Seeing Keno in a bit of a bind John runs toward him, 'Lets see if we can hurt that one." John points to the Tallow, "Absord, please"

With the Taillow retreating, Izzy presses one hand to the location the Taillow Pecked, nipping at her lower lip a bit harder than usual to focus her mind away from the pain of the attack and onto that discomfort instead. Free of attacking Taillow at the moment, she fiddles with the Urn in her hand, taking time to quickly open the other box and activate her PokéDex (if she has the time). She attempts to hunker down a bit, meanwhile, to make herself a less obvious target to the disturbed flock. *** Roll

Keno bends down to welcome her to the team, "Capricolt huh? Well nice to meet you!"
Seeing the Tailow back away from the water spray, he thinks, 'the birds don't like water, maybe the orange denotes fire typing.'
"OK pal, we're in a bit of a pinch, why don't you hit it with some water."
In response the little mer-pony simply tilted her head, 'or maybe not,' "how bout, stay safe, and if anything gets too close, scare it off."
Izzy seemed to be tinkering with the odd new Pokeball, so Keno stepped right around John to come up by her side, "turn it over, twist there and you're good to go."
If anything gets close to Capricolt, she will use a Growl

Jason quickly moves to lean down next to the Smink and pulls the lizard into his chest. "Woah there," Jason soothes. "No need to beat yourself up. I can do the protecting now."
Jason stands tall and looks around for the next attack, but it seems that his fellow trial-goers were able to subdue the remaining Tailows. He turns to the wooden door that remains shut then brings his attention back to the weaken Smink cradled in his arms.

Keno, your Capricolt points both her ears at the opposing Taillow, giving it her full attention. She rears up on her tail and lets out a loud snort and whinny while stomping her hooves. The pokemon seems more intimidated by her as its attack decreased.
John, your Arachnut skitters across the limestone, tapping its shell against the rock before it launched itself at the weakened Taillow and latched onto it with its eight armored legs. The bird screeched as it pierced its fangs into the opposing pokemon and began to suck on its fluids. The taillow let out the same cry as the trapped one.
Jason, you feel the Smink shiver a little less in your arms, but your medicine education doesn't tell you anything of what is wrong. However, you can tell that the pokemon isn't hurt yet.
Izzy, with the other pokemon distracted, you are able to focus off of the bruised area the pokemon pecked at you and try your best to hide, but can't seem to find a good spot in this place. You fiddle with the urn-like device, activate the dial with the glyph on it, and release your pokemon, which appears in a flash of emerald light in a swirl of leaves and flowers. The smell of lavender fills the air as your chosen pokemon appeared. It had a small, chunky body with short legs, green spotted skin with warts, and a large green bulb growing on its back. It opens its fanged mouth and lets out a loud croak.
Everything is suddenly interrupted by a loud screech, coming from one of the larger holes. It sounded like another Taillow, only louder and with more force in its voice than with the others.

Keno, your common sense about pokemon tells you immediately that this is another Taillow. The rest of the flock that didn't attack retreat to their holes. High in the hole in the ceiling is a nest that was larger than the others. A Taillow emerged, one that was large enough to cast a shadow that dimmed the room. It swooped down and landed on the center of the room. It was certainly much larger than the others.

"That's fair, defence is a solid option, but who are we to come into it's home and attack? The professor too said try to avoid where we can."
Keno knew this could go bad, but had to resist the urge to leap into action. Gather information, access, act. That said, being attacked is a clear sign he sould attack back. At the moment though, he didn't even know the extent of his new partners abilities.
To to newist, larger Tailow, he spoke slowly and calmly "Hello, we meant no harm, we are planning to leave in peace; if you let us. If you need our help, I guess that's kinda our job now." he also though but didn't say, 'and if you want to fight us, we'll ablige that too.'

Izzy frowns slightly at Keno's behaviour. "Look, Keno..." she offers through gritted teeth, a bit ruder at the moment due to the pain in her arm, "Either we're in this together and are all willing to accept help from each other, or you can keep your advice to yourself, since you never accept any help from anyone else!" She's distracted by the croaking of the Bulbasaur that appears before her, taking off guard by not only that noise from what appeared to be a little dinosaur-like creature, but also by the louder cry that's voiced once he appeared. "I suppose with the door slamming shut there was no way to avoid this part..." she mutters, attempting to scan the new, large Taillow to get an idea of its Typing, meanwhile she tries to pull any relevant information from her past experience with Pokémon that might help here. Looking at her new Pokémon and crouching before him, she quickly scans him with her PokéDex, if there's time, to discover what he can do. *** Rolls & OOC

"Whatever you say," miffed, "you need someone to look at that arm, you let someone else know then." He turned away from here, bigger things to deal with. The bulbasaur was cute though!

"Oh sunshine," Jason muttered turning to face the much larger Tailow that landed down. He didn't want the Smink to suffer anymore, and prayed that himself and the others were capable of handling the situation without the lizard. Jason agreed with Keno, getting out of here was a much better option than trying to battle. But, the automatic door was still keeping them trapped. Slowly, Jason moves backward toward the door. Maybe there was a button that they weren't seeing?

The big Taillow seems to glance at it's afflicted comrades before screeching loudly as it unleashes an intense red aura. However before it could attack, the party's sparkling stones start glowing with the same aura. It seemed to hesitate its actions as Keno tried to charm the bird. The Pokemon did not approach, but it still seems cross with you.
Izzy, you activate the dex app and point the camera at the Pokemon to scan it. With a "ping" the electronic voice said, "Taillow, a tiny swallow pokemon. Subsection: Cliff Form. After making nests in cliffs and entrances to underground areas for many generations, these Taillow have gained the ground type. This was to avoid harsh winters without having to migrate. They lost the twin plumage on their tails to better fit the snug living conditions. Their saliva is made of a special chemical compound that hardens into a rock-like substance that they use to make their neets. When defending themselves, they spray this saliva at their opponents, which takes on the quality of sand."
You also find the time to scan your Bulbasaur. "Bulbasaur, a seed pokemon. At birth, this pokemon is given a seed that is planted on its back by the mother. This seed eventually grows into a large bulb. The Pokemon and the plant have a symbiotic relationship, where both parties gain benefits. The bulb collects poison from sacs behind the Pokemon's ears to defend the host with deadly spores and it provides sugars to the body, using sunlight and body fluids. In return, Bulbasaur finds places to sunbathe and a plentiful source of water to keep the bulb healthy. Because of this relationship, Bulbasaur are easy to maintain by trainers and they don't need food for most of the year."
Jason, you spot a small story carved on the door. "There once was an Arachnut that strolled through the forest. It became tired and decided to rest in a tree. A Smink spotted it and mistook it for a tasty berry to eat. As it climbed up the tree, a Capricolt in the nearby river sprayed it with water. The lizard was told of what he was about to do and slinked off in shame. Eventually, Arachnut woke up and continued on his merry way."

Ignoring Keno's miffed response, Izzy reaches down to rub her hand gently over her Bulbasaur's head. "Hey little one. Able to summon food for yourself at will, huh? Kinda like a 'Cleric' or 'Druid' in those old pen-and-paper games dad has lying around."
She glances towards the large Taillow, frowning as she sees some of the others' stones starting to glow. She pulls her out of the last spot she stored it and then turns back to the Bulbasaur. "Then again, that bulb of yours uses spores to defend you... That's not really a 'Cleric' thing, so I'll name you Peyote, okay? It's the name of a rather powerful Druid in a story dad read me long ago based on his old game."

If it wasn't for the shrieking bird in the center of the room, Jason would have found the story amusing. But, seeing it didn't shed any light on the exiting situation Jason gritted this teeth together. He turned back to face the bird and noticed the soft glow from inside his coat pocket. He pulled out his spirit stone and examined it further. Was he supposed to throw it? He tried to remember what the spirit said. No, not throw it. But use it for sure-- to settle the beast of the land!
Jason hadn't seen any beasts, but he'd assume this glowing red Tailow fit the bill.
He curled Smink around his neck for safety, and rose his stone high and stared down the massive bird.
"We are the new guardians of the Great Mystery and we command you to return from where you came."
Charm Check, because Jason isn't intimidating anyone.

'Could be on the right track,' Keno too, notices the glow, unzips, and removes the stone. He already said his piece, so he just holds if palm open.

Giving a sideway look at her other Applicants Izzy asks, "Does anyone mind if I scan your Starters? I'll keep the volume at its current levels, so hopefully we'll all know about each of them after that." If permission is given, Izzy scans the person's Pokémon.
As for her glowing Stone, she leaves it in her lap for now.

As the two of you hold out your stones, the bird ruffled its feathers more and huffed. The others peeked out of their holes and watched as their leader started chirping out a loud song. The ones that attacked before just look at it in confusion and just returned to their nests.
