"Yes, here it is: Good Evening dear Explorer. I write to you in some excitement and concern, as I believe you have found the resting place of a so called "Guardian", powerful Pokemon that are rarely seen if at all, and are mostly lost to myths and tales. I can not tell you which Guardian, nor can I ascertain what mood it will be once freed, from which my concern stems. I therefore can only implore you to practice utmost caution and hope for your good health. Also, I will pay dearly for exclusive footage. DON'T YOU DARE SELL IT TO THAT PHONY.......I am going to stop reading this now Darling, I feel I might get a Virus from it. Sounds Ominous, but maybe Guardian isn't as bad as "Obliterator", or "Destroyer""

Elliot takes a deep breath, gesturing to Hoist and Rotor to stop. Turning, he regards Buck and Bea. "So, we've got some potential good news. And possibly also some bad news. Whatever is in here is likely pretty powerful, rare, and may be a little irritated when we wake it up. So, do you guys want to risk popping this thing's cork? It sounds like the footage from its release would be worth a ton of money." He taps his hammer against the heel of one boot, looking contemplative. "Personally, I think it's worth the risk. Besides if we don't, who knows if some other exploration team may come around that's got a more mercenary mindset, tries to break the crystal off while keeping whatever is in there contained, and brings it up to the surface to sell. I'd rather we minimize the potential risk to anyone up top."

Buck waves the crystals around temptingly towards the creatures eyes, taking one and taking an exaggerated pretend bite out of one while holding the other out towards it in offering.
"Ah don't know about that. I've heard some rumors of these types, super powered psychics sleepin like this when somethins gonna get it. Best case the poor thing feels threatened it's barrier broke and blows our heads open. Worst case we bring whatever Nasty wanted it dead'n the first place."
He keeps waving around the crystal. "Less it's just scared of sableye ah guess. But you fellas wouldn't hurt a fly, right? Or sink a boat..."

Beatrix eyes the crystal warily for a moment, then checks the bolt on her rifle. "Well, worse comes to worst it has been awhile since my last big hunt. I'll put in an order while we keep digging at it, as a just in case." Beatrix flips open her Dex. "Need to put in a requisition for a psychic brace and perhaps some munitions that would be better then standard .308 rounds against Psychic Pokemon."

Elliot nods firmly, before turning to Buck. "If you want to stay, your help with the situation would be most appreciated. I'm sure that if it's grateful then perhaps it'd even grant us a boon." Turning back to Rotor and Hoist, he directs them to continue, and has Dot begin recording everything. He also takes a moment to skim over the message the professor had sent, to see who he didn't want the footage sent to, and how much it might be worth to him.

Elliot thinks it's a certain Professor Acer, who also studies mythology and the place of pokemnon in it. No answer for the time being, maybe he needs a moment to read the message, if Elliot tries to contact him.
Dex chimes:" Got the brace for 3000 and the ammo....uhhh....novelty shop only, and doesn't look too promising. Might as well try as you are, ma'am!"
Buck is required to make me a Perception check.
Chipping at the crystal yields more shards, Elliot notes that these shards are richer in color and a bit cloudy. Beatrix notices that the Spoinks are edging away, and the Bergmites are getting closer to eat the shards.

"Pfff... Send that brace on over in a hurry. Boys we're making the little psychics anxious, don't think we're in for a good time with this." Beatrix urges the Rhyhorn out of the water and gets settled out to a good range. Sprawling out across Indiana's back, she rests the barrel of her gun over his stony plated forehead. "If you're sure about this, I'm keeping an eye from down range." She waits quietly for the item to arrive, and when it does, clips the ornate looking brace with a purple stone embedded in it along the same spot her rifle rests.

Elliot examines the newer shards even as his mon continue to chip away, trying to determine what's prompted the color change.

Buck suddenly feels a shove from behind, tumbling forward. The shard in his hand gone. Seems like the little bugger snuck up behind Buck and ambushed him when he was focused elsewhere. When he get's up again, he can only hear a cackle and nothing more.
Dot informs Beatrix:" That item will take at least an hour to arrive. Safety precautions and such, so it doesn't end up in another persons storage."
Elliot thinks that the cloudyness could be residual psychic energy. A LOT of residual energy. He may even come to the conclusion that this could have been the first layer of the crystal.

"Okay guys, look sharp, we're getting close to the center. Pretty sure these shards are from the first layer. And apparently they're infused with some psychic energy. Hoist, Rotor; be careful now. Think of this like excavating an egg. Buck, here, see if these entice the little gremlins." The two mon roll their eyes, but do begin using more precise chips and squirts of acid, doing their best to clear a large patch near the mon's face. Elliot scoops up some of the psychically charged shards, and tossed them to Buck before he takes up position in front of the excavation site, holding out Dot to record. "Dot, if you detect any movement whatsoever from inside the crystal, let me know immediately. Got it?"

Buck takes the new crystals, along with the one gem shard he had left, and held them conspicuously up.
"Curses! Ah've been outwitted. Ah must now store away my delicious and valuable gems so they can't be tricked away!"
He then takes out a great ball, and using slight of hand pretends to put the gemstones into the ball.
"Woops."
He exaggeratedly 'trips' over, dropping the ball and letting it roll just out of his reach.

Buck whispers, perhaps a bit too loudly to Elliot.
"Think they fell for it?"

"It's been awhile, but come hells or high water I'm ready." Beatrix languishes across the back of her Rhyhorn still. She had always yearned for this kind of hunt, but didn't expect the waiting to be while listening to the sounds of chipping rock. It was certainly a new experience for the books.

"You mean, like right now? Because it is moving!", notes Dot to Elliot.
As Buck tries once more, unsuccessfully, to lure in Sableye, and Elliot's Pokemon work at the crystal, it happens that the crystal cracks, large chunks splashing into the water. At this point even the most stoutest of Bergmite skedaddle as quick as their diminutive legs allows them. Any other Pokemon that was still around has seemingly vanished into thin air!
Another loud pop is heard and finally it burst in two and the Pokemon is laid bare. It is small, just barely a foot long, it's head longs like a yellow bicycle helmet, crested with a red gemstone in the center of it's forehead. It's eyes are closed tightly. It hovers in the remains of it's crystal, and seems to be looking around as it turns it's head around, albeit the eyes are still closed. Psychic types, who understands them.
It seems confused, but not outright hostile, for now. It seems to ignore you in fact. How do you want to deal with being ignored?

"Um, hello. Please don't be alarmed, my companions and I were the ones to wake you up. It's a great pleasure to meet you. I'm Elliot, the two mon next to you are Rotor and Hoist, they did most of the heavy digging. The man over there is Buck, and the woman behind me is Beatrix. Elliot smiles, slowly placing Dot back into his breast-pocket in order to keep filming. He also makes a "put the weapon down" gesture at Beatrix. Rotor lets out a happy "Shrew!" as the young pokemon waved a claw at the newcomer. Hoist on the other hand seems to be warier, simply scrunching down and eying the psychic-type from its position close to the ground.
"She was a little nervous because we weren't certain how you'd react to being woken, especially since we were told that Guardians of your caliber take such actions as last-ditch attempts to keep safe or heal."

Beatrix slowly slides the barrel of her gun off of the brace across Indiana's forehead and lets it rest against her thigh as she sits up. "I was itching for a fight, but there ain't really any sport in putting lead in some'n that just woke up." She sighs softly. "Pleased t'meet you."

As the sableye vanish Buck scratches his head. He was sure that one would work. Oh well.
Getting down to gather up the stuff he dropped, he notices his companions talking behind him.
He turns his head and finds that they had actually managed to free the creature after all.
It didn't seem like they were fighting it but Buck wasn't really sure how best to proceed from here. So, going with his instinct, he holds out a mug. "Mornin'. Ya thirsty?" It worked with the undead guy at least. Kind of.
Buck looks at this particular one to see if he knows anything about it.
