It took a bit for Miguel to process that comment. Oh, right. Nori meant seaweed in Japanese, didn't it? "Ah, my apologies to Miss Noriko. I did not mean to presume being so familiar." He looked honestly apologetic. "The meanings of words in Japanese don't always come to me as easily as they do in my mother tongue and I didn't quite realize the meaning either until Miss Ciara over there reminded me."
Nori seems preeeeeeety embarrassed what she thought was a kick ass noble challenge got shot down hard by both her opponent and her bestest friend in the world. Red faced, her posture becomes more reserved as she starts dialing it back
"Fine . . . You're lucky Ciara's so kind. You would've lost in an instant"
"Nori, you cry when we play punch you"
Izumi returns to her conversation with Suzume
"A cornett player? That explains it. I'm a celloist. Woodwinds and Brass don't usually play together at high school level. I assume you participate in the marching band?"
Mother takes a step forward, arm wrapped around Miguel's
"Perhaps we should continue talking INSIDE the festival? It seems rude for us to just be sitting here not buying anything"
The convenience store clerk nods viciously. The school festival welcomes you with plenty of kind greetings from eager young students. Suzume and Ciara will notice plenty of friends and acquaintances running around in every sort of costume available. While the festival holds a fair share of stereotypical exhibits; Maid cafes, haunted houses, and plenty of food stands; there's also an art gallery, career recruitment center, and science fair to exhibit the school's academic pursuits. You've each received a text stating that for the time being, it would be best to just blend in, grab a friend or two, and enjoy the festival, while trying your best to casually happen upon the student council president.
Of course fair maiden! But be warned, the angels blessed me with an inspiration that could light a whole new star in the sky! As such! My garb may cause you to not recognize me~
As Suzume enters the science fair, she's immediately met with a wide array of large experiments and mechanisms. Tesla like electrical structures, large cases filled with mice and cats, there even seems to be a robot in a maid outfit offering lemon bars to people. It's also yelling "HAIL SATAN" after you take one, so it's kind of an odd bot. Suzume may look around, but doesn't happen upon her friend at first. That is, until she feels something leap onto her back, crashing them both to the ground.
After her face met floor, Suzume had the opportunity to look at the attacker above her. Sitting proudly on top of her was her best friend Varuna dressed in a witch costume, and very proud of it
"Sounds like a good idea to me." And that was that.
Once they were in the festival, Miguel pretty much spent the time with Mother. He had legitimately no excuse to go off on his own unlike everyone else -and in fact would probably be horribly inconspicuous if he even bothered to try given that he was over twenty in an area filled mostly with teenagers, and a foreigner in a business suit at that- so instead he enjoyed what sights he could, with the best one being his blonde 'wife'.
"Which one do you think would be the first one to find what they're looking for, her- Beautiful?" He asked as he glanced at her with a wry smile, forgetting himself for a moment and almost slipping by switching to another word in another language before catching himself.
Jericha takes it upon herself to head down towards the gym, and track to find people playing a variety of sports. It seems her disguise pays off as she is able to run a few of the sports like kickball, relay races, flag football, volleyball, and even non-conventional activities. She even cheekily enters teachers vs student games, only to crush any, and all competition. She walks around the school grounds in posession of various medals, small trophies, and ribbons. It turned out to be a pretty good time....Why did they come here in the first place?....
Miguel looks absolutely dashing in his blazer, and the family man look seemed to suit him well. He had Mother hanging off his arm, and Sparrow by his side, making him seem like the most admirable family man. Sparrow seems to be more attentive of his surroundings while Mother is keeping up appearances. Sparrow is quick to respond to Miguel. He is not content with how close Miguel and Mother are right now
"Suzume and Ciara has the highest chances of meeting this student council president as peers. Though I imagine Ciara would be more approachable as opposed to Suzume, who's apparently gained some renown for standing up to bullies, which would be the perfect MO for this character"
"I'd still put some money on us. I've gotten to talk with the girl over the phone. She seemed very nice. VERY polite. Perhaps she would enjoy having a successful adult as a peer for a day? Of course FINDING her is the hard part there. And Miguel, I want to thank you for playing along with all this. When I was first applying for my job, I panicked in the interview and told them I had a husband and kid and all that to seem like I had all my stuff together, and I've kind of been riding on that lie for 2 years now. I was scared that this whole school thing might make it in some kids blog or a local paper and people would be asking where my husband was so . . . I'm pretty sure this was the appropriate approach?"
Ciara and her friends attend the various stalls and exhibits. The general stuff of course; Takoyaki, Haunted House, a wall of drawings of corgis that wasn't initially planned, but here we are. It was nice. During her escapades, Ciara saw plenty of members of the student council. Weary and agitated, these young men and women seem to act in total contrast of the tone of the festival. Thus far there are 3 that she can confirm are approachable right now.
1) A young woman operating the front of a maid cafe
2) A young man scribbling in a panicky way in his notebook
3) Another young man, freshman, crying in the corner, who people are too awkward to approach
Jericha has managed to establish herself as the queen of the sports world here at the festival. There is a flock of elementary school kids near her at all times, gawking at her skill and athletics. Amongst the constant praise from pre teens, there is also Easter, who looks very out of place amongst the children, but is cheering with just as much energy. Eventually one of the other PE teachers comes to talk to her. An elderly man, maybe late 50s, with a charming smile and red jumpsuit
"Can't say I've seen you around here. What school do you work for? Oh, and I'm Coach Saito. I run the Volleyball club here."
"Varuna! Have you been binging anime again." Suzume says haughtily as she stands back up and dusts off. "Without me? You know I wanted to watch that witch one. It looks so good! Now I'll have to binge it just to catch up!" Of course, she knew Varuna would have it all watched the moment she said she was too busy that weekend. "That costume looks great though, how long did that take you?"
Suzume suddenly thought of Varuna casting magic in Mythos. She couldn't tell if the thought was hilarious or terrifying. "So, seen anything cool at the festival yet?"
Varuna gets off her bestest friend in the history of everything and strikes a traditional cool anime girl pose.
"Fu-fu-fu~ So the noble knight saw through my facade with ease? I expect nothing less from such a powerful companion. You know, nobody else seemed to know who I was cosplaying. They just gawk at me like they've never heard of Yo Yoshinari. Who are you playing as? AUDIBLE GASP! Are you a rough and rowdy high school girl who's school uniform has become sentient and occasionally contorts into more risque forms in dire situations?!"
"I sure hope not. I'm just in uniform. Like we're meant to be. You better hope the teachers don't recognize you're from this school." Suzume says, a little exasperated and all too familiar with these antics.
Jericha waves to her adoring fans, and Easter. Heh....So much for blending in... She then comes to a halt when she is approached by this red old man. If now was the time to blend in, she should do it now. "Oh!...Hey there. I'm Coach...Ari. And, I'm aaa....What was it?...A substitute! Yup! Subbing right now till I get a full time position!"
Ciara frowned a bit and approached the crying young man. She knew Noriko would probably follow her lead and Izumi would run interference to allow her to see what was wrong. She did make a note to talk to the panicked youth with the notebook.
"What's wrong?" she asked. She was sure she'd get some looks for her action, but she really didn't care much.
"Coach Ari huh? Well you're definitely doing a better job than some of my other guys. Can't get them to motivate these kids just to get up. Hm . . . you know, I think we're losing one pretty soon. She's going backpacking or something like that. You think you'd like to be full time?"
As for Ciara's boy, he looks startled when she actually approaches him. He panics as he looks up, wipes his eyes quickly and tries to walk away.
"N-n-nothing. I'm fine. Y-you should just go enjoy the festival . . ."
Miguel nodded at Sparrow. That was most likely true, especially with the two's MOs and that of the supposed president. If it weren't for Beautiful needing to play family so that he and Sparrow could tag along as extra sets of eyes, he'd wonder why he was even here in the first place.
Then she spoke up, and his eyebrows shot up at her admission. She lied about having a husband and kids... for two years? But wasn't Easter her sister? Maybe Sparrow could count if they thought she was in her thirties or something --because the other option dredged up even more dangerous questions and judgments-- or that she adopted because of an open heart or whatever --pediatrians could get away with that, right?-- but it'd be harder to lie about age when school records are in question or something? But then again he didn't quite perfectly understand how the legal system and stuff worked in San Fransokyo quite yet.
"You mean to tell me that they either never checked your records for an official marriage license or you actually forged one sometime before or after that interview?" Miguel honestly looked surprised as he lowered his voice and leaned in so that so at most, only Beautiful and Sparrow could hear him. "I'm impressed. How'd you get away with that?"

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.
Dec 2, 2019 19:05:30 GMT
but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

i wanted to join a living server on roll20 to learn the system but they ignored my application for 2 weeks then blocked me

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
