"Well it seems the stones are some kind of seal, they kept Horace out, so unless we're opting for "the destroy it open" approach I think you should leave them Shoko." It takes a moment for the absurdity of what she just said to sink in. "Horace are you dead?" She stares incredulously at Horace.

With her continual efforts to pry the stones out of the slots, Shoko turns from curious to internally irate. " But I wanna get in..." She mumbles to herself. " And these stones.. i want <3," she thinks to herself and she starts to fidget and play with her fingers. Upon hearing a voice behind her tell her not to play with the stones, she sighs and walks to the door. Her fist glows a slight shade of sky blue before she angrily punches at it releasing a strong blast of energy. 9PY3Fj1K1d20 3d8+10+18 <-- borked this roll, whoops 3d8+28 flying special damage on the door. That'd be minus 1 blue shard and her use of Judgment for the day.

The Thunder stone smoothly slides out of the cube as Evie pulls, apparently being utterly unsecured.
When Shoko loses her temper and attacks the cube shatters, stone being blown in every direction by a mighty wind. You all take 5 rock damage.
Once the wind dies down and you shake the sand and stone off of you you look at what was uncovered. A 5m square hole leading downwards for ten metres until emerging in a square stone room, lit by a steady pale green light. Along the sides of the hole are rectangular holes, obviously to act as a makeshift ladder downwards.
If Shoko wants to try and recover shards, she can make a roll as normal, restricted only to the colours that would be produced by Thunder, Dusk and Dawn stones.

Karla brushes off the rocks and dust. "How about a little warning next ti- Oh no." Karla sees Sparkles glowing and knows immediately that Shoko has caused trouble. It is in fact with great relief that she sees that Sparkes is merely pushing Shoko into the temple, rather than trying to explode Shoko's brain with her mind. "Looks like you're going in first... You should probably just go with this, you do not want to make the psychic death kitty mad... der" Sparkles actually seems to preen slightly at being called a death kitty.

Cassandra shields her eyes as something is exploded quite suddenly. When the dust clears, and it is revealed that the stone she specifically told these "children" not to touch was not only touched, but exploded into dust and detritus.
"You know, when I said 'don't touch it', while I didn't expect people would listen, I also was not expecting a frustrated child to blow it up because they couldn't move it. You don't even know what that stone was keeping in. Nobody just puts something like that there for fun."

"Results."
Shoko looks to spot some shards as she's suddenly accosted by a psychic cat pushing her in to the entrance. She spots the indents along the wall of the shaft and seeing as she appears to have little option. "I'm on it, Sparkles," her usual uninterested tone contrasting the thumbs up and bored smile (though not a sarcastic one).
As she continues towards the opening, she scans the ground, sending Mirk after any shiny looking spots hoping to recover any of the stones. Her display of power left the stones shattered, but they would still make for good shards. In the end, Mirk returned with six shards in his mouth, which he dropped off in her inner pockets and then curled around her again.
At the hole's entrance, she peeked down and poked at her coat signaling Mirk to retrieve an item. "Flashlight." Mirk spiraled out of her slightly bopped the side of her head in retaliation for the poke and dug his face into her backpack. He emerged with a flashlight and the two of them descended slowly down the shaft. Mirk held the flashlight, now on, in his mouth so that Shoko could properly lower herself down the makeshift ladder indents.

Evie just sort of stares from Horace, who could apparently have gone through the rock if there hadn't been some weird mystical seal, to Shoko who has just outright blown it up, to Karla's "psychic death kitty". "... Is it like this all the time with you three?"
She rubs her thumb over the Thunderstone that came away in her hand and tucks it into her pocket. If she can't find a use for it later, she can sell it... or since Shoko seems to be interested in the stones, she guesses she could give it to her. Then she peers down the hole, wiping away a stray drop of blood from her cheek where a flying shard of stone caught her. It went right across the faint scar that was already there. And there's Shoko going down with that Dragonair playing third hand... which she guesses is useful, but frankly looks ridiculous.
She sighs and shakes her head. "Well, jester guy seems to think we're better off taking down whatever's in here. Not much choice now." This is intended as a reply to Cassandra's objections. She starts down the ladder after Shoko, down the hole into the strange green-lit room. A climb like this isn't much of a difficulty for her, even if she has a little trouble getting the toes of her boots into the niches.

"Nah, usually something's trying to kill us." Karla deadpans in response to Evie. She then bends down to Sparkles and pets the cat. "I'll give you a good cleaning later, for now how about you get in your ball and leave here to me?" Sparkles stops trying to push Shoko and accepts this, and is recalled. Karla then decides to be the next down the hole. It does occur to her that oh shit, what she said to Evie is kinda true and rather disconcerting.

After getting blown back by the explosion Horace lays down on the ground shocked and in silence for upwards of a minute. Throughout the entire time he remains completely frozen and doesn't respond to what anybody says or does.
His silence is immediately broken by cackling and joyful laughter, "Well I surely wasn't expecting that. I'd say that was a blast! I can't wait to see what else this place has to throw at us. Well it's time to go on." Horace turns his head towards Evie, "Well I don't know about the rest of the group but I would say what Shoko just did is pretty normal for some of my experiments. Can't truly know if you are getting results if something doesn't blow up or horribly mutate."
Horace starts to walk down into the temple and lights his lighter in order to gain a little more vision. He seems to be his usual self at this point without a care or fear in the world.

With an exasperated groan, Cassandra picks her way down into the hole as well. Beats waiting up top by herself.

Once you're down in the chamber your eyes rapidly adjust to the gloom, though it's a struggle to call what you see a reward. The air is stale and the floor is covered in layers of damp sand. On the walls are carvings - most of them are of skeletons and skulls,of both pokemon and humans - though it is surprising to see that the pokemon skulls include species that aren't from Sinnoh. On the northern wall there's a different carving on what might be a door - it's slightly recessed but you can't see any handles, hinges or seams. The new carving only has 3 skull symbols and shows what may be perfectly normal pokemon either guarding or worshipping the skulls.

"Mirk. What do you think?" Mirk tilts his head to the side as he stares at the wall. He rhythmically sways his head side to side as he ponders what exactly Shoko believes he'll be able to do here. Regardless, he recedes into her coat after placing the flashlight in her hand and after squirming around in her coat somewhat blindly (though familiar with the inner pockets) he emerges with a small brush in his mouth, uncoils from Shoko, and begins to dust off the possible door to give Shoko and the others a better view.
He slithers back towards Shoko and positions himself in front of Shoko at nose level. He brings his face forward bopping her on the nose though the impact is a bit rough due to the limited light. "Yes, yes. Good job, Mirk." She pats and rubs his head gently before he coils around her again disappearing into her coat.
"I'll leave this one to you guys," she resigns as she recalls that just a moment ago, their new companions seemed less than pleased at her method (despite results being optimal). In the mean time, she resumes her role of flashlight holder.
("Mirk, a bit lower on the back please")

Karla takes out her Dex, first to take a picture of the door, and then to set it to scan mode. On the off chance that there actually is a Pokémon hiding in the door, or maybe it's just able to identify the pictures, she doens't know how it works. If it picks up nothing she slowly sweeps it along the other walls just to try to avoid ghost typed ambush.

The pokedex fails to detect any pokemon, though it clearly identifies the images of Golett, Sigilyph and Koffing. The two skulls cannot be identified.

Evie frowns as she inspects the wall curiously. That is... another dumb set of carvings. Great. She frowns as she considers the skulls; she doesn't hold out a lot of hope that she can make sense of them, but still. "Is it some kind of code? Are there more carvings like these ones?"She starts to search along the walls in search of carvings that match the ones on the door. If she can find matching skulls, or Goletts or Sigilyphs, maybe that will help? "I didn't think most of these Pokémon lived in Sinnoh."Poké Edu (What skulls are these?): 9 Perception (To look for matching carvings): 7

Evie recognises the lower skull as the exoskeletal helmet of a Cubone but fails to recognise the second skull.
The rest of the carvings in the room are of human skulls, presumably just signifying danger.

Horace is intrigued by the door he looks for any signs of wear or inconsistencies even running his hands along the door. Occasionally he lights up due to this discovery until he blurts out, "You know how amazing this discovery is... While it may bring impending doom to the world, I can't help but be so giddy about all of this!"After a while of searching Horace stands deep in thought before stating, "You know Shoko... Out there you might have been onto something." In a dry and inquisitive tone before throwing light shadowy punch directly at the image of the Duskull. Not enough to damage it but enough to bombard it with some ghostly energy. "And that's what I call the scientific method! Ha!" Horace exclaims before hoping to see something glow or change. 18 for Perception on the door searching for any impurities or wear. 15 for occult education to see if the specific images on the door depict a ritual.

The shadowy purple energy of Horace's punch is absorbed into the door, illuminating first the skulls and then the other pokemon. It slowly swings open, revealing a large dark corridor with what looks like several large statues standing within.

Cassandra is flabbergasted. Not once now, but twice "punch the thing!" has proven to be the correct solution.
"I wonder. What would you have done if that didn't work? You'd have only a hurt hand to show for it."

Evie purses her lips slightly. It is not entirely out of the question that she might be a little jealous of these people and their cool powers, even if they have issues to go with it. At least, she expects they have issues, though they're a little less obvious than some of the mutated people attending Rowan's speech. "Does it really matter?" Evie is beginning to find herself disliking Cassandra. She steps up next to Horace - in fact, if he doesn't stop her she'll probably push past him - to peer into the corridor. After a moment she digs out a flashlight of her own and shines it down into the dark passage, trying to see what lies ahead of them. If no immediate reason not to do so presents itself, she'll take the lead in moving forward; after all, they're not going to accomplish anything just standing around in the antechamber. Perception to see what lies ahead: 6.
