Radiant hits the colossus once again, seeming to slowly start to wear it down a little bit. Unfortunately, the rest of the team doesn't seem to be on quite as beak performance. The newly appeared Lowe is knocked around by the tail of the two-headed dragon, while Silas and Gus aren't able to really hit their targets. Even Aegis, striking true with a crackling leg, isn't able to do much more than swat down several letters. Meanwhile, the colossus pulls back its fist, the central core beginning to shine brighter as it seems to concentrate. Radiant hits Golurk. Silas misses with his Pester Ball. Gus misses with Fury Cutter. Lowe takes 41 damage from Dragon Tail, and is pushed 3m. Aegis hits U3 with Thunder Punch. Golurk readies Focus Punch... Map

The shock had jolted Blake back, leaving him leaning against the slab behind him. Fights weren't all fun and games, he knew that. But still. Ow. At least the jellyfish wasn't aiding the giant in an indirect manner anymore. Speaking of, the giant was beginning to glow in a most dangerous way. He should maybe try and take care of that. A flashing smile springs to his face, directed at colossus. He blows an enticing kiss. Perhaps the giant could be wooed. Or at least distracted from doing whatever it was doing. An unsightly glow emanating from the giant's core, even while that dragon encroached spelled bad news all around. Or, in other words, " Aegis, wait for our signal and then rush the portal. Ignore every enemy in the way and destroy it. Lowe, get that dragon out of his way." were Thoron's commands... They could deal with the fallout afterwards. Lowe, carefully advancing away from the elemental swarm at his back, made to advance and respond to the much larger dragon in kind. Namely, charging into it in a desperate tackle. As soon as the Luxio had attacked, Thoron gave a universal signal of " Now!" Thoron activates Commander's Voice (Standard) to use two Orders. Order 1: Focused Orders. Activating Battle Conductor (Swift) to apply Focused Orders to Lowe, Aegis and one other ally. Order 2: Dazzling Dervish on Lowe.
Lowe disengages to I16 and uses Tackle on Two-headed-two-colored-pushy-dragon. AC2 - 7Fs93L6T1d20+3 (Focused Orders, training and spending AP) DB5 - 1d8+25 Physical Normal damage, Push 2 (-5 damage from Capricious Whirl)

At Thoron's signal, Aegis shoots forwards, raising a steel arm, and smashing it down on the wall. There's a lot of give, as the wall begins to buckle, but it's at an angle that's a little bit awkward. It looks like it'll take another try or two to finally bring it down. While Lowe's attack pushes the dragon backwards, it doesn't seem to scathe the beast very much - just a few scratches. It probably needs to be hit harder than that for any significant damage at this rate... Blake's actions seem to draw the giant's attention... it seems unsure of why the little human isn't running away. That would probably be the smart thing to do, after all. Meanwhile, the letters begin to emanate energy again. Gus has a crackling burst of plant-killing chill washing over him, leaving him covered with a light layer of frost as an after effect. Silas, Radiant, and the colossus are far more fortunate, the energy from those letters just causing a slight tingle. The Jellyfish encroaches on Blake as he leans against the wall, firing a pulse of energy at him from one of its tentacles. Where it strikes initially begins to burn with a furious heat... but then ends up collapsing into a soothing chill that diffuses throughout his body. He actually feels better than before, oddly enough. Aegis uses Hammer Arm on the wall. Lowe hits with Tackle. Blake hits with Sweet Kiss. Gus takes 19 Damage from Hidden Power. (It's super effective.) U3 misses everything... Blake... recovers 20 HP from Present.

Radiant glares daggers at the Jellyfish, even if whatever it is doing isn't immediately harmful. Watching it out of one eye, she sends a spray of water into the golem. Unlike the bubbles from before, this was a stream of sharp smelling water, laden with salt. Radiant Brine vs the Golurk

Silas ignores the swarm adjacent to him and moves over to Lowe, restorative in hand. He quickly sprays the Potion over the Pokemon's wounds. They can't afford to have Thoron's second Pokemon faint this early into the fight. Gus shifts around his foe and changes tactics. Now that he's been damaged, he's going recover the way a parasite does best: leeching the life from his enemy. ....Or at least, that was the plan. The cloud of ice emitted by the letters seems to have interfered with the connection between mushroom and host, and the attack misses all targets. Silas moves north, north-west, then west to J16 and uses a Potion on Lowe. Spending 1 AP to activate Medical Techniques.
Lowe recovers 26 + one Tick of HP.
Gus disengage to K19. Gus uses Leech Life! AC 2: 2 (natural 1)

Radiant's attack hits straight on, the giant humanoid being very hard to miss. There's a flare of rainbow light again, though, cutting down on the severity of the water - it seems to still be taking a toll on the titan, though, even if it's still focused on charging up. Silas is able to slip away to help Lowe, but the letters near him are able to send a little pulse of energy after him as he does so, jolting him. Gus, unfortunately, seems to have much the same issues as before, just being unable to get a grip on the dizzying cloud of letters. One of the dragon's heads - the blue one - snarls at Silas and Lowe, but the other launches a jet of fire at Aegis, thankfully missing the steel arachnoid. Probably the hazard of having two sets of sensory input. Unfortunately, the animated statue is marginally more accurate... which is enough to connect with the comparatively tiny penguin directly in front of it. The force is such that Radiant dissipates into energy instantly, returning to Blake's ball. For what little consolation it is, the giant seems to have misjudged where to best land the blow, and suffers some jarring feedback. Radiant hits with Brine. Golurk expends Light Screen. Silas takes 13 damage from U3's AoO. Gus misses. The dragon misses with Flamethrower. Radiant takes 94 damage, 3 injuries, and Faints from Focus Punch. Golurk hurts itself in Confusion.

Blake had scarcely been able to stop leaning on the wall before Aegis had slammed into the slab at full force. A wise move if the metal beast had somehow managed to miss it. Luckily it had scored a rather fine hit. Unfortunately he was now stuck between it's metal hulk, a slab, an agitated jellyfish, and a colossus that scrapped the ceiling. To make matters worse, Radiant had gotten punched into next week. Blake winced at the impact. That was going to leave a mark that would be very hard to buff out. He was quite cross with this giant for defeating Radiant quit so handily. She was so robust that nothing should have been able to KO her that quick. They still had the mission but part of the mission was keeping everything away from Aegis. That giant looked like it should be kept well away. A spinning orb crashes to the ground in front of the golem. No sooner does the flash of orange appear then it disappears in a deluge of water that slams into the brute. A torrent almost seems to be forming about it but is diaphanous and shaky. At nearly the same moment, Blake strikes out with pinpoint accuracy. Scoring a small hit upon it's leg. The flame-spitting twin-headed dragon was rather intimidating, even for the brazen Luxio. Still, Thoron was telling him to attack again, to distract him from spitting fire at Aegis. Even with Silas' support, neither Thoron nor his Pokemon expected their resistance to last very long, though. Baring his fangs, Lowe charged at the dragon again, this time looking for purchase somewhere on its scaly body. Lowe shifts to I14 and uses Thunder Fang. Taking a momentary break from pummeling the wall, as it works on resetting itself for maximum power, one of Aegis' legs lashes out at the colossus next to it, shimmering with a frigid light. That, combined with Teris' whirlpool, seem to have taken it down a notch. Unfortunately, that does seem to get it riled up somewhat, as the light inside it glows brighter, even as parts of its armour are chipped away. Blake, on the other hand... doesn't really seem to be doing much. It almost feels to him like he'd be just as effective at punching a wall, so hard is the giant's body. Lowe fares a little better as he attacks the dragon once more. It certainly causes a reaction at least, as both heads roar and turn to glare back at him. When the letters begin their attack once more, thankfully Silas, Gus, and Lowe are all able to dodge or resist the attempts at energy emanation from the swarm near them. The letters closes to Thoron, though, are more effective... although, Gus is rather resistant to the jolts he receives. (Thoron isn't quite as lucky.) They also seem to pull themselves together, shaking off the disorientation. A little irate that all it seemed to do was help, the jellyfish emits a stream of electricity again, shocking Blake a lot worse than last time... it's certainly leaving twinges in his muscles. While the whirlpool is slowing it down and tearing away at it, the colossus isn't yet down, trying to stop Aegis. IT unleashes a punch at it, wreathed in spectral energy, delivering a solid hit on the metallic spider. It seems to be determined to keep the gate up. Golurk is Staggered and takes an injury form Ice punch. It's super effective! Golurk is cured of confusion. Golurk is hit by Whirlpool. Golurk is trapped in a Vortex. It's super effective! Dragon is hit by Thunder Fang. Golurk is hit by Aerial Ace. U2 misses all targets. Gus takes 7 damage from Hidden Power. Thoron takes 25 damage from Hidden Power. U3 snaps out of confusion. Blake takes 39 damage and is Paralyzed from Discharge. Aegis takes an injury from Shadow Punch. It's super effective.

Silas sees Aegis take another ghostly blow and realizes that they can't afford to let Cain's Pokemon fall. He steps away from the swarm, pull out another restorative, and applies it to the metal monster. Having missed his target twice in a row, Gus turns toward the swarm that had just shocked him. He snatches one letter out of the air and begins to feed on it, glaring at the swarm with all the distaste his host's hypha-filled eyes can muster. Silas spends 1 AP and uses a Potion on Aegis. Aegis heals 26 HP + 1 Tick.

What with all the other, more pressing concerns in the room, the enemy right under Thoron's nose... May have slipped his mind. At least until they spat out attacks in a Thoron-ly direction. It certainly had a sting to it, so the Technician wisely got out of the way to let do his Gus work. Thoron disengages to K22.

Gus's feeding seems to transfer through the likely-connected letters, as many of them fall from the air, leaving the swarm scarcer than before. Much as Aegis is from Silas, the mushroom 'mon seems to be revitalized. The dragon, bitten by Lowe, decides to bite back, lunging forwards with one of its heads' teeth glowing with fire. Thankfully, the Luxio is able to nimbly dodge out of the way thanks to Thoron's instructions. In the meantime, the titan over the battlefield once more gains more of a metallic sheen, looking even more impenetrable by the moment. And then it looks to be pulling back its fist and charging up again... Gus hits with Leech Life, and reduces the swarm by 1. Gus regains 16 HP. The Dragon misses with Fire Fang. Golurk uses Iron Defense. Golurk readies Focus Punch.

Blake notices the Jellyfish sparking for another attack. He wasn't about to be shocked again. That first one had hurt! So he takes a ducks low and narrowly manages to get out of the way of the angry zapping. There were a couple of burn marks on his coat but nothing that couldn't be buffed out. He shoots a pitifully sad look at the giant. How dare it try to mangle another of his Pokemon! Still discretion was the better part of valor and he hops up and over Aegis's bulk and lands lightly beside Silas. "This giant is proving difficult. Any ideas on keeping it off Aegis? I can keep chipping away but it's rather tough." He rubs his hand, still stinging after his failed attempt to make headway. Teris continues his assault an the giant. Hoping to chip away at it's base before it can land another devastating punch. He charges fearlessly at the giant on a rushing wave of water. Blake uses Dodge since he has that. Better he stays upright for the moment. Shift-Splash: Moving to J17 Action-Baby-Doll Eyes AC 2- 10 Can't critically hit 1 full round. On hit -1 atk cs.

Teris jets forwards, rushing... but slowing a little bit going through the rainbow barrier that appears in front of the giant. It still seems to hurt the colossus, but it isn't enough to disrupt the thing's concentration. And then Aegis hits the wall again. With a crash and a squeal, the metal bends, eventually breaking. There's a flash, the portal briefly becoming visible on two separate halves, wisps of white energy coming off of it... before there's an explosion of energy. It only lasts a moment, reaching out about three meters from the wall, but all the Pokémon touched by it instantly convert into energy. The Technicians' 'mon, save Gus, who was far enough away to avoid the blast, all return themselves to their balls. But, so too has the bulk of the enemy force been wiped out, leaving only a scant scattered letters near Gus. Granted, they do strike valiantly at the mushroom Pokémon... but, as has been continuously showcased, mostly ineffectually. Teris hits with Aqua Jet. Golurk triggers Reflect. Aegis hits with Hammer Arm. The gate explodes, fainting/removing an HP Bar from all Pokémon within 3m. U3 misses with Struggle.

Silas flinches as the explosion washes over him. Ending another fight unconscious really wasn't on his to-do list but... fortunately, it didn't happen this time either. With a small measure of surprise, Silas opens his eyes and sees the enemy almost completely wiped out. With nothing else to do, Silas makes sure his Pokemon stays on task. "Good work, Gus. Stay focused and let's finish this."Gus, of course, was going to do that anyway. He didn't need to be told. Gus, Destroyer of the Alphabet, starts swiping at his foe, intent on cementing his new title. Silas uses Focused Orders on Gus!

And with that, it's over. The last of the enemy Pokémon de-energize, fading away into the air. All is quiet, detritus of machines and the portal-wall scattered around. The group realizes that they can't really hear any fighting. That's probably either a really good sign, or a really bad sign.

Silas didn't even have a chance to answer Blake. Aegis had finally destroyed the portal and unleashed a torrent of energy that had overcharged all the Pokemon near it. Dangerous. Including the giant. Convenient. Sure Teris had bit the dust too but a little rest would bring him around quick enough. And Blake hadn't been hurt by the blast at all, though his hair was more tousled than usual. Gus smacking down the last of the letters and everything was wrapped up. Except for the sudden silence perhaps.
Bubbling slightly, "Excellent work, Gus! Seems Silas picked a lucky spot for you and your precise pinchers." He almost tries to give it a reassuring slap on the err...back but the strange spores that hover around it make him reconsider. Probably best that he refrained from touching an unfamiliar Pokemon.
"That went rather well. Certainly could have gone better without the portal breaking down like that. No hope of exploring the other side. Although...I guess we aren't exactly equipped to help with the cleanup." He perks up a bit after thinking it through, "But we probably aren't needed. No noise is good noise. Right?"

As the brilliant bout of energy faded, Thoron was pleased to discover that it was (mostly) over. And Gus had cut down the stragglers before they could ruin it, so that was that.
"Rampaging Pokemon do tend to cause noise, yes. And since we blocked off the source of the invaders, the others should have had an easier time with containment." Thoron agreed. Then added, "Even if the portal had remained intact, there was a surprisingly sophisticated interface. Last time, we had to use an Espurr to force it open."
In any case, it would take more than a telekinetic feline to operate it now, and it certainly seemed destroyed. To Thoron's eyes, anyways. "It would have been ideal for Aegis to break it further, but this much should be fine. Silas, Blake... Gus, we should give Cain the good news."

Silas recalls Gus and nods at Thoron's assessment. He looks over the remains of the portal, checking for any remaining activity. "I don't see any power remaining. Even if they re-assembled the portal, I don't think it would work."
Still, that's an interesting concept. A construct of energy that destabilizes and disperses when damaged. Sounds familiar. Hopefully it has to be affixed to a wall to maintain stability, because dealing with a portal hanging in mid-air sounds like a Bad Time.
"I don't have the supplies to fix us up, so we should get back to safety now. If we're lucky, we won't run into any stragglers."
