While this is a little uncomfortable for him, Ryota is relieved he doesn't have to flop along the ground. "What's a Piranha plant?" he asks. "I know piranhas are a kind of fish, but I've never heard of a plant like those before! Oof!" He them gets smacked in the face by a low-hanging plant, and is stunned for a moment. When he finally shakes himself back into consciousness, he's looking down a hole that Norris apparently jumped down.
"How did you jump down there like that?" he calls. "Is it very soft down there?"

Norris ponders questions. How. Is. Dunno much why fish want know things.
"Very carefully. OK soft. Dirt not woodens. Good snacks. Stuck though."
Norris continues to pace the hole anxiously, digging to calm her nerves. She takes an interest in a convenient toilet in the center . She digs and digs and digs and digs faster than she's dug before until the loose earth is well excavated, now a hole many times taller than she - but as she squats and begins to take a nice, leisurely poo, she leaps several centimeters back in shock at what she has unearthed.
"EEK!"

Inside the hole you dug is a heavily blackened piece of metal. If you'd describe the smell, it'd be a snack, but crisped well past unedible. You still consider taking a nibble when it flashes once, as if reacting to the open air.
You, and the others, smell ionization in the air. And again, like clockwork since you've arrived, you hear the crack of thunder as lightning comes across the sky. Except, one's going off course. It stops right above you, and heads STRAIGHT DOWN.

Yeah, Ghost was thinking something a bit similar to Bowser. Whatever created this hole would've definitely been unpleasant to experience at the time it happened. But what could've done something like this? It couldn't be volcanic activity seeing as there wasn't really any build up of volcanic rock that would denote something like that. Actually, the ground surrounding the hole was rather pristine for that matter... Which meant either one of two things. Either someone used an orbital mega-laser to carve this hole out for some reason or someone's been trying to do some digging... with a flamethrower. A rumble caused her eyes to widen a little bit as she slowly started to come up with an idea. It was strange, and kind of defied logic as she knew it, but maybe her orbital laser idea wasn't far from the truth? A sudden smell of ozone caused her to stiffen for a moment. Maybe she was right, and Norris... was at the center of the pit. Acting on instinct, she quickly pushed herself to rush to the edge of the pit and attempt to leap as far as she could over the edge, hoping she was quick enough! At the same time though, she was violently cursing under her breath. She felt as if this was gonna hurt... bgsLfT4S3d6 acrobatics 3d6

The group sees Ghost make the leap across the pit, and hits the center just as the lightning crashes. Ghost is blasted downward by the lightning! But other than the force of the impact, Ghost doesn't seem to feel anything. She lands to a probably still panicking Mrs Norris.
Ghost - Hitting the ground propelled by a blast of lighting hurt. However... That blast didn't hurt itself. You feel... full?
What.

Ah pain, Ghost's long estranged friend and mortal enemy. So they finally met again at last. When was the last time they had met, she wondered? The time since before her life as a ghost agent and when her brain was cryogenically frozen were muddled at best, and a rorschach test at worst, but her shattered memories allowed her to quickly shrug the feeling off and pushing herself up. As she did so she noticed her form seemed to bounce back up into its levitating state with a surprising bounce in her step and a contentedness filling up her body that was a bit harder to place.Honestly she felt as though she was positively brimming with energy! And thinking about it, when the lightning hit her she felt a positively good feeling. Would she hazard a guess to call it tasty?
She quickly put it aside as she noticed Mrs. Norris looking positively shaken though. Right, contemplate what the heck just happened later and tend to the matter at hand first. "Are you alright!? You're not hurt or anything, are you," She asked fretfully. She also quickly called back up towards the others. "I'm a little scuffed up, but I'm alright!"

Norris scuttles away from the burnt kibble and looks at the ghost wide-eyed, full of awe. In her corner she shakes in fear and nervously nibbles a half-eaten shiny.
"I'm alright. You alright? You all bright."
Norris lets these new ideas about grammar and lightning settle into her rocky thinker.
"How I'm get out? No float."
Norris scratches her side with her mouth and ponders.

"A Piranha Plant is what it sounds like. A big plant with sharp teeth that chomps on chumps who get close enough. Where are you from that they don't have those?" Bowser's answer is a bit on the terse side during that jog.
Thereafter, he kinda loses track of what the gals are doing. One's eating without them, then digging for some reason, and... and then Ghost is soaring out toward the open hole? "Wh--?" he starts to ask, before lightning comes outta nowhere and strikes her exact spot in the air. It's unbelievable, seeing someone get struck by lightning right in front of his eyes, then gets sent straight down into the pit by the force.
"Sparky!!" Bowser gets down on his hands and knees, his claws gripping the side of the pit, as he peers down in there.
Hearing and seeing how unharmed she is by such a thing is as surprising as the strike itself.
"What the heck?? How-- What do you mean you're a little scuffed up?? The freakin' sky just shot an electro-laser at you!"
The turtle cranes his neck up, noticing the hole in the forest canopy for the first time. He looks back down again. "What? Why would lightning strike here? Lightning's s'posed to strike high places, innit? There's literally trees everywhere but here."

"...Earth?" asks Ryota, still looking confused. "I mean, we have carnivorous plants, but they're not super-violent or anything like that! Most of them are really tiny!"
Before he can get any more into what little he knows of botany, Ghost gets hit by a fucking lightning bolt.
"Ah!" His fins instinctively go up, but fail to actually cover his eyes. "Are...are you...what?" He pauses. "Um...she did shoot lightning at that bird, right? Maybe that has something to do with why she isn't hurt and why the lightning hit her first?"

"... Honestly I have no idea, but I think--" she started, holding up her zigzagging arms for him to see, " --the fact I seem to be made up of the same stuff had something to do with it. Honestly, I feel pretty great! I think that shock charged me up or something!" Hoping that would calm down the big turtle, she quickly turned her attention back to Mrs Norris who seemed to be fretting a little bit. Honestly she was a little worried too. I mean, it wasn't like she could carry her out, and (after trying to go upward herself) she found herself stalling at a fair ways up so she wasn't floating out either... Giving a light scowl she quickly floats back down to the ground and gives the area a really good once over, even going so far as to do a little digging if she noticed something odd or out of the ordinary. Maybe she could find an answer to Bowser's problem down here... Perception CdD0heEK2d6
" I'm not sure Norris, but we'll find a way out of here, somehow..." ... Actually, while she was at it she also gave a little glance at whatever it was Norris was eating. At a look she could tell it was... metal? Well, she apparently ate lightning so it wasn't that weird... Wait, why was there metal down here anyway? 2d6

Ghost - Looking around you see what Mrs Norris came across. A bunch of fist sized ore pieces (Although quite a few are missing now), burnt dirt, and what looks like a piece of very burnt strange metal, dug up by what you'd presume was Mrs. Norris.
Right in the center of the hole.

Dirt not steep like well. Hmm. Not packed so loose. Could dig.

Given some time, with your strong metal body, you could indeed dig an upward tunnel.
Alternatively, digging little hand holds might work, if you are feeling a bit impatient. There's the chance of falling back down.

"Hm. So Zippy can absorb lightning..." Bowser says, letting this soak in. "I guess that's not something you could do before, huh? Good job, Zippy, we'll make good use of you yet! Now, if there's any treasure buried in that hole, bring 'er up, and come back out!" he commands, as if suddenly running this operation.
He looks over to Ryota, doubting they can do anything to help them up from this side. "Why do ya think lightning came down here instead of hitting the trees, anyway?"

With her eyes lighting up at the sight of that burnt object Ghost quickly floated over towards it, a thoughtful hum on her voice as she gave the piece of burnt metal a once over. As she gave it a real good look, she quickly called back up to Bowser. "Nope! I mean, I could short circuit machines by flying through them, but lightning... Nah, this was a first Big Man."
Speaking of capabilities, Ghost wondered what other surprises this body had in store. Maybe she could call up the knowledge like when she gave that thunder shock? She'd have to work on calling those up after she got out of this situation. She really didn't feel like getting caught in another bind without all of her cards known if the day thus far was any indication.

"Well, there is a gap in the trees up there," notes Ryota. "So I guess if it came straight down from up there it would hit her first?" He still sounds a little confused. "I know how to avoid storms at sea, but not how to predict exactly where lightning will strike."

As Mrs. Norris begins digging a tunnel upward, (With treats falling to the floor as she works, she might want to consider gathering them up for later) Ghost looks to the piece of metal. The outside is burnt to a cinder although a few shimmers of purple shine through.
A thought pops into your head, however. Why did the lightning only come down after Mrs Norris jumped in? The whole time you guys were staring at the hole and even while she was down there initially nomming away happily there were quite a few flashes indicating the storm at work. (About every two minutes, if anyone is counting)
What happened that brought the lightning down?

"I think I found something! Give me a moment though, I think figuring out if it's safe to bring back up or not should take priority," She called up to Bowser as the burnt outer edge of the purple chunk was held in her plasma-like hands.
Strange metal plus the fact it's charred to a crisp. The old saying was that lightning never struck twice in the same place, but considering that last bolt didn't even hit the ground and this thing was still black as a forgotten drumstick at a narcoleptic's barbecue there wasn't any doubt in her mind whatever this was, the lightning was attracted to it.
"Hey Norris," Ghost called back to the busy feline, holding the stone close to her chest. "Did you notice this thing when you jumped down here?" She asked, needing a bit of information. She had a bit of a theory, but she could wait to test it out. Information was needed first.

*Norris turn to see what it, opening her big eyes wide and pursing her shiny mouth*
"Yupyup. Dug it. You can eat if you want. Sorta burnt."
*Norris redirects her attention to her tunneling for a time. Upon cracking through the surface, she looks back on her handiwork. She seems... concerned. Nevertheless, she rolls around in the dust for a time, munching on a snack. She curls up to take a nap in a small side-tunnel she created for just this purpose. She doesn't settle long, however! She bustles here and there, shuffling purposefully. She creates another, more lengthy and convoluted tunnel with a pit at the end which she is seen coming in and out of taking many rocks with her; rusty red and shiny silver. Once the scene is sufficiently cleaned up, she does a quick circle of the perimeter with a pleased expression on her face. Norris then returns to her little nest and is quickly sleeping like a rock.*

Ghost hummed for a moment, somewhat frustrated by how readily Mrs. Norris was able to just lounge around when they still had absolutely no idea how where they were or why they were here, but she supposed in the end that was her prerogative given what she was... or rather, what she used to be. For now though, her mind was absolutely keen on testing out a theory before she focused on getting out of there.
The theory was simple really. Mrs. Norris was a metallic and apparently at around the time she dug this thing up a lightning bolt just suddenly seemed to crash down from the sky. While she would've liked her silvery friends help testing this out, she had more then enough metal around her to test it out on. So, with that in mind she quickly scooped up another little chunk of metal in her other hand and gently rubbed it against the exposed purple edges to see if that got a reaction. After a moment, the rubs turned into scrapes. If there was a reaction from it... well, it would definitely be a touch unwieldy but maybe she could use it as a makeshift weapon.
-----add-on-----
When that didn't seem to work though, Ghost found herself somewhat at a loss. If that wasn't what activated it, what could? ... Then again, all this fantastical stuff was probably making her overthink this. After all, lightning was nothing more than positive charges being drawn towards the highest level of negative charges. If this did work on logic, that means whatever this thing was had a massive amount of negative charge to it.
...
It was quickly set back into that hole and the loose dirt put back over it
With that out of the way though, it pretty much gave her plenty of time to focus on that pet project of hers. I mean, it wasn't like she'd be able to help Mrs. Norris or anything with her making such a tight hole. "Mmph, sorry Big Man, I'm pretty stumped here... Give me a bit, I'll see if I can think of something before Quicksilver over there digs us out." She called up as she floated over to the edge of the hole and sat back in frustration. As she sat back, seemingly relaxing, her mind instead turned inward as she tried her best to come to an understanding of herself. It was a different feeling, but in many ways she found herself feeling quite cozy with this way of coming to understand herself. Granted she wasn't exactly reading the programming hardwired into her form anymore, instead seemingly sifting through the haze within her mind, grabbing hold of feelings and trying to make sense out of them. Maybe they were instincts, or something?
The first few revelations happened early on into her soul searching, the most obvious just jumping out to her. She had, in fact, absorbed that lightning bolt early. As a matter of fact, it seemed as though she needed the voltage like your average human needed food in their belly. She hoped her batteries could last a few days before she went kaput, since having to come back here every day would be an absolute pain. Her ability to control the voltage power was equally as straight forward. It was several minutes later that she began to unearth some new stuff. There was something else there, intermingling with the glowing warmth of her voltage. It was a contrasting chill, one that seemed sluggish and viscous like molasses, and yet... dispersed like smoke when she tried to examine it further? Quite the paradox.
It took a bit longer, but eventually she managed to figure out how to draw the power out and around her. It was all a matter of controlling her emotions in the end! Where her electric powers seemed to respond to her more battle-edged emotions, this... whatever it was power seemed to respond best to a laid back attitude.
As Ghost opened her eyes though upon pegging the power down though she started to notice something. Everything seemed to be cast into grey-scale of some kind. What the heck? Was there a flash fog or something? Was there... a reason she couldn't see her arms? Or the rest of her body for that matter? With a squeak the rotom suddenly rocketed up a good five feet into the air, her form suddenly snapping back into view as she lost hold of that power. 'Wait, w-what!? I... was I just invisible!?' She cried out in her mind, a feeling of mounting disbelief and excitement welling up within her. After thinking about it, she realized that yes, the same instinct that told her about the other facets of her new form confirmed the power within her. This was hers... this power belonged to her. And... as she thought about it a few other ideas came to her mind. They were out there, but... Giving a quick glance upward to confirm Bowser hadn't noticed her she quickly gathered the power around herself, shrouding herself from sight before she flew at the wall... ... ... and immediately rocketed back up. Not because of any desire to just get out of that hole, but because flying through stuff stung like the dickens. 'N-note to self,' she thought with a shiver, managing to keep her invisibility up before she made it back to the surface, 'Don't do that again unless you really, really have to.' She thought with a shudder. However, that solved one problem at least... she was back to the surface. Her eyes quickly glanced around to locate the big turtle. She then just floated up behind him, turned visible, and glanced over his shoulder.
"Those guys sure are taking their sweet time, aren't they?"
