As the trainers go back to the sitting area, the pokemon play with each other in something that looks a bit like tag. Willow seems to watch over them like a caring mother, but Cheshire keeps putting up illusions of the others, making Maria quite confused. It’s adorable to watch.
Thinking back on Zorua, you remember a few things about it. They certainly aren't common. They're a very unique Pokemon, in that they can make an illusion of not just another Pokemon, but anything. It could cloak itself in an illusion, or could create one somewhere else.
Jay smiles at your comment. “See? He likes it!”
“Aw, shut up man. You know you just like being a prick.” Quinn says as he punches his brother on the shoulder.
“Those things? They’re real easy. Have you really never used one? Need some help, country boy?” Jay teases.
“I didn’t know how to use it either! Quinn had to help me!” Dakota adds.
After scanning Maria, the entry pops up on the Pokedex and it also gets read by a pleasing female voice. “Horsea: The Dragon Pokemon. Horsea eats small insects and moss off of rocks. If the ocean current turns fast, this Pokémon anchors itself by wrapping its tail around rocks or coral to prevent being washed away. Would you like to know more on this Pokemon?”
On the page, you can see there is a lot of information on the Pokemon, along with pictures, breeding information, known locations, and much more.
“Woah! How did you do that!? I didn’t get that far with Quinn!” Dakota asks excitedly.
Jay and Quinn don’t seem impressed, though, but it makes Xander look up from his thoughts.

“Well, like, you see, Dakota,” Gregory explained as he closed his Pokedex, trying his best to sound intelligent, “you grab the Pokedex like this, and then you pull like this and then…” Gregory opens the Pokedex once more. “Pop! Opens up just like that. Pretty smart for a country boy, eh Jay?”
Gregory started to look through the entry on Horsea. He knew a bit of stuff on the screen, if only for his background as a fisherman, but a lot of the information was lost on him. "Quite a fancy little thing, ain't it? It's got habitat info and breeding stuff and some other stuff I don't really know about..."

“Ah.” Dakota nods, and you think if he had a pad of paper, he’d be taking notes.
“Not bad, Greg.” Jay smirks. “Hey Quinn, how long do you think it’ll take for him to break it?”
“Hmm...I’ll say a week.”
“A week!? That long? I’d say tomorrow.”
“Dakota, you want in on this?” Quinn nods in Dakota’s direction.
“Umm...I don’t have much money…” Dakota says honestly. He doesn’t sound ashamed of it, just like an innocent child who doesn’t know the implications of what he’s saying.
The twins laugh.
“It’s nice, yeah, but my sis-” Quinn cuts him off.
“Sibling.”
“Yeah, yeah. My sibling made a better one when they were here. Almost got expelled for it! I saw it, and it’s got so much more cool stuff. Wonder what they did with it…”
“Knowing Avery? Probably hid it.”

“Hey, I’m not that bad with technology. I went a full month with my first phone before it got washed into the lake.” Gregory said in response to the twins betting, acting like keeping a phone for only a month was something to be proud of. “Yeah, but you sis-, ehh, sibling sounds really cool. If they could mess around with something like this, they must of been really skilled with tech and what not.”

“One month?” Jay asks, surprised.
“That’s uh...wow.” Quinn seems quite surprised as well.
“I’d like to suggest that you not bring electronics near bodies of water from now on.” Xander says, speaking up for once. It seems he had been paying attention.
“Eh. They were okay, I guess. Got hired by Letourneau or something, but they’ve probably got them working an assembly line somewhere. Clearly not good enough to make these things any better.” Jay says coldly. He seems to shift uncomfortably a bit. Quinn shoots him a glance.

Gregory chuckled softly at the twin’s surprise, before responding to Xander’s suggestion. “No-can-do, Xander dude. Us Petram’s live and die by the water, so avoiding it to spare some fancy pantcy tech stuff is totally not worth it. Although, given how cold it is up here, I doubt there'll be much water to break stuff in, so maybe I'll keep this thing for a few more months.” Gregory not-so lightly banged the Pokedex on the side of the couch, as to draw attention to it.

Xander raises his eyebrows. “There’s a pool in town, and a popular fishing-hole somewhere near here. You’ll find a way to drop it in and break it. And uh...Do you know how much those things are worth? You can’t get another one, either, unless you want to pay.”
You knock the Pokedex on the table, denting it, and Xander winces.
“He can’t be helped.” Jay concludes, looking like a sad puppy.

It dawned on Gregory, seeing the dent he made in his Pokedex and the worried look on Xander’s face, that it might be a good idea to try and keep the his Pokedex in good shape. “Umm, yeah, might be a good idea to not do that, I guess. Didn’t realize these things were so delicate and expensive and stuff.” He said, putting away the Pokedex with a bit of a blush.
Gregory scratched the back of his head as he laid back into the couch, starting to stare off into the ceiling. It had been a busy day and Gregory was kind of feeling tired, so he opted to just lay back and relax as he always did, not really paying attention to the others in the room. It’s what he was always best at, after all. He did take the occasion to look back to his Pokemon, just to make sure Maria was doing fine and well, but other than that he was mostly just staring off into the void.

“Th-th-there you g-g-go, Alissa!” Gregory said with a shiver has he patted Alissa on the head at the sight of her doing a move. Greg was honestly a little surprised he managed to pull that off, especially considering the fact that he had yet to make his own Pokemon use a move.
Gregory stared into the dark room with a bit of mild interest. This wasn’t the worst day one activity to do, but Greg wasn’t entirely solid on his ability to instruct a Pokemon or Maria’s ability to lead someone through a maze. Still, looked fun, and things would probably turn out things.
“Sure, I’ll go in the maze first.” He said in response to Eli’s question. “That way. if there's any nasty, scary monsters in the darkness, I’ll take the brunt of them and you’ll all be prepared to deal with them, heh-heh.” Gregory walked up to the teacher to get the blindfold, saying "You, umm, didn't put any nasty, scary monsters in that room, right teach?" to him with a bit of a worried look.

“Of course not! I wouldn’t be that mean.” Ren explains. He waits until everyone files into the rec room, then continues. “You’ll be going in the maze with your starter, so unless I’m mistaken, that should be this little Horsea here!” Maria trills with happiness, flapping her fins excitedly. He then goes into the lit office and comes back out with a blindfold and a pair of pink headphones. As you step into the dark maze, Ren puts the blindfold over your eyes and the headphones over your ears. The door closes behind you and you’re enveloped in a dark, inky blackness. After a few moments, you feel something wet hit the front of your legs. There are no required rolls this turn, but you can roll any skill you can apply to the situation as you wish. If you move, you can move forwards, backwards, to the left, and to the right. Please specify which direction you’re moving and how many squares if you choose to move.

Gregory stood in the empty, dark room and just stood there for a moment. He was still a little worried that Maria would just bounce off and he’d have to crawl his way to the whatever he was looking for. But a moment later he felt what he assumed to be Maria bumb into his legs. “Maria, is that you?” Gregory said in a hushed whisper. “Like, just, keep bumping into me on the side you need to get me to move, and I’ll move that way, ok?” With that the boy would start walking forwards at a slow pass, his arms stressed out to brace himself against any obstacles, until he hit a wall of sorts or felt his partner brush up against him again. Greg moves forwards 6 spaces. Rolling Untrained Command to make the Pokemon in the room guide Greg by bumbling into him: uSjkR3oq2d6 (+ 2 cause I forgot about EC) 2d6

You stumble forward, stopping as your hands hit something hard and wooden. You feel the back of your legs get splashed again by something wet. There are no required rolls this turn, but you can roll any skill you can apply to the situation as you wish. If you move, you can move forwards, backwards, to the left, and to the right. Please specify which direction you’re moving and how many squares if you choose to move.

You step backward, and you don’t feel anything. At least, not at first. A moment after you step back, you feel something squishy hit the right of the back side of your right leg. It isn’t required, but you can roll intuition to determine the meaning of what Maria is trying to tell you. If you move, you can move forwards, backwards, to the left, and to the right. Please specify which direction you’re moving and how many squares if you choose to move.

Gregory stops for a moment, trying to figure out what exactly Maria means was trying to communicate to him. He has an idea, but he figured it’d be a good idea to think about it for a moment. Rolling Novice Intuition to figure out what Maria is trying to tell Greg (+2 from Elemental Connection): v4voRQXU3d6+2 3d6+2

After a moment of thought, Greg gets a good idea of what Maria is trying to tell him. He thinks she wants him to go to the right, but she can’t get in front of him to properly tell him to go that way. You can only move right now. If you move, you can move forwards, backwards, to the left, and to the right. Please specify which direction you’re moving and how many squares if you choose to move.

“Ok, I got ya, Maria.” Gregory said moved to the right in the direction he was splashed from. Moving one tile to the right.

You step back, but you step on something squishy. It doesn’t feel hard like the floor. Instead of the soft, gentle, pushes and nudges you’ve been getting from what you can assume is Maria’s snout and the soft streams of water, a powerful burst of water hits the back of your legs. It’s quite forceful, and it stings a bit. There are no required rolls this turn, but you can roll any skill you can apply to the situation as you wish. If you move, you can move forwards, backwards, to the left, and to the right. Please specify which direction you’re moving and how many squares if you choose to move.
