Riley, so distracted by the atmosphere, takes a second or two to register that she's been bumped at all, let alone by her friend. "Lavender?" She says, smiling slightly. Her face is very pale, almost bluish. Riley blinks a few times and seems to focus. "Wait, what are you doing here?"

Salena continues to brush her way past, turning as she goes down the stairwell. "O-oh you know~! Just... Visiting an old friend! I might ah, talk about that later... Outside of here."

Riley watches the witch-girl hurry away, realizing that its been a while since Lavender wore that costume. Why is my mind working so slow? And then Lavender is gone. Riley turns back to the staircase. There's something so quiet about it. This whole place, so quiet. It's like a false sense of stillness. Because Riley knows- she feels- something moves beneath the surface.
Every step she takes deeper into the tower, the air gets thicker and sweeter in Riley's lungs. She keeps swooning and having to catch herself, because somehow that smell gets to her. What is that? It's getting stronger the farther upward she goes. It's a sickly sweet smell, and Riley's mouth starts watering- but not in the good way. She feels ill, like she'll vomit. But she keeps following the scent, as the dense air beckons her farther up the tower, and she swoons more and more frequently- Suddenly, she hears something behind her!
Riley whirls around, but nothing is there, only that quiet stillness. Deceptive stillness. Looking around, Riley realizes that she doesn't recognize her surroundings. Wait a second...what floor am I on? What time is it? How long have I been here? Something weird is going on, and Riley is really struggling to stay mentally aware and present. Anything rooting her to reality would be helpful. She reaches for her pokedex to check the time and to see if she's gotten any messages from her friends.

According to her Pokedex, time has stopped altogether! AHHHH! WHAT'S HAPPPEN-oh.. no, wait. It just changed again. Nevermind, false alarm! It's only been about twenty minutes since Riley started absent-mindedly ascending the tower. While there is no actual "map" for the inside of the Pokemon Tower, based on the dates on these graves, Riley must be near the top of it. They're well kept though, no thick layers of dust coating everything. Obviously the Tower probably has a Caretaker or some volunteers come by every so often to clean it up. That sickly sweet smell seems to have disappeared, though it is now replaced by an intense pressure; not unlike a weight upon one's shoulders. Riley gets the feeling she's being watched, which, in itself isn't too surprising, considering Ghost Pokemon frequent the tower's upper levels, but this doesn't feel like that. Riley has been around ghosts enough to know what it feels like when they're watching you. No, this is something different.

Back on dry land again Jane hurriedly undid the plastic bag protecting her backpack and started digging trough it. Yes she wanted her warm clothes again - but first her pokédex. Better search trough it while the silhouette was fresh in her mind! And message the others. Not sure exactly how useful that would be, but she *had* to share it with someone or she felt like she was going to burst. HEY!! I JUST SAW A REALLY COOL POKÉMON WALKING ON WATER NEXT TO ROUTE 12!! IT WAS AWESOME!! And then, after she had calmed down a little bit and gotten into her warm and fluffy cape. Uhhh yeah. I *think think think* it was actually a legendary of some sort - it didn't look or behave like a normal pokémon. But I didn't see it too well ... Anyhow! Sorry to bother you all; I just wanted to share!
Uhh see ya all laters at the tower! //Jane With that Jane sat down at the nearest sit-able area and started fine-combing her pokédex after something that fit the description of what she saw. She kept Tia out since she had also seen it. Though the Dragalge couldn't talk, she could nod or at the very least be patient company! Fd7DMgFn2d6 Poké ed to try and ID it! 5d6 Tech ed to try and work the interwebs! Edit2: Wait no the bag-thief comes here probably! Get back here! 2d6·5d6

Well, it looked kinda like a dog... dangit Pikachu, go away! You're not a dog! Oh great, now there are pics that have been edited to look like a fusion of Pikachu and random dog Pokemon. It wasn't even yellow! Ugh.
Okay, trying "blue dog-like Pokemon" got something.. no, that's a Stoutland. They don't look a thing like this did. They also don't run on water last time you checked.
Finally, after many days and many nights of searching (aka - about 20 minutes), you finally come across something: Suicune - The Aurora Pokemon. Associated with the famous "Burned Tower" in Johto, formerly called the "Brass Tower".

Eventually, Salena does make her way outside the tower. It's a great relief, though not one that removes the heavy weight in her bag. She couldn't come back here as long as the stone was in her possession. But it was important that she came here by herself first. Now she knew for certain. She had to find a way to reseal this thing. Salena returns to her apartment. Mom had given her a spare key a long time ago since she usually came back late. Right now, since it was the middle of the day, mom was probably working at Fuji House, so she had the place to herself for a bit. This meant she had a bit of time to change and- Oh! Hey. Messages! Seems like Jane is- Salena stands up and stares broadly at the Pokédex! Ah! So exciting! A Legendary Pokémon Sighting! Ooh! She texts back immediately. Oh heeeey! What did you see?! What did you see?! Come oooon. I need the deets! Mr. Kitty mrowls angrily. Oh right! Food. She probably needed to take care of that. She digs through the pantry. Geeze this place is a mess. It takes a bit until she finally finds a can of cat food and politely dumps it into Mr. Kitty's bowl. Now then she just needed to- Gyah! "DREEEEEEE!!!" Cries Mrs. Christie screaming directly into Salena's ears. Salena topples backwards and sends one of kitchen chairs flying. "Gah! No ghosts in the house! Come on, you know better!" Chides an annoyed Salena. The ghost smirks. Of course she did. That was what made breaking the rule so much fun! It takes a moment set everything back into place, but hang on. Mrs. Christie continued to watch her expectantly floating about the house in an excited way. Did she want something or...? Salena locks eyes with her. They were filled with well-intentioned mischief. Oh yeah. She wanted something alright. Food? No, she gets food by scaring people. And Mrs. Christie just scared the dickens out of her, so she should be ok for a bit. Then what could she... Mrs. Christie hovers near Salena's bag? Oh heavens no! They weren't going to be using the Keystone for anything- Oh! Right! Right! Salena marches over to her bag and draws out a simple, purple stone. Yes! That was the ticket! Now she just needed to hold it to Mrs. Christie and- --- Oh. There goes another. Mr. Kitty watches as Trainer Salena presents the Dusk Stone to the screeching one. His ears fold back instinctively. The horrid little ghost thing does in fact scream more. Her feline eyes catch the intricacies of the moment. Stone and Pokémon meet. Short, flowing arks of dark energy like electricity flow into the Misdreavus, kick starting the process. Her body elongates, stretching down from what would be her neck. Her chest jewel sharpens and takes in more energy. Her head becomes the mockery of a hat, flowing outwards in a disk shape and a high pitched top. Coloration changes, a dark purple replacing the dark shades of azure blue. Lips become lined with a soft scent of red. It is finished. Trainer Salena roars with happiness, praising her newly evolved Pokémon's form and beauty. The lass picks up her Pokédex and starts texting; probably to the one who gave her the stone in the first place. Probably something like; Joy sounds! Ahaha! Jane! Jane! I used that stone you gave me! Thank you very much for that! Mrs. Christie looks beautiful! Or maybe. Squeeeee! <3<3<3 The small cat frowns. She couldn't pretend to understand human culture. Mr. Kitty bats her bowl off to the side. She wasn't that hungry anyways. Not anymore. Her eyes draw upwards. Agatha was staring at her. Haughty. Impetuous. Spiteful. She quietly curls her tail around herself and Mr. Kitty stares back.

Riley feels better now that the sickly-sweet scent is mysteriously gone- what came over her?- and now all that's left is the thick, still air that hangs menacingly around her. It definitely feels like there's another presence in this room- one that Riley can't recognize. Even if it isn't a pokemon, however, Riley isn't afraid. Ghost stories have never spooked her, since they're probably just about people like herself. Her curiosity takes over, and Riley decides to investigate the presence that she feels watching her.
She takes off her backpack and inhales a deep breath of heavy air. Then, she blazes with purple aura, converting instantly into her ghoulish form. The two glowing hollows that were her eyes now search the room around her, looking for a sign of life, death, anything. She isn't too sure how to do this, but...she tries also to call out with her aura. She does her best to reach for anything that could be here in this room.

The strangest thing is, the 'presence' feels at once like a Pokemon and a human. So strange. Just as Riley begins the process of puzzling this out, something emerges from the shadows. It looks like.. a person? A person with a frightening, blood-red Honedge literally attached to her arm. Almost soulless blue eyes stare out at you from beneath the cowl of her hoodie. Their "aura" feels similar to your own.. but different at the same time.
"You..you are like me? No.. similar, but different... Why are you here, human?"
The girl's voice is quiet, almost raspy, like she doesn't use it frequently.

Riley is frozen in place, inspecting the bizarre figure. "I'm...not actually sure. Something came over me." Riley says in her distorted, echoing voice. She cannot take her hollow eyes off of the hooded figure. "Who are you?"

"I am me." The figure states. "I don't have a human name. However, I can sense an energy in you that is not so different from my own. Your current form is also abnormal for a human. I imagine you have many questions about this ability. I can help you understand your dual nature, but you must come with me and leave this life behind. Forever."

"Forever?" Riley asks herself. That word has such finality to it, that Riley is immediately repulsed. But the more she thinks about it, the more she wonders whether the "life" she'd leave is really so worth saving. Maybe it's best to lose this life in order to save a better one. What is my life, anyway? Riley's mind goes over all the years of feeling like an outcast. She's learnt everything she could about her powers on her own. But suddenly, here's an opportunity- maybe even the one she's been waiting for?- to discover what she really is. Because Riley knows she's not just a human, she's something else, too. Something different. There seems to be no escaping it- Riley has always and probably will always feel like she doesn't belong here. I've been wandering through this world like a restless spirit, she realizes. I haven't found my place, maybe because it's not here to find.
Enough wandering. Riley decides. She fixes her gaze on those soft blue eyes and says, almost to her own surprise: "Let's go."

"Mrrrroooooow!" Mr. Kitty snarls, each hair of it's back going up on end. "What? What's the matter?" Salena asks. She marches over to pick up the cat and- Ow! Mr. Kitty bites her hand hard, then alights to the table. Her eyes are dead focused on the Pokémon Tower. Was... Something going on there? It wasn't like her to be acting like this. Maybe she should go. Salena grabs her bag. Salena turns to go, only to be stopped by Mrs. Christie. She shook her head quietly. No. Don't go. Within a few moments, Mr. Kitty's spell had passed. The small cat hopped off the table again and started nibbling a bit at her food. Whatever did happen, she no longer cared. "Mis." Calls Mrs. Christie. A tendril of her dress wraps around Salena's hand. O-oh! Right. It was bleeding a little. She just needed to wash that up and- *sniff* Oh dear. It was a just a little blood. Why was she crying? This was- This was no good! After wrapping her hand up in a little bandage, she finally gets up and out of the apartment again. There were a few little extra things she wanted to do, like have a little battle and make use of the Tutor services. Tutoring Log Mystical Fire - 1000 Giga Drain - 2000 A small battle won, she gets on with the rest of her day by shooting Raven, Riley, and Jane a text. Hey! Since it's about that time, I think we should meet up in front Fuji House. From there we can talk about the tower, if you guys would like. See you then! And thus, having said this, Salena makes her way to the Fuji House. She wasn't planning on going inside, but she figured it would be safer to meet there than the Pokémon Center where a lot of weakened Pokémon might be. That was... Inviting disaster.

"Hey! How are you doing today?" Salena says after giving her comrade a tiny little wave. She was back to normal clothes now, though she wished she was back in business attire. But, mom sort of frowned on that sort of thing around Fuji House so...

Salena gives Raven a quizzical expression. They went over this right? At the library? Surely they - Oooh. "Right. You weren't there for that."
Looking both ways, Salena checks for bystanders. None. Ok. She opens her bag and reveals the keystone, bra and all. "This is called an Odd Keystone. It's an occult stone that absorbs the souls of the dead and dying and imprisons them within. It's said that when enough souls are collected, it manifests as the Pokémon Spiritomb. We've been looking for a way to stop the process."
She shifts uncomfortably and closes up the bag. "We had planned to visit the tower. But I don't think that's a good idea anymore. At least, not with this stone."

"I don't know much about Occultism, but I never liked the idea of the Pokemon Spiritomb. That being said, I don't think you can stop it, short of sealing it away like they did in Sinnoh. You know, that legend that everyone's heard at least once. The only other thing I can think of is destroying the stone itself, but I don't know if that's possible either."

"I don't think destroying it is the way to go. If was as simple as hitting it with a bigger rock and crushing it, that would be cool. But I can only imagine that releasing that many spirits at once is dangerous. Salena continues.
"But ah... You might want to tell me a little more about this sealing process. I've know a lot about local legends, but not so much about a Pokemon like Spiritomb."

Eventually an exhausted Jane found herself back at the shore. Bleh water. Bleh ducks. Bleh cold. She wrapped herself tightly in her warm cape, not caring that it too would quickly become soaked. Then she also sent out most of her pokémon so she could cuddle herself warm, while going over her dex-messages. I think it was Suicune! It really looks like it! It was really pretty and it sorta juuuust lingered long enough for me to get a quick look before racing away. Managed to find it twice though! Almost like some sort of hide-and-seek. It was really cool!
Also ... I had a run-in with some Golducks. I'm ok, but everything I wear is soaked trough and trough. I'll need to head to the pokécenter and change so I might be a bit late. Sorry!
//Jane
ps - Glad that she liked the stone. Can't wait to see her new form : ) Then, after enjoying just sitting still for a moment, Jane gets up and heads to the pokécenter so she could get dried up and into a new set of clothes. And restore Ana from that nasty Confusion damage. Hopefully the others wouldn't have to wait too long!
