Corbett will barely notice 4 other men hiding off in the back. An urge to immediately attack will rise in him, but he'll decide to not start anything just yet. Instead he'll try and let Vicky keep their intention so he may sneak off to a spot 8-12 meters away where he may hide and ready his gun
Arnold's attention was first drawn to the Noivern, impressed to see the hulking form the flying dragon. After the rider spoke, he noted the intimidation welling up in himself. 'perhaps impressed is not prudent.'
Eyeing the trainer and his belt, 'this man is a trainer, and he is after pokemon, but why not just go into the reserve? Poaching pokemon that you have access to for a small fee? With a Noivern like that, he could undoubtedly afford it...'
Thinking of their destination; the reserve, just out of reach over the mans shoulder, Arnold noticed a rustling in the distance. He counted four men, who were indeed not looking for something, but crouched in awkward positions that could mean naut but ill intentions. While trying to think what to do next, he noted Vickie clutching Candle's ball. Removing a disposable notepad from a different pocket, he scribbled a note, tore it off and handed it to Vickie.
Trying to remain calm, and only letting off a little uncool, "you're looking for pokemon, we're looking for pokemon, why don't we all go in together? Your Noivern is a very impressive Dragon," when he said Dragon, he emphasized the word, trying to convey to his team, the type, "I'm sure your accompaniment would be greatly appreciated."
As he spoke he took a step back so as not to be on the front lines, if things went bad as he expected they could at any moment. He failed to noticed Corbett's attempt to slip away.
Vicky glances down at the note she was handed, if this is a trap then she would keep him busy long enough to let her companions prepare. She already noticed the group being down a member, assuming Corbett got to a better position.
"If it's rare enough for him to take out 3 trainers for it," Hoping he hadn't made a head count Vicky Continues, "Then it's likely quite valuable. My friend here is a bit of a brawler, and I'm more than a bit lucky, if you know what I mean. We could help fend off any potential other poachers for you. Even if you're as powerful as you seem, I don't think you want the hastle of taking us out." She bluffs poorly.
"I speak my intentions, for I can say whatever I wish. Nothing matters in the end, for I could just as readily be lying. But I can say this truthfully, I will not work with amateur Trainers. I work only with those who've earned my respect and my trust. Prove your strength to me, and I might just take you up on your offer. Or we can battle right now, and I'll take your dignity, if not your lives. Your call."
The man seemed confident, and his bravado could potentially be hinting at something far more here than simple criminal acts. He seemed unwavering however in his stance.
Raising his hands in front of him, palms forward in supplication, "OK, OK, we're just headed on a tour, no need to talk of taking lives."
Arnie forced a nervous grin to mask his true fears. Things are getting too hot too fast, a man threatening to hurt them, and he doesn't seem to be joking. On top of that more men in the bushes - that can't be good. Suppressing the urge to run and hide, Arnie stood firm, because he wasn't alone. His eyes darted around, his lean limbs tense and ready for whatever might come next.
Vicky grips the pokeball harder, She has her doubts this group could beat this man and his pokemon, if there's a trap set up like Arnold warns it's an even less likely victory. That's something her parents drilled into her, never take a bet you can't win.
"Prove our strength huh?", Vicky responds, apparently not noticing her partners capitulation, "And how exactly do you propose we do that? I imagine your steed has scared away anything worth fighting, and I don't think you'd take it very well if we attacked you unprompted." She hopes to keep him thinking, when this inevitably turns to conflict she doesn't want him prepared.
Tense now, Arnold knew it was time for a battle, and there was no avoiding it; even running did not guarantee peace at this point. 'Let's see what we're dealing with first,' he thought as his hand drew closer to the belt of poke balls around his waist. "Looks like our first taste of combat," he said to his team.
"Ebi, Front and center. Take aim and prepare to fire for effect" Nester starts barking out as the Clauncher stirs from on top of Nester's hat before hopping off and *click*ing her claw into a firing position.
Vicky readies candle's pokeball, winding up for a pitch at their opponents steed. "Let the best trainer win" she sneers.

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
