Ezra smirked at the guard’s reaction to the group’s antics. He barely had time to think about the guards comments before everyone burst into a flurry of action. The woman stuck a cord that resonated strangely before Gladius stomped shaking the entire room. Before he could even react to that Stone shot a beam of light out of his chest at the guard knocking him to the ground. Ezra stood there stunned for a moment, half out of shock and half to make sure that someone else wasn’t about to explode. As he waited he listened for an alarm or some sort of ruckus but there was nothing filtering down from outside. Ezra let out the breath he had taken before the insanity he had just witnessed.
“I’ve got to admit, I’ve got about a thousand questions right now. But could one of you please let me out of here since you’ve managed… That.” Ezra gestured wildly at the man on the floor, ignoring the Houndour as he doubted it would do much without its owner. “If any of us are here once they do discover us I doubt they’ll let any of you do those same tricks twice.”
The woman, who introduced herself as Gina unlocked each of the remaining cells and un-cuffed the other two. Ezra gave her a curt bow and quickly vacated the cell, heading straight for the evidence locker. He smiled as they locked the guard in his old cell, severed the bastard right. Even if Ezra doubted he’d be in there long. He quickly went through the locker after Gladius was done. One he had retrieved his things he release Ann from her Pokeball before he stepped to the side.

"Knocked his ass out, stripped him naked and locked him up over gettin handsy with a stranger, your definition of nice must really be something." Victor laughed. "We taking this moment to go our sep'rate ways then?" Victor retrieved a Pokeball that was damaged to some degree, a marred roughness about it's surface, a pair of heavy iron-soled boots, a massive cloak, and a tricorn hat. There were also a myriad of medical supplies amongst his things in the footlocker.
"Swallowed a flashlight once and it took, nothing special. Mum was terrible upset about it a'first but it saved the house on candles and whatsit, so it worked out in the end." The large man waved dismissively as he pulled his greatcloak around himself.

Gina grabbed a single thing from the locker, strangely enough; a little Premier Ball, white with red trim, and released a Chatot onto her shoulder. The bird seemed panicked at first, but settled down after seeing Gina was all right and they were fine...Ish. At Victor's suggestion, Gina paused. "...Um, I'm not sure that would be such a good idea, actually. Marines are swarming the island, and even if they're drunk, I don't think we'd do so well individually. And I really don't think they'll be happy about us escaping." She pointed out, petting her Chatot.
"...Wait, does escaping jail make us pirates now?" She asked, a bit confused. Gina had reacted on instinct, and now logic was rearing its ugly head.

"Only if you were arrested for piracy before." Victor soothed. "Escaping a holding cell and damaging GW property still very illegal though, maybe not bounty worthy if it was a small deal. Imagine they'll be plenty pissed to lump you in with the rest of us though. Here, put this on, we make for the docks." He tosses Gina the guard's uniform. "Spectrum Shift." He announced in a deep voice, taking on the appearance of the man in the cell beside him when he'd still been clothed.
"If they are as drunk and lousy as you say in these parts, couple of sober marines and two prisoners shouldn't make for many questions. Can probably jerry rig the cuffs to fall apart with minimum effort if you give me a minute." Even the voice was a good facsimile.

Gladius drew his shortsword from its scabbard and banged his shield on the ground lightly, checking then for damage as Ezra spoke, and Stoney responded. Gladius smirked are the response, clearly a joke.
"Well, I ate the Quake-Quake Fruit, so I'm a Tremor Man," he said, sheathing his sword. He took a pokeball from his belt, releasing his own small avian pokemon who flew around happily before perching on his shoulder.
Then he looked over at Gina. "Some of us were pirates before we broke out of jail," he said with a wide grin. "Or, at least, working on it. Crew's a little on the small side right now. It's just me," he said. Not one to be left out, the Rufflet on his shoulder cawed. "Right, and Aquila. But to answer your question, I think it just makes you a criminal...not necessarily a pirate since you haven't done any pirating," he said thoughtfully. "Although I don't know if there's a difference to the Marines."
"But you're right, we should stick together, at least until we can get away. Can't really hang around here after breaking out of jail," he said. "And if you decided you wanted to be a Pirate, you could always join my crew," Gladius added with a smirk.
Gladius watched as Stoney took on the shape of the other guard. "That's a nice trick," he said with a grin. "I guess we could try sneaking out...don't really want to get chained up again though," he said with a frown. "There's gotta be some bigger uniforms around here somewhere...or we could just fight our way out. These guys aren't so tough," he said with a grin.

Gina paused after being passed the Marine uniform, looking between Victor and the other guys. All guys. Luckily for her, and perhaps unluckily for the guys, there was a restroom nearby. Gina ducked inside with Dolly, re-emerging soon afterwards in the Marine uniform. It clearly wasn't made for someone of her proportions, with the chest being a bit tight, but with a bit of adjusting and undoing some of the top buttons, it would be passable. And it allowed subtle access to her pocket dimension without her having to create a questionable hole in the air, which was always good. Gina looked at her guitar, then slung it over her back. All else fails, she could claim she got it off a prisoner and liked it. Or something.
Dolly fluffed herself up to look more...Marine-y. Or just to be fluffy, as the Rufflet recently released was very fluffy.

Ezra shook his head and laughed at Stone’s comment, he didn’t believe a word of it but he had to admit there was definitely plenty of things he didn’t know about this world. He watched as the others also grabbed their belongings. Gina commented about whether this made them pirates. Ezra muttered under his breath that it definitely made them something. At least Stone seemed to have a plan of some sort, his abilities continued to amaze as he copied the appearance of the marine. He liked the plan though. “That should get us to the docks, although getting off this island might be tricky. I don’t know if there were any ships planning on leaving.” Gladius commented that he was a “Tremor” man, that really meant nothing to Ezra but he shrugged and decided not to poke any further. The man definitely had something against chains, but Ezra really didn’t blame him. “It would make things a lot easier if we did sneak by.” Gina walked off, presumably to change.
“If Stone messes with the cuffs they shouldn’t be much of an issue, would save us some time and a headache or two. With our luck we’ll most likely end up fighting our way out of town anyway.” Ezra patted Ann as he checked to make sure she was alright. “We really should get going though, things are going to explode once we get discovered.”

"Just because they come off easy doesn't mean I want to put them on," Gladius said flatly, looking at Ezra. "I've spent enough time in chains for one day," he frowned.
"And besides, I kinda want to find the guy who gave me the lump on the back of my head and return the favor," Gladius said, folding his arms. "Can't really do that if I'm chained up," he pointed out.

"Is having them draped over your arms wearing them? Just imagine the fun of taking them off and whipping him with them. It would give you the element of surprise and the chance to pummel him a few extra times."

"Hmm...I don't know...," Gladius said with a frown. "I don't like it. Besides, they don't really let prisoners carry around their gear...and I can't really hide this thing," he said, lifting his shield. It was easily four feet tall and two feet across, with a curvature to it that protected the wielder. "Can't exactly stuff this in my hat, heh," he said, smirking at Gina.

Gina listened and thought quickly, knowing they likely didn't have much time. "Um, well, maybe we can say Gladius wanted to join and we're 'testing him out' on the docks against Erza? If they ask why he's armed, say armor is harder to swim in if he fails." She suggested with a shrug. "They're drunk, it might work." It was surprisingly dark given her innocent tone and demeanor, but then again she IS(or, was) a barmaid. She probably heard worse earlier today. Regardless, she just hoped that they could get moving, despite Gladius's aversion to chains.

"S'pose he poses as a merc and it'd be fine, I get it Glady. Spendin' your life in irons you're want not to wear 'em when you can, I did it too. S'How I ended up in th' pirate trade at anyrate." Victor nodded appreciably at Gina. "I'm not the best liar, and this look is just for show. Someone gets too close to me an' gives me a bump, they're going to wonder the hell is going on. We should stick to the outskirts of town whatever we decide, but let's mosey."
(Assuming Ezra is amiable to the broken cuffs idea, Victor will take a few moments to jury rig a set and we can move on.)

Gladius grinned, beaming at Stoney and scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, something like that," he said with a smile. "Well, let's get a move on, then. And don't worry, if anyone figures out your disguises we can just beat 'em up," he said nonchalantly, walking toward the door.

As the four of you move into town, it's obvious that the Marines have turned the place into their own private playground. There are a group of Marines sitting outside the sherrif's office at a table, playing cards. They appear to be using a number of knicknacks and trinkets in lieu of chips... and you all spot one of them tossing a police badge into the pot as a new hand is dealt. The houses have their windows shuttered and the doors are all closed, rather than open to admit the cool night air; and the only civilians that you see are moving quickly and in groups, doing their best not to attract the attention of the Marines. An unfortunate few however seem to have been unable to do so, and you spot a few civilian men and women being sat on laps or holding drink trays with forced smiles on their faces; enduring their treatment as best they can. Turning a corner, you run into a pair of Marines that are using each other as support, one of them loosely clasping a bottle of wine in one hand. Gina, you recognize it as one of your mother's private stock, not something that she hands out by the bottle. "Oi! Oioioioioi! Elllllioooott!" One of the Marines gestures at Victor's transformed shape, nearly dislodging his counterweight/companion. "Finally managed to getchurself a 'placement eh? You gotsta head down to the tavern, the girls there..." he lets out a wolf-whistle, wiggling his eyebrows. The other one harrumphs, taking a long pull from the bottle. "'Course the captain ain' lettin us at tha' one spitfire. Shoulda broke her nose afta she clubbed Myron so 'ard... Psh, 'nother on of 'is collections I s'pose." He peers blearily at the group, struggling to force his eyes to focus. "Ey, ain't tha' the fake sawbones? Why en't he in the cell? An who're you," he slurs, stumbling forward with his friend and poking Gina in the chest with the tip of his wine bottle. "Yer no' one of the crew... y'know, falsely wearin a Marine uniform s'punishble by floggin! We could 'port yas!"

"Fake sawbones? You feelin' alright? It's just me and my girl out for a walk... was gonna sneak her back into the barracks cause the Captain don't approve of civvies after hours. It's one of my spare uniforms, even got my nametag still on it." He jerks a thumb at Gina's outfit. Gently draping an arm over Gina, he nestled her a little closer. "Sure was lucky to get a night off finally. Catch some rest eh? So deep in your cups you're seein things."

Oh sweet Arceus, Victor was terrible at this whole lying thing...How in the world did he make it as a pirate?! Gina didn't mind the hand or nestling, but simply could not stand that sad attempt and jumped in. "He even asked me to keep the girls out; figured most people would know the uniform's just for show." She 'elaborated' with a bit of chest jiggling, then looked behind them. "...Yeah, there's no one back there, guys. Maybe you two should head to the barracks before Elliot and I get there; maybe you'll be able to catch some sleep before we wake you up." Doubling up Victor's claim, and providing a sly wink, should help matters significantly...

As their jaunt out of jail began, Gladius had a happy enough grin on his face, but as they entered town, that quickly changed.
As they passed the buildings with shuttered doors and windows, Gladius frowned. As they passed by the huddled groups of civilians, Gladius's brow furrowed, his frown deepening. When they passed by the civilians being made to wait on the Marines hand and foot, and sit on their laps, an audible, "Hmm...," escaped from Gladius...and it was not a pleasant sound.
Then they passed the sheriff's office, and Gladius saw the Marines playing cards...with other people's things. That was it. He sighed audibly. "Nope. Can't do it," he said, breaking off from the group as they encountered the drunken duo.
Gladius walked straight over to the table where the Marines were playing, Aquila still perched on his shoulder, walked right up to it wordlessly, right next to the one with the girl on his lap, and gave the table a hard kick, flipping it over unceremoniously toward the other Marines on the opposite side of the table. As he did so, he glared at the Marine with the woman on her lap, a look of sheer disdain in Gladius's eyes.

The effect of flipping the table on the Marines is stunning. The one that Gladius had lanced through with such a powerful glare falls out of his seat and onto his butt, crabwalking back from where he'd fallen, trembling in fear. The civilian takes the opportunity to run, her own face showing shock and fear, though Gladius hears a barely audible "thank you" as she passes him.
The two drunks with Gina and Victor turn suddenly when the racket starts, only for both of them to turn an unhealthy pale graygreen color, managing to scurry away into an alley before the loose control of their rebellious stomachs is lost.
The remaining three Marines that were playing cards however seem to be of sterner stuff than their companion, drawing weapons and pokeballs. One of them points his drawn blade at Gladius. "You scum! Attacking a Marine like that? We'll show you what it means to disrespect the instruments of Justice!"
Another peers closely at the armored figure, before his eyes widen. "Lieutenant, that's one of the prisoners the Captain said we were going to be taking with us!" The Marine officer gives a grim smile at that.
"Well, let's see about getting some bonus pay then, shall we gents?!"

....God dammit Gladius. Gina sighed, grabbed the bottle the drunks dropped off the ground - yep, one of her Mom's, and not much left - recorked it, then placed it inside her chest. With that taken care of, Gina slung the guitar from her back to her front and got ready to make this fight as short as possible. At least she had some room to play now. Dolly squawked and ruffled her feathers, getting agitated at all this hubbub.

Gladius gave a barely perceptible nod as the girl fled, his glare still fixed on the cowering Marine. Only once the other Marines started to speak did he turn to face them.
"You Marines go around treating these people like you own them, and you're calling me scum?," Gladius asked the Marine, a serious look on his face as he stares down the Marine's blade. Aquila added to the stare, perched on Gladius's shoulder. "But you'really mistaken, I'm not just scum. I'm a Pirate," he said, putting emphasis on the word, "and if there's one thing that us Pirates understand, it's freedom. We know just how valuable it is," he said, keeping his stern gaze fixed on the Marine with his blade drawn. "And what you're doing here, making these people serve you...there's no justice in that," he said, practically spitting the word at the Marine.
Then the other Marine identified him, and Gladius turned to face that one. "Yeah, that's right, I was your prisoner. And I bet you're just dying to know how I escaped, aren't ya?," he asked, a devious grin on his face. Gladius drew his sword and took up a fighting posture, knees bent, shield forward, and sword held level above the shield, tip pointed ahead of him. "Well, bring it on, if you think you've got what it takes!" Aquila squawked threateningly, spreading his wings defiantly.
