"Maya! It's moving! That's not an apricorn ball at all. It's a pokemon of some sort. How peculiar."
Expecting the pokemon to ambush now that they've been found out, she lets Gryz back out and waits.

The little mushroom pokemon do not disappoint! Realizing they've been found out, they pop up to fight!

Realizing that they are mushrooms, Rei knows only poisons and statuses are coming. It's a bit pointless to go defensive, that'll just cause issues. She instead goes for a Dance of Blades while Gryz runs up and busts one open head-first! Rei uses Dance of Blades!

Maya challenges one of the mushrooms, and surprisingly enough, it cowers before her and Shelgon. #2 loses 3 CS in Defense as well as its next Shift Action. Maya lets it cower for a bit while she and Shelgon focus down #2.

Rei needs to sit down after that one. The mushrooms were literally trying to take her life force.
"Well that was an odd one."
She says that to nobody in particular before healing up and heading on.

The next encounter is something slightly less odd. Seems to be some bulky-looking Pokemon that are sparring with one another. Not unlike those Riolu from earlier. Like Riolu, these ones turn to face you and line up for a challenge.

As the big pokemon step up, Rei steps up alongside Maya's pokemon and lets her first steel type, Alligapod out. She then does a defensive dance and waits for the approach. Rei uses Yoroi Step and Power Pirouette to gain 2 defense stages and 1 attack stage.

Alligapod and Rei hardly feel the hits before the Escavalier strikes back! She drives a pole into one of their temples! -New Round- Rei, barely feeling the impact, knows she doesn't need to go much more defensively, and switches to an offensive dance, hoping to dazzle the couple near her. Alligapod uses Peck vs #5 AC 2 Flying Physical wgsu7ihR1d20 1d8+32
Lancer activates, giving Alligapod 5 dr for a round.
-New Round-
Rei uses Dance of Blades to gain 2 stages in attack. Power Pirouette activates, confusing both 1 and 3!
