Teresa rolls her eyes as Crane talks, obviously not impressed by his spiel. When he finally stops talking, she turns to Viola and shakes her head. "I'm fine."

Addison continues to rest on the couch with his feet propped up on the chair, saying or doing nothing. Given how still he was, one would almost suspect that he had fallen asleep, if his eyes weren't open. As Viola enters the room, his eyes slowly track her movement for a while, resting on her while she holds the spotlight in the room, and for a while after she's done speaking. Eventually, his eyes begin to lazily bounce around the room again, tracking the conversation, but he remains on the sidelines for all of it, just vegging out.

"We have a woman that we commission for costumes. Really, all you need to do if you're lacking one is give us the specs and size and we can get it to you within two days. She works fast. And an injury will excuse you from class...and we know all the tricks. Don't try to pull one over on us." Viola's face turns stern for a second.
Clover smirks and whispers to Zerne, "She's a real softy when people get hurt, so go ahead and abuse it all you want." Viola turns and the President stops smiling.
Viola smiles when she hears about Karen getting everyone to introduce themselves, but stops when Alexander finally gives his intro. "Did you think we were putting on a showing of 'The Matter of Arceus' or are we quite done?" She emanates this level of hate that Alexander actually is pretty familiar with.
Hokum smiles. "So really, you're the personification of the endless void we're all cast into after death? The philosophical embodiment of humanity's greatest fears, that we are truly alone and empty, completely purposeless?" Everyone turns when he says that. "I mean, uh, darn tootin'. "
Viola shakes her head. "Whatever. Anyways, Mr.Celestine will arrive in a moment. Would all of you mind giving me your sizes and specs for the costumes, if you don't already have one? And I'm glad to see you don't need one, Mr.Crane. But anyways, you should be ready after this. OH, wait. There are a few roles we need to fill, since we don't have an abundance of people. We need a Vice President, a Treasurer, and a Publicist. The Vice President basically exists to fill the role when Clover isn't here, as well as acting as a sort of Secondary Manager when I need help. The Treasurer will manage the finances of the club, basically deciding where our money goes when we're inundated with funds after a successful mission. And the Publicist will make sure that if one of us does something stupid..." She looks at Clover and Alexander, "that the public opinion won't change. It's their job to interact with the public and make sure we look good, in case we need funds from charity or...anything else that might involve the public. But go ahead and pick one person for each role, that doesn't already have one. And there's no need to be shy, just pick who you think would do the best job."

Teresa quickly scribbles down her measurements (tiny, oh so tiny) and specifications for her costume (she kept it simple: some sort of purple coat, and a visor of sorts) and hands it to Viola. "I... wouldn't mind taking up the role of Vice President or Treasurer, provided no one more qualified wants to do it... I don't think I'd be best suited as Publicist."

Zernebog nodded at the information and jotted them all down in his notepad, smirking a bit at the last comment Clover whispered his way. Good to know that he had a way out that was actually valid if he needed it. And as long as he spun it right, his parents -or more importantly just his dad- won't question where he got it from.
He then paused from writing when the drama queen started up with another philosophical spiel that had him rolling his eyes. Dear God, he sounded like the Blue Blunder or whatever that annoying pompous chaser guy who liked to give out soeeches he'd seen on TV was called. Maybe this guy could be Black Blunder or Vlad Blunder or something if he got annoying enough. However, the manager's put down was funny and the smart quip from the country bumpkin was even funnier.
At the last part though, his eyebrow rose when she offered positions to them in the club. Newbies. Including the drama queen Slim Shady. Teresa was thebfirst to volunteer and he was tempted to sit out what looked like the beginning of a figurative power play, but he might as well at least try for something just for the hell of it. But first, he pulled out folded pieces of paper and gave it to Viola with a lazy thumbs up.
"Here. Got it prepared." He would have had one custom-made but then that would have brought up questions and assumptions he wasn't ready to answer. Inside would be several detailed sketches of the costume he wanted, with measurements to scale and even notes and a color palette.
"And I'll throw my hat in the ring for either vice president or treasurer since I doubt you want me to scare people into submission as a publicist. I'm not the most charming guy in the world. If other people want it more and seem more competent than me then more power to them. I won't stop them." He commented with a wry smile. "Maybe Karen or Addison though for Publicist. They seem friendly and level-headed enough."

Alexander stared at Uno in mild surprise as he spoke. Of all the people he expected that to come from... During the silent stare, Alexander starts chuckling, but it grows into a full blown, if disturbing, belly laugh.
"Finally! Someone I can talk to!," he shouts dramatically, grinning at Uno. "Darn tootin', indeed," he grins wickedly.
He looks over at Viola, the slip of paper still in his hands. He was beginning to think she wasn't going to take the list of "supplies" he had come up with. Oh well.
"Well, when it comes to all of those positions, I feel like I could do an exemplary job in each capacity," he said, staring her down. "I do quite well in positions of authority, so Vice President would work quite well for me. And you and I would get to know each other so much better, Mrs. Manager," he said ominously. "As a Treasurer, well, I certainly know how to manage a budget, maintaining stylish form with function," he said, spreading his arms, presenting himself as an example, "I could ensure all of our...needs...are suitably met," he added with a disconcerting glint in his eyes. "Perhaps the role I am best suited for, though, is Publicist. As a Publicist, well, I'm a very public person, and I'm certainly not shy. And if you think it's me who's going to be causing so much trouble, well, then it's only fair I clean up after myself, wouldn't you agree?," he proposed, perhaps all too reasonably.
"If not me, though, then I vote Teresa dear for spokesperson, Karen for penny-pincher, and the water-logged couch potato for Vice President," he said flippantly, "because why buck the trend?," he asked, giving Viola an amused grin.

Addison's eyes widen ever so slightly in surprise at the announcement that there were still positions to be filled, but he quickly goes back to his general, relaxed state. He listens patiently through everyone else talking, and as Alexander finishes speaking, he gets perhaps the largest response he's gotten out of Addison yet: an eyeroll. Addison then kicks out the chair from under his feet, the chair making a scraping noise on the floor as it goes. He stands up after a brief moment and puts a hand on his hips, then begins to speak. "Actually, Alexander is right, at least somewhat. I'd like to be Vice President, but not because I want to continue the trend of marginal competence that Clover has currently displayed. I try not to expend effort on things that don't matter, and relax and go with the flow, it's the way life should be lived, in my opinion. However, if something is important, I'm going to put all of my effort towards it, because it deserves effort. I think this club is important enough for me to put effort into it, and I think I could serve it best as the VP, so..." He pauses a moment and gives a grand display of his pearly whites, breaking his own seriousness. "Of course, I'm also down for being Publicist, I think I'm pretty good with telling people what's up, and my mom actually works at one of the papers in town, so I know a bit about how media works, so I could totally do that too. Any ways I can help the club really, I'm in." Addison's trying to convince people of things with charm, and that includes npcs, so I think that merits a Charm roll. I'd put this in the roll thread... but then people would just be wondering why I made a random roll. I can move stuff like this there in the future though. Anyways, the roll!

Karen stared wide-eyed at Uno. Well, that certainly surprised her, but not to the point that she stopped functioning.
After giving her head a good shake, she moved on to business. "I've already got one," Karen proudly presented her bag, by which she meant that her costume was in her bag and not that her bag was her costume, "and a spare hidden in the depths of my room should this one get damaged. I don't know my measurements off the top of my head, so can I get them to you later?". Clothing business done.
Now on to the matter of positions. Dropping her bag so she could hold her arms in an x-formation in front of her, Karen had to sadly disappoint Zerne's expectations with an apologetic smile, "Sorry Zerne, but publicist will have to not be me. I... er... yeah. I won't do too well with publicity. Addison, though. I’d support Addison being publicist. He's been, by far, the friendliest out of the three of us so far." Her pause was not one of hesitation per se but caution as she gave Alexander a side eye. Did she really want him to know something he could use against her? Nope. Not at all, so she was going to keep mum on the matter of not being in this Chaser club without her parents' permission. As for Alexander's proposition, Karen answered, "That’s… well, what you just said makes sense and only half of it sounded outright terrible. Treasurer I could do, but both Zerne and Teresa seem interested in it, so I think it’ll be better to leave it to them. Er… I guess, maybe even Alexander? After all, I just moved back here from Kanto. I’m still getting used to the prices in Erroe." There, now she had responded towards all the nominations suggested for her.
Strange, Karen didn’t nominate herself for anything. She also didn’t say a peep about vice president. The two were sort of related to each other. While vice president was the role she felt most confident in out of the three offered, everyone else had already expressed interest in the position. Besides, as she was a senior and bound to graduate next year, she felt the position would be better off in the hands of someone who would be sticking around for more than one school year. It felt like nominating herself would just be more troublesome than helpful. The same went for nominating someone else. She knew so little about everyone that everyone except Alexander seemed like a good choice, and he only seemed like a bad option because of the very obvious dislike Viola had of him. She had also been worried about Addison as VP, but after what he just said, it looked like she had originally marked him for a lot lazier than he actually was.

Clover leans back in his chair. "Don't care." Viola stares at him and replies, "You realize you'll be working with these people for another year?". He blinks and shrugs. Viola begins muttering under her breath, something about hoping for someone to smite the demon that's plaguing her. Uno just starts playing with Six-Shooter. "Eh, I think you'd all do a right fine job, if ya ask me!" He gives all of you a broad grin. Viola seems to be having a minor nervous breakdown. "Victoria, please tell me you have an opinion!" "I don't really...want to make a fuss..." she says, slightly under her breath, as Viola has now upgraded to a panic attack. "NO! I mean, uh, make a fuss. We don't want certain...unqualified people to even be considered for the position." Viola gives a gleaming wide smile. " You mean Alexander? Because I don't think you should hold his prior record against him. Maybe he needs something like this...you want to help him right? ...But I'm still refraining from voting." Victoria immediately goes back to writing minutes down. Viola sighs. "At least my vote still matters, Then...I guess we're going with Karen as Treasurer, Addison as Publicist...and Teresa as VP. Oh Arceus, thank all of you for not voting for Alexander. I would have hurt someone..." She looks directly at Clover, "if that happened." Clover smirks. "Yes, please." Viola's aura of death returns, leading to Clover shrinking back in his seat. "Anyways..." The door opens slowly, to reveal a man forced to stoop to get inside the room. "Oh! Mr. Celestine! It's so nice to finally meet you." She smiles at him. "HELLOOOO, CHAAAASER CLUB!" He pulls Viola into a bear hug, quickly releasing to run around the room and give each of you the most hand-crushing hand-shake that you've ever received. He eventually gets to Victoria. "SWEEEEETIE!" He rushes to hug her as she puts one hand out. "...Restraint." Mr.Celestine scratches his head. "Oh. Right." He gives a light hug to the blank-faced girl, as he rushes to the front of the room. "I'M MR.CELESTINE! AND-" "Volume, Daddy." He shrugs. "Oh. Right. I'm Mr. Celestine, and I'll be your club supervisor. I'm also the father of that lovely girl over there...And..." The podium in front of him begins snapping in half as he leans on it. "If I see a single one of you...young men, go after her....I hope you have a lovely relationship!" He smiles at all of you. "Dad..." He shrugs once again. You feel like this is a common occurrence with him. "Oh. Right. Anyways, I'm your club supervisor. As for my previous Chaser experience, I was originally the vigilante, Rampage. But you don't want to hear about that. I'm just here to have a fun time, and teach some youngsters a thing or two. Anyways...any questions for me? Because Viola has already given me names, and you're all committed to memory." He gives another wide smile.

Zernebog was amused at how every established member of the club but Viola actually voted, preferring to leave it in her hands. Well at least it ended up with the best possible outcome - him with no immediate pressing responsibilities, competent-looking people in appropriate-lookimg places, and drama queen Slim Shadybout of any positions of power that could give anyone -except possibly Clover or Uno- a headache. He gave an approving nod at the choices, only tl pause and turn to look when he saw the door begin to open.
Zernebog then blinked in shock when some big burly man decided to hug Viola and then proceed to give him -and probably everyone else- a handshake that left his hand numb despite his best efforts to match it. His hands fucking hurt loke he had shaken El Oso's hand all over again during their last visit. Ow. There were definitely elememts of super strength in there... or the man was just some sorta beast or something. He flexed his hand to get the feeling back, keeping a grimace off of his face and settling for an amused smirk as he watched the man enthusiastically greet everyne before being stopped in his tracks by the secretary... who was apparently his daughter. Heh.
So the club supervisor was loud, friendly and boisterous... with a strange openness to his daughter dating. Seemingly a simple guy that reminded him of El Oso. He liked him already.
Still won't stop him from asking a question though. "Nice to meet you too teach. May I ask how strictly the hidden iddntity angle is enforced in this club and what measures are taken to ensure it isn't leaked out if it's not an open thing? I dunno about you guys but some Predators out there can outdo Mr. Tryhard over here by a long shot and that gets really annoying really fast." He nodded to Alexander at the last part, his tone rather blithe even though the question was perfectly serious and important for him, if not for the reasons he stated out loud.

"Demons," Alexander corrected her, emphasizing the plural with a wicked grin.
Alexander chimed in after the votes were cast. "I would like the record to state that I have withdrawn my support for the Golden Showerer as our Vice President. I wasn't voting for that kind of...enthusiasm," he said, nodding at Victoria.
"I will say this though, Viola," he said, staring at her, "in your zealous crusade to leave me out of a--cabinet position, shall we say?--well, quite simply, you've left me with nothing to occupy my time," he said flippantly, "and we both know what happens when I get bored. I go looking for...entertainment," he said menacingly.
As the door opened, and a very animated bear of a man came inside, Alexander grinned. 'Speak of the devil,' he mouthed clearly to Viola, taking care to conceal it from Victoria's recording.
Alexander stood when Mr. Celestine approached him, giving a short bow, "Ah, and you must be Mr. Celestine," he said, shaking his hand, returning the crushing handshake without flinching, and with the strongest grip he could muster. "It's so good to make your acquaintance, I've heard so much about you...most of it good...," he said, speaking as eloquently and respectfully as one could imagine, but finishing his statement with reluctance and an obvious look toward Viola. He took his seat only once Mr. Celestine had taken the podium.
He looked over at Zernebog and chuckled, not bothering to respond...not right now, at least.

"Exactly! A superhero, I mean Chaser, is nothing without their secret identity!" agreed the girl who walked into the Chaser club in plain clothes. Her actions implied that she actually didn't care too much, but she agreed with such enthusiasm that it would be hard for anyone to believe that she was lying.
Just a bit earlier, Karen had been shocked at her sudden promotion to treasurer and Mr. Celestine's entrance and grand reveal. She still had to wait for the feeling to return to her hands after the, what felt like, bone-crushingly strong handshake. However, that was the only remnant of the interaction that had yet to change. Everything else, the surprise and humor in the teacher's treatment of his daughter, had been replaced with excitement when the talk of secret identities came up. She even managed to forget to add in some sort of polite acceptance of the treasurer position and ignore most of Alexander's veiled threat.

Teresa smiles widely as she's assigned the role of Vice President, nodding to Viola in thanks. "I won't let you down, promise." She inwardly sighs in relief that Crane hadn't gotten any sort of position...
She winces slightly and shakes her hand at the (second...) rough handshake. I really need to figure out a way to lower the force of people's grip... I'm not gonna have any bones in my hand left this way...
She just lets the others talk, content to just observe for the moment.

As he's given the role of publicist, Addison grins widely, and similarly gives a thumbs up to Teresa as she's given the role of Vice President. She'd do well with it, and he couldn't really complain about anything. As Mr. Celestine comes back towards him, Addison is ready, gripping his hand as hard as possible in return. Then he sits back down in the couch and relaxes, head resting in his hands as he listens in on the conversation. Handshake counterattack with Athletics: 2zr5_e4m4d64d6

Mr. Celestine nods. "Oh, secret identity is very important to us. That's why you're the only ones who even know this meeting takes place, and where it takes place. We won't be letting anything about the lot of you leave this room. And..." He looks over at Viola.
"You've been criticizing me?" Mr. Celestine looks legitimately confused. "Uh..." Viola seems unable to respond. "Because...that's great! I invite criticism of my leadership ability, as it helps me to improve!" Mr..Celestine smiles broadly. Viola nods, a little perplexed.
The Manager looks around the room. "Alright, everyone has their roles set in place. We'll be talking about them once you complete the mission that Mr.Celestine has set for you."
"Oh. Yeah, That. By the way, call me Moose. That's what my friends call me." He smiles as he walks outside, leading a little girl inside. The little girl has her brown hair in pigtails, and is currently wearing winter clothing.
"H-hi." She begins to hide behind Moose.
"This is Jill, a granddaughter of an old friend of mine. Now come on, tell the nice Chasers what your problem is." He pushes her tenderly forward a little.
"U-uhmmm...there's scary noises on my street at night..." She looks towards Moose for affirmation, who nods. "And...uhmmmm...I'd like to ask for you guys to find out what the noises are and stop them...please. I can give you..." She pulls out a wad of Poke-dollars and holds them out. Moose smile and leads her out of the room by one hand, walking back to his podium. "Alright then, you heard her. Head to Quartz Street and find out what the source of the strange noises are. This is designated a Class F mission, and will be what determines if you gain true membership to the club. And...don't worry about the money. I'll pay her costs for her." He smiles at the 5 of you once again, and walks back outside.

Alexander watched the exchange between Viola and Celestine impassively. He had work to do there.
This little girl, however, garnered more of his attention. As she held out her wad of Poke-dollars, just before Moose started to lead her out, Alexander got wordlessly to his feet. He walked directly toward the girl, his footfalls echoing in the classroom, little clouds of wispy shadow swept up by his trenchcoat as he passed. His head was downcast, his face shadowed, but if you looked closely you could see a devious grin, one aimed at Viola in particular.
As he approached the girl he removed his gloves, placing them into his pocket. When he was a few paces in front of Jill he stopped.
"Dear Jill, sweet child," he said, going down on knee toward her, now on eye level. His tone was deep and silky, but unlike almost every other word he'd spoken there was no mischief or malice behind it this time. It was calm and soothing, like a vekvet drape being wrapped around you.
As he knelt a small cloud of darkness was kicked up by his trenchcoat, scattering like a cloud of dust. "Sweet child, I'm sure those noises at night must be quite frightening for you," he said, sounding almost genuinely concerned, "but let me assure you," he said, clasping her hand full of money with both of his and gently pushing it back toward her chest, toward her heart, "there is nothing in the dark for you to be worried about. I promise," he said, patting her hand gently, "and I promise, I will find out what is making those frightening noises and make then stop, so you can sleep a little easier," he said with a smile. Not a sarcastic grin, but a genuine smile. He could see Moose was ready to lead her from the room and nodded toward the bulky man. "Alright then, run along now," he said with a smile.
While Moose led her out of the room, Alexander turned back toward the others, flashing each and every one of them a very telling, very sarcastic grin--especially Viola, whom he chuckled lightly at--and walked back to his seat, putting his gloves back on. He sat by, looking quite relaxed and content with himself, as Moose finished his explanation and walked back outside. A few moments later he spoke up with a chuckle.
"Oh come on now, what did you all expect? What do you think I am, some kind of monster?," he asked sarcastically, grinning and chuckling, looking particularly at Viola, wondering just how close he had come to giving her a heart attack. A night out on the streets with Teresa of all people? This would be fun...

Karen smiled kindly at the child. She was going to say some sort of cheesy hero line, but Alexander swooped in first. Her smile dropped. With the no doubt others incredibly suspicious of Alexander's movements, Karen warily watched the mischief maker with dread as he knelt to talk to the small child, <What sort of trouble is he up to now? I swear to Keldeo, if he's stealing money from a child...> Except Alexander didn't, or if he did, then he did it so skillfully that Karen could still see the edges of the child's bills sticking through her hands as she exited.
When Alexander caught the wary watchers in the act, Karen defended herself, "I mean, your first impression really drove the whole monster aspect home. If you can act like that, too, then I almost think that you wanted us to see you as some sort of nefarious hero-in-name-only."
Anyways, she realized only after saying her thoughts that she shouldn't have. She didn't want to be caught up in another round of verbal banter of Alexander, not now that she had been given her first mission. Excitement setting in, Karen was raring to go, even if her team was less than ideal.
"Alright!" she clapped her hands together to draw everyone's attention to her, "Mysterious noises at night! I think we should make this investigation two-part, once before the sun sets and once after the sun sets. I'm sure most of us can see better with some daylight, so it's best to scout out the point of interest then. However, if we want to be absolutely sure about the mysterious noises, then we need to at least keep watch during the night even if we've already caught the likely culprits. Thoughts? Agreement? Objection?".

Teresa remains impassive as Jill tells her story, very carefully not letting any of her emotions show. As Crane approaches the little girl however, her mask almost cracks, and her eyes visibly widen, as she prepares to intervene the moment he started... being Crane. But, it seems like he felt like behaving... for as long as the girl was in the room, at least. She just disdainfully rolls her eyes as he tries and act innocent, not reacting to him otherwise.
She is somewhat hesitant to going out during the night - in the dark - during their first mission out... especially if Crane was going to be coming along... but still nods. "That would probably be... best, yes."

"I was really aiming for menacing, but I'll settle for nefarious," he quipped back at Karen with a sarcastic grin.
"As for our 'mission', well that's fairly obvious," he said in a condescending tone. "The sounds only happen at night, so to really find their source we need to be there at night," he said, smiling at Teresa. "Best to just wait until then. Rest now, in case it turns out to be a long night," he said, kicking his feet up and looking at Karen. "Head out there now and start mucking about and you'll either tip it off...or end up passing judgement prematurely," he said with particular emphasis, staring Karen down with a wicked, knowing grin and a glint in his eyes.

Oh good. Secret identities were important enough to be hidden. Well as hidden as a school organization could make it. That was reassuring in the fact that certain people won't find out about his involvement here this early in the game. That was a headache he would honestly not rather deal with at all and that was reassuring
He then looked on in interest when it became all business -well as much as this motley crew could- and then Moose led in their first client - a little girl who wanted them to get rid of scary noises at the street. Wow. This was already seeming like some of the things he did in his time as a street thug. Something he was sure that Slim Shady must be comfortable with if he was trying to be suave and not scare her like he had been PsyGirl. Drama Queen indeed.
He then watched as Slim Shady and Scarf -he really needed to think of a better nickname for Karen- proposed two different approaches, with the former shooting the latter down. On his end he just shrugged. "Ladies, ladies you both have good points. If we've all been to Quartz Street before then we can do what Drama Queen is saying. Otherwise, Ms. Treasurer's idea works out better because I'm pretty sure that we at least don't want to get lost and be late getting there. Not everyone has night vision. How's that?"
