"Don't worry, you didn't."
I got a thicker skin than that, bub.
"Come on you little nuke."
Erica recalls Gapic into the pokeball, hoping to avoid having to carry him for a long time. She follows in behind Dean and his Iguard, as Dean already stated he'd like to catch something to catch up.
"Look, Dean, it's not 'making you look' bad. You know what you are doing out here, so you can call it biding your time for better selections instead of the first pokemon ya find like we did."
As they walk on, Erica looks at the Dribbino's ball once again. A name for it pops into her head, which surprises her.
Pluc? Really brain? A little on the nose don't ya think? Ah well. It'll do. Lets send it out.
Erica applies a Medicine Case to the ball, filling it with a potion (Hey it might be needed for this little one, and she doesn't have a Flash Case to spare, at least at the moment), before sending it out. Erica just stands there for a bit, before akwardly waving.
"Hi."

"I was only kidding you know. I have a plan and I'm sticking to it. I'm looking for something to make up for the inherent weaknesses in grass pokemon. So basically something good against, flying, fire, ice, poison or bug. Not that there is anything that's strong against all of that though. I'll just have to wait and see"
When Erica sends out her newly acquired Dribbino, Dean tries to take a bit of a closer look. "Sure looks interesting, I wonder how it'll do in battle".

Despite Erica and Dean's words, Haruka looks unconvinced. She crossed her arms, looking a bit scornful as she muttered, "Well, it's good to know that you value not making me upset if not the safety of others at the very least." She let out a shuddering breath and started off after them as they left the area. This seemed to convince Kasai to leave the bird alone as he saw that he would get left behind. As he bounded up closer to her, Haruka gave him a pat, "Don't worry, I'll make you food that would taste better than any of those gross birds."
As they continued on, Erica made to send out her new catch, causing Haruka to cross her arms and look a bit unhappy, "I can't believe you caught one of those gross things... I know we're supposed to document all the species, but... still." Well, at least she didn't have to deal with it if she didn't want to. It was Erica's pokemon after all.

Erica is still waiting for a response from the new capture but looks over.
"Well I'm not going to go around eating it's hardened spit of that's what you are asking. I wanted to catch something and you went for the bun so the bird Gapic didn't blow up was my option. Also, I feel like I can use its talents."
She looks back.

The dribbino comes out of Erica's pokéball and quickly shrinks in surprise, only her eyes darting around to see the situation she's in. After a couple of seconds, the bird perks up and immediately starts squawking at her trainers, bouncing in place as she shakes her little wings. She doesn't seem exactly angry, more like worried than anything. She does calm down after a while, though, easily leaping onto Erica's shoulder to get some altitude. It's quite clear she cannot fly very well yet. After the situtation returns to normal, the group pushes forward and the scenery doesn't seem to change much for a while. The group crosses some hills and depressions, but all to subtle to really make a difference in the ocean of vegetation all around. A couple of hours later, as the sun begins to make its journey down, the terrain starts getting a little more humid, the hard dirt being replaced by damp soil. Soon the group is treading through soft mud. Not wet enough for them to sink, but it clings to their shoes, and soon the reason becomes apparent. A pond can be seen about 50 meters ahead, but another thing catches the attention. A little to the group's left, two bright purple pokémon are voraciously eating a patch of cabbages. They have long quills extending from their backs, and they seem to keep a group of much smaller pokémon at bay. These are small brownish worms, moving quickly through the mud terrain, almost swimming, but unable to reach the vegetables or do much against the larger creatures, despite their loud cries. Intuition or Pokémon Education DC 8 or Survival DC 10Given the footprints on the mud and their general behaviour, it seems the purple pokémon are not resident and have invaded the worms' place to eat their supplies. If you scan the purple pokémon (standard action):If you scan the worm pokémon (standard action):ActionsI'm not sure how you'd intervene here, so I'm leaving it open for now. This time, though, you are out of range from them yet, so you have to spend a round moving towards the place to act. Doing so will catch their attention and you won't have a free round, unless you move stealthly of course.

Haruka eyes the bird warily as it starts to squawk and bounce around. Not only was it gross, but it was loud and obnoxious too. Erica was probably going to get drool all over her shoulder with that things hanging out on it. She sighed and shook her head at Erica's lack of taste in pokemon before they went on.
Haruka was mostly fine with the walking, she'd done a lot of walks like this before, so it wasn't too bad. Though the rapidly moistening earth wasn't exactly... great. She frowned slightly, but didn't say anything as they went on. Mud wasn't too big of a deal as long as no one fell into it or anything. But it was getting pretty close to sundown and camping on mud was not a good experience. She... didn't want to remember the last time she tried that.
Though her attention was torn away from the mud by sudden loud, indignant sounding cries. Haruka looked up to see a collection of spiky purple things chomping down on bunch of plant life, seeming to keep some bug things at bay. Looking more carefully at the situation... hmm... it seemed like the purple things weren't native to the area and were stealing the bugs' food. Haruka's brow furrowed, "I... don't think those purple spiky pokemon are native to the area. It seems like they just sort of stormed in and stole that patch of flora from those insects. I'm not particularly invested in intervening in that, this seems like nature working as Shaymin intended, but if either of you wish to, I will assist."

Erica smirks as it seems to calm down, and even want to ride on her shoulder. Excellent. It's not trying to spit-attack her face off. This is actually fairly easy goings so far. She doesn't know what she's really worried about all this 'trainer' nonsense. Seemed to be pretty easy. She turns to the Dribbino.
"I'm going to name you Pluc, ok? And you can ride on there for as long as you don't get your weird spit on me. Then you are on your own for traveling. And I'd rather have you up there, as I gotta teach you some things eventually."
They walk for a while and come upon the scene. This one seems less 'harsh' than the others, with a real 'fight' not happening. At least not yet. She stayed silent as Haruka made the observation and just pulled out her dex and scanned the purple pokemon. Better to know, as she's less inclined to get involved this time. If only because Dean or Haruka chewing her out on her tactics (That worked) or her choice in captures (Which will totally work for her, give her time) isn't really something she wants now.

With the ground becoming more muddy, Dean was immediately looking to see if there was a body of water to be found. When he spotted the pond, he knew he was right this time. Might mean that they need to move up a bit further though, before setting up camp for the night. He is alerted by the presence of pokémon because of Haruka's comments. When he sees the scene unfolded before them, he can't do anything but agree with her statements.
"I think you might be right on this one Haruka. Before rushing in to save the day though, let's see what we can find out first shall we?" Dean whips out his pokédex and starts scanning both pokémon. "The purple ones are poison types, called prikpin. The little worms are called Muddlebee". Dean is intrigued by the poison types. They might not be exactly complimenting Sentinel, but a teammember with status moves at their disposal would be a good fit in his eyes. "Girls, I think it would be a good idea to get these two prikpin away from the area. I actually want to try and catch one if that's ok with you. We might need a little back up though, as grass types have a weakness for poison."
Before going in, Dean tries to look at the pair of poison pokémon more closesly. Trying to determine which one would be the better catch. After he makes his choice he points at his target. "Hm, I think I'm going for that one. What do you say Sentinel, let's do this. I have a feeling they can shoot those quils of them so we move in with our shield completely up, untill we're close enough to strike."
Iguard seems eager to battle, tail whipping feverishly and a look of determination plastered on theyyoung lizard's face.

Haruka nodded at Dean's request to intervene and seemed to think for a second before her eyes narrowed as she fixed her gaze on him. After a few long moments, she grinned mischievously, "Hmm... you're only doing this since you want to catch one of those purple things, huh? Well, alright. I won't judge you too much about it. I can't promise others won't though..."
With that, she turned away from him, not giving any hints about whether she was kidding or not. She whistled to get Kasai's attention from whatever brush he was examining and pointed him at the group of pokemon surrounding the patch of cabbage. "We're going to fight them, alright Kasai? Get prepared for it and don't knock out the one that Dean pointed toward. He wants to catch it," she muttered to him as she prepared herself for a fight. Kasai seemed enthused to engage in another battle, growling slightly, but Haruka wasn't completely sure he followed all that she said. Oh well... she could give him more specific commands later.

The group decides to move forward, as Dean wishes to capture one of the prikpin. Initially, there's no reaction from either of the two parties involved in the dispute for the cabbage, but once the group closes the distance, the attention of all pokémon immediately turns to the trainers. The muddlebee look cautiously, worried about being caught between two enemies. They look from the prikpin to the tamed pokémon of the group, all the time shrieking in a high-pitch frequency, a sign of alarm. The prikpin are much less patient, and they instantly growl loudly and take some sort of tackle instance, their spikes stretched to all sides of the pokémon as they stare the newcomers, waiting for something to happen. DeanWith a quick analysis, you gather some info on the prikpin. The one farther away is clearly a female, a bit smaller and not so keen on fighting. The other one is a male, with larger quills around its neck and a more violent posture. Both seem quite inclined to use their quills defensively and are quite young.
Prikpin 1 (H3) - Female, level 6, Impish nature, Poison Point ability. Prikpin 2 (H4) - Male, level 6, Desperate nature, Poison Point ability. ActionsThe quickest of the enemies has speed 8, which means Erica, Pluc, Haruka and Kasai move first. Unless they do something violent, though, neither of the wild pokémon will start a fight, preferring to keep staring the group and hoping they give up approaching. The map is now updated.

Erica (And by extension, Pluc) wait for a move from the others. In fact, as long as the bugs don't get involved, then maybe Dean and Haruka can handle the two poison types. As long as those worms realize that the group has little want of them.
(Erica and Pluc delay actions)

Dean points out their target (the female Prikpin) and gives clear instructions to Sentinel. "I want you to hit her with all you've got, boy. Use your strongest pound attack. Ignore the worms for now, unless they start attacking us."
Sentinel leaps into action with surprising grace, darting past the Muddlebees to get to his target. He then lashes out with his tail, striking the Prikpin across the face. Dean wastes no time in taking out the pokéball modified with the lock case and takes careful aim at the poison type before tossing the ball.
"Here goes nothing" he calls out before releasing the ball. The boy cringes as his fingers slip somewhat and the ball doesn't realease the way he wants to.

Haruka scrutinizes the situation. It would be... bad if those worm things started attacking the party... those purple things could probably poison which would also be bad. Haruka... decided that it would be best to see what the worms did before she went into battle. Though there were some thing she could do in the meantime to make sure Sentinel would be okay for a few hits and make Kasai hit harder... They might give her weird looks on how she did this, but... if it kept her friends safe, she would endure them.
"... Okay, Kasai, move closer and use Howl," she commanded her pokemon before she began to focus. She clasped her hands together in front of her as she bowed her head slightly. After a moment of clearing her mind, Haruka began to speak, "Swords of Justice! Please grace us with your protection, prevent us from taking harm!" Afterward, she clapped her hands twice in a distinct moderate pace, the sound echoing oddly off her surroundings. For a few moments, nothing seemed to happen, but... a strange shimmer appeared in the air for a split second around Haruka and her friends. As the odd disturbance faded from sight, Haruka smiled. It seemed to have worked, not that she had expected otherwise since she had done it so many times in the past. Hopefully the power of her Reflect would become apparent later, since to others it wouldn't have seemed to do anything aside from that brief shimmer. Then she wouldn't seem crazy.

Sentinel advances as ordered, dodging the muddlebee as it advances towards the target. Unfortunately, the mud is quite wet near the cabbages and the iguard loses traction, managing just to swirl around to strike the closest prikpin with his tail. The force of the impact drives it away from the vegetables, but a few quills get stuck on Sentinel's tail and he seems to suffer a bit from the venom in them. Dean tries to take the chance to capture one of the prikpin, but he miscalculates the distance and the pokéball falls harmlessly on the mud. The poison pokémon are quick to retaliate, though. The one struck by Sentinel tackles the iguard back, while its companion shoots a handful of quills. Sentinel manages to block the brute attack with his shield, but that leaves him open to the toxic darts. Regardless, the iguard stands strong just as the worms decide to take part. All four muddlebees around start shooting a net of string at those near the cabbage, and while most of the string fly wide as the worms try to keep their distance, some stick to Sentinel and slow it down. ActionsSentinel hits Prikpin 2. Prikpin 1 was out of range. Dean misses the pokéball. Kasai increases its Attack by 1 CS. Prikpin 1 uses Tackle on Sentinel, but misses. Prikpin 2 uses Poison Sting on Sentinel. It's super effective. Muddlebees uses String Shot, but only one hits. Sentinel's speed is lowered by 1 CS.
You can all act before it's their turn again.

Erica winces as Dean's attempts go a little awry. Sentinel is going to need a little help. She had hoped that with them attacking the two poison types, maybe the bugs would stay out of it? At least their attacks weren't super aggressive. But everything's attention on Dean's pokemon is not the best idea. She sighs, and looks to Pluc. "Your training starts now. Go smack that one. I got a plan."She turns to Dean and Haruka. "I'll distract the bugs. Keep on the two others."Erica waits for Pluc as she screeches at the one in the way of her two fri- well... associates. Let's call them that. Once that's done, she actually recalls Pluc, and removes Pluc's case and replaces it with the Flash case. -New Round- Now fully set up, Erica takes two balls and launches them toward the bigger group of bugs! After a brief flash, Pluc pops back out and lets out some sticky bubbles. The other ball heads and whacks the previously targeted bug in the head. Because hey, they are getting paid for captures. Why not right? Delayed Turn- Pluc moves from E11 to F9 Pluc uses Sonic Boom on the worm in front of everybody! AC 6 Normal Special (Does 15 damage on hit) SSrD2Yma1d20
As a shift action, Erica recalls Pluc. As a standard action, she applies the Flash case to Pluc's ball.
-New Round- Erica throws an Empty Lock-case ball toward the lone bug using her standard action. 1d20 1d100-13
Erica uses her shift action to throw her Flash case ball to d6. The ball uses flash, with Erica spending a Swift and an ap to turn it into a Burst 2 Flash vs all three grouped worms AC 2 Normal Status (-1 accuracy on hit) 1d20

Haruka gives a mute nod to Erica's words. The bugs weren't doing much more than shooting sticky silk everywhere. While it was annoying, they didn't really seem to be big threats like those poisonous creatures were to Sentinel... and after Erica's actions, Haruka was fairly sure Kasai could charge in to help without facing much retaliation from them, especially with the one blocking the way inside a pokeball. She nodded for Kasai to keep going. "Use Coal Scatter on the spiky things! Just um... try not to knock them out completely," she finished a little weakly. As she watched Kasai dart off, Haruka centered herself once again. Sentinel was probably going to be the target of a lot more attacks, so she figured she should probably help him out with some more active protection. She clasped her hands together, humming briefly to herself. She had done this enough times that she didn't even need to say the prayer anymore, she just needed to... focus. Reach that well of strength within her core and... "Haah!" she suddenly cried out, clapping her hands together once again as the invisible shimmer around Sentinel strengthened for a moment. It wasn't as strong as her focused blessings, but it should do to protect from some damage, at least for a little bit. It wouldn't last very long. Using Sage base feat on Sentinel, he gains 8 or his Tick Value in DR, whichever is higher, until Haruka's next turn.

Erica moves quick, not a second after the dribbino releases a concussive shriek at the nearest bug the bird pokémon is recalled into her ball. Without missing a beat, the girl switches cases around, preparing everything before two pokéballs back into the fray. The first one hits the hurt bug straight into its head, sucking it inside before falling to the ground. It pings before it even sets in the mud. The second one contains Pluc again, but it comes with the flashing light the group's seen before. Pluc isn't surprised by it like the bugs definitely are, and it releases foam from her mouth, large bubbles of saliva adhering to the worms before exploding and making their movements stiff. Haruka moves next, strangely in sync with her newfound companions. She focuses on her protective barrier, strengthening it around Sentinel just as Kasai moves forward and blasts a mix of smoke and fire at the prikpin. The poison pokémon seem pretty hurt after the attack, and even as the male strikes Kasai away, its fur still burns. The female also retaliates, but she still keeps her distance, preferring to shoot another series of quills at Sentinel again. Both pokémon are surprised to see most of the barbs colliding with an invisible force before actually hitting the iguard, leaving it only with a single flesh wound. Simultaneously, the bugs decide to focus their attention on the bird who just exploded amidst them with flash and spit. Two of them simply throw themselves head first at the dribbino, but they must be stronger than they look by the face of pain the bird pokémon make after the attacks, small bruises appearing on her small body as she's driven back. The third one, too far away to do the same, seems content in throwing mud all around, drops of soil hitting everyone closeby, quite uneffectively. EricaYou captured a Muddlebee! Level: 4 Gender: Male Ability: Cast Off Nature: Naughty Egg Move: Camouflage Damage: -15 HP and 2 Injuries. You can distribute its stats as you wish. Since it has no other Egg Moves, you can pick one Tutor Move to add to its Inheritance List, to be learned at a level corresponding to the September Playtest. ActionsErica flashbangs and captures a Muddlebee. Pluc hits Muddlebee 1 & 2 with Bubble, reducing their Speed by 1 CS and causing 2 injuries each. Haruka protects Sentinel. Kasai hits Prikpin 1 & 2 with Coal Scatter, causing 2 injuries each.
Prikpin 1 hits Sentinel with Poison Sting. With Haruka's Sage effect, it deals only 1 damage. Prikpin 2 hits Kasai with Tackle. It deals 16 damage after defenses and pushes Kasai 2 meters back. Muddlebee 1 uses Mud Sport. Muddlebee 2 hits Pluc with Tackle. It deals 10 damage after defenses. Muddlebee 3 hits Pluc with Tackle. It deals 11 damage after defenses and 1 injury, and pushes Pluc 2 meters back.
The group still have 2 uses of Reflect.
You can now act again. Dean and Sentinel close this turn and Erica, Pluc, Haruka and Kasai start the next one.

Not at all happy with how things are going, Dean grits his teeth before trying to regain his composure. How could he be so stupid. Throwing a pokéball wasn't THAT hard. Apart from that, Sentinel had taken a couple of hits, but was hanging in there luckily. Haruka had been a big boon to this battle, even though her powers made him feel very uneasy.
"Sentinel, hang in there buddy. Focus your attack on the intended target alright, let's try another pound attack".
In the meantime Dean quickly grabbed another pokéball from his bag and took carful aim once more.
Sentinel quicky shifts his attention and lashes out at the other prikpin, his tail whipping around like a sledgehammer. After seeing the attack connet, Dean lets the pokeball fly for the target, his aim much better this time.

If Dean fails to catch the Prikpin and it isn't KO'd: Haruka sighed as she saw the ball Dean through break open and fail to catch it like the last one he threw. She glanced at Kasai who had taken a bit of a blow, she didn't want him to get hurt any worse, but... "... I'm sorry Kasai, hopefully Reflect will stop anything from hurting you too bad..." she muttered to herself before tossing a pokeball at the elusive Prikpin that Dean wanted to catch. Otherwise: Haruka watched the purple creature vanish into the pokeball with a bit of anticipation. As it settled, she let out a breath of relief. She was hoping she didn't have to throw a ball at it herself since Kasai was looking a bit hurt from the previous attack he took. With that, she clasped her hands together and went through the process of centering herself once again, intensifying the protection around Kasai. Regardless, Haruka was pretty sure that Sentinel could handle the other Prikpin for a little bit, the swarm of bugs was a bit more dangerous and easy for Kasai to handle. "Use Coal Scatter on those bugs!" she called out, causing Kasai to dart into action. If Dean doesn't catch the Prikpin and it's still catchable, Haruka will throw a pokeball at it. Otherwise, she's using Sage base feat on Kasai for 8 DR.

Erica mentally fist pumps as she gets another capture. She may not have to revert back to her old ways afterall, if she keeps catching like this she'll be loaded in no time thanks to the Professor. Awesome. But Pluc is getting wrecked. Less awesome. As Pluc angrily flies back and blasts again, Erica recalls her. She applies a potion to the ball, hoping the others will be fine for a round. Pluc uses Bubble vs the two same targets as last time. AC 2 Water Special (-1 speed stage on 17+) R5zwHY4W1d20 1d8+21
Erica recalls Pluc using a Shift action and then applies a Potion as a standard.
