Xander's eyes widen at the sudden change and, in his shock, he lets his guard down just in time for the Inkay's psychic attack slip past and into him, knocking him out.
Tully doesn't fare much better, still feeling the effects of the battle with the Brute. Combined with the shock of seeing... her again and the sudden attack, he barely gets a disbelieving grunt out before he passes out.

30 minutes later...
Tully's nap is interrupted by the carrier. He notices the giant welt on the boy's head. With his nursing degree, Tully can tell it was probably induced by the attacker. And with his body language reading skills, Tully can tell it was when the attacker was Other Tully. "Think you can freaking fool me ya bastard!" The carrier continues with lifting up a rock the size of his head.
If he is seeking backup, Xander is nowhere to be found and neither is his hat.
Roll athletics to evade the rock throw or some social skill to persuade him otherwise.

Tully leaps out of the way just in time. He almost begins to say exactly what happened before he realizes that the truth probably wouldn't believed. So instead he does something he does much better than tell the truth: he pulls something out of his arse.
"Looks like you saw 'im too, huh? Didja see which way he went? Been chasin' the slippery bastard for weeks, he's been goin' town-to-town stirrin' trouble and now he's taken to lookin' like me to slow me down." He doesn't expect his story to be instantly believed (though it would be nice), but the point is to get the attacker to stop long enough to do the one thing that the Zoroark does not want him to do: think. "And I know, I know, that don't sound too plausible, which, by the way, is probably the entire point o' the whole charade. But just look and listen."
He indicates his bruised and bloodied body. "Does it look like I was playin' dead just now? And what the hell point'd there be in doin' that anyway - to give you an easy target? My clothes ain't as filthy, I ain't got the hat or the backpack, I don't smell like a dumpster fulla week-old fruit and, as you've probably noticed, I'm speakin' fluent-like, which our little imposter ain't picked up yet. Now, I admit, I'm a little biased here, but I'd be thinkin' this all says that, maybe, there's somethin' more goin' on here, doncha think?"

After the miss, the carrier quickly resets himself with the rock. During Tully's whole explanation of the situation, they circle around each other like a child hiding behind a pillar to escape a parent's belt. He doesn't believe in Tully one bit, but he does make enough good points for the carrier to settle down.
"Gimme your coat and walk!" He demands. "I don't believe in that doc get up one bit!! I'm takin' ya back into town and we'll let the sheriff and Nurse Joy sort you out!"

Tully shrugs. "Yeah, sorry 'bout that - the clothes were just so I didn't get lynched in town." He takes off his coat slowly before putting it on the ground, both to make it clear he's no threat and to give him enough time to retrieve a few things from the pockets and palm them. "I'll keep the getup on til we get there if you don't mind - probably best not to tempt the mob, right?"
As he starts walking, he looks briefly over his shoulder to where he presumes Xander went and mutters: "I'll find you, buddy. I'll find you."

They return to the village with a bucket of berries in hand. Because Tully made a memorable impression on the townspeople, a few of them begin to berate the carrier for taking him hostage and beating him up. He explains his side of the story and that makes the citizens more confused. So instead of taking Tully to Officer Jenny, he instead heads to Nurse Joy to escape the commotion.
Upon entering the home of Nurse Joy, he sees three men, shouting and laughing, all build like oxen. They're sharing stories of how they wrestled wild pokemon for their meat. "Have any of y'all tried sustaining of Gravler for three days?" One of the men to change the tone of the conversation. The carrier leaves Tully in their hands while he goes back to the store to call the police.
While having a good laugh, Nurse Joy eventually notices you and all happiness dies. "What the hell is wrong with you!" Commenting on your dirtied clothes and being more injured than when you came in.

"Came across my double." Tully explains, sighing a little. "Was a Zoroark. No idea why he decided to turn into me..." he pauses for a moment, trying not to dwell on the other person he turned into, "but he did, and he weren't too happy that I was awake. Tried to rectify the situation... and with the help of an inkay, he succeeded. And now they've got Xander." He growls a little at this. "Dunno what they're doin' to 'im, don't wanna know, but that was a mistake. Now I can track 'em down, but I'll need the rest of my 'mon up and ready to do it."
He looks at the three very burly men and suppresses a gulp. "Also, should probably make it clear to the rest o' the town what happened, that's probably the first thing."

"A Zoroark...? I haven't heard anything about them, but there are reports about missing chickens and pigs." Nurse Joy puts a finger on her cheek, until you mention about retrieving your pokemon.
"Right, 'bout that... I bandaged them up, but they're nowhere near ready to go. I had to put them on the back burner for a bit while I had a human patient to attend to. She came in a while ago injured, sorry." She says as she clasps her hands in forgiveness. The Nurse guides Tully into the other rooms and sees an air headed girl laying down on a hospital recliner bed. Tossing an Inkay up into the air and catching it gracefully like a daily routine that replaced juggling for the masses. Even though they are different, both activities give the same amount of joy judging by the look on her face. Nurse Joy is also giggling.
She notices Tully's presence and focuses in on him. "Heya!" she shouts.

Tully's eyes widen briefly, but otherwise he shows no reaction at first. There's a brief moment where he feels like attacking her, but he quickly realizing that'd do nothing but hurt his case. Heck, that might even be what the Zoroark is hoping for.
After a moment, he nods at her. "Well, hey there. Guessin' you had an encounter with a certain 'mon too. May not have seemed like it, but probably was - after all, it could look like anyone." He emphasizes the word ever so slightly before turning to Nurse Joy. "Listen, do ya think you could wait outside for a moment - wanna hear her story for myself, see how likely it is she encountered the same 'mon before either of us go blabbin' to anyone else, know what I mean?"

"Well, you can attempt to do so, but she's not much of a talker. If I recall correctly, she said her name was, Marietta? Sounds gorgeous if you ask me."
'Marietta' pulls at Nurse Joy's jacket as she turns away from the bed. "Uh oh..." Marietta says as she points to an reopened wound on her stomach. "Gah! I told you about playing with that Inkay too long!" She waves her hand at Tully as a gesture of exiting. "You interrogation will have to happen at another time. Marietta needs to recover a bit more and she'll be good as new. Talk to those guys outside about your predicament ok? Your Murkrow should be alright enough to take out for a stroll. NO FIGHTS!!" She says as the door shuts on you.
Once he's back outside, the voices are audible once more. "Damn, that girl is either strong or crafty to bring that thing over to us! It put up a helluva fight once he woke up but I handled it, almost lost a hand though." One of the men tell the other two.
"Did it come from the city? We would never see a Krokorok in this kind of habitat." "It's whatever, there's enough meat on that croc to last a week. I'm gonna go into the city and sell 'im 3X higher than Tauros by the pound! I'll give y'all a free 3/4ths once we're done slicing 'im up of course, haha."

Tully's eye twitches as he hears this. However, rather than going on the attack, he shakes his head, puts on a smile and walks into the room and speaks loudly. "Hey there, guys, couldn't help overhearin'. That Krokorok you was talkin' about. Wouldn't happen to be about this tall," he holds a hand out at Xander's height, "wily look, bruise under 'is right eye and look like it came outta this pokeball, would it?" He holds up Xander's pokeball, letting the implication hang. If they had done anything permanent to Xander, then that Zoroark was dead and these guys were going to have to say something really to stay alive as well.

The man who boasted over his victory and future investment answers his question. "Yeah he was about that tall, haha. Pokeball? Are you a city boy?" The man questioned. To them, battling wasn't much of a thing. Pokemon were only used for utility and everyday work. "No one in this village really carries their pokemon around in those. They wouldn't be strong enough to deal with that Krokorok. We were only to bring him down cause he was already a bit injured."
The man pauses a bit, looks at his companions and down at the floor. Starting to put the information in his head, he stutters, "Do you know something about that pokemon?"

"Should do, he's mine. Got stolen by... well, let's not get into that right now, but let's just say there was a reason he was out when you found him. Still, long as he's okay, no harm done... he is okay, isn't he?" Tully says, his voice rising in the end, though out of concern rather than anger.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0usR-H9y7AThe man lifts his head up with a worried expression. "Well if that pokeball of yer's can recall that Krokorok with no problems then I'll just have to believe it's yours... But we gotta hurry. Knocked him out again since he's almost ready for the chopping block to... Get his blood drained." The others leave the door open while the man keeps on explaining. "My assistant is a lazy kid, so I don't think he got too far into anything." Both Tully and the man reach the meat market as fast as they can. Once get get within a certain distance where Xander is being held. They hear inhuman growls, like a large industrial fan is caught on something and only the gears are rotating. They open the door to the source of the Jurassic call only to find Xander, beaten further than the last time you saw him. A woman with a honing steel and a knife stands on the other side of the room while Xander cries and roars from the bottom of his soul. "Sorry boss!" The woman says as she attempts to shout over Xander. "He woke up so soon and started... screaming. He was totally killin' my vibe!"

"Ya don't say." Tully says as he walks forward towards Xander. "'Sokay, Xander, I'm here to help... oh, and just so you know it's really me, you set a lady's coat on fire the first time we met." He pauses for a second, thinking. "Really hope this whole thing don't go on too long - if I run outta facts to let you know it's me, might have to start hittin' myself so you know there's no illusion." He shakes his head, ending the tangent. "Anyway, this girl's boss knows you're with me now, they ain't gonna do anythin' more to ya, I'll make sure o' that." He holds out Xander's Pokeball, letting him press the button. "For now, let's get outta here, huh?"

Xander's cries begin to simmer down under Tully's comfort. The boss and assistant apologizes to him for the miscommunication between them and the girl who brought Xander in.
"She just came to the door and asked us to trade this pokemon in for $2,500. With a price that low, I took 'em without askin' anything. Um, if she left the doctor's house, we asked the girl where she was going after healing up and all she said was 'meat'. Ya can guess she went to the local bar. Is there anything else we can help you with?"

"Nothin' I can think of." Tully says after a moment's thought. "If I think of anythin', I'll let ye know."
He turns and leaves, Xander in tow, heading back to the doctor's office - whatever happens, he was not going to let himself get caught out like that again - this time he'd nearly lost Xander and he wasn't going to let there be a next time if he could help it. So he was going to make sure to have his full team with him next time he ran into this thing.
As he goes, he starts thinking. This just don't make sense. So, this guy takes on my appearance, does a bunch of crap to the people of this town, but for no reason, far as I can see. He didn't get anythin' out of it and, far as I know, he ain't never met me, so can't see why he'd hate me enough to frame me. And even if he did, he had the chance to kill me and he just lets me live. Some kinda weird joke maybe? No, that don't make sense either - it ain't like he has a problem with killin' since he sold Xander for meat. So why the hell is he doin' any of this?
He shakes his head to clear it as he reenters Nurse Joy's house. One problem at a time. First, gotta get past this whole framin' thing. Times like this almost make me wish I trusted the police. He looks up, expecting to encounter the police either immediately or soon.

Tully reaches the doctor's house, and as he expected, a cop with the appearance of an older Officer Jenny arrives in his face. It appears she was questioning Nurse Joy about your whereabouts. She is astonished when you enter, as if she hoped you wouldn't return so soon.
"Well, is this the troublemaker happening in the village?" Officer Jenny says as she gets up out of the chair. Not without a few fatigued grunts. "Judging by everyone's reports I thought I might have to call for backup. But it looks like a gust of wind can drop you at anytime. The other officers are doing something in the next town so I won't bother them. Let's go to the office real quick so we can run a background check ok?"

"Hey there Officer, sorry I had to step out - had to help a friend o' mine." Tully smiles warmly, expertly hiding the terror at the notion - sure, it would probably clear him of this crime, but it might bring up some other... unpleasantness. And that was on top of all the other issues - questioning, background, fingerprints.
Wait a second... fingerprints? Of course!
Tully's smile doesn't change on the outside, but on the inside it's suddenly a lot more genuine. "Actually, Officer, don't think that'll be necessary. I think we can establish here and now that it wasn't me. Oh, don't get me wrong, it almost certainly looked like me, we'll get to that, but I can prove thay it was an imposter. Good one, too. I mean, you said you got a look at him, right Nurse Joy? I'm guessin' he looked exactly like me, sounded exactly like me and dressed exactly like me, am I right?" He pauses, waiting for her reply.

She thinking about what Tully expects from her, Nurse Joy diligently answers the question. "Y-yes!" Giving as little detail as possible, trying not to contradict what she said earlier to the officer nor follow Tully in a lie he scooped up.
