Ira blinks, having only half listened to Hau's explanation because the idea of changing out of his trenchcoat having briefly broken him.
He shakes his head. "Yeah, dunno about "spirits", but I gotto agree. That kinda challenge might be fun and all, but probably better to focus on the real problems you've got." He sighs. "Even if you're not allowed to say what they are."

Hau gives a chuckle at Ira's statement. "The problem was solved last year," he says, and the becomes serious. "The reason we don't talk about it is twofold. One, we don't want anyone trying to recreate the problem, and two, we still don't understand what happened, and we honestly don't want to. That was some bad stuff that happened. People are still hurting from it." He claps Ira on the shoulder, brightening up. "C'mon. There are no problems in Alola worth your paranoia anymore. Let's hit the beach and have some fun."

"The island Challenge sounds interesting. But we'll see more about that later. I'am iching to get to the beach. So lets get going!" Elise says before walking towards the stairs.

Ira snorts. "No problems just means they're not visible. Besides, it's only paranoia if it's irrational. Still, not gonna figure anything out staying here, so let's-" He shrugs, but stops, his eyes widening, as he gets a whiff of his clothes.
Turns out that a long, cramped, overhot, underhydrated flight didn't exactly do his smell any favours. His coat is fine, which is good since he has no intention of leaving it, but the clothes under it? Less so.
"Let's get changed, then go out." He finishes, making his way towards the stairs as well.

Kane looks as the others go off to get changed. He stands idly by, unsure of what to do.
"Oh I'll just sit there then mortals. No need to worry . . . "
There's a good chance that the only clothes Kane brought were more of his hero costumes, not exactly beach appropriate

A few minutes later, your rooms have been chosen and your changing complete (except for Kane, who, it turns out, only packed hero costumes.) Fortunately, according to Hau, Melemele Beach does have some swim stores set up on the beachfront, so it's not that big a problem. The beach itself is encircles almost the entire island, and while many portions of it are packed with tourists, the part Hau has led you to is not. There are some people there, of course, but not many. Of Pokemon, however, there are several to be seen: Wingull gliding about, Shellder and Tentacool washed up on the beach, Binacle sitting on rocks... so many choices!

Kane glares at the sun. They weren't meant to be around each other for such long periods of time. Kane would've been sure to get a large umbrella, or at least a giant tarp that he could tape to his sword for a makeshift umbrella to keep him safe from the demon rays emanating from the Oni Star of Infinite Death.
"Hauuuuuuu-I don't understand this place. What is a noble hero supposed to do here?"

Hau shrugs. "Well, even a great hero needs to train, right? Find a Pokemon and battle it. Or, if you like a particular Pokemon, capture it!"

"Training? Hmm yes! Of course! Truly this is a calling from the heavens to grant Takumi an opportunity to exhibit his prowess in a foreign land!"
Kane looks around him, and finds a shellder on the beach. He approaches it and pulls out Takumi
"Demon! I challenge you to battle! Takumi shall make swift work of you!"

Ira shakes his head a little, suppressing a smile at his little brother. Guess shard hunting's going to have to wait.
Backing up a couple of steps, he releases Chase beside him.
"Chase, Kane's picking a fight with a Shellder. Shouldn't be a problem, but let's keep him covered."
Chase growls and nods, scuffing a paw in front of him, ready to leap in.

"Don't worry if things go badly we'll cover for you. Right?" She said as she tossed her pokéball containing Daisy on the ground. The last question was aimed at the Ralts she just released.

The Shellder sticks its tongue out at you and makes a raspberries noise, as if daring you to attack it. Sensing the impending conflict, a pair of Pykumuku heave themselves out of the water and slowly make their way towards you, with clearly hostile intent. The map has been made, and initiative has been set. Go to Roll20 to take your turns. First up: Elise!

"Come on brothers, let's do this." Elise moved a little and started to sing, though some might call it cheering. "In a new land far away~ Brother dives in the fray~"Didn't really sound perfect, but she hoped it would help in the situation. She could improve a bit on it later. Afterwards Daisy moved itself away towards the Pykumuku. But since it wasn't ordered to attack them she decided to just wait until they came closer to attack. Chase growls at the approaching Pyukumuku, but stays put for the moment - not only was he simply told to keep the others covered, but he's pretty sure he couldn't get to either of them and attack before they get a chance to hit him. Instead, he lets loose a howl, both to intimidate his opponents and to get himself primed for the attack. Chase uses Howl Raises his Attack by 1 CS

The Shellder hops off the rock it sits on towards Takumi. It uses the move Tackle, diving headlong into the Frillish's squishy body; however, Takumi's body absorbs much of the blow, so it isn't much affected. Takumi takes 6 damage, accounting for his Defense.

Takumi takes the hit with grace, and attempts an absorb on the Shellder, but fails . . . with grace

Seeing the pair of Pyukumuku coming into the fray, Ira runs forward, locking eyes (or whatever those spots on the front are) with one of them. "Alright," he says slowly, "you sure you wanna do this?"Ira uses Leer on Right Pyukumuku Lowers Pyukumuku's Defense by 1 CS

As Takumi totally misses his absorb, Kane gives off a look of concern. It doesn't help that he totally accompanied his friend's attack with a battle pose and everything
"Uh-O-o-Obviously that was just Takumi giving that poor, defenseless opponent an opportunity to surrender. No need to show such mercy Takumi. These feral thralls know nothing of surrender."

As Kane stammers, the Pyukumuku advance, slowly wriggling across the beach. The one Ira tried to intimidate sidles up to him and uses Mud Sport, spraying both Ira and itself with mud. The second one goes up to Takumi and begins to glow red as it uses Bide.

"Brothers! Be careful!" She said as she saw the aggressive behavior of the pyukumuku. She moved closer to them and started the hum a calm song to bring the pyukumuku to sleep. Which didn't quite get through.
"Daisy! A little help here please?" She called out to her pokémon who attacked the non biding pyukumuku with a confusion.
