Maela winces in pain as the spray of needles strikes her, and her face turns a rather unhealthy color as her stomach clenches. She's pretty sure the poison got to her this time. Her heart flutters for a moment when the Ekans that Clòimhe had fled turns its gaze on her, but she breaks eye contact quickly. "I am not a baby Buneary to freeze up for you," she hisses between her teeth. Encouraged by the success of her first strike, she swings at the Ekans she's engaged with again, bringing her flail down hard in hopes of putting it out of the fight with Lana's help. Then she takes a cautious step back, not wanting to let herself be brought down entirely. Clòimhe flutters out from her hiding place slightly to turn her attention to the serpent that had attacked her before. She sends another pulse of sound and psychic power towards it, hoping to confuse it as well or at least distract it from going after her trainer. Maela uses Bash! on the Ekans to her north. As Nimbus finally gets free of the snake wrapping it up, the thing tries to eat him!! So as the bite sinks in, Nimbus starts glowing white before running away from the snake as the pent up power explodes out from him. O. seeing both the Ekans he was fighting go down, as well as Nimbus glowing before the glow explodes hitting two of the nearby Ekans' goes to help his small companion. He can feel the poison coursing through his body as he lines up an electrical attack on the Ekans closest to him and his partner. Nimbus is going to use Bide as he gets hit by the Bite. He will Disengage North 1 Square, before releasing the energy. All Ekans in a Burst 1 lose 19 Health. (So one attacking Nimbus, and one attacking Fang)
O will move to use Spark on either the one that attacked Nimbus or the one attacking Fang if either are still up after the Bide. If not he will attack the one attacking Fleur.

The Bide made the Ekans in front of Fang collapse, while Maela and Lana's combined assault made short work of the confused Ekans. Chlua finished off the Ekans that was attacking O with her Ice, leaving the path open for O. to strike at the one Fleur and Morgan were fighting. Noticing that one was barely hanging on, Fang waddled forward and fired a Water Gun at it. Acc MaE_gYzK1d20 Damage 1d8+10 Amelia instead approached Maela and spread a soothing unguent over the puncture marks the stingers had left. It made Maela feel significantly better. [Maela is no longer poisoned!] The combined attack finished off the Ekans to the west, and the eastermost one looked very injured as well. It skittered into the tall grass, fleeing from the battle. "Haha! Hahaha! We have done it! Flee snakes! Flee! Tell others of our beauty!" Morgan cries, holding his bow aloft. He didn't dare shoot another shot though. That ah... Struck him as a bad idea... It was already going to take him a bit to find his lost arrows...

Maela breathes a sigh of relief as Amelia helps take some of the sting of the poison away. She's still feeling a little wobbly but rest will take care of that. "Thank you, Amelia. That's much better. I suppose I brought it on myself, going out in front like that, but I was hoping I could chase them off. Some predators won't bother, if they see you're not afraid." Apparently Ekans are not some predators, though. She supposes she shouldn't be surprised - she has a vague idea that serpentine Pokémon are distantly related to Dragon-types, and she knows well enough that those don't respond well to being talked down.
She calls Clòimhe over to her, running her hands through the Woobat's fluffy fur. "You did wonderfully, dear," she murmured softly. "That was a beautiful showing for your first time out." She frowned when she found a spot where blood matted the fur - a lasting injury from the jaws of the Ekans that had bitten Clòimhe. That would need seeing to, if they had time to patch up before they got moving again; she started to look through her bag for a bandage.
"I have a couple of those salves as well, if they managed to get anyone else with those needles," she called out. They'd have to be careful of their supplies, of course, but that didn't mean they wanted to just keep walking while the poison got worse.

As the Ekans go down, and the final one flees, O rests a moment on his spear, with its butt planted in the ground. "I think they got me, but I have some of that salve of my own. O says to Maela before he reaches into his pack to find the salve. Those stingers had made him a little woozy and it wouldn't do to pass out on his friends.
O then walks over to look at the bite Nimbus had taken. "Oh, that doesn't look to good. At least there doesn't seem to be any venom in there. Lets have you rest up." He says as he brings Nimbus' spirit bead up and sends Nimbus back, a little rest would do Nimbus some good and hopefully save supplies for later when they are in the forest and they might need them more.
"I hope we don't run into anymore Pokemon out here for a while yet. That fight took a lot of me." O comments to the other squires.

Lana nods at O's comment, picking up Chlua as the little swine meandered her way towards her. "Not a bad display of our field-skills, though," she pointed out, checking her newest companion over. Chlua still seemed to be antsy and confused by the whole situation but Lana noted that the pre-fight snack had served the swinub especially well.
"I think we did rather well, overall. Be proud of yourselves and your pokemon-- we're proving exactly why it was us sent out here in the first place. Let's keep moving, shall we? I'd like to not be caught like that again for a little bit, at least." She brushes off her armor, stows her weapon, and looks around to see if the others needed any help.

Morgan smiles broadly. This had not gone badly for their first battle! And yet... He couldn't feel as if he was missing something. Like there was more to this story that he wasn't quite catching. Something felt off. His eyes scanned over the grassland and his fun-loving smile gradually faded into a strange sort of frown. He shakes his head. No! No, he was being silly it was probably nothing! "You're right. I think we should get moving quickly."

The party did not see any more signs of Pokemon nearby. The glimmer of metal was still visible, a couple meters into the tall grass.

Yes. They should probably get moving. Nothing was forgotten and- Oh, wait. Something was definitely forgotten. As soon as Morgan's eyes re-found the glimmering, shimmering, thing in the grass, he began to speak up once more.
"On second thought, hold for just one moment my beautiful comrades! I think I see something shiny!"
And lo! Morgan departed into the brush on a quest for pretty baubles. A somewhat cross Fleur followed close behind. She still hasn't received her post battle per, and it was becoming quite rude of her trainer!
To forget about her- Ho! What impudence!

Maela sighs and follows Morgan into the grass despite her injuries. "Clòimhe, stay at the edge. I'll be right back." Though frankly Clòimhe is probably in better shape than Maela herself.
"Try and make sure there's someone with you to look out for trouble, Morgan." She knows he has sharp eyes - he's an archer, after all - but she doesn't want him to get focused and miss some more danger.

"Have no fear! I am never alone my fairest comrade, so long as I have one as lovely as my beautiful Fleur beside me!"
Ah! Oh still my beating heart! A certain Servine accepts this acknowledgement and sidles her way up onto Morgan's shoulders, glowing with a happy green sheen as she wraps her tail about his neck. Aha. Such a beautiful, heavy girl...

[/div] Morgan and Fleur eventually come across a modest leather bag whose contents seem to be spilled across the ground. The strap is torn and there's a faint blood splatter on the ground, but no sign of a body.
Without a close examination, Morgan can see a couple coins and what looks like a metallic cylinder sliding out of the bag

Morgan is stopped by the pale specter of apprehension. This was sad. And strange. "Oh my... I fear oh shining beauty, that we were not the first one to be attacked by the snakes. Then, turning his head towards the rest of his comrades, he called out; "You all may wish to see this!"
Saying this, he bent down at eye level to examine the bag and it's contents. Fleur, sensing something was afoot, alighted from his shoulders and shimmied into the tall grass. In this environment, her eyes were not nearly so limited as Morgan's, and her own training dictated that she keep him safe as well.
For now, Morgan looked, and looked with his special eyes, trying to take in all that he could before the scene could be disturbed.

Upon hearing Morgan's summon, Lana strides over and kneels down beside him, brushing her thick curls out of her face in order to peer closer at... whatever it was.

"Hm? What have you found, Morgan?" Apart from "trouble" - no, that's unfair, it doesn't sound like trouble at all. Maela makes her way over from where she's been looking out for danger to try and see what Morgan has found as well.

"I have found... A curious bag, and an even curiouser scene." Morgan states, drumming his forefinger across his face into a vaguely inappropriate mustache. "I fear that someone might have lost their things... If not, more. It is a bag with money and... Something else."
Gingerly, he took out a metal cylinder and waved it above his head. It was closed shut, with the most gorgeous handwriting her had ever seen on a metal surface. He turns it aside and reads it out loud in his most magnificent voice. "My dear 'Lady of the Roses'. I need to think if I've ever heard of that title..."

Morgan does not recall ever hearing such a title, either in gossip or tales of legend. Surely such a lovely title must befall on a lady matching it, however!
