2 weeks have passed since the event with the toad creature in the dark souls inspired church of despair. You've had your communications with your pokemon, Ciara was highly praised by Mother and received an invitation to be a youth speaker, and you've all received specific instructions on what to wear.
Ciara, ideally either your school uniform, or something professional
Suzume, you're school uniform . . . for obvious reasons
Jericha: Gym clothes. You'll be posing as a gym teacher
Miguel. Office apparel.
You've all been told to arrive at the school an hour before the festival begins. The meeting place is a convenience store right outside the school. From there you can already see a number of booths, banners, and attractions being set up. The school seems pretty nice, but there's no way it could normally afford someone this nice.
As you arrive at the convenience store, you'll happen upon Mother in her doctor's coat, Sparrow, sour and dressed in what seems to be an middle school uniform, and Easter wearing some weird hipster garb that makes her stand out like a giant orange wearing fire crackers taped to it's orange eyeballs.
Suzume was somewhat lamenting that since this was her school she didn't get to be undercover and get a backstory. Probably for the best, she wouldn't want to mess it up. Plus she can act as the local expert. She arrived at the convenience store and looked around and had to stifle a laugh at Sparrow and his current expression. "Hi there!" She said, walking over to them.
Mother turns with a smile and a wave. Easter turns revealing that she's stuffing a large assortment of convenience store junk food down her throat, and Sparrow gets embarrassed being seen in his uniform, and turns away from Suzume
"SUZUUUUUUUUMEEEEEEE!!!!! LOOK! They have limited edition cupcakes with cat faces on them! YOU CAN LITERALLY DEVOUR A CAT FOR BREAKFAST!!!"
Of course his instructions were the vaguest. Mother was definitely having fun with this for sure. If he wasn't fond of such shenanigans himself, he might've been offended. As it was, he was only terribly amused and curious as to what she had in store for him that required such vagueness. Either way it should prove to be interesting.
So on the scheduled day, Miguel arrived at the convenience store dressed in one of his business suits. It was a simple black three piece suit with a light gray polo shirt and a black tie with a green stripe in the middle. He was just in time to hear that last statement, prompting him to raise an eyebrow.
"I really hope Easter doesn't know the full implications of what she just said." He remarked dryly to Mother as he approached and nodded at everyone. "But is there anyone still missing?"
"Just two, I'm sure they'll be here shortly. But in the meantime, I don't think your costume is quite complete. Here, put this on"
Mother hands Miguel a golden ring. It seems real too. Upon investigation of her hand, Miguel will notice that she's wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. Sparrow seems extremely uncomfortable with the current state of affairs.
After going over the littlest of details, Jericha shows up to the meeting point. She was quite unsure on how she was going to pull off being a teacher, but thankfully, her natural height paired with an old yellow tracksuit she had did indeed help her pose a gym teacher. She waves to the others, and envies Easter's gluttony as Jericha has to stick to a diet before weigh-ins. "Yo. We almost ready to do this?"
Ciara then finally arrived, flanked by her two best friends who were wearing the school uniform. Ciara herself had gone for a nice dark beige blazer over turtleneck, some designer jeans and black shoes. Just elegant enough to point her out but casual enough to not alienate her from her classmates. A sharp-looking leather bag rounded up her uniform.
"Hey everyone! Um, these are my friends Izumi and Noriko. I mentioned them before, remember? Nori, Izu, this is Dr. Tavarez. She's the reason I was given the chance to speak at this event. Then there's Miguel, Suzume here who goes to our school, Jericha, the doctor's sister and... I think cousin of some sort?" she finished, introducing everyone. She took half a second to think of a suitable explanation for how she knew the group, then turned to Noriko who had a very unconvinced look.
"They're the ones who have been helping me with my art, Nori. The ones I told you I needed to introduce you to? Miguel saw me sketching at the bus station the other day and introduced me to the doctor. Suzume is actually a musician like you, Izu"
Nori takes no time at all to lead the conversation from there
"So you guys are the ones helping out my friend huh? What's your angle? What you think you can just rip her off and put her art on the wall for next to nothing? You'd better be paying her well, or you'll have to deal with me!"
Izumi grabs Nori by the shoulder
"Nori, don't openly threaten people. Too many witnesses"
"I don't care! These guys look super shady to me!"
Nori turns to Ciara
"Ciara are you sure you can trust these people?! One, did they even PAY you for your art? I don't recall every seeing a paycheck. B) That big guy looks like some sort of mob boss. Seriously, what if they're like, gangsters or something?!?!"
Before giving Miguel an opportunity to respond, mother cuffs his hand around the ring and takes charge
"*chuckle~* I can assure you there's nothing criminal about us. I'm a pediatrician, pretty well known around town, my husband Miguel here works in security, and we have a son, Jason, who's currently sulking in the corner because HEAVEN FORBID we ever do something he doesn't like. As you can see, we're a pretty normal family"
Sparrow cringes like he's never cringed before.
Izumi walks over to Suzume
"Ciara has asked I attempt to make your acquaintance. What type of instrument do you play? Furthermore, if you're in a school band, why have I never heard of you? Are you not very good?"
Miguel's eyes widened in genuine shock when she handed him a ring. A ring that looked definitely real. He was a little bit too jarred by the sudden appearance of a ring and a diamond ring on the doctor's hand to actually give another one of his witty quips. And that freeze-time proved costly, as people started to pour in and say their piece to the point where even he couldn't insert something that quick. He was even accused of being a mob boss... and well she was half right, not that he would admit it.
Still, his mind was still quick enough to pick up on what she was planning the moment she gave the ring and showed up wearing a diamond one, and he had slipped the ring on right as other people started to come. Other people that weren't part of the group, anyway. Still, he'd wished she'd given him some warning - it was a good thing he was very good at improv or he would've fumbled bad.
He smiled pleasantly and played along, squeezing her hand lightly and giving her a fond, loving glance that looked all-too real (faking was second nature to him at this point) before turning to address the girls. "Pretty much. Beautiful over here wanted some company during the festival and since it was an off-day, Jason and I decided to tag along as a show of support for not only her, but for the talented young budding artist we have over there."
The smile he threw Ciara was as genuine as it was polite."She does great work and I'd like to see more, as does Beautiful over here." He remarked with a polite chuckle.
Nori seems a bit skeptical of Miguel, but is at least listening. Sparrow nearly vomits at Miguel calling him Jason, but manages to maintain his composure. Nori continues her investigation
"Security huh? So that means you protect people and junk? Ok then mister. I propose a challenge"
Nori stikes a pose, pointing a dominant finger at Miguel's eyes
"We'll both be offering our services to Ciara as her bodyguard. Whoever can protect her the best throughout the day wins. If you lose, you have to pay DOUBLE what you did for her painting, and if I win, I'll acknowledge you as someone I can trust"
Suzume shifts the cornet case on her shoulder as she is barraged be the frankly rude acquaintance of Ciara's. "I play the cornet. It's a brass." Suzume says, somewhat shellshocked be the interrogation, before recovering and continuing "If you're so familiar with the band how come I've never seen you before? Are you stalking some band members?" She meant it as a bite back for the rudeness... though there are some cute boys in band...
Izumi seems unfazed by Suzume's comment. It seems she doesn't find it offensive in the slightest
"I have studied many prominent band members in the area. With college exams coming up, it helps to know what similar minded people will be doing. Though I wouldn't call it stalking, at least no more than researching what is already available on the internet. I must admit, I'm also intrigued that we've never heard of each other. I would think that we'd have met at some sort of competition in the past. I'll be sure to keep an eye for you in the future so that I may say hi in a friendly yet competitive manner. I hope this is acceptable"
Jericha, who has been effectively ignored this whole time, finds that Sparrow has purchased a couple of protein bars and offers on to her
"It'll be a long day. If you haven't eaten anything yet, now would be a great time."
Jericha chuckles a bit. "If you're struggling with a school uniform, I can't wait till you start having real problems." Jericha looks at her own track suit. She remembers trying to wear gym cloths as much as possible to avoid wearing a skirt for her uniform. "Anyways, I sure you'll forget about after a while. Hopefully we can get through this shindig as quickly as possible."
Miguel offered the girl -Nori, if he remembered right- a small, bemused smile as she shot off a challenge against him. He normally absolutely loved challenges, but this was being offered by a teenage girl with terribly vague terms and an equally-vague resolution. He wasn't an idiot by a long shot despite his admittedly-short attention span and his patchy formal schooling.
"Just because I work in security doesn't already imply that I'm already a security guard, Miss Nori." He began. "If you wish for someone to accept your challenge, you ought to detail the terms and conditions as well as the rewards more thoroughly, perhaps. However, even if I agreed I'm not going to insist on something Miss Ciara doesn't want." He continued with a twinkle in his eye.
"With that said... Beautiful and I are very thankful for your services, Miss Ciara. We'll just have to make sure that doesn't happen, right?" There's another genuine smile on his face now as he gave Ciara a firm nod, understanding the meaning behind what she had said.

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

i wanted to join a living server on roll20 to learn the system but they ignored my application for 2 weeks then blocked me

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
