Lowell raised his hands at that, quite surprised by the response.
"Wow, who shat on your cereal? I happen to think I look fantastic. Don't sound like I'm the one with the issues, honestly. And I'm already sitting down"

Song waved off the offer to sit, having watched the banter between the two. "I prefer to stand." It was a simple enough statement but there was a gravity to it. It couldn’t be helped, considering how long she had been confined to laying or sitting.
The athletic woman rocked back on her heels slightly to show she wasn’t in a threading stance. "So, trainers one and all then?" She eyed the psychic as she asked, being the only one Song was unsure of. If she could teleport, it wasn’t beyond the scope to move the shake too.

"Merely pointing out that I'm a stranger to you and don't feel like hearing your problems. At least not right now." She turned her head back towards Song at her question. "Yeah, I'm a trainer. What of it?"

Lowell shrugged. "Just saying, you're not gonna have the best of luck with the psychic razzle-dazzle. Ain't no problem to tell"
At Song's prompt he just waved a hand over the Leavanny that was still resting her head on his lap.

"There’s nothing ‘of it’, I simply don’t like making assumptions." Song gave a cheerful smile and her tone was chipper now.
"Bug types are so varied. I can see why people enjoy them." She seemed to appraise the Pokémon on the boy’s lap.

"Yeah, the show is the best part." Jane agrees and goes quiet. That milkshake really proved it - magic. Saffron huh? Well well. (Also it really did look refreshing.) Her hands played with a string of beads while she added this latest piece of news to the already large 'things that happened today that I need to think about' pile.
"You know what? Sitting down looks comfy." she replied to the prompt and plopped herself down on the bench, opposite side of the magical girl. That way she had a good view of it all *and* she could really double check that there were no hidden wires. Not that she thought that anymore, but just in case. It would be a really impressive trick! Hmm.
"So bugs huh? Well Leavanny is cute at least; I'll go that far." Jane offered once caught up to the conversation. Now she started to regret her seating arrangement - the urge to pat resting-bug was rising. Oh well. "And I like how crafty they are; making cloaks and all. Wish there were many more pokemon like that! Imagine a whole team of building-mons, raising a castle on the battlefield or something!"

Another sip of the shake, another sigh. Slowly, lazily, the girl uncrossed and recrossed her legs the other way as the sane seeming one sat herself down and began to talk. She seemed to be the regular normal type of person, all things considered, and normally Janice wouldn't bother with such mundanity - buuuut she'd put on a show with the Zapdos and now she's attracted all these other trainers, herself included!
"I have to say, I'd take a penthouse over a castle any day. But you are right, the little thing is rather cute, isn't it?" She replied to Jane, allowing her gaze to fall upon the girl proper for the first time. "I'm not the biggest fan of bugs, myself, but they do have a charm to them, do they not?"

"I wouldn't call Clair little anymore, but she was the tiniest thing when I first got her" Lowell said. "My family runs a honey farm, so I guess I kinda developed an affinity for Bug-types. Plus, they're pretty much the only creatures as prone to climbing things as I am"
All the while, Clair was fixing herself a new jacket with leaves from the nearby trees. Lowell fixed his posture a bit before making a laid-back wave towards the Leavanny as if to say 'here's your example'
"Leavanny are more fashionistas than builders, honestly. I'd say Crustle or any of the arachnids are the builders of the Bug-type roster"
Once Clair was satisfied she rested her head in Lowell's lap again, now wearing what seemed to be a leaf-woven version of a hooded vest.

"Hmh. I actually think I'd build a stage. I mean, that adds a certain atmosphere to any battle doesn't it?" Jane chuckled and closed her eyes for a moment. "Plus I've always wanted to drop one of those big curtains over someone!"

"Oh and those stage trap doors! ...Or maybe the hooks that yank people off stage if they're bad. I've never seen that happen though, I think that's just a plot item for TV shows." Song seemed to enjoy the idea of a battle stage. It seemed strange that no gym leader had ever thought of that. With all of their different personalities, surely one loved stage performance?

"Something to do if you ever become a Gym Leader, perhaps. Or famous." She took another annoying, lazy sip, before seeming to realise something. "O-oh! Right! Aha-ahahahaha! I haven't even introduced myself, of course!" She tossed the milkshake out of her hand over the back of the bench, only for the spinning half full cup to slow to a crawl and eventually stop in midair.
"My name is Aurora Fullbright, and it's a pleasure to meet you all!" Janice declared, with a wide beaming smile, hands on her hips. "Don't mind the milkshake, it won't make a mess if you won't think it will!"

"That's still way unnecessary, though" Lowell said, looking at the frozen milkshake. "What happened to good ol' placing the milkshake on the floor?"
He shook his head. Psychics, bah.
"I'm Lowell Willingham. Pleasure to meet y'all"

"Song Qian." Song wasn't sure if they had overheard that part of the conversation, so she reintroduced herself to the two. She smiled sweetly and tilted her slightly at the floating milkshake.

Well that was a challenge if she had ever heard one. Tip over tip over tip over tip over! Jane thought repeatedly to herself. Worth a shot right?
"I'm Jane." she repeated, sounding mildly distracted. Damn think hadn't fallen over yet! Oh well. "...And I'm going to have to see if there's any cheap carpenters around, dammit! But I'm sure I wouldn't have to worry about accidentally becoming a Gym Leader anytime soon right? Still plenty of badges to go before I would even qualify for the league. What about you guys? Are you 'there yet'?"

"Not I. Just completed my third. Maelstrom, Toxic, and Iron Fist." Song seemed particularly proud of the last badge. In fact, if one looked close enough, bruises could be seen on her shins and forearms, along with skin missing from her knuckles and knees.

"Oh, we're at the same number then." Jane grins and flashes her three badges; the Desert, Maelstrom and Lightning ones. "Maybe we should exchange some tips! I heard that the Toxic one is an ... experience. Brr. Have been putting that one off. I've been thinking about the Iron Fist one instead but I'm not looking forward to being beat up either. Oh well the things we sacrifice for glory right?!"

"Got three myself. Desert, Maelstrom, Toxic. Tried to blitz the more difficult type matchups for bug early, where the differences in power are less notable"
He pulled out his own badge case, showing the aforementioned badges.
"Desert was a pain. Maelstrom was pretty straightforward, and Toxic was fun. Heck, if the leader didn't dislike bugs so much I'd have stayed there training a bit. The 2nd-in-command did give me some pointers, tho"

"Oh? Oh, those badges." Janice steepled her fingers in apparent thought. "The first three. Sandstorm, Maelstrom and Lightning. I haven't challenged this place's gym yet, but I'm let to believe I'll enjoy an advantage." She looked back at the Jane girl with her brilliant eyes, a small smirk playing across her features. "Something to be said for overwhelming psychic power. My battle plan so far has been delightfully simple."

"I'm all for sharing information. I have a bingo book of all of the moves, places, and Pokemon that I've fought against. I participate directly experience each technique and better learn to utilize them myself or at least defend against them." Song shifted her weight slightly, the idea of hearing about other gyms amped her up.

"From what I've heard, the Toxic gym is almost too fun." Jane sighs and recalls what Lavender told her. Ah well another day! "Not that I can complain, I've been known to indulge in some shenanigans myself. Just a little here and there..."
"No flying milkshakes though, not yet." She leaned back a bit and shot Janice a grin. "Hmh. Maybe figure out a way to get a Slurpuff Levitate or Magnet Rise?"
"Oh but that's something for future me! Right now I think I need another training partner; mine had to take care of some family business it seemed." Jane took a deep breath and straightened up. She wanted to see how the others would react to her suggestion. "And, you know, we all seem to be on about the same level. Soooo... Thoughts?"
---edit---
"Oh, like a scrapbook? Or something?" Jane shifted around and gave Song a long hard look over, trying to spot this archive of pokémon battle. Writing down things so she could evaluate them for later was something she had thought about herself, but she could only motivate herself to write a few lines here and there in her diary. Naturally, she was curious to see how someone more driven had done things. "Sounds really handy!"
