across Talon to soothe herself. It's not like she hadn't caves before. Like yesterday even. Still, only now devoid of a distinct purpose and reason did she feel angry at caving. She didn't HAVE to pick up another partner. There was nothing stopping her from just, turning around, going back to town, maybe lifting some boxes or whatever those humans do.
She could even go hunt down that cat thing again, just in case it was beating up Starly.
But no. Any edge in a fight against her coming foe was important. And so, she descends. Towards the heat. Towards the fire. Towards, literally the only thing she could ACTUALLY see in this cave.
...What an awful cave.

A small stone sphere, red with yellow spots and lengthy stone fins jutting out at nine points squints balefully at Muku as she reached the bottom of Shattered Crag. Even the eyes were strange, black sclera with small red pupils. There was enough light coming off of it to see by. Heavy breathing nearby caught the girl's ear. Flat bugs with flat rocks on them shifted about down here. Blue eyes, so bright against the darkness they were unnerving, watched Muku from a point on high. The slap of water echoed nearby.

Rock-bugs. The forbidden treat. Beneath the stone, a flesh so sweet.
If only she still had the taste for it. Or the time. More the time, probably. But where was that coming from? Did water exist all the way beneath the earth? When did that happen? Who put the water in the ground? Why did they do it?! It was beyond her. What was not beyond her, was the weird rock thing in front of her. This creature was the only thing in the cave she could see clearly.
She kneels down a few feet away and stares the rock down. There wasn't much more room on her team. She had to be dead certain about what partner she wanted to recruit. Was this one strong enough?

When Muku didn't immediately attack, the floating sun seemed to lose interest and began to wander in dead silence, casting the same judgemental stare at anything foolish enough to stand in its light. The blue-eyed creature is revealed to be a hunkered armored reptile of some kind, with layered steel plates along its back. The light catches the end of a beak like maw. Something primordial and toothed, before the light moves on an away.

Her eyes glancing about the dark, her eyes manage to keep returning to that visage of an angry, tired sun. There hadn't been light, real sunlight for about two days now. Would that make a sun Pokémon angry? She cocks an eyebrow to consider this. Well. It was shaped like the sun. It looked grumpy as all get out. Yeah, she was willing to take a wild guess that it was probably just a little miffed about the whole situation.
Now. It didn't seem to be an overly powerful Pokémon. If she was looking for that, she could probably look somewhere else deeper in the cave and be just fine. But by bird logic, something with a grudge could be useful if that grudge was pointed in the right direction. "I suppose, I should talk to it." She thinks to herself.
"Hey. Hey. Sunstone. You want to see the rain stop as soon as possible, right? I need you to introduce me to the strongest Rock-Type Pokémon in this cave. With their help, I might be able to do something about the rain that just keeps coming and won't stop coming."
