Kat eyed the room Cecil was starting into, but doubled back and stared at the hallway leading into the utility area. "Roz," she mumbles, releasing the Zorua from his ball. Rosco looks up at her curiously for a moment before shifting into a second-Kat, but the original shakes her head and nods towards Amber instead. "Mark goldilocks, yeah? I know yer a smart cookie, and most of us ain't fitting through that hole. If she goes, you go with her. Hell, actually..."With a sigh, Kat approaches the blonde in question. "Amber. I don't know how much you're itchin' to shimmy through that there gap, but I'd appreciate it if you let Roz go first. He's got natural stealth and can give us a clue if whatever over there's dangerous to human-lookin' things. Yeah? Plus..." she wrinkles her nose. "Still somethin' funny in the air. If Rosco c'n get a whiff of it, maybe we'll get find the source'f it before it gets the jump on us."With that, Rosco tilts his--Amber's--head slightly, and sniffs the air curiously, as if trying to figure out what his mistress is referring to. Waiting for a response, Kat ambles over to the pile of wreckage, trying her best to widen the gap. 7WmnbJpB3d6 Perception for Rosco, Tracking if possible 4d6+2 Athletics for Kat, trying to widen the gap. 3d6·4d6+2

Christine inwardly shudders a little bit at the Zorua looking like Amber. It's a worrying prospect, Pokémon that can look exactly like humans. What if there was one out there that could actually properly replace a human, and no one would ever know? It's not a thought that she wants to dwell on, though. Down that road just lies paralyzing paranoia.
"A woman? Towards medical?" Christine asks. "I wonder... could it be one of those altered humans that were in those logs? If it is, remember, I... want to try talking to it, if it isn't hostile. The logs mentioned they were able to talk, so hopefully, at the very least, we might be able to find out what happened here. And maybe what sort of dangers we should watch out for."

Amber pauses at the sight of the gap, and is indeed considering it, viewing it similarly to the maintenance tunnels back home, when Kat interrupts her thoughts. She tilts her head in the woman's direction and freezes at the sight of herself nearby. There is a moment of silence as she considers the Zorua, taking a few steps around it to examine it's copy. After a moment, with a vaguely green expression, she nods.
"If you think he can help, I don't mind waiting," She replies, glancing at the melted doors instead.

Kat's attempts to widen the gap at the top are met with little success. The debris is both too large and has sat for far too long, dust and condensation forming a crude mortar that binds most of the pile together now. However her scrabbling does manage to dislodge a sizable chunk lower on the pile... uncovering a mummified arm, clutching a battered holotape. There are remnants of a labcoat, shreds of white synthetic material in a sleeve, clinging to the dessicated flesh. However even with the ages past, the color is... wrong. There are striations of lighter and darker pigmentation along the arm, the fingers of the hand are far too long, and seem to all have extra joints where it closes around the holotape. Roz lets out a yap, coming to a point at the ancient piece of flesh as the source of the strange scent that Kat had tasked him with finding.
Amber examines the doors closely, and finds bits and pieces of what appear to have been a biometic lock, with the controls smashed. The melted and drooping edges are cool to the touch, and the stress fractures along the metal indicate that whatever did this likely used high heat. However overlaying this evidence is also etching on the metal surfaces; very light and only in a few places, indicative of some kind of caustic chemical having dripped upon the surface at one point or another. However whatever substance it was seems to have been unable to truly melt down the tough alloys that compose the door. She also finds a serious of small indentations on the interior of the door. It looks almost like tiny fists had tried to batter their way out before whatever it was had burned its way through, given that one of the impact sites is half-obscured by streams of cooled metal. Past the door, there appears to be a short hallway with a couple of rooms branching off, their doors closed. They're labeled "Medical Bay" 1 through 4 according to the hangings signs that are just barely visible in the emergency lighting. Further in however is too indistinct to see, but given the very faint breathes of air, it seems to be unblocked.
Cecil slowly steps into the side room, gingerly clambering over the half-erect barricade. With the Skrubbing shedding light, he's able to make out the interior. It's heavily festooned with webbing, wrapping around much of the remaining furniture, and even liberally coating the walls. There are shapes in the webbing as well, most stuck to the walls, but one or two hanging from the ceiling. Their size varies from smaller than a child to adult human, with many of them appearing to be incredibly old. Some however are much newer. Cast in the glow of the Skrubbing, Cecil is able to also make out a large hole that appears to have been torn into the ventilation system, the edges of the metal coated in webbing to blunt any sharp edges. ʺ˙ːʋ˚ˑʋ˟˓ːʋ˗ˌ˝˒ː˝ʋˎ˚ˎ˚˚˙˞ʋˌ˛˛ːˌ˝˞ʋ˟˚ʋˍːʋ˝ˌ˟˓ː˝ʋˑ˝ː˞˓ʗʋˌ˙ˏʋˤ˚ˠʋ˟˓˔˙˖ʋˤ˚ˠʋ˞ˌˢʋ˔˟ʋ˒˔ˡːʋˌʋ˟˔˙ˤʋˢ˝˔˒˒˗ːʙʙʙʧˍ˝ʩʧˍ˝ʩʬ˙ˏʋ˚ˠ˟ʋ˚ˑʋ˟˓ːʋˎ˚˝˙ː˝ʋ˚ˑʋˤ˚ˠ˝ʋːˤːʗʋˤ˚ˠʋ˞ːːʋˌʋ˝ːˏʋːˤːʘ˞˓˔˙ːʋˍː˔˙˒ʋ˝ːˑ˗ːˎ˟ːˏʋˍˌˎ˖ʋˑ˝˚˘ʋ˔˙˞˔ˏːʋ˟˓ːʋ˝ˠ˛˟ˠ˝ːˏʋˡː˙˟ʙʑ˙ˍ˞˛ʦʋ˂˓ˌ˟ːˡː˝ʋ˔˟ʋ˔˞ʋ˔˞ʋ˞˘ˌ˗˗ʋ˟˓˚ˠ˒˓ʗʋːˌ˞˔˗ˤʋ˞˘ˌ˗˗ː˝ʋ˟˓ˌ˙ʋʮːˎ˔˗ʗʋˌ˙ˏʋ˛˚˞˞˔ˍ˗ˤʋːˡː˙ʋʬ˘ˍː˝ʙʑ˙ˍ˞˛ʦʋʴ˟ʒ˞ʋ˓ˌ˝ˏʋ˟˚ʋ˘ˌ˖ːʋ˚ˠ˟ʋ˟˓ːʋ˞˓ˌ˛ːʋˍˠ˟ʋˤ˚ˠʋʕ˟˓˔˙˖ʕʋ˔˟ʋ˘ˌˤʋˍːʋ˓ˠ˘ˌ˙˚˔ˏʪʧˍ˝ʩè

Cecil starts briskly deeper into the room, jabbing a thumb at the vents. "Hilow, put that thing out with a sleep powder, I don't want a fight if I can avoid it." The Skrubbing shook itself and exhaled a sharp and heavily pollened breeze of fresh air up into the vents, washing over the creature. The greaser, having closed with one of the larger cocoons, draws Mr. Stabby and starts using the large combat knife to saw into the thick wet strands. "If you can hear me in there... just stay still, I'm going to get you free." He soothed. "I'm just going to take a look in the Medical bays," Christine says. "The doors look intact so... hopefully there's nothing dangerous in there. It's not far, in any case." Regardless, she recalls Clement, and sends out Bones. She'd much rather have the uninjured, unyielding 'Mon with her, than a small, battered - and, as she'd just learned, somewhat mischievous - bell.
She goes sequentially to each Medical door, until she finds one that will open. Taking a deep breath, and - really wishing the lights were on - she opens it with trepidation, and walks in, hoping nothing will jump out at her.

The dusting of powder manages to catch the observer by surprise, and the figure slumps within the open vent, a faint (oddly cute) sounding snore reaching Cecil's ears. Turning his attention to the cocoon, the stick strands cling to both his blade and his hands, but with a dint of perseverance, he's able to slice through. Quickly sheathing his knife as the final strands give way, he attempts to catch the cocoon's occupant... only to tread upon something hidden beneath the webbing, his balance thrown off as he finds himself under a warm, humanoid body wearing some much-patched clothing... and with shocking pink hair. It seems to be a human woman, probably in her early twenties. Her eyes are closed and her mouth is stained liberally with some kind of virulent green substance. Cecil you're getting a couple of definite handfuls from your botched attempt to catch her.

"CHRISTINE!" Cecil belts out with little concern for their locale or the sleeping figure in the vents. "I found a Joy and she's in a bad way!" The greaser gently eases the girl off of him and rolls her onto her back, moving to gather her up as the others start filtering in.

Once Christine finds a medical bay that is not locked (Medical Bay 3), she's able to push it open with a dint of hard work. The inside is pitch dark, emergency lighting apparently not having been a serious consideration. However there's something glimmering on the ground...
As she goes to reach for it though, she hears Cecil's voice calling her urgently.

Kat flinches back as she uncovers the arm, more out of reaction to possible danger--and contamination--than out of any fear of the dead. To be buried in such a way seemed positively awful. As she spat curses and shook out her nerves, she prayed that the person had been dead before being added to the pile. She winces as she pins the arm at the wrist with her sledgehammer, and tries to work the battered holotape free with her other hand. "Something went around spreadin' mutation like nobody's business. This poor bloke's got a few extra joints. Eurghh. Can't decide if I wanna know more or less about the shit that took place here. Roz, scamper up there, will ya? Let us know if there's anything skulking on the other side that might pose Amber here a threat. Anything... well, alive, I s'pose. If it's dangerous, come back immediately as quiet as you can. If safe, give us a bark from the top, yeah?" She turns back briefly to get a good idea of her comrades' locations, worrying with every heartbeat that their split focus could only bring bad things. Rosco has the Stealth capability, so he won't make any noise when shifting over the pile and through the gap. Christine takes a moment to register the call, but, upon hearing it, immediately motions to Bones and starts quickly heading towards Cecil. The glimmering could wait, while there was no guarantee that a patient could. Sometimes a minute could mean the difference between life and death, or moderate and irreparable injury.

Bunnie sees Christine walk away from the bay. She figured Cecil wouldn't call her if it wasn't important, but getting inside there and finding anything useful was important too. She enters into the room and begins to look it over in case there was anything she could bring back to the rest of the group.

As Cecil knocks something out in the vents, and turns his attention to the strange forms in what appears to be some form of nest, Amber approaches the vent slowly, with Topaz held tightly in her arms just in case. She makes sure her goggles are tightly in place and on, and then peers inside the vent nervously.

Roz quickly clambers up to the top of the pile in Amber's guise, peering intently though the gap, before turning and giving a short yap, indicating that he can't see anything alive, followed by a whine and pawing at his nose. ǁǗǪƢƖǝǟǬǛǤƖǯǥǫǨƖǪǨǗǟǤǟǤǝƖǭǟǪǞƖǞǟǣƢƖǯǥǫƖǨǛǙǥǝǤǟǰǛƖǪǞǗǪƖǗǩƖǗƖǩǟǝǤǗǢƖǪǞǗǪƖǞǛƖǙǗǤƖƠǩǣǛǢǢƠƖǩǥǣǛǪǞǟǤǝƖǘǗǚƖǪǞǨǥǫǝǞƖǪǞǛǨǛƖǛǬǛǤƖǟǜƖǞǛƖǙǗǤƝǪƖǩǛǛƖǟǪƤƲǘǨƴè Bunnie passes by Christine as the younger girl hustles towards Cecil's cry. Looking into the medical bay; Bunnie spots a small item glinting at the back of the room, nearly flush with the wall. It appears to be some kind of card key, similar to the one she'd found while poking about up above the first time they'd come here. She also sees that it's sitting directly below a gap in the ventilation system that's well-concealed thanks to the lack of working lights in the room. There's traces of some kind of virulently green fluid around her mouth. Her clothing is patched-together, but seems to be well cared for, and looks similar to what you've seen some people wearing in Purewater. Amber tightens the goggles before hoisting herself up into the vent... and finds herself face to face with a creature only slightly smaller than herself. The torso and head are humanoid... right up until she notices that this being has four eyes; two in each "socket" and has no discernible mouth. This is quickly followed by the realization of "That is a whooole lot of legs..." under the silken "dress" it seems to be wearing. It's rubbing at its eyes sleepily like a little child before finally taking notice of Amber. Blinking one set of eyes, then another (top then bottom), it tenses, slowly trying to crawl backwards deeper into the vent system.

Amber freezes at the sight of the unusual child, tensing as the logs of human experiments flash through her head. But something about the sleepy eyes and the fearful nature of the creature (girl?) stirs something in her that keeps her from going for a ball to remove a potential hostile. She nuzzles Topaz, trying not to make any too sudden actions or appear hostile herself.
"Hey, no, it's okay," She says softly, peering into the vent. "I won't hurt you. I just wanted to see. Are you okay?" She tries to keep her voice smooth, soothing, showing affection to the pokemon in her arms to present herself as less of a threat. Topaz, for the most part, peers in curiously, but has thankfully passed its age of sparking randomly.

"Oh, geez," Christine mutters, as she enters the room for the first time, noticing all the webs around. That's a lot of webbing. "Uh, hold on, Cecil," she says, as she sees him on the ground, struggling. He seems to be stuck to the girl, probably due to whatever had caused her to have the toxins in the first place. She releases Clement to try and get him to see if he can lift the girl telekinetically, but then something strikes her. "Okay, I just want to try something..." She pulls out a Pokéball and tries tapping the girl with it, to see what happens. There's a small glow from Clement, and she feels a bit of deja vu, but passes it off. Hopefully this'll answer one of her questions of whether they're more human, or actual Pokémon at this point... Capture attempt(?) with Pokéball: 8 Used Probability Control, so there is Psychic Residue around Christine now.

Cecil can't really tell what Christine is doing, being mostly covered by the pink haired woman, but it certainly doesn't feel like helping. DEFINITELY doesn't after Clement drops her bodily on top of him again, aggravating his already sore chest. With a grunt he takes a moment to catch his breath, and moves to sit up with her. "Would you stop fuckin' around and help her? She's sick, or poisoned or something..."

As the woman drops down onto Cecil, she lets out a gurgling grunt, as a fine spray of green fluid hits the teen in the face. Luckily most of it missed his mouth thanks to quick reflexes, but there was still enough splatter to have some land under his nose and on his lips.

Bunnie grabs the keycard and pockets it. No way it wont be helpful in a little bit. After giving the room a good look over she heads out the door and towards her friends, to see a situation she wasn't wholly prepared for, the shock of it causing her to freeze.

Amber's show of non-hostility seems to calm the strange little.. mon? It lets out a curious chur as it extends on of its hands towards Amber, moving a bit closer, and one of its legs coming down on the metal with a distinct "clack" sound. One that Cecil is able to hear from outside the vent, and reminding him very much of the sound he'd heard earlier, if slightly lighter than what he'd head before. The child/creature sees the Pikachu, and coos gently, eyes showing obvious curiosity. It moves forward a bit more, relaxing its stance enough that Amber can tell it's actually a bit smaller than even she is, but it was making itself look larger by extending its legs. Probably caught between fight or flight after being put to sleep so suddenly. ȥȹȲȿȼɄDZɅɀDZɊɀɆɃDZȿȺȸȹɅɇȺɄȺɀȿDZȸɀȸȸȽȶɄǽDZɊɀɆDZɄȶȶDZȲDZȽȲɃȸȶɃDZɄȹȲɁȶDZɅȹȲɅDZȹȲȵDZɃɀɆȿȵȶȵDZɅȹȶDZȴɀɃȿȶɃǽDZȳɆɅDZȲɁɁȶȲɃɄDZɅɀDZȹȲɇȶDZȳȲȴȼȶȵDZɀȷȷDZɀȿȴȶDZɅȹȶDZȽȺɅɅȽȶDZɀȿȶDZɄȶȶȾɄDZɅɀDZȿɀɅDZȳȶDZɄɀDZȷɃȺȸȹɅȶȿȶȵǿǷȿȳɄɁȌDZȓɆɅDZɊɀɆDZȲɃȶDZȵȶȷȺȿȺɅȶȽɊDZȳȶȺȿȸDZɀȳɄȶɃɇȶȵDZȳɊDZɄɀȾȶɅȹȺȿȸǿǿǿȍȳɃȏè Christine, the pokeball fails to energize at all.
