If it was indeed only a one time thing, then maybe that's a good thing? Rei's not sure she can handle the responsibility of knowing her future. If it never happens again maybe she can forget about it...

Rei keeps her distressed mind blank until she makes distance from the psychic branch to avoid prying minds.

Rei kinda finally realizes what she's done when Holly gives off a squeak. But she's also leaned in after so maybe it's alright? Rei backs up (partly for air), but doesn't let go of her hand or let go of the leg.
