Zach looks to Adri, having stood up to put away his fishing rod. Perhaps he'd have more luck next time they were near a body of water. He nodded, grinning. "Yeah, I'm gonna join one! I was wondering if you could groom Evelyn for me? You're better at it than me, after all. Plus, I heard there's going to be a market place and I wanted to try my luck..."

Adri looks pensive for a moment
"I might have the time so, why not? But only if you give me some food for Geoff in exchange"

Zach's grin becomes wider as he pulls a jar of baby food out and holds it towards Adri. "I thought you might want that, so I whipped one up in advance. Would you like her now, or in a bit?"

Adri grabs the food and pockets it.
"I'd rather get her now. I want to get the training out of the way so I can go to the market, and I always groom after training"

Zach nods and hands her Evelyn's pokeball. "Makes sense. Sorry to have kept you. I'll see you at the Market before the contest? Lemme know if anything interesting happens!" He grins and finishes packing up, walking with Cass and Luca to the market, barring any further obstructions, with intent to make a lot of money.

Adri gives Geoff the food and then proceeds to train Geoff, Illyana, Gaia, Cormag and Irm. At the end of the hour she rounds them up and grooms the five before releasing Evelyn and giving her a good grooming so her pelt looked soft and shiny.
After finishing she went back into the pokecenter and modified her team so that it it was Aeron, Geoff, Gaia, Cormag, Tyrell and Illyana before heading for the town market.

Alex manages to set up a small stand, and begins calling over customers, selling the Baby Food and Candy Bars for 75 each, and the more complex recipes for 150 each. He won't start cooking UNTIL someone shows interest, unless he gets hungry or needs to give a demonstration. Charm roll to draw customers. HOUR ONE. tsRf5sW74d6

Adri hands Zach Evelyn's pokeball and then sets up a hand-drawn sign reading "Adri and Aeron's Grooming Stand! We do custom sketches too! with cutesy drawings of herself and her Zorua. Below there's a smaller sign that states grooming is 450 pokedollars and sketches cost 25 pokedollars. She pulls out her sketchpad and starts drawing as she waits for anyone to show interest. With little to display, Zach's stand fails to attract any customers. Adri's, on the other hand, attracts DLTAed|U2d6 customers over the two hours, d6 of whom also purchase sketches.2d6·d6

Two women are walking by, and you can hear them discussing going to one of the breeders for their services. They notice your stand though, and not only the good price but the chance to get a sketch done to. They are fairly impressed with the quality of sketch you are doing of the shiny, well groomed Aeron, and both pay you to look after their Growlithe and Vulpix, and to sketch each.
A short time later a hiker comes sauntering through. "Alrigh' Shiela. Me Bruce here got all muddy rollout-ing through the mud. Mind giving 'em the ol' spit shine? I've got a few dollaree-doos for you." He releases an extremely muddy Spheal, and a only slightly less muddy Poliwag. "Bruce and Bruce, you two behave." He slaps down 900 dollaree-doos and leaves them in your care.
After another 20 minutes a woman in a red dress comes along. "I was going to groom him myself but I really like those sketches, could you groom my Splashy here?" She leaves a Lotad in your care.
As you're finishing up grooming the Growlithe and Vulpix, a teenager with a green top and a camera hanging from his neck comes by. "My friend mentioned seeing you here, could you groom my Smeargle? And I'd love a sketch of him too. I'm sure little Picasso would love it as well."
The women come by and collect their now shiny fire types not too much later. One of the other stall owners approaches. Their stall seems to be selling clothing and scarves. She asks you to groom her Murkrow, Raven. "Oh, and I'd love one of those sketches too."
Some kind of jester approaches next. "Be careful of the mushrooms between here and Lawngreen. They cause all kinds of mess. Can you wash the spores off of my Slakoth?" He releases a Slakoth and puts down some money. The hiker comes back then. "G'day Max. Gettin' cleaned up too?" He collects his Pokémon and heads off with the jester.
A teenage boy runs up and asks you to look after his Lillipup, then runs off. A teenage girl runs past you after him yelling "Why won't you love me!"
Thomas comes up and asks if you could make Alex extra shiny. His mum leaves money there for a groom and a sketch then heads back for her own stall.
The last patron arrives in the form of a rider who stomps up on her Ponyta, dismounts and she asks you to give him a pat down while she shops.

Adri was floored by the response she got, and blushed hard when she saw so many people praise her drawing skills. She gladly accepted all the requests she was given and promptly started working in the pokemon by order of arrival. She'd release her own pokemon to give them time to stretch their limbs as she worked.
She didn't mind the amount of requests at all. Grooming was something she liked doing, and drawing was one of her favorite ways to pass time. She had a lot of fun grooming all the different pokemon.
As expected for a Growlithe, the excitable canine pokemon didn't like to sit still. Yet after a couple minutes of struggling and some illusion work by Aeron the Growlithe finally fell to Adri's A-rank grooming skills and was left quite relaxed and with a shiny and well brushed coat.
The Vulpix was an absolute darling to work with. Adri was very happy to be able to take care of one of the elegant canines and did her absolute best to make sure it drew in all the attention it's breed deserved. Vulpix stayed very still and calm, and had a smug look the entire time as if saying that was how one of its breed was supposed to be treated. At the end the Vulpix practically glowed with how relaxed and just regal it looked.
Sometime in the past hour Adri had released Tyrell, and the batlike wyvern had claimed his usual spot atop Adri's head. Seeing the girl Bite her lower lip in concentration as she sketched the two canines while the Noibat lazed around on her head made for quite a cute picture.
The hiker that dropped by afterwards made Adri laugh a lot. He seemed to insist on calling her Shiela, but she took it in stride and just ran with the man's particular personality. He released a pair of very middy Spheal and Poliwag which were apparently both called Bruce. Her mind labeled them as Bruceal and Brucewag from then on. She briefly wondered if the hiker had a Geodude in his team before getting to work.
Him having a Geodude would be so fitting, though.
Grooming the two water types obviously involved tons of water and a good deal of laughter. She had recalled her pokemon so they wouldn't ruin their grooming, and although her legs were very wet by the end of the cleaning she didn't care. The two water types were left sparkling clean and she had fun. All in a good day's work.
After she pokeballed the two troublemakers and started drying herself she gto her next request. Splashy the Lotad was thankfully a lot more calm than the past two, so she got through the grooming a lot faster. She started having Cormag teleport and get her any extra materials she'd need from her stand, since the Abra was quite intelligent and more than able of following a simple "fetch" command. She sketched the Lotad mid water sport to add some dynamism to the picture.
Soon enough another customer dropped by, and he just so happened to have a Smeargle of all things! Adri was absolutely delighted since Smeargle was one of the first pokemon she had learned to groom well. Her dad had one after all. She carefully groomed the artist pokemon (bring very careful to not ruin it's tail color because honestly that would be like someone stealing her favorite pencil) and set up a small canvas for the Smeargle to paint so she could get a sketch of the Smeargle painting.
Soon enough another shopkeeper dropped off his Murkrow for a pat. Adri made a mental note to check his stand later before getting to the task. Again, a pokemon she knew and loved since Honchkrow was a staple of her mother's combat team. She made sure to highlight the bird's color and to clean those pesky spots under the feathers that most bird types were always scratching. She opted for a more simple, slice-of-life sketch of the Murkrow pecking on some seeds this time.
Releasing Gaia for some company she got to the next customer, a Slakoth. It was very easy simply because the Slakoth had no problem staying still at all. It just... laid there. Unmoving. It was a tad unnerving, to be honest. It didn't even make any sounds.
Following with the Lillipup she allowed herself to wonder why boys were so dense. Then again she did think the girl was being a tad too forward.
Just a tad.
Working with canines was always a pleasure since they really liked getting brushed. She eventually finished with the Lillipup, still not sure if it was even possible to get their hairs to lie flat.
She smiled at Thomas and Julie, glad to see the two again. She groomed Alex to the best of her abilities, again making sure to get all those itchy spots under the feathers and where the beak didn't reach.
The Ponyta was a great change of pace since it was far bigger than her and as such grooming it was very different from the other Pokemon. She made sure to brush the pelt carefully and work out any knots while staying unburnt. Not easy when you have a fiery mane, but she managed.
Two hours and 4650 pokedollars (or 'dollaree-doos', she guessed) later Adri took down her stand and stretched, more than happy with how the day had gone until then. She decided to tour the stores next.
She had new spending money after all!

Danny spends some time tuning and practicing his guitar. He lets out his active team of Pokemon and allows them to wrestle and play while he does so, every so often chiming in with ways they could potentially work a few more bits of showmanship into their attacks. He remembers, vaguely, of someone saying something about Pokemon Contests which gets his attention. But for what is possibly the first time in his life, he decides discretion is the better part of valor, at least until he is sure he knows how these things work. He makes a mental note to go watch a few of the contests and see what he would be getting himself into for sure.
While practicing his guitar he watches as Adri grooms and sketches a number of Pokemon. One in particular grabs his attention, a Growlithe. The majesty of the dog is not wasted on him, and the moment Adri finishes Danny walks over to its trainer and introduces himself.
Hi there. I'm Danny Sexbang. The lovely lady that just mde your day is my team mate and best friend. He lowers his voice so not even with her demon hearing would she catch the next line. Possibly even girlfriend. We're still figuring that one out. He clears his throat before continuing. That said, I am absolutely entranced by your Growlithe. It looked absolutely wonderful, and I was wondering if perhaps there were any way you would be willing to trade it? Barring that, if you would at least be willing to tell me where you captured it?

The market stalls had a mixture of clothing, especially contest-wear, and food. There was of course a mart not far with most ordinary supplies, but the market was where all the freshest produce was sold. There is a stall of a man claiming to own the apiary at the edge of town, with rows upon rows of Honey sitting in jars in front of him. The stall owner who had stopped by earlier had a selection of Adorable and Slick clothing, several different kinds of glasses and goggles, some very warm looking coats and bands and sashes that would look good in a fight. Julie is also selling some nice scarves and knitwear that are similarly stylish, most of which are Rad or Elegant. Another stall has a selection of Razz, Bluk, Nanab, Wepear, Pinap or Sitrus berries And there is also a jam stall with a selection of Cheri, Chesto, Pecha, Rawst, Aspear, Oran or Persim Jams. Other stalls have small mushrooms or general fresh ingredients.
Adri could also check out the Pokémart if she wished, but there is nice selection of goods here. There are also Pokémon breeders set up in the town, in more permanent locations than these stalls. The smell of freshly baked goods also drifts occasionally through the air from the bakery.

Zach sighs and packs up his sign, moving away from the stall. Two hours and not a single customer... He supposed his pitch was to blame. He wasn't that well known yet, he couldn't expect people to line up for nothing. Unfortunately, with a little less than 300 to his name, he couldn't really browse the shops. He considered sending out Liz to grab some honey, but was worried about leaving her unattended again, after the poacher incident yesterday. Absently, his hand went into his pocket, looking for his knife. Putting his hand around the hilt always made him feel better, but instead he found the Fire Stone that Liz had brought him earlier. Where had she found it? Was there a vein nearby? He supposed he'd find out later, if it was important. He held it up to the light, marvelling at it. With just a touch, Evelyn would turn into a Flareon... He quickly took out a jar and stuffed the stone into it, not wanting an accidental evolution while he slept. Worst case he could sell it later. They probably fetched a good price...
He had gotten Evelyn's ball back from Adri a little while ago, and didn't want to mess up her grooming job with his usual playfulness... So he merely tapped it on his belt to confirm it was there as he headed into the Contest Hall. Maybe he'd watch one to get a feel for it...

The woman is surprised to see a trainer after her old companion. "Oh I couldn't possibly part with Saffron! I might be able to remember where I got him hmmm." She seems to spend a while thinking. "Oh yes! I caught it over on Route 1. There were a lot of bushes there and some seemed to be living there, but I just haaad to have the little darling."

Conner felt good after his jog and returns all of his team except Blitz, who he has simply walk next to him as he goes off to peruse the market. While he has no plans to actually buy anything he figures its a good way to spend time until the contest.

Danny, excited for his lead on where to obtain a Growlithe, forgets he was going to watch a contest and decides to just go for it. He lets Ninja Brian out of his Pokeball and the two head to the contest facility.
I'd like to sign Ninja Brian up for a Tough Contest. Post haste!

As it gets time for the contests, everyone splits up. Since Adri isn't in a contest she's free to do as she likes during them.Danny of course gets wrapped up in his own contest, at least for the first hour. That just leaves Zach and Conner. After preparations or just watching Danny, it comes time for their contest. As they wait backstage with the other competitors, none of whom have their Pokémon out just yet, the announcer comes on. Contest Theme Music"Welcome ladies and gentlemen to this morning's special event. That's right, the RAINBOW CONTEST!" the crowd applauses, it seems this contest is the biggest deal here. "Get ready to see Cute Pokémon, Tough Pokémon, Cool Pokémon, Smart Pokémon and of course B-E-A-UTIFUL Pokémon!" The crowd eat up this guys Jim Carrey impression. "Without further ado, lets hav our contestants introduce themselves!" The announcer introduces: "Representing all things Tough, the Buff Builder: Desmond!" A construction worker walks to the center of the stage to a few cheers in full construction gear, hard hat and all. Under his right arm he is casually carrying 3 cinderblocks. He takes up a serious stance and then brings the cinderblocks, held up by his right hand forward. Bouncing the hand upward the first block is tossed into his other hand, where it's suddenly flung upward again. He begins to juggle the cinderblocks! "Hyuck hyuck hyuck. You probably know me from the construction around town." Between the grunts as he juggles, he address the crowd. After this line he adds a Pokéball to his juggling. "Hyuck hyuck hyuck hycuk. "Well this here is my partner Matheus." After he says this he lets the ball fall forward and replaces it by now also juggling his hard hat. The ball releases a Timburr that immediately poses with his log held over his shoulders. "Hyuck hyuck hyuck hyuck. And we're here to show you..." With each "hyuck" he first send the cinderblocks flying forward, and then his hard hat flying upward. The first cinderblock land with an impressive thunk in front of the Timburr. The next two land with the heavy smacks of cinderblock on cinderblock. The timburr raises its log high and brings it slamming down, end first onto the blocks. Desmond wipes his brow with his right arm and then brings his left fist up as his hard hat lands back on his head. He triumphantly finishes: "... how tough us builders are!!!" as the cinderblocks are reduced to rubble under Timburrs rock smash. An attendant sweeps away the rubble as the man steps back to the applause of the crowd. Desmond uses Juggling show and rolls Intimidate 5GZ_Uhne5d6 5d6
