Two pieces of the shell split open, showing they are attached to two spindly legs with green stripy fuzz. You see four bright yellow eyes stare at you from inside the natural casing.

"AWESOME!" Time to help. John pulls out the device that previously scrolled the moves and such that arachnut was able to use, "Let's see what we can do to help lil'friend."

Let's start knocking some of these birds out of the sky bud! Hit that one (points to the closest one) with Spider Web!. John then throws a Pester ball at another nearby bird.

Isabella can't help but notice that two of her fellow Applicants managed to get their Pokémon out of the Urns, but as she has no clue how they did it, she takes a glance towards Keno to see if that cloud of smoke has cleared yet. If it has, she steps closer to him as he's a ready target for the angered birds. If not, she remains where she is, nearby.
She knows that the birds are too agitated to be talked out of their current course of action, so she takes a breath, plants her feet and opens her eyes wide, holding the Urn-free hand before her, palm towards the pair of Taillows. Her hazel-hued eyes shimmer slightly as she stated forcefully, "Both of you get back to your nests this instant and stop making such a fuss!"

The blue turned to black, then it turned to Blue once more, in a world of bleakness. The smoke began to spiral and vanish through an unseen hole in the ceiling like water swirling down a drain, only upsidedown. In it's place appeared a swarm of technicolor Tailow flapping around Keno's head. As they flew they began to sing:
"You failed. You failed. You failed, you failed, you failed.
We're sorry-to see you, the the trial-is now done, you didn't measure up, and you were not the one.
"You failed. You failed. You failed, you failed, you faiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiled."
At that, the gorund beneath him vanished and Keno began to fall into the abyss.

Time for initiative!
Taillow 1 Speed: 12
Taillow 2: 12
Taillow 3: 12
Taillow 4: 19
Taillow 5: 12
Taillow #4 flies next to # 5 toward John. Arachnut opens the rest of its legs out of its shell and turns to see the attacking pokemon. As a readied action the arachnid squeals and shoots out a string of webbing at the attacking pokemon. It suddenly blooms like a flower into a full web and catches the bird midflight. The other flies around and into the pesterball John threw, pelting it with another cloud of blue smoke.
Izzy, the two birds try to keep their focus as you shout commands at them.
Taillow 2: 1B1pIdIe3d6+0
Taillow 3: 3d6+0
The both of them are kept at bay by your forceful shouting.
Keno, you pull through and feel a jolt of energy that wakes you up.3d6+0·3d6+0

Whatever happened, keno is prepared for battle.

"Keno, grab that weird thing and call for the pokemon it represents to help" John yelled, half panting as he braced for what looks to be a grueling fight ahead.

Taillow 4 struggles viiolently against the webs its trapped in before turning its attention to the Arachnut that stands two meters diagonally below it. Its tangerine cheeks seem to puff up as it spews out a spray of powdery substance that looks like sand.
Taillow 4 used Sand Attack! 6_UL|aeo1d20 AC: 2
Taillow 5 falls to the floor, and is asleep.
Taillow 1 keeps flying in circles around Keno, keeping 2 meters distance between itself ad him.
Taillow 2 and 3 do the same around Izzy, but number 3 fires another Sand Attack at her. 1d20 AC: 2. Unfortuntately, not only does it miss Izzy, but it hits number 2 in the face. The bird screeches and as it tries to shake the sand out of its eyes. Number 2 is blinded until the end of its next turn.1d20·1d20

Jason's eyes widen as he stairs at the reptilian creature now resting on his shoulders, slowly the cawing of the Tailows bring him back.
"Howdy partner," Jason grins to the Smink. "We'll have time for proper introductions later, but right now we could really use some help quieting down these Tailows or finding another exit. Think you can help us out by using a Tackle Attack?"

"It's just like I told you, both. You were better off returning to your nests right away. Go. Now," Isabella states forcefully, frowning at the Taillow who not only tried spray sand in her eyes but hit his friend in the process.

John you see several others attacking your teammates while the trapped one keeps spewing sand.
Jason, you see a small, thin red lizard with three yellow lines that run from head to tail. They glow like embers in the dim light. It wags its crimson whip of a tail as you command it to attack. At an instant, it sprints off of you and at the Taillow that's asleep. It rams into it, knocking it back a meter and dealing damage.
Keno, you make it as far as activating the holographic display. The name, "Capricolt" appears through the blue light. Seeing how the others got their pokemon, you twist the dial and toss your urn in the air. The device bursts, spraying water all around you as a small whinny echoes in the chamber.
Izzy, the blinded Taillow retreats to the holes while the other doesn't back down.

Izzy nods as the second Taillow retreats, then she turns her attention to the more aggressive one. "Your friend had the right idea, you know. These new Trainers are itching to test out their new partners, you could get hurt." She motions with a slow, careful motion back towards the honeycombed walls, "Go on. Go home, little one." *** Roll

"Atta boy!" Jason cheers on the red lizard and steps up to meet him where he dealt the attack. "Let's see if we can't clear off another one."
Taking a quick look around the battle field, Jason takes a guarding stance in front of Keno as he continuities to work the urn device. John and Isabella seems alright holding their own and Jason's didn't want any of the birds to dive bomb a distracted Keno.
"We'll watch your back," Jason explains with a nod then readies Smink for another tackle if any Tailow come this way.

Turn 2
Taillow 4 lets out a cry that sounds different from the usual chatter. It's long and high-pitched, like its crying.
Taillow 5 tries a sleep save, but remains asleep, even after being knocked back by the Smink.
Taillow 3 flies at Izzy to make a peck attack at her. hqbQ2gYv1d20 AC: 2 Damage: 1d8+6 . When Izzy's turn comes around and she uses charm the pokemon looks her in her hazel eyes and begins to fly its way back to the nest.
Taillow 1 backs away to avoid the water raining down from the device. It tries to spray Keno with a Sand Attack but is moved back out of range by the appearance of a new pokemon. It was a very strange creature that seemed equine in nature, but it had two curling horns, a head and torso covered in light blue fur with speckles, a fuzzy sparkling blue mane that looked like the night sky, two shining eyes of ebony, and a flopping scaly tail for its backside. The bird pokemon seemed nervous just by looking at it.
Jason, no other taillow seem to be coming your way, but the Smink decides to tackle the same Taillow as before and it's body begins to shiver, like it's becoming horribly weak.
