"Rook's definitely done for the night, but I was hoping to stretch Bindi's legs a bit. Could head to the forest after a snack; see what lurks at night. Or perhaps try to snag a fish," he ponders a moment, "or we could have a battle."
The two trainers head twards the poke center to drop of a few pokes and snoop for sweets. Orin was charmed by Jamie's aditude twards captures and what would be evident passion for catches. "So I get the whole Bug vibe, that's clear, im jus curious, why bugs?"
This was not asked with disgust, but curiosity, wanting to understand his traveling companion.

Headding back in, they'd be greeted with the saddening sight: Nurse joy upending the last of the chocolate fondue onto a bowl of icecream, which she'd had off to a trainer who'd arrived too late for dinner, a thick fog of sugary steam raising off of the bowl as the molten, rich chocolate coating the frozen delight, the nurse putting the empty bowl on a cart, the chansee rushing the cart off to the kitchen.

Unaware the trainer missed dinner, he still accepted his fate, he was beat to the punch, or rather, the ice cream. Besides, he had something better, Blitzle- but not to eat! That same Blitzle was handed off to Nurse Joy along with Rook. "Thank you, and thanks again for dinner, it was delicious."

"Well, if we could find anyone that wants a battle at this hour, I'm not against it, unless you're suggesting we go against each other. I have a feeling you'd win that one. I won't turn the offer down though, any training's good!"
Jamie looks saddened at seeing her dessert being taken by someone else while handing over the Tympole to the nurse, but her attitude quickly changed when asked about bugs. "Why NOT bugs? They're adaptable, cute, evolve quickly, and you can find them nearly everywhere, besides. I just really get them, you know? My mom taught me a lot about them, so may as well use what I got." Jamie looks thoughtful for a moment, before leaning in conspiratorily closer to Orin. "Plus, psychic types kinda creep me out, so may as well be prepared to deal with them."

"One on one sounds good, yea! I dunno if this is a good location for a battle though, the guard guy already seemed kinda annoyed with us. Maybe we could check out the mine and battle there too?"

"My main concern is the mines at night without Rook. Especialy if we'll be doing damage to each other. We could head back to the path we came into town from."

"Mmmmmmmmmmmm... eh, I suppose so. We can just head over to the mines tomorrow, anyways. You wanna head out now, or wait for Rook? I'm not planning on using Tympole, but I can stand waiting a few minutes."

"I kinda suspected that'd be the case. I'm thinking Speedy's still raring to go, but if you wanna battle someone else, I can work with that too! It's training, after all."

Once the two headed out, the guardsman not to be seen, they would get to a nice little patch of field, perfect for facing off with. The moon was waneing, the starlight providing a nice, if not slightly darker, lighting, the shadows of the grass dancing across the field in an almost entrancing pattern with the mild bouts of wind.

Scanning the spot with approval, "no no, whome every yout like. So a KO is a hard stop, nor direct trainer interferance, and either trainer can call the match, forfiting."
Orin summoned Bindi, patting it as a sign of affection, "time for a battle, like we practiced, it's jus for play, Speedy is a friend, and remember, try not to eat him, and do your best."
Bindi was momentarily disheartened by being told not to eat. Trubbish didn't have much of a game face, but was ready to square off none the less.

"Works for me!" Jamie replied enthusiastically. As Speedy crawls off her shoulder, she starts giving a pre-battle pep talk. "Ok, Speedy, remember. Your speed is your greatest asset, so stay a ways back and keep peppering Bindi until we win!" Speedy nods furiously, before hastily scooting back a ways through the grass and firing a sting, signaling the start of the battle.

The sting clipped Bindi, and Orin saw the uphill battle before him, but what's fun in easy? "That's how it is huh? Bindi, get up in Speedy's face, run, no holds!"
Bindi hustles and gets nose to nose with Speedy.

Both Speedy and Jamie were surprised by how quickly Bindi covered the distance between the two battlers, but Jamie quickly recovered her cool, for the most part. "Ok, uh, plan B! Defense before offense!" Speedy doesn't need to be told twice with an opponent right up against him preparing for something, and quickly curls into a ball, pointing his spines toward Bindi in an attempt to keep him away further.

'We'very got a fight,' Orin was excited both he and Jamie were adapting to battling.
"Bindi, we're going to haverify tI try and breaking through that armor, focus that Brutal Training into a Pound attack."

The Pound scores a hit on Speedy, though most of the force bounces off the curved shell at an angle. "Alright, roll with the punches, and into them! See if you can't whack them a good one, eh?" Though markedly slower than when still on his feet, Speedy aims a charge directly towards Bindi.

Orin felt out of options, and things were looking grim, but there's no need to give up. Orin just wanted to see what Bindi could do, and give both her and Speedy a workout. "Binda, stay close, keep Pounding."

Another blow strikes the Venipede's shell, to minimal result. The Trubbish is making some headway, but it's slow going, and Speedy isn't content to just sit curled in a ball and take hits. With another attack endured, Speedy counters, ramming towards Bindi a second time.

"Way to dodge Bindi!"
Orin considers a grapple, but weighs out the benefits of doing so. Bindi, jazzed by the missed attack is ready for more. "Keep it up!"
To Jamie, "poison versus poison sure complicates things, huh?"
