A warm breeze blows across the plain of Snider island as all the prospective trainers gather at the entrance to the Reservation. There where just over two dozen trainers awaiting their chance to enter, all but three of them having recently turned 18. The random chatter dies down as a tall man with a mane of blonde hair steps out of the building, closely followed by two assistants carrying a table.
Ok everyone, I'm Dee, the Gym Leader of Hokus city. Now i know you're all excited to get in there and get to catching your starter, but i gotta go over the rules first. 1. You will be given 15 Reservation Balls and 2 hours to find your Pokemon, if you don't get one you can try again on another day.You will also be given a map, so you can try and find the exact Pokemon you want. 2. You can use any means at your disposal to catch the Pokemon. Bait them, fight them, or just charm them, its all legal. 3. If you get into trouble, use this he holds up a flare gun and one of the Rangers will get to you to back you up. Oh, and one more thing, there are various items hidden in the reservation, like Great Balls, Bait and other things that could help you catch Pokemon. Now that thats out of the way, form a line and sign in up here to get your Pokeballs
Finn was pretty intimidated right off the bat. He was stuck in a crowd size he still wasn't used to yet,. This was . . . unexpected. After getting his map, Finn made sure to look for large bodies of water. He convinced himself that would be the best place to search for his kind of pokemon, but in reality, he just really needed a good swim right now.
But as his heart started longing for isolation, Finn remembered the words his mother gave him before sending him off
"Blah blah blah . . . something heartfelt and kind . . . make sure to meet new friends!!""
Finn decided to follow his mother's words and looked around for new friends to make. Ideally kinder ones, or perhaps his mom! you know, if she was there . . . didn't seem like she was. . .

Morgan stood firmly with an excited smile as he heard the instructions, as he did he took a moment to observe the other would-be trainers, and couldn't help but notice how he was one of the oldest people there, however, the thought was quickly pushed back when something much more important ocurred to him: What kind of pokemon should he get?
As he moves to form a line to sign as he was instructed he starts to mumble to himself
"Should I get a cool looking pokemon? maybe a cute one... A strong one perhaps... Nah, that's not important, whatever I get I can help them become strong... well, it's gotta be one who enjoys my cooking... whatever am I saying? of course they will like my cooking... I suppose it's all about the personality then? Mhmmm..."
He continues to mumble like that all the way to the table where they are signing to get their pokeballs and other things, seemingly forgetting about everyone else present.
As her legs carried her to the back of the line that was quickly forming in front of the leader, Viviko moved her hand in the air, trying to get a hang on the signature she had had to come up with two weeks prior when countless forms and documents had been given over for her to sign. There was no risk of her forgetting, to be fair, but she had been practicing the movements since she had first made them up, to keep herself busy whenever she felt nervous or afraid.
The press of people, even just 24 of them, was more than a little intimidating to her at that moment. Too many garish contrasts of color and sound, and people chatting back and forth about what they would be on the lookout for within the reservation. Most of the species mentioned were new to her, creatures that would never put a foot (or other means of locomotion) near a mountain. Her hand seamlessly transitioned to writing the names she heard, practicing the writing system that still felt a tad unfamiliar to her. She couldn't wait to sit down and make a list or draw a chart.
Leanne listened to the explanation from one of the chairs against the wall, a bit intimidated by the whole crowd of people. Her family had just arrived to their new home in Johnstown a couple months prior, and the young girl was still not used to the people and the place. Silvers were very different from Kalosians, and she couldn't shake the thought that other people would judge her or see her as some sort of weird commodity because of her dutch-influenced northern Kalosian accent.
She waited until everyone else had joined the queue and then moved to the end of it. She mentally berated herself for again falling pray to her shyness.
"Didn't you come to the Silver Coast with the intention of being more confident? Come on, Lea. Get a grip" she told herself.
"Um... isn't going alone dangerous?" the blonde asked. "What if we find like a Cyndaquil and the grass arounds us catches on fire? Or someone who can't swim falls into the lake? That could be very dangerous, even with the flare gun"
She sort of shrank onto herself as a couple people in the queue turned to look at her. Oh, she knew this had been a bad idea! It was the accent again, wasn't it?
"Not that I'm questioning your abilities or, um..." she mumbled.
Dee nods his head "Valid point, theres no rule against partnering up so if you're concerned...." he looks around for a bit "you can go with this guy." he finishes pointing at Morgan. "That is if you don't mind helping the little lady out?"

Morgan, who was still mumbling to himself, takes a second to fully register the situation, but as he notices the attention placed on him, he turns around to see the young nervous girl with a "Huh?" He then offers her a smile and hearing her responds before even Dee can:
"Everyone present is here to prove they can handle a pokemon girl, not much point if they hold everyone's hands. Still, you are welcome to come with me if it makes you feel safer, sticking to groups is as valid as tactic as any, after all" he finishes with a merry laugh
"Oh that way. Well im not sure what to tell ya. I mean the pokemon in the res are pretty docile, theres Rangers all over the place, and we even have people on flying pokemon out on patrol. Its really as safe as we can make it without having you be shadowed by a Ranger the whole time and that would rather defeat the purpose of the whole exercise, don't ya think?" he ends with a wink.
Finn was intrigued by the formerly awkward, recently turned intelligent female and her knowledge of areas that aren't water. Perhaps this was an opportunity to make a companion? He approached the female. He also sort of ignored everything she said after she talked about brush fires.
"You seem like you know things. Is it ok if I do this exercise with you?"
She opened her map and started tracing the different areas. She was mostly interested in pokemon from grasslands or prairies, maybe forest... She got so immersed in it she forgot she had company for a while.
She blushed in embarrassment.
"I forgot you were there for a second. Where are you from?"
Morgan takes a quick look at his map, and deciding he doesn't know what sort of region is most likely to have interesting pokemon, decides to go for the one most likely to have ingredients, and as such heads towards the forest, keeping his eyes for the hidden items mentioned by Dee

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
