"Yes, that'll be ideal. I'll show you all how to use the app, and we can talk at the cafe"
Sparrow assists you all in using the app, and you manage to transfer out of mythos, and return to your world. Everything seems to be just as you left it. No one is panicked, concerned, or getting attacked by smiling ghosts with claw hands. Your clothes have returned to normal, and your personas seem to be nowhere. However, as you feel an alert on your phone go off, you'll see that you've gotten a new app. JACK MESSENGER. It's similar to the facebook messenger app, and it says you have a message, specifically, you each get a contact notification message from your individual personas. It seems with this you'll all be able to contact your personas while still in the real world
Sparrow has also changed back to street clothes. The bruises, cuts, and overall damage seems to have disappeared, as if the boy didn't just fall from the sky
He leads you all to the aforementioned cafe, finds a table for the group, and sips from his verde unicorn frapaccino (comes with free unicorn plushie when bought in verde). The drink is nearly the size of his torso.
"Apologies for making you wait so long. Considering that you managed to save my life, I should at least give you some answers. So please, ask me anything you want, and I'll answer it to the best of my abilities."
"It's hard to explain. It's kind of like another dimension that hosts the physical manifestations of all human emotions. Stuff that happens over there affects stuff here, and vice versa. So when people are emotionally taxed here, it creates stronger monsters in the other world, and in more numbers. When those monsters roam around too much, they start affecting other people in this world, making them sick, depressed, or any other kind of negative thing. It's up to people like me to keep things in that world from getting out of hand"
Sparrow pulls out a tarot card. It's blank, and seems far less significant than it did in Mythos "A persona is the inner self. It's a personification of who you truly are, unhindered by negative emotions. I guess you could say it's how you'd choose to be if you were to design yourself. These cards are meaningless here, but in Mythos they act as a catalyst, allowing us to summon our personas without having to go through any life threatening turmoil, like the way shadows are made"
Now that the fighting was over and conversation began to flow between them, Miguel relaxed as he sipped his cortado and ate his croissant. It was a good lull for a brief spar and it allowed him to absorb the admittedly absurd yet seemingly true information that the boy was giving them. He wouldn't have believed the boy no matter how open his mind was if he hadn't experienced the world through that app himself, honestly. Still, the topic was more than enough to keep his normally fleeting interest more than it usually would, and his attention was grabbed by one thing in particular.
"People like you, you say? So there are more out there aside from you and now us." He remarked after putting down his cup of coffee. "Do they all believe the same as you, or do they have other agendas within this Mythos?"
Ciara took a sip from her coffee and gave the boy a deadpan stare.
"Look, we're already a part of this, Like it or not. We have access to the app, have... Personas. Knowing that the shadows are causing all of this chaos in the city, I don't think I, at least, can just ignore it when I can do something about it"
She did give the boy a jesting smile, however.
"Plus, you're like twelve. If it's too dangerous for us, it's too dangerous for you"
Jericha nods along with Ciara's point. "Mhm. I dunno much about whatever the hell this is, but what happens if we just fall back into that world again without reason again, hm? What if some innocent bystander gets pulled into...that place, and they don't have a persona?"
Sparrow seems irritated, but is obviously understanding to your logic (even if he doesn't want to admit it). He tries to hide his face with the unicorn frap "Just for the record, I'll be 13 in 3 months . . ."
How noble. He could practically smell the stink of self-righteousness over these girls and the concern of the boy over the pleasant aroma of his cortado. Still, the boy was already spilling things he'd wanted to hear before he made a decision about this. Zoroark was awesome and the power he felt while in Mythos was definitely intriguing, but this wasn't a thing that he could just impulsively jump into. Life and death situations rarely ever were.
He had the scars to prove it.
He took another sip of his cortado before looking at the boy over his cup. "The Jack App appeared in our phones before we were pulled in. I don't think refusal is an option anymore, is it? Because from your own words it seems like you would like to do just that." He then inclined his head. "But as the saying goes, united we stand. Won't you tell us more about this group you keep dancing around?"
Ciara couldn't help but look at Miguel. The man's face had contorted just a bit.
"I don't think it's as simple as Jericha put it, but the fact is that we've apparently been pushed into this. I, at least, have no idea how we ended up in Mythos, and the same could happen to my friends. Had you not been there with the cards, we'd be dead. What if that happens to them? While I had the power to stop it, and didn't?"
She looked up at the ceiling fans and took another sip of coffee.
"I'm tired of being helpless and sidelined. And of others attempting to run my life. I'm in this now, and I'm not letting you take that away from me"
"The group isn't really a special organization or anything. We're just a bunch of people that found ourselves with the Jack app, saw the messed up stuff happening in Mythos, and decided to do something about it. I don't know much more about the app outside of how to use it, but our leader seemed to know every detail besides how it even came into existence. She decided that it took people like her, and SPECIFICALLY people like her, to be willing to risk their lives in Mythos in the hopes of maintain at least some shred of balance between the two worlds."
Sparrow seems a bit more grim as the conversation of his group goes on
"Don't get me wrong, I would never give up the Jack app, but that's not because it's fun or anything. It's because it's scary. It's really scary, and dangerous. If you leave the world of Mythos breathing, your injuries are all gone, but if you die there, you die for good. I don't want innocent people getting involved with that. I don't mean to imply that you're weak or anything, but I really don't want you going in there just to die . . ."
Sparrow becomes stern
"But you all seem really determined. I'm not going to convince you to just forget this ever happened will I?" Fine. We can at least get you introduced with the group if you still want . . ."
This whole time Suzume had been sipping her own unicorn frappe, clutching the Unicorn she'd gotten for purchasing the Verde once she saw the deal sparrow got and messaging her inner self. Messaging App:
"I appreciate it, Sparrow. Thanks for understanding"
Putting her coffee down, Ciara inspected the detailed sketches of the creatures they'd seen in the other world. The grinning, ghostlike faces were swarming and the texture of the light, foggy charcoal against the stark, uneven lines and heavy chiaroscuro looked really appealing. She might have to actually make a clean portrait of this later.
"I made some drawings of what we faced. Here"
She slid her sketchpad across the table, then pulled out her phone.
Sparrow is taken aback from suzume's smile. Obviously something he's not used to. The boy notices his blushing, and grabs the sketchbook to cover his face. As he looks upon it he's surprised to discover that it is quite impeccable. It's sobers him.
"Ciara, this is incredible. This is a perfect picture of a Haunter"
Miguel looked thoughtful as he sipped at his cortado and ate is croissant while the boy explained about this organization. It sounded more like a ragtag group brought together by one strong and charismatic presence than any true organization. Not only that, but their leader was a wealth of information in regards of this mysterious application and presumably Mythos as well. Do the risks outweigh the rewards?
Well, his new employer would be pissed if he didn't at least take a gander at this golden opportunity presented before him. He got to lay low relatively speaking and possibly influence the world in a way that would not reach conventional radars and that was something he had to at least look into. And if it gave him a good reputation with the more normal citizens, it was all the better for his cover.
"Thank you, Sparrow. That would be very much appreciated." He took a moment to pause and look over the well-made sketches of what the boy called a Haunter -how quaint- before humming in appreciation. "That looks striking. Are you an artist perhaps, Ciara?" He asked her as he looked over at her.
Jericha seemed to be staring at Suzume intensely. With a small grunt she got up without a word, went back up to the register, and after a minute or two, she came back with a Unicorn Verde. She kept to herself as everyone looked at the cool drawings on the table. Hopefully that would distract from the unicorn shaped lump inside of her track jacket. Jericha's phone vibrates, and she looks at the Messaging App:
"Oi Oi Oi!! Is that really something a girl of your age sh-!" [Message Deleted] "Hey! Don't ign-!" [Message Deleted]
She shoved the phone back into her pocket despite the loud vibrating alerts. She then looks around at everybody. "Oi. What should we do now? Is there anything we should cautions of? We aren't just gonna slip into Mythos while we are sleeping, or taking a jog, right? Also, I know we gots our personas, but we should probably pick up some extra protection. You know, like weapons and such." Her phone continues to buzz. "Ugh! How about gettin a different persona!? Can we do that!?" She whips out her phone and taps out curse words furiously.

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.
Dec 2, 2019 19:05:30 GMT
but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

i wanted to join a living server on roll20 to learn the system but they ignored my application for 2 weeks then blocked me

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
