"I was thinking, dinner 'to go', kinda wanna be first in first out. Don't wanna miss any possible goings on," to the Aipom, "stop teasing Bindi," he recalled her as he spoke.
"Hadn't heard about the mines, aside from old mining equipment, what do you think is out there? I'd like to check out the gym too, but i don't think there's time enough for that today. I think we still have a bit of time, would you mind if I borrowed that fishing rod and gave it a go?"

Almost on que, a small stream of trainers would be headding up from the direction of the gym, all carrying a gym bag of some sort or another, though, it would appear the gym leader wasn't amongst them, or at least, wasn't discernable from the others. About 3/4ths of them would head up to the residentail area to the north, but two would head into the pokecenter, one looking myserable. Likewise, from the forests to the west, two more trainers would be hoofing it from the woods, visibly not wanting to miss dinner.

"That's for sure! You can fish with my rod, but right now, unless you're planning on fishing inside the Pokecenter, you're gonna have to wait until after dinner." Jamie stretches, stands, and starts heading into the Pokecenter, following the two trainers in. "As for the mine, it's probably abandoned for a reason, so I'd guess nothing valuable other than Pokemon. I hear there's sometimes bugs in caves, could be interesting."

Tummy rumbling, Orin follows in quickly. "I agree, fishing later."

Entering the center, they'd almost immediately be hit by the rich, meaty smell of dinner. The nurse would check the licenses, and then serve them up the bowl of stew, the heavy scent matching the delicious-looking mixture. Once they'd gotten to a table, and dug in, they would find the food's taste and texture to be of a matching quality to the smell, the chunks of beef in the brew tender, and easily yielding when bitten into. The noodles which accompanied the meat where well done, kept just slightly firm to proved a better texture while chewed, with the whole arrangement spiced in some manner that accentuated the heavy, filling meal.

Eating rapidly, with a mouth full of food, "Okay, yoou coming to the samd pit? Or yoou got other plansh."
He got up to go, thanking the purveyors of the scrumptious meal. When close to the sand pit he would attempt to be quiet so as not to disturb anything that may be in the area.

Jamie started digging into the bowl of stew almost the moment she put her bowl on the table, slurping up a noodle before letting out a loud hum of satisfaction at the meal and digging in at a ferocious pace. "Oh man if every pokemon center has food like this it's gonna be heaven the entire journey. So, what kind of batmph d' mm mmmmph hmmm mph gmmm? mthmm mmmm mph mmmvmms, mm mmmms. 'm mmmkmm *gulp* that we'd do well in double battles, but single challenges aren't a bad plan either if I get in some training after dinner. You'd probably do fine." Jamie continues trying to talk around her beef and noodles through the dinner but is even less understandable with every sentence. "...mmmmmmg down for the sand pit, yea." She takes a little longer than Orin does to finish her meal, then hurries after him, only slowing down and keeping her distance a bit when she sees him stepping carefully near the sand. As a precaution, she releases Speedy, reasoning that if something does happen, he can rush into action from where she is.

The light outside was fading quickly, the stars starting to be visible in the night sky. A lone pokemon was out in the sandpit, darting about, attacking the air. It was difficult to make out just what the mon was, at least, until it lit up the area with a dazzling electric attack, a plume of sand flying in the air, along with glass crystals scattering about, the Blitzle standing pround and content in the destruction of nothing.

Orin clenched his fist as he watched the horse darting about. The added bursts of ling in the fading evening were pleasing to the eye, and a wonder it wasn't attracting more people. Seeing the sparkling shards plume in the air made him think, 'i can turn those against it.'
He watched for a moment more, taking in his opponent, and whispered, "let's do this."
He tossed Rook's pokeball to the edge of the Sand pit, like entering the arena, "Whip it up with a Sandstorm, try to keep it contained to the sand pit."
Orin didn't want the disturb the town, or get any unsuspecting bystanders caught in the currents of sand. Hopefully with trainers rushing to the center, it wouldn't be much of a problem. Rook stared down his opponent and raised his blades, and with it, sand began to levitate around him, with a quick motion to the left, it was off and swirling.

Besides the two of them, the trainers where all in the pokecenter, enjoying dinner, and, what would seem to be a dessert. The only other person around, in fact, besides the two of them, would be the police officer they'd passed by on the way in, who'd look up from his paper as it rustled slightly with the rushing of the sand, but would go back to it, muttering something about kids these days. The blitzle would be properly surprised when the sand didn't settle down entirely, and in fact, instead whipped up a further storm, looking around furiously, before it locked eyes with it's target. Electricity would crackle around it, striking clumps of sand and turning them to glass, as it CHARGED.

"Looks like it's getting ready for a big hit, so get ready for that Rook."
Orin lifted his pokedex to confirm what he already knew, electric type. I seemed like, aside from turning tail, there was no way this was going to end without some damage, Orin just hoped his team was up for it. The pokemon before him crackling with energy looked young enough, but there was no way to know for sure. There have been times in the past when Orin learned looks can be deceiving. 'Cute things still have teeth.'
"Maybe we don't need to lose another hat just yet, show it your Fury Cutter!"
Rook obliged hurtling into action swiping at the ankles of the beast.

The blitzle, buffered by the sand, and it's ankles slashed by the pawniard, wasn't happy in the slightest. It'd rear back, hooves kicking in the air, and slamming them down, discharging all the power it'd stored in a nasty __SHOCKWAVE__

Jamie coughs and raises a hand to shield her eyes as the blowing sand rushes past her and Speedy. "I think that's our cue to start helping, eh? Let's finish this off before you get any more sand stuck in your shell!" Speedy wholeheartedly agrees, judging by how fast he bolts ahead, ramming full tilt towards the Blitzle.

Prepared for what was to come, Rook took the hit. He was ready for it, and stayed standing when the lights dimmed, though he seemed to be standing on streaks of glass now. The blast rocked him, leaving him with little left to give.
"Nice job Rook!"

The blitzle is caught off guard by the second blow. In fact, it seems almost offended that this wasn't a 1v1, toppling. It barely keeps it's footing, it's mane glowing bright yellow in a wounded fury, though it looked like the battering of the storm was about to be enough to knock it over, if one did not act quickly...

That Blitzle looked less sure of it's footing than Rook did, at this rate, the storm with last longer than it did. "Pokeball go!"

The blitzle would be stuck recovering from the previous blow to get out of the way, and would be sucked into the pokeball. It would fight vigously for one, two shakes, then, seemingly, give up. As if it knew, even if it broke out, it still would be down for the count from the sand alone.

"Rook return!"
Mutual relief between trainer and pokemon washed over them for finishing the battle still standing, even if just barely. The emotion was spiked with excitement for catching a new friend. "We should probably get you do out of all this sand," directed at Jamie and Shelly, as he walked right into the middle of it to retrieve the Blitzle's ball.
"Thanks for the assist by the way, made for quick work," Orin seemed to pay no mind to the whipping sands as he stepped out in the free air, "you didn't want it did you? Since we're going to be traveling together, I guess we should come to some sort of understanding so as not to ruffle feathers. Do you have a preference as to how we handle things like this, dibs? Catch and sort it out after battle? I'm open to suggestions..."
Orin released Blitzle from the pokeball briefly, (out of the waning storm) to make formal introductions and welcome him to the team, "I'd like to call you Fulgurite, after what you did to that sand. Don't worry, I'll have you healed up right quick at the Poke Center, for now, rest," he recalled Fulgurite.
Sheepishly, "Sorry if I wade you miss dessert Jamie, I was excited is all. Maybe there's still time to get some, besides, I want to get these two to Nurse Joy. Anything you want to do tonight after that; your choice!"

Brushing sand off of Speedy with one hand while shaking sand out of her hat with the other, Jamie plops her hat back on before shaking her head. "I wouldn't worry about it much, we'll just sort it out after the action's over. Besides, you'll be able to tell when I really want a pokemon caught, y'know? It's easy to tell if I'm going all out."
"Yea, dessert would be really nice, especially with some time to savor it this trip in. Rook took a bit of a wallop that time, might wanna let him rest for the night?"
