Amber shakes her head. "Then maybe whatever those people became, they're still..people like. I'm pretty sure those were voices..." She hesitates, glancing over at Cecil's strange new find.
"Is...is it hostile?" She asks, just loud enough for him to hear.

In the distance you all hear a strange fluttering sound, like someone shaking a sheaf of loose paper in one hand. It's not coming any closer, but there's definitely quite a bit of activity still down here. The strange smiling creatures gently waft out of the closet, revealing a large broken air duct as their means of entry. The closet itself appears to have a few supply containers that are still intact... and a large amount of spider webbing in the corners. As they do though, there's another heart-stopping shriek coming from deep below your feet, and the lights flicker... falter... and die. A moment later soft blue lights come on, not nearly as bright or as encompassing in their illumination, but better than being in the dark... The Vaults emergency lighting system. There's also a loud "thump" from the elevator shaft, of metal on metal. Amber, you have a sinking feeling that the emergency brake system just kicked in, locking the elevator in place until power is restored. The two strange mon don't seem particularly bothered by this, and after a moment a very soft bio-luminesence begins to shine from their guts, tinted green thanks to their skin and swirling slightly as the chemical compounds contained within do their work. Both mon started at Neutral, are currently "Friendly" Kat seems to sum up the situation with a single word. "Shit."

"Oh, no, no no no..." Christine repeats to herself, softly. I knew it was a bad idea to come down here. We might be trapped down here, and die in the dark... along with the chances of home. At least soft light come on a moment later. "Any... any idea how bad it is, Amber?" she asks, starting to calm down. Panicking wasn't going to do any good. It would just make things worse. While waiting for an answer from their tech-expert, she distracts herself with what Cecil had found. Thankfully, they don't seem hostile, but she keeps Clement by her side, just in case, the living bell seeming to sense the seriousness of the situation and not ringing. She peers at the creatures, trying to figure out what they are... besides glowing spheres. That could come in handy, though, if the lights decided to go out for good. Pokémon Edu: 15

Kat shuffles slightly from behind Cecil, eyeing the pokemon nervously. "They look like somethin' I heard of, but... ain't quite exact," she murmurs. Every instinct of her wants to make a racket right now-- clang the metal and roar like thunder to tell whatever beasties that lay further on that the group of humans were the biggest, baddest fellas in these tomb-like halls. But the others were curled in and nervous like little mice, seeming to want no attention drawn to them at all, so she reined in the desire to swing her weapon and instead just twirled it in her hands.
"Aight. Not the end of the fuckin' world again, so lets tough up and keep goin' til we can find the box that needs a little zap to restart, yeah?" She glances down at Spark, wondering if a shock from an electric-type could do it. Maybe that would be best left to Amber. "No use twiddlin our thumbs our here. Let's keep goin and be ready to put up a fight with somethin that actually wants to give us one." She eyes the floating pokemon strangely once more. "These. They look like a poison-type I know. 'Least they're all friendly, seems."

"Poison huh? Weird that they glow, and have leaves growing out of 'em and shit. I know a useful couple of guys when I see 'em though, and I didn't much like what I caught a glimpse of down the hall. Nothing I'd want to meet in a dark alley if I'm right anyway." Nothing that can just fuckin' disappear like that. Christine, from what you've been able to infer, these things are purely grass types, rather than the poison types that Kat seems to link them to. They seem to be agitated by something, and appear to have locked onto Cecil as... protection perhaps? Both strange mon respond eagerly to the offer of getting them out of here. Oddly eager in fact. They offer no resistance to the capture beams of the pokeballs. Cecil's VaultDex begins to click and whir then, as a picture of the mon comes up, along with a DNA strand, which splits, and forms a picture of a similar-looking pokemon, though this one seems to be a light purple and has a small skull and crossbones and seems to be spewing out gases of some kind. Genetic match in Vault-Co Database found. A menu showing all the pokemon that Cecil currently has pops up. There's an option to select for storage, as well as a secondary option to trade them to someone whose cascade threshold still hasn't been reached. All of you can hear the rustling sound getting louder now. Something... no, several somethings, are coming your way, and you have moments to prepare.

"Uh, what's that?" Christine asks, turning towards the new noises, making sure they weren't coming from any of the others in her group. Sadly, they were not. "Clement... get ready, just in case." The little bell was fairly good at non-lethally dealing with targets, she'd discovered. So, in uncertain times, that's probably the wiser option. Even if she might prefer to have Bones' bulk in front of her. But, as evidenced by the Pokémon that Cecil seemed to have easily caught, not everything here was going to be hostile.
Speaking of which, there was that small matter of the 'Cascade Failure' and storage consequences thereof. She glances back at Cecil, "You can transfer one of those over to me. If the lights go out permanently, I'd rather we don't have both those light sources stuck in your 'Dex."

Cecil goes about sending Christine the 'Timid' Skrubbing, and slips Paint away into the VaultDex's internal storage. "Heard something that sounded like a woman's heel in the hall, but the generator faltered and she was just gone. Those things ain't quiet at all, so it was deliberate movements on... whoever's part. Fender, get over near the door... I don't like the sound of that, just settle there."

"A woman's heel?" she asks, surprised, "Are you sure? Because, I'm sure there are probably lots of things that might end up sounding like that..." She gives it a little though, before coming to a conclusion, and taking a breath. "Though... it might be either a descendant of some survivor, or one of those Pokémon-people in that report. So, uh, if we stumble across something that looks even vaguely like a human, if it doesn't try to attack... I'd like to try talking to it. The report said that those experimented kept offering physicals and whatnot. Clearly that means they can, uh, still talk. Even if - and, given what we saw upstairs, it's a real possibility - they can only really think about medical stuff, they could probably point us to the medical center here. And if we end up being stuck down here for any length of time, with who-knows-what crawling around, I damn well want to know where that is."

Amber shivers nervously, and nods at Christine. "We can...try?" She offers hesitantly. "That one back in town--" She shoots a hesitant look at Kat, "didn't seem like it was able to really talk. I sort of assumed that those reports were just early reports and it might have turned into...well, something like Bones? Maybe?"
She rubs her arm. "But...yeah, let's try and find the generator. I think I could try and fix it, or we have a few of our own sources of electricity, so...maybe we can get enough power together anyway to power the elevator if all else fails."
She pauses, glances down at Sapphire, and releases Topaz into her arms, the small pokemon sparking with electricity even before it fully condenses from its energy state. "Might need you to help us get out of here," She murmurs quietly. She looks over at the door, though, nudging Sapphire in the direction of the sound.

Kat pointedly ignores the glance Amber sends in her direction, instead busying herself with figuring out a good place to ambush whatever might be on its way should 'friendly' not be an adequate descriptor. "That's hopin' the electric types won't just fry a generator even more, but you prolly know better than I do about those kinda things. If you think Spark'll be any help, you're free to put him to work. Let's just take care of whatever it is that's creepin' around out there first, yea? Personally I find it hard to believe that there's any people left alive and... and normal down here."She shuffles her grip on the weapon's long handle and stalks towards where Cecil had indicated the sound, seeing if there's any new noises or strange things wandering about in the dark. If it makes a difference, Kat will switch to Darkvision Goggles to look around.

Kat, as you glance down the hall, you see a cloud of fluttering wings, sharp teeth and bristling fur boiling in your direction. What boils out into the atrium of the Vault are a number of small winged pokemon, some of them apparently eyeless, led by a much larger pokemon. All of them are screeching and chirping, and seem to be focusing on the humans and their mon. They do not look friendly. In fact, even to the untrained eye, they look downright hungry. GM Note Anyone who has not placed their mon, please do so now and I'll add them to the initiative. Bunnie is going to be NPC'd and controlled by me until the completion of the fight, or David's return to the forum. Go ahead and place your mon and yourselves on the map please. Oh, god, what are those? Christine thinks, as she notices the... beasts. There's just an unnatural feeling about them, juxtaposed against the background of the Vault, especially eerie in the emergency lighting. The Vault is supposed to be a safe space. This is almost making her want to be outside, again. At least there, there aren't false promises of reassurance in every inch. Here, though... Right now, there are two options. Run into who-knows-what, in the darkness, while likely being chased... or fight. She knows which one sounds like the better choice. If only marginally, because those teeth don't look friendly at all. With the larger one looking like a leader of sorts, or at least stronger, it seems like that would make a good target to take out of the battle. She hastens Clement forwards, with an order to "Lock down that bigger one" before she throws the stronger device, that Amber had given her, at it. It seems like a prudent decision. At least it should be easier to hit without it flitting around. Christine delays until initiative 10, after Clement. Clement uses Telekinesis on Noibat, moving forwards if need be in order to be in range (4). It's an automatic hit. (Recall also that it gives the Slowed Condition, which is +5 to Capture checks.) Christine throws a Great Ball at Noibat, moving if need be to be in range (6), and is spending an AP. 13 vs AC 6 (no evasion applicable), 35 capture check.

Amber lets out a soft noise of distress at the initial emergence, but forces herself to think, looking around with wide eyes at the swarm. "Topaz!" She calls out, "Move fast!" In the meantime, she'll shift in front of the squishy medic, pulling a ball from her pocket and throwing it at the nearest likely target to remove it from the field.
Topaz will jump forward, diving between the trainers and the enemy, and attempt a bright thundershock.
Amber's swift is used to activate commander's voice and issue Agility Orders (Priority) to give Topaz +4 to his init and +1 to his overland. He should move at 24, if we're assuming training for the day, and overland 9 for movement.
Amber uses her shift to move close to Christine, blocking the medic. Her standard is used to throw a ball. The target should be a nearby enemy, whichever seems injured or is just closest if none are injured more than the rest. QTxSn07Z1d20 to hit 1d100 to Capture (assuming 1d100 system) 1d20 to Capture (assuming 1d20 system)
Topaz will, on a 24, shift between the enemy Woobat 2 and the trainers. He'll use Thundershock! 1d20 to hit, 17+ is paralysis, AC 2 to connect. 2d6+23 Special, Electric Damage on a connect. 2d6+8 Additional damage on a crit (lol as if)
If struck by an otherwise uninjured enemy using a melee attack, Topaz will trigger Static to inflict paralysis. He'll hold onto it if they're already injured.

The transfer finished with Christine they were set upon abruptly, dark shapes flitting about the poorly lit room. Topaz drawing the eyes with his light show gave Cecil the sort of outline of the winged creatures flitting about that he needed. With incredible precision he snapped his arm forward and loosed the switchblade past Amber. "Fender, don't let them flank. I need a Rock Tomb yesterday!" Cecil called over his shoulder in a tone that made the little ball of steel with it's bright blue eyes perk up as though driven or energized.

Kat lurches into action, focusing on the closest foe-- a puffy blue ball with some strangely-large nose, or whatever that might be. "Aight Spark, show me what ye got! Don't miss!"
The elekid glows momentarily before letting out a blast of little lights towards the woobat, which hit dead-on as if compelled to strike at it's heart. Kat readies a ball, planning on attempting capture should the woobat look weak.

Topaz springs into action, the little mouse's cheeks bursting with electricity that goes slamming into the little ball of fluff and fangs. It screeches in pain as small rents appear in its wings, its fur singed... and the sound cuts off suddenly as Cecil's knife catches it in the teeth, sending the little horror bouncing and sliding along the floor, out cold. The smaller bat that had been at the lead of the pack and furthest into the room, gives a screech of outrage as it pivots and zooms forward in an attempt to get back to the cluster of enemies near the door. Woobat 2 is KO'd. Zubat 1 is using Sprint. Bunnie quickly begins a gyrating dance that seems to actually distract the nearby bat that had lingered close to the doors... right before a shower of rock fragments torn from the ceiling buries the flying rodent under a small cairn of debris. BUnnie used Drop it Like It's Hot! AC 3: 6. Zubat 4 loses 1 Def and Sp. Def CS. Zubat 4 is buried ALIVE The largest bat, clearly unhappy with Cecil taking down one of its cohort, surges forward, it's relatively tiny wings gathering air beneath them, before sending it forward in a powerful concussive wave, slamming into Cecil's face. Noibat uses Gust AC2: 19 Special Flying Damage: 24 The small shaggy-furred mon that Kat and Spark are concentrating on beats its wings hurriedly, before its nose begins to glow a bright pink. Swooping down, it smashes the glowing appendage against Kat's face in a strange parody of an "eskimo kiss", a spark of psychic energy connecting the two, before the Woobat disconnects, leaving a large heart-shaped mark smack in the middle of Kat's forehead, and the girl's limbs trembling and unsteady! Woobat 2 uses Heart Stamp on Kat. AC 2: 19! Kat is Flinched! 29 Special Psychic Damage Kat is at -5 Init for the remainder of the combat and Vulnerable for one full round Another of the smallest bats whirls on a wingtip and begins making a break back towards the main group. Zubat 3 uses Sprint Amber, seeing no particularly injured targets, picks a mon at random to toss her pokeball at. It hits... and then shatters, the mon in question simply being too strong to be contained quite yet. The pokemon she'd targeted screeches in rage, before slamming at the mon between it and its tormentor. Its fangs score a hit against the little bell, the metallic skin parting under the sharp teeth before the bat flutters back a little, seeing to be sizing up its target. Zubat 2 uses Bite AC 2: 17 Physical Dark Damage: 26. Clement is Flinched, -5 to Init for the remainder of combat and Vulnerable for 1 full round Spark's attack against his beleaguered trainer showers the little beast in explosive star-shaped energy constructs, the bat wailing under the assault. But it still manages to maintain its lift, wings blurring to keep it aloft. Clement, ignoring the threat in front of it, focuses on the target his mistress had designated for him. A corona of pink energy building around the bell, the largest bat finds its movements slowed and fitful, just before Christine's pokeball slaps into its face. The orb drops to the ground, shaking and skittering across the floor, a seeming eternity passing before it finally settles with a quiet "ping". Level 15 Male Lax Noibat Ability: Infiltrator Bite, Gust, Leech Life, Tackle, Supersonic, Scratch No injuries or damage Doug, seeing his initial target buried, hops back towards Bunnie, taking a defensive stance between her and the remaining enemy mon. His eyes flash in a kaleidoscope of colors before a pulse of something slams forward at the nearest one of the remaining bats, battering it with the surprisingly acute power of his mind. The bat is a doughty foe however, and seems to have weathered the attack better than expected. Doug uses Confusion AC 2: 8. Special Psychic Damage: 22 Kat attempts to throw her pokeball, but the trembling of her limbs leaves her unable to coordinate properly, and it bounces off of the wall behind her target instead. Initiative Topaz - 24 Bunnie - 20 Zubat 1 - 20 Cecil - 17 Woobat 1 - 16 Zubat 3 - 15 Amber - 14 Zubat 2 - 14 Spark - 13 Christine - 13 Clement - 7 Doug - 7 Fender - 5 Kat - 3

Christine tenses up at the skittering ball. She isn't sure that it's going to hold... but eventually it stops. Letting out a breath she hadn't realized that she was holding, she looks at the bats. It looks like they might be going away, but, she wants to make sure. Pointing to the nearest of the bats, she says, "If they stick around, Clement, uh, try discouraging them."Christine uses Inspired training on Clement.
Clement uses Confusion on Zubat 2, if it's still in range when the turn comes around (range 6). If they attack Kat, though, he'll move so that he's in range, before attacking. 5 vs AC 2, for 31 Special Psychic damage.

Turning to face the remaining Zubat, something solid slams into Cecil's left eye, setting his vision to spots and stars even as he winces it shut. The other eye waters in sympathy, and the concussive wave whips his short hair about as it disperses, the teen drawing his second knife 'Mister Stabby'. The grip reminds him of the girl he liberated it from, a bit roughshod but solid and reliable. Another flash of light from Topaz. He'd do what he came here to do, and in the aftermath maybe Christine could sort him out.
