Rei realizes Maya is leaving the last one for her and readies her blade but the last target falls on it's own. She just sighs and recalls Alligapod and readies to move on.

The next area has some weird pig-like Pokemon. The Tome says they're Pignite, which is a fire-type.

Rei feels like there's a strange lack of rock-types in a place called ROCK TUNNEL but she readies for battle anyway. She lets Shinpuru out, ready to knock em down. Tiebreaker xNAMuB4O1d8 Pignite: 1d8
Rei uses Yoroi step and gains 2 stages in defense.

Rei is smacked, and smacked HARD, and is barely standing after the first one, and that provides the opportunity for the other one to take her down. Rei falls with a 'whump' to the floor. Predictibly, Shinpuru responds in a respectful and upright manner. By trying to kill the ones responsible. Lady Sorra comes over to administer a Revival Herb to Rei and offer the use of a medkit to fix up her injuries.

Rei shakes herself awake. At least both of them aren't chastising her (Each in their own way) like last time.
"Thank you Miss Shields."
Rei takes the healing as well as heals Shinpuru herself before dusting herself off and continuing on.

On the next level down, the third level, things seem colder and darker. Shouldn't it be warmer if you go deeper underground? Who knows? Rei is no geologist. Oh, well there's your problem. There's a running river down here. In a small eddy off to the side, there is a small group of flower-looking pokemon. The Tome doesn't know them, so they must be exceptionally rare.

With Shinpuru still at her side, she approaches closer for a better look. She looks back and raises an eyebrow at Maya.
"Flowers, down here?'

Maya shrugs. "Mushrooms I would expect, given the dampness, but flowers are unexpected. Could be some sort of deep-dwelling Pokemon that has gone undiscovered/unnoticed until now. We're pretty deep underground, so I wouldn't be surprised if we ran into some strange stuff occasionally. We should be careful regardless, of course, but if you want to, feel free to go, I dunno, approach one? Might be non-aggressive at the least."

"Yeah I guess we are getting deep then, aren't we? But yeah if they aren't attacking us, I'll at least check it out. Maybe just watch my back."
With that, Rei walks over carefully.

The little "flower petals" turn out to be more like little prehensile tendrils. They open up as you approach, apparently as curious about you as you are of them. They appear to be anchored to the stone in some way.

"Hmmmm."
With the tome not finding anything like this, it could be they were one of the few humans to ever encounter one. She decides to take out her notes and start drawing and taking little notes. She hasn't found anything 'strange' outside of Holly since she spoke with the Doctor and was only able to give him what she knew about spirits, so he'd probably be pretty happy she found something.
She dares to get a little closer and sits down in front of it. She waves at one.
"Hello there."

It "waves" back after a moment by wiggling its face-tendrils. Whatever these are, they seem pretty calm compared to most of the other things down here. Maybe because they're plant-like instead of, er, whatever the heck everything else is?
