"How rude!" Jane exclaims loudly. How dare they suggest that poor Lavender wasn't a *real* fan just because she doesn't know everything about Band Name?! How were she even supposed to become a fan with such a catch 22! Jane suggests that the unhelpful person should be more helpful and let Lavender continue on her Journey to fan-dom Nirvana. Or else Jane would have to crush them (in a pokémon battle!).

"Oho! If you're battling her, you better grab a friend, for I too have my stake in this!" Salena claims, striking a striking pose alongside Jane. "We're the Wicked Sisters! And we're going to teach you a lesson in respecting your youth!"

Salena recalls the last Mrs. Christie with a sigh. Well. That went bad. Still. Guess nobody expects the thunder bird? Maybe.
"Well, at least we can still maybe track them down at-" He Pokedex rings quietly. Oh? Not often that someone would call and- Oh. Salena's hand floats up to her neck, resting there as her eyes recognize the caller. "A-ah... Sorry Jane, I might want to take this real fast."

The two guys seem pretty pleased with themselves for their victory, however narrow it may have been. Guy #2 praises Zapdos for its hard work in taking out the Mawile and the Gourgeist. He recalls it. By now, a crowd had gathered around to watch the battle, likely attracted by the presence of a Legendary Pokemon. A few of them praise/congratulate the girls on doing so well against that weird blue scyther and a Legendary Bird. Even the two guys are impressed. They aren't "sore winners" or anything. They can be pleasant when they wish to be.
Jane earns 94 Poke XP.

Ah! The press of the crowd certainly came in fast as soon as the battle was over. Her hand flutters. Ah. This was not a good time. This was not a good time. No. She needed to take this call, and she needed to take it now. "E-excuse me."
She forces herself out of the crowd and answers. Oh. Yeah. That was him all right. "Hey... Dad."
The call blankets everything, the sounds of the crowd, the smell of scorched earth; everything was gone. Just Salena on the phone, talking to her dad. No. Not dad. Her biological father. It was hard to think of him as a dad when he never there. No birthday parties. No kind words. Just silence. Just nothing! So why now damn it!? Why the hell now?
"Yeah. I'll stop by."
Love you too? Not. Bloody. Likely. With a loud, crack her Pokédex slams shut. The real world fades in little by little as she regains her senses. "S-sorry Jane. I need to head back to Lavender Town... Alone this time."

Admiration and a bit of praise was nice, but it had been nicer if they won. Oh well! Jane sighed a little and smiled at the crowd and their opponents. No need to be a sore loser! Visibly at least ...
Lavender didn't seem to be holding up so well though. No wait - there were something else. Jane zoomed over to her pale ghostly friend to see what she could do. And that wasn't much sadly except to say goodbye (for now?) and make her promise to chat a bit at least. "I'll even make sure to send you a real letter Lavender!"
---
After that Jane wasn't sure exactly what to do. Her next step, generally, would be that noxious gym she had been stalling for so long. But she really didn't feel like it right now. Instead she went looking for somewhere comfy to sit and just waste a few hours playing with her pokémon - after a quick trip to the pokécenter of course!

"Salena." She says quietly. "Salena is more like my real name. And I'll be happy to respond."
And thus, Salena left the group once and for all. Before parting, she gives back Jane one of her rainbow gems and impresses upon her Mrs. Christie. Jane was a kindred spirit in that they both loved magic, and Salena knew that of her Pokémon, Mrs. Christie would hate not battling the most. So it was a good fit! Having passed off one of her precious partners, she departs, once and for all.
Mrs. Christie, get! 1518 EXP, Quirky Nature. Moves are Pain Split, Spite, Mystical Fire, Destiny Bond, Dazzling Gleam, Hex. Levitate and Magician are her abilities.

"Ah. Salena. Lavender. If it's okay I'll just use both!" Jane smiled at her departing friend and went for a hug. "Take care of yourself! And we might see eachother at the ranch sometime yeah? Goodbye for now!"

Song quietly watched the battle that had taken place. She almost fainted at the sight of the legendary bird. How wonderful! Such a perfect specimen to stumble across, at a concert of all things! She slowed her rapid collection of thoughts and took a deep breath. Song cataloged the bird into her collection of profiles. Better to be prepared, should she ever have the chance to battle against one herself.
The girl that had battled the Zapdos had done amazingly well, all things considered. Most people would have forfeited at it being released. As the crowd dispersed, she took a chance and approached the girl. "Hey. I have to commend you on that battle. It took a lot of guts to face down that bird! So random... a legendary at a concert. You would have had the victory for sure without that." She put forth her best friendly smile. "I'm Song, by the way."

In the crowd that was beginning to form around the thunderbird-using two men, a hooded figure stepped between the chatting onlookers. Sidestepping an old lady, dancing around a child the figure looked over at the park bench for a moment, a flash of pink visible under the hood's brim. Then it was gone, a random bystander in a uninteresting crowd. Nothing too much to worry about, just another day, just another onlooker-
There! Again, closer now to the two girls who had just started talking. Another look at the bench, and now a flash of.... gold? Again, it disappeared into the edges of the crowd. Probably just jewellery or glasses or something. Maybe even teeth! Everyone has a story to tell, after all, even if it's not the one being told in this particular instance. Back to the fated meeting of the two girls it is, one standing and one seated as the curious nobody fades from mem-
Janice Halten was sat on the bench next to the mystery girl, her facemask down and a milkshake in her hand. She made no attempt to say hello or anything, just another bystander who... had... not been sitting in that bench... literally a second ago....

Once most of the crowd was gone Lowell moved to stand under a tree's shadow, not too far from where the two girls was making a ruckus. The battle was rather impressive, if he was being honest, but he wasn't one to just randomly butt into what had looked like an emotional goodbye. He knocked the hood of his jacket back and sighed as he let the wind hit his face. Having to constantly care about sunlight was such a hassle.
He released Clair, letting the Leavanny rest its head on his lap as he looked around the park. Pockets of green like this one were one of the few things that kept him from going completely nuts when he was in Saffron. He should honestly go pay his parents a visit, let them know he was in town.
Then a third girl just randomly appeared, making both him and Clair turn their heads in abject confusion. Like, he knew psychics were a thing but seeing it sure was something else.
"Uh... Um..." he kinda said, blinking. "Excuse me, where'd you buy the shake? I'm feeling kinda thirsty myself"

Jane watched Lavender/Salena depart with sadness. It was never fun to say goodbye, especially when they just had such a low note. Oh well. It happens. she told herself and tried to think of some clever way to defeat a Zapdos. Issue rubber boots to everyone? Would that even work? Well, only one way to find out! But she would need an electric type. Or..
"Oh?" Jane snapped out of her plotting. "Hello! Thanks for the kind words; but it wasn't as if we could have ran right?"
(Well probably but that'd look silly!)
"I'm Jane! Nice to meet you Song. Were you here for the music?" She smiled apologetically and nodded in the direction of the disappearing Lavender. "We were *uh* trying to get an autograph, but *eh* Salena had to go. Mmm-oh. This might be a weird question - but just in case - did you notice any smoke or anything just now?"
I mean that milkshake-girl must have gotten there *somehow*! And I can't see the mirror ...

Song seemed to have missed the question. Her eyes measured the masked girl that had appeared suddenly. There was a slight shift in her stance and her hands flexed as she waited for the inevitable attack. The boy asking about the milkshake broke the tension. Song turned back to her own conversation. "I came to the City to challenge the Gym actually. I got done and heard about the show. Don’t like the music much but I’m a sucker for stage performances. No, no smoke."

The masked girl removed the straw from her mouth, opening her eyes to look at the kinda-sorta albino boy who had asked her the question. There was nothing sinister about her gaze - in fact, there wasn't much to it at all, really. It's pretty hard to read someone's intent when the middle of their eye is a reflective gold colour. The two gleaming headlights locked onto the boy as he asked about the shake.
"Oh, this little thing? Just a concert stall. Hot day, you understand..." Her eyes flicked to the two girls next to her, specifically up at the standing one. Seemed rather tense, didn't they? Honestly! Some people nowadays wouldn't know decorum if they were magically bound in a cage of falsehood and hit with a bronze living bell inscribed with the rules of etiquette. And then the girl asked about smoke and mirrors! Smoke and mirrors, as if she would need to use trickery to make reality kneel before her!
"Well, I've been sat here watching your little escapade with the Thunderbird and I haven't seen any smoke and mirrors." She remarked indifferently, taking another sip of her milkshake and letting out a soft satisfied sigh as she leaned back on the bench, absentmindedly swirling her shake."You look pretty tense up there, lady. Maybe you should try taking it easy. Take a seat, there's plenty of room."

Lowell shook his head. Well, of all places to find a pint-sized teleporter it definitely was Saffron. Sabrina had really normalized the perception of psychic power during her time as a Gym Leader. His dad had often told him tales of the Fighting and Psychic rivalry between the gyms in Saffron.
He shrugged and, feeling a little playful, gave Clair a little headnod towards the milkshake. The Leavanny turned and shot a thread of silk, snatching the milkshake from the small girl's hands and straight into Lowell's hand.
"Hmm, this looks pretty good, I might have to get some later. Give it back to you if you do your trick again, deal?"

"I'm not some street entertainer, you know." The girl retorted, but her laidback and slightly smug expression didn't change as she snapped her fingers and with a hidden chirp, the shake whipped back into her hand by an unseen force. She took another sip, and let out another little sigh - but this one sounded a little chiding. "Fan of bugs, I see. Well, to each their own." the girl idly commented, turning her golden eyes back to the boy once more.

Lowell just shook his head, grinning.
"I'm fine with that. This is Saffron, sugar, you ain't gonna surprise anyone with psychic tricks. They're not really entertainment anymore"
His smile turned a bit sad as he diverted his eyes from her gaze to stare at the rustling leaves.
"I'm more liable to be the entertainment or get stares than you are, and I'm from this city"

For the first time, her eyes gave a flicker of emotion, her eyebrows furrowed slightly as she folded her arms. Oh, boy. Oh, boy oh boy.
"Wear your heart on your sleeve too, eh? Bad strategy, if you ask me - you know, the stranger you just met and yet are very unsubtly hinting that you have issues about how you look - but well, life's what you make of it I suppose. You want to let other people's judgement of your terrible crime of being kinda pale colour your life, you do you." Her eyes tracked back over to the two girls, and back to the boy. "Maybe you should take a seat too, while you're at it. Let's all just chill out."
