Ryota nods at that. Apparently whatever form Norris has taken is better at smelling things? He'll accept that for now. Furthermore, Ghost seems to have a plan, and he nods, a bit reluctantly. "That sounds good. If that doesn't turn up anything, we can try exploring the water around here next." He pauses. "Um...can you carry me?" He still doesn't really want Norris to do it, since he's not sure she's given up on eating him...
Ghost gave a determined nod at Ryota's acknowledgement, the look in her eyes seeming to agree with him there. So, all that meant was left was for the lot of them to head out! She turned around, got ready to head off, when... Ryota reminded Ghost about his little problem. 'Ooooh, right... He's literally a fish out of water...' She thought with a sigh, turning herself around so she could regard her teammates.
"Uhh... Hmm, you know what... give me a moment," She said with a thoughtful note to her voice, before she quickly started glancing around. She could probably make due without a vine, but she'd need a good bustle of leaves on a branch to make this work. Flying up, she quickly got to work trying to find the materials she needed.
Her plan - if she could pull it off - was to create some kind of sled to carry him around. Sure, it'd be a pretty crappy sled, but it'd be a lot better than nothing. Hopefully Mrs. Norris could carry their friend around after that. God knows she wasn't winning any Olympic Games in the near future with how weak her arms were. Thankfully, she thought as her form sparked just a little bit in anticipation of her plan, she had another way to break the branch than just brute force.
... Or it could create a forest fire, either or. Luckily they were in a clearing and could wait the blaze out underground in Mrs. Norris's den if that happened.
Given enough time working on the wood of a tree, you can precision cut what you need. On a still-living tree, it's harder for the electricity in your body to light anything aflame not dry. You aren't as powerful as a lightning bolt, afterall. You ate one, but you wouldn't hazard that you 'are' one.
Although Ghost wanted to get a move on sooner rather than later, she wasn't really willing to let Ryota travel ala their silver beetle companion. He'd already gone through a trek being flailed around like a fish out of water, she didn't want him to experience it again on the aron's back.
The whole process took a fair bit of time, but after using a few brute force thunder shocks to knock down a slender enough tree, she improvised a rather clever use of her lightning by channeling it through her arms, allowing her to segment out of the fallen trunk. Next, she went about creating a dip around the tip of the log's curve to create a nice set of treads, slowly cutting it in half (so she could actually push it onto its new treads) and a nice little bowl in the center for for Ryota to rest in. Burn a couple of holes in the front to loop some vines through, and the fish had a nice sled!
"Norris, you mind coming over here for a moment?" She asked, feeling quite accomplished with herself as she moved to tie the vines around her form in a harness. "Sorry, but I'm not exactly strong enough to carry our friend around. Do you think you can pull this without much of a problem?" She asked, hopefully. She seemed sturdily built enough...
"Think nothing of it, it was good practice all things considered," She said, grinning before she helped him up into his mount. He'd have to do a little bit of bouncing himself, but Ghost was at least able to give Ryota a bit of extra air on the jump-up.
With everyone set, the rotom gave everyone one last lookover before turning and started making her way off into the trees, going at a steady pace so her teammates could keep up.
You guys and your new vehicle take off further into the forest. About an hour and a half passes for you guys, and there isn't much happening until you hear... is that music? You can't quite make it out yet from here.
Ghost tilted her head, a soft humm escaping her lips. "Yeah, sounds like there's someone nearby. Hopefully they're more friendly than the last few natives we've met," She said, floating towards the sound at her casual pace towards the sound of that voice.
As you get closer you find the music gets stronger at this rock face jutted up from the ground. A cave seems to have been dug into the surface, and a single exclamation mark is placed above the entrance. Curious.
"That looks like a good sign!" exclaims Ryota. "Someone had to draw that symbol, right? Maybe it means a concert hall or something like that!" He won't comment on the quality of the music-everyone likes something different, after all.
As Ghost got closer the tune started to get clearer and - as it turned out - she was wrong! It wasn't a voice in the slightest. It was some kind of strange, almost digital sounding tone echoing out of a cave... A cave with a giant exclamation mark over its top. In the middle of an island filled with feral monsters who eat each other. Out in the middle of nowhere.
'... Maybe this is all an hallucination. I mean, LSD still works on me right? ... I swear, if Jacker hacked into Nakamura just to mess with my brain-jar I'm giving him a firm talking to after this is over,' she thought, but eventually just sighed and glanced back at her teammates. Her suspension of disbelief for the situation stayed pretty high at first, but after Bowser just vanished on them and this... non sequitur was stumbled across, it was crumbling a bit.
At the same time though, Ryota definitely seemed like a real person so she could muscle through it. "Yeah, let's check it out. If they have music, they're probably a good deal more civilized than those hunters from earlier," she finally said before boldly heading towards the cave ahead of the other two.
You reach the inside of the small cave and find... a shop? Wut. There are multiple strange items on the table, and below them is... well you'd assume it's a price but it's literally just chiseled dollar signs. On the first item is just 1 sign, then 2 on the next, and so on.
Before you get a chance to really take a look at them, a figure pounces from behind the counter.
"hOI!!!! i'm tEMMIE! thIs is tEM ShoP!!!!"
The figure is a pink blob with a face. An adorable yet comical kitty face. It's body seems to almost vibrate, like the creature is just EXCITED to exist in any shape or form.
The rotom just floated there, staring awkwardly at the little pink blob as it rippled and shook in front of her. The strange tint to its voice, the seemingly elastic nature it portrayed via its texture, and... well, just this whole situation in general! This had to be a dream, honestly it couldn't be anything else!
'Alright Betha, cool it... Just remember your reality checks,' she thought finally before pulling up her hands and pressing them against each other. No, they didn't seem to go through one another. That checked out. Next she glanced at the sled and memorized as much of it as she could, closed her eyes, and opened them to reinspect the sled. Yup, that checked out. Finally she walked over to the cave wall and smacked her head lightly against it. She winced. Oh yes, that definitely stung...
"Greetings! We were wondering what you had for sale, and if you'd be willing to make accept trades seeing as we're rather short on money at the moment." She said in a cordial voice after floating back to the pink blob, grinning with a scratch mark on the top of her head as if nothing had happened. All the while she was thinking '@#$% this place,' with a pleasant grin on her face.
'Temmie' seems like she's about to answer when she sees Ryota, and seems to jiggle with excitement.
"oHHH! you iS soooOOO CuTE! tEM bE you!"
There's a bit of light as the pink blob takes the form of Ryota! Although... very different. Replacing the face (including the incredibly wide jaw somehow, wtf) is the same kitty face you saw before.
"tEM iS nOw tEM sHeRk! yAAAAAy! (Dies of cute)"
Temmie flops around a bit in her new form before finally answering the question in her waaaaay too excited tone. First, and mostly, she has what she is calling 'Tem Flakes' which look like overly large breakfast ceral flakes. She claims they heal a bit. Interesting. (Tem Flakes are fluffed Candy Bars )
Other than that there's a strange powder in a bag, and even looking at it makes your eyes squint to look at it from the powder in the air around it. (Bright Powder!)
"uMMMM iF you doN'T hAve $$$ fOR tEM fLAKE... can you JUst hANG wIF tEM? tEM misS OTHer tEM aFTER tEM fell iN hol."
Temmie looks a bit sad.
"aND bAG thiNG you cAN haZ iF you HELp tEM oN a AdVenTUR!"

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Anyone else here a Hunter x Hunter fan?

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.
Dec 2, 2019 19:05:30 GMT
but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

i wanted to join a living server on roll20 to learn the system but they ignored my application for 2 weeks then blocked me

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
