Perception 9, placing Chlua two squares south/downwards from Lana. Chlua let out a small, nervous squeak, but obeyed, staying further back...

Nimbus flies two meters above O.'s head, but as O. approaches the grass, Nimbus heads to the left just a bit, to keep O. in between it and whatever was hiding there. Putting Nimbus to the Left of Lana, got a 10 on the perception test

Clòimhe flutters from one side of Maela to the other as she peers into the grass fruitlessly. Still no response - not even the motion of something moving away. Now the sense of foreboding is too strong to ignore, and Maela shifts into a defensive stance. "Last warning! Please, this doesn't have to end in a fight!"Clòimhe is one meter to the west of Maela.

What is this? A melee! An incident! Snake? SNAKES! Morgan takes step back, barely avoiding panic the snakes snake out of the underbrush. Well, this explains the lack of response. Clearly these Ekans are out looking for a meal, though what made them think they were a match for five humans is anyone's guess. Maela winces in pain as one of them manages to spit a stinger right into her arm, but she plucks it out before the venom can take effect; Clòimhe, as if to make a good showing on her first outing, dodges the similar attack aimed at her effortlessly. And despite Maela trying to avoid a fight, they're both ready for trouble now. Maela pauses and composes herself, unhooking her flail from her belt and spinning the head in a circle. The sinuous snakes will be hard to take down with her barehanded strikes, too slippery to get a good hit in on them... but a big chunk of metal is another story. And meanwhile, Clòimhe is an excellent Pokémon to handle such creatures. "The one furthest ahead, Clòimhe!"The little bat gives a trilling cry to acknowledge the order, and sends a wave of disorienting psychic power toward her target. Maela's Focus: 12 Clòimhe's Focus: 11

Lana braced herself, and O, as the snakes attacked--and grinned with victory when her maneuver worked as intended and O's assailant missed in its attack. It was a small victory, but a victory nonetheless, and she felt inspired to rally on her companions in the best way she knew how. "Chlua! Mud-slap on the one attacking Nimbus!" she called out, then felt the need to sing growing in her soul: "In battle, dear friends, let your swings all land true; Our king and our country have faith, so should you; Slice fast and with courage, shoot straight and stay strong; May the gods smile upon us and bless this war-song!" Chlua acts on 6, will use Mud-Slap on the Ekans attacking Nimbus. AC2(5) for 15 special ground damage.
Lana acts on 5. As a standard action she'll use Song of Might (1 AP)(burst 4), which will give all allies in the AoE +5 to damage rolls between her initiative this turn and the end of her next turn.

While O. lithely dodges the Ekans coming to wrap around himself, Nimbus isn't so lucky. Being just a ball of fluff doesn't lead to being able to fight off attackers that well, as he becomes constricted by the snake. As he dodges, O. kicks out at the snake with a foot wrapped in electricity, pulling out his spear completely as he does so, readying it for future attacks. "Nimbus! Rage at the one holding you." O will act on a 15, Nimbus on a 14 (when initiatives matter)

With Lana's song and Morgan's encouragement backing her, it's easy to be optimistic about their chances - never mind that considering both the new would-be knights and their Pokémon, they outnumber the Ekans. She circles to the left, closer to the rest of the group, before closing with the nearest snake, the one she'd had Clòimhe attack before. The head of her flail whirls in a circle, then she swings it right at the Ekans, letting her focused concentration guide her strike. Bringing one of the Ekans down brings a smile to Maela's face... but apparently there is some sort of Ekans hydra back there in the grass because now three more have crawled out to replace the one they brought down and the one Morgan captured. And the serpents' fangs are doing a number on her and Clòimhe both. Maela swings her mace low in retaliation against the Ekans that bit her. Lana grits her teeth, seeing the new foes arriving on the battlefield. Her songs seemed to help, but she couldn't help but wonder if she might be better off trying to distract some of the enemies into attacking her, so as to take the pressure off her friends. Lana can only spare a glance over her shoulder at Chlua's condition as one of the snakes adjacent to her goes down. The little pig seems to be holding her own; a fine pick of a second partner, Lana thinks. Then she turns back around, because the foes weren't all beaten yet, and she knew better than to slack off in the middle of a battle! She bashes at the snake in front of her, attempting to knock it silly--or sillier, she supposed, given the way it was swaying. Another blast of cold wind from behind her lets her know Chlua is keeping up the assault. Lana uses Wounding Strike (AC2) on the adjacent Ekans: Ou9odewm1d20 for 2d6+15 normal physical damage PLUS one tick of the Ekans' health.
Chlua attempts another Powder Snow (AC2) on the one two squares northwest. 1d20+1 (19+ freezes) for 2d6+13 special ice damage.
**If Lana's target goes down before her turn, she'll move to whatever enemy she can reach within 5 squares of movement and make the attack against them, prioritizing the east-most Ekans.** 1d20·2d6+15·1d20+1·2d6+13
