Charizard takes the attack and counters it, hurting Ossia for 28 damage.

Ossia faints under the attack. Floyd recalls her and approaches Aaron.
"That was a good battle. First time I've ever seen a mega evolution. Was it difficult to attain? My friends seem determined to pursue it and I suspect I'll need to follow so I don't get left in the dust."
He asks politely.

Aaron's Charizard reverts to its regular form as the battle ends. It seems worn out. Aaron ponders your question for a moment.
"It was somewhat challenging to find the Mega Stone itself, yes, but most of the work went into getting him to control his new strength. If you aren't careful, your Pokemon can become overwhelmed by it and go berserk."

Floyd considers this and nods.
"I'll make sure to practise somewhere isolated. And to track you down for a rematch afterwards."
He promises.

Floyd walks into Celadon City bright and early, ready to fight.

Floyd enters a mostly empty Celadon Gym (as usual). A young woman in the Gym's purple-ish uniform is lounging on the couch, watching TV. She doesn't seem to notice him enter. It's not Atropa, so it must be one of the other Gym Trainers he hasn't seen before.

Floyd clears his throat before speaking.
"Hello. I'm Atropa's brother and I'm here to challenge the gym leader."
He says, almost disappointed he isnt explaining this to utter darkness.

The person seems focused on their show and just mutters a 'whatever, find 'em yourself'. Looking around the building reveals only two small (and currently unoccupied) offices. One of which is a storage room.

Floyd returns to the front of the gym and stands between the woman and the tv.
"I already did the dark room taunting, the hidden door and the moving corridor tricks. Do you want me to start looking for hidden mechanisms in the television or are you going to tell me where the gym leader is?"
He asks with a flat tone.

"The TV is just a TV. Not my job to keep track of where the Leader goes. Not my problem if its inconvenient to some random Trainer. Unless you wanna make it my problem by making yourself a problem. Which is what you're doing now. Why don't you call your sister and ask her? If they're both out, there's at least a possibility they're together. Even if not, she's more likely to know than me."
She sighs and tries to look past you at the TV again. When you shift to continuously block her view she groans.
"Look, kid. I'm literally only here to 'hold down the fort' as it were. I have a very simple job. I own exactly one Pokemon, and it's more of a pet than a fighter. It wouldn't be much of a challenge to you even if you insisted we fight. If you really want the Badge that badly, then put in the extra effort to track down the Leader. Either that, or I can just go grab a Badge and hand it to you right now. Your choice. Either way, quit bugging me about it."

"What is your job? To turn off the lights if someone new shows up?"
Floyd asks curiously, albeit with a scowl.
"And I'd have the badge already if this gym hadn't been abruptly closed on the day Champion Lilith was visiting gyms to assert her dominance. But fine."
He releases Falchion, nodding at the confident Bisharp.
"FInd the secret passage."
He orders.

"Nah, I don't bother with that nonsense. I leave that to the Leader and those who follow her like Lillipups." She laughs a bit when you mention the time the Gym was 'abruptly closed'. "Why the hell you think it was closed? Nobody wants to have to face down the Champion directly if they can avoid it. Not like it mattered though, Champion got what she wanted in the end. Always does."
"If you're looking for secret passages though, you're gonna be here awhile. They're all over. How else do you think they keep challengers guessing? Erica may not have been a ninja, but apparently it's stupid easy to get special contractors to install those type of shenaningans and keep it quiet when you have practically unlimited money."
After some time, Floyd and Falchion have really only discovered the one trap door that Floyd knows* is there, the one near the door that drops people into the trick room.
* - Lia and/or Kaeda probably told him about it, since he was unconscious when he arrived in the trick room.

Floyd glares at the girl and starts tapping on the walls with the hilt of his knife, looking for secret passages. He starts with the left wall from the front door and works around the room.

Floyd finds no additional secret passages, and the "bench/couch warmer" offers no further advice or knowledge. Of course, by the time he's finished tapping each wall section at least five times, some of the others return to the Gym.
"Finally gone round the bend, Auri? Was beginning to think you'd never go full-on paranoid. Then again, based on that literal tinfoil hat book I saw in your bag first time you were here, I suppose it may have happened a lot sooner than I thought."

Floyd turns to Atropa with an exasperated smile, recognising the woman he previously spoke to about her.
"She told me to find you or the leader through the secret passages. And the book keeps telepaths out of my head, so I'm prepared for if the crazy fairy queen starts kidnapping people again. What were you doing instead of your job - polishing your spear?"
He says, gesturing to the couch patato.

The TV watcher reminds you that she did not, in fact say 'find them through secret passages', but just said 'call Atropa', as in, use your bloody phone. You were the one who decided 'find them' means 'search every inch of this building for secret passages'.
Atropa and Nalkeya give you an odd look when you mention a 'crazy fairy queen'. "The hell are you talking about, Auri? 'Crazy Fairy Queen'? I was mostly joking earlier, but maybe you really are paranoid. I've never heard of a 'crazy fairy queen' or any kidnappings."

Floyd gives the couch potato a strange look when she mentions his phone.
"Yous said to find them myself. Also I thought you meant walk around calling out for her, because I don't have her phone thingy."
He then turns back to Atropa and the unknown woman.
"Turns out there are portals to the fairy realm north of Cerulean City. They were kidnapping people to use them as slaves via brainwahsing. Turned one guy into a bug person - his name was Dan, he came in here a few days ago. We asked the police for help, they proved useless then kicked up a fuss in the fairy realm. Then some purple haired lady with a Houndoom showed up and made the queen back down. Said the queen's name was Mia and that they were sisters. Then a giant portal opened up back to Cerulean - you can probably find photos of it if you look wherever people keep photos."
He explains.

Atropa gives you a flat look. "Whatever you say, Auri. Bug Boy didn't even stick around more than a minute after catching Nalkeya and her gf doing it on the couch. Which I'm sure she planned somehow."
Nalkeya merely offers a cheeky grin in response to these allegations.
TV girl: *scoffs* "How was I supposed to know you don't have your own sister's phone number? I figured you did since that's usually a thing siblings have, even if it's only an emergency contact."

"You've met her right?"
Floyd says to the couch potato, before turning back to Atropa.
"Is that why he tried to warn me off? I was half expecting a pendulum axe to be deliberately set up to cut off my hair or something from how he acted."
He shrugs and grins.
"Now, I'm here to challenge the gym leader. Shall we get to the fun part?"

Atropa looks at you sideways. "'A pendulum to cut off your hair'. Really? Eh, I suppose that is the sort of thing you'd think. Anyway, Nalkeya's right here. You met her last time. I'm telling you this because I'm half-certain that you wouldn't have realized it otherwise."
The buxom blonde from last time gives you a wave.
"Not sure why you're so excited about fighting, but meh, I guess I had to get around to it eventually. Let's get this over with so I can kick your ass already."
