Am I missing something here, or is everyone else also getting the impression from all the clues that a Bulbasaur is absolutely useless currently? I think with the door, because of the depictions of the regional starters and the cavern's trend of traditional ideas, your Bulbasaur won't need to press any of the hidden buttons, but I wouldn't sell your guy so short like that. We are all working to figure out the puzzle and until we try are two new ideas, pressing the glyohs in the poem's order and then all at once, any idea is a good one. Also, any updates with the application?? I applied for all three about an hour before deadline on the 28th. So now it's the waiting game. *shrugs* As for Peyote, I don't sell him short once we actually become Trainers, so long as Izzy actually becomes a Trainer (I am concerned on her behalf on this hole "cultural indoctrination" thing. ), but so far things have really been leaning towards a "Wait...what would have happened if you guys didn't select the regional Starters? Also how the other Applicant who apparently completed all of this himself off screen before he sent us those cards ICly did it. (Yes, I overthink things. )

im also not sure the pokemon themselves had to push the buttons either. I think the order is the only thing that mattered. At the moment Peyote at least can fit through the new door.

doctorwebster01, since we're sharing Dex information, and everyone's scanned their own Starter so far, would it be possible to get a list of all four Starters with Genders and Egg Groups, please?
Izzy will be asking about books on Breeding once we get back to the Lab (since she still OOCly needs to get the ability to Breed 'mons in this system, if I understand it correctly), but it would be nice to have it for reference.

Um... Somewhat spammy, but thanks. XD So Peyote is male. Egg Groups: Monster/Plant. Arachnut (gender?) Egg Groups: Bug/Plant Smink (gender?) Egg Groups: Monster/Dragon Capricolt is female. Egg Groups: Field/Water 2 [Darnit! ] I do know someone rolled for their Starter and got a female, but I'm not up to digging through threads to see who that was. EDIT: Also, to the GM: Did I misunderstand the Professor? Did he say we could catch any one 'mon in the Trial area and not just in that final cave?

Thanks, Tazukie! As for what the professor is saying, you can capture as many pokemon you need in the trial area, not just in the final chamber.

Are the Tailow the final chamber then? I would imagine the other pots are off limits, was worried about that being a greed trap mid trial anyway, no reason to believe it would be any different now with the trial over.

Would it be too much to ask people to mention their PC's name at least once per post? We're getting to the point that I need to backtrack a page just to find out who said what... EDIT: Also, I'm not going to post again until our GM does, or my first round of this combat will have taken several minutes instead of seconds, which would be odd. *shrugs* Also, even better paying job whose application process closes on the 7th, so I'll be checking in once or twice a day only until that's off.

Sand Attack's AC is 2, which is what the GM rolled. Peyote has Speed Evade is 1, so it had no effect, right? Also... The things I used last turn increased Evasion by 1, so the target would have been 4, if I'm understanding this system correctly. EDIT: *winces* Well... I'm thinking a 'Ball next round, if the thing's still conscious. I mean... Uh... Go Peyote, whoot! XD EDIT 2: Writer's block on applications is annoying. *sighs* Also, I'm no longer aiming to get Breeder for Izzy, since my new goal for her is to have a team of 8 dual-Types. With no overlap. Which might become impossible, depending on what she ends up catching first, but it still seems like a fun challenge. EDIT 3: I don't know what our GM's ruling on this is, but I'd rules against it in a game I was running. After all, the Capture Specialist is meant to help them capture their Pokémon more easily, no? As far as Izzy knows ICly, she wouldn't legally own the Pokémon without an official Trade, which requires her to catch a 'mon anyway. And she wouldn't have any respect (relationship, or whatever that's called that boosts "Return") with a Traded Pokémon, since she didn't capture it. Starters are, by nature, different. Like their Original Trainers specifically prepared them for the fact that they were meant for a different person to train. Not sure if that makes sense. (I shall now try to poke at that application once more.)

Keno's IC view of Izzy as being "unwilling to accept help" is highly amuzing. Does he ICly know that her not accepting help from him is because he gave her the cold shoulder multiple times already? *facepalms*

I'm happy to be able to play flawed, with the hope of growth in the future. To easy to just be a happy, perfect team from the start.

(So long as they don't lead to serious inter-party conflict, as I've seen before.) EDIT: Also, Squirtles are apparently named that way because their tails are based on squirrels (Random Pokémon "fact" videos for the win!), so maybe that's why your spellchecker wants that so much?

Spell check is a big poke fan! It shouldn't cause major party conflict, and if it seems to, point it out so we can course correct.

Random thought of the day: Do you guys want to share your Pokémon "wishlists" with each other, of just the GM?
Izzy's aiming for just 9 Pokémon total, though I'm not sure if this universe has the hard maximum of 6 Pokémon in a Trainer's Team at any given time, or not.
