Hmh. She better do a good job then! She didn't want to get smote by this fearsome critter. Jane took a deep breath and with a serious mask on her visage and somewhat exaggerated movements picked up the Skitty and placed it her lap. Ana gave the tiny thing a brief glance before settling down again, stealing some more scritches from Jane before it was too late. Then the trainer stared to work! She wasn't a professional peter, more of an eager amateur really, but she was determined to do her best. And as a little capstone she still had those really Rad and Cool ribbons she had found a few weeks ago. They'd be perfect on such a majestic cat! "So! I guess we have time for a chat now if you want. Doesn't look like I'm going anywhere right now at least!" Jane chuckled while she worked. She managed to steal a curious glance or two at the poke-whisperer without losing concentration. "Have you ever been to the Fuji house in Lavender? They run a pokemon adoption and rehabilitation clinic - I bet some of those pokemon would really love someone to talk to... Oh I hope that isn't a too sad topic to star with. Aha we barely met!"

Maeve sits down next to Jane and shakes her head, her long hair echoing her movements. "I haven't. I've only been in Kanto for a little while now, and most of that time has been spent going along the gym routes. It sounds like an interesting place, at least. Maybe I should add a visit to my plan, after I get my license...
"Oh, sorry. I'm rambling a bit. What about you? Are you from Lavender Town?"

"Mm no, though I wouldn't mind being - it's a pretty and serene town after all, but I'm from Sinnoh. Floaroma Town, though my family used to live around here. So it just felt fitting to come her for the gym league challenge! But you are on it too eh?" Jane certainly didn't mind a bit of rambling. In fact, she was prone to it too! "I *ah* we actually have a small club that like to meet occasionally to train and prepare for the gyms. Well mostly the later though! Interested?"

Jane chuckles and adjusts one of the Cool Ribbons. It also gave her time to think. "Hmm I'm not actually sure about the others but I don't think so. I do actually have a Dragalge, Tia, on my team. I could introduce you later if you want."
"Oh and you said you weren't form around either...?"

Before Jane could finish her question, Maeve had already stood up and begun spinning about with joy. "Oh, I can't wait! Dragalge are said to have a gift for adapting to any environment, allowing them to live just about anywhere! And the plumage upon their brow is said to have a soft feel and a different scent based on its health and living conditions! And-"
Maeve pauses, ceasing her spinning about and turning back to face Jane, bowing. "I am so sorry! I got far too carried away there! It just that I love dragon pokémon so much, and everyone in the clan works really hard to care for and train them...Still I went too far there. I'm really, very sorry. It was childish of me to get so worked up just for getting a chance to meet a new dragon up close and personal."

Skitty shoots a glare at the excitable Lucario-in-disguise, but remains seated upon Jane's lap, enjoying the attention. It's uncertain of this... thing...the human put on it, but perhaps it is a sign of its regal bearing? Yes, yes, that could do.

"Aha-ehm. Can't say I've actually sniffed at Tia lately ..." Jane mumbled under a somewhat suspicious cough. But she couldn't help but feel good about Maeve's enthusiasm and she was sure Tia would too. "But no worries! I'm sure Tia will be delighted to meet you too. I'm mhm just going to finish grooming little kitty god here."

After much petting and stroking of the Almighty Skitty God's fur, it eventually decides that a nap is in order and promptly goes to sleep. Looks like the girls won't be getting their verdict anytime soon... unless they feel that 'taking a nap' = 'approval'?

"Oh look, it's quite cute when it sleeps ..." Jane noted and carefully slowed her petting down to an eventual stop. Then she carefully returned Ana to her ball and stood up, carrying the sleeping Skitty with her left arm against her torso. "I think I should head back to town, I need to get an appropriate pokéball for this one. And I should probably check by the pokécenter too, last wild cat I petted had fleas."
"*Ahem* Anyhow. If you want to come along and aren't in a hurry, Tia could join us if you want. I'm sure she won't mind a slow walk."

"I should probably do a bit of looking around this area first for some raw materials; my supplies are running low, and it would probably be better if I have something to sell when I head into the city. Before I forget, though..." Reaching into her pocket, Maeve pulls out her pokédex and flips it open. "Here's my number. Let me know when you're finished shopping and then we can meet up somewhere."

All-right then! Time to figure out what she should do with the adorable sleeping divinity in her arms. Hmm... First she'd need a suitable vessel so she headed towards the pkmn mart to see if they had any Luxury Balls available. Otherwise she'd have to take the bus to the department store. Hopefully Skitty would nap long enough. And once that was taken care of she'd simply head to her ranch to see if it liked its new home.

Thankfully "Skitty God" is much cleaner than that meowth Jane petted before. No poke-fleas this time. The mart also happens to have a handful of Luxury Balls on sale, so better get one while you can.

"Hmm..." Jane briefly considers waking the sleeping pokémon so it could help pick the right ball, but as she feared that the tiny god might want much more then she could afford Jane ditched that thought relatively quickly. Instead she settles for one of the Luxury Balls and heads for her Ranch. Once there she could simply wait for the Skitty to wake up. Oh and she should post an add for a caretaker. She had enough pokémon there that some oversight might be needed!

Well the Skitty seems to like her new ball at least! That's nice. Jane takes that as a good sign and spends most of the lunch hours playing with her pokémon at the ranch. She'll have to make sure Meowth and Skitty play nice - she has heard (and seen) a bit about cat pokémons so better safe then sorry! Then feed a Bluk Berry to Melinchamp the picky Hoothoot. And snuggle with the adorable Sparce-acus. And and and!
Yeah she definitely had enough pokémon on her hand to appreciate another set of hands. And she had a tiny bit of money left over from the Luxury Ball transaction. So she got started on that ad she had been thinking about!
Looking for part-time pokémon handler!
Duties include looking after, playing with and feeding pokémon at my Ranch. Previous experience in pokémon caretaking or babysitting is meriting, but not necessary. Please provide at least one character reference! Please call Jane @123-123777 for more details.
