Minutes Prior to the Beginning of the Reign of the as-of-yet-unnamed Dragon Dynasty:The throne room of Metal Corpse Keep is a dimly lit and eerie place. The walls and most of the furnishings seem to have been carved from a single gigantic piece of blackened metal. Above the wooden table that has been set up for tonight's procedings looms a massive skull made from the same dark material. Ida:You are almost positive that you are sitting within Heatran's physical remains. You can detect a strange aura in the room, one that makes you feel optimistic about carrying out your destructive agenda. This aura tugs weakly at your soul, as if Heatran knows in spite of its condition that you belong to it. Aside from you, your counterpart, and your respective advisers, only two other men are in the room. The first, Lord Governor Shawn Evander, is an ancient looking man with a wizened white beard and a robe befitting a scholar. He introduces himself as the host, welcomes all present to his home, and hands the floor over to his grandson Shi, Champion of the Magikarp Pass Pokemon League, and acting sovereign. Rather than any sort of league garb, Shi wears a simple cloth suit emblazoned with the image of a Moltres snatching some hidious demonic fish from a stream, which is likely the emblem of his bloodline. The only real symbol of Shi's status is an impressively thick gold staff, embedded with a strange stone, the surface of which seems fluid with moving spots of black, white, and various grays. Ida:Shi seems far more sober than he was earlier when you first met, and has changed into clean clothes as well. He is still clearly a bit drunk however. Brinn:You recognize the stone on the Champion's staff as an Astrologer's Stone, any bandit's wet dream. An Astrologer's Stone empowers the wielder's soul to allow them to invoke multiple mega-evoloutions in quick succession, and grants them localized control over the light of the sun, moon, and stars.
Each Astrologer's Stone has to be painstakingly crafted with the body chemistry of a specific user in mind, a process that takes most master chemists the better part of a lifetime, but the rarity of the components still means that a bandit squad who manages to steal such an item can sell it and become set for life. Shi glances around the table, locking eyes with everybody in turn, before speaking. "I have deputized... deputized myself with the power to investigate and punish all crimes that occurred before your ascension as I see fit, without limit or oversight. I will also continue to investigate and punish serious crimes that occur until you are both happy with whatever system of justice you come up with, although in those situations you may... overrule me on a case by case basis if you wish." "Aside from those duties and privileges however," the Champion continues with a clear sigh of relief, "I hereby surrender sovereign rule of the Kingdom to both of you. Should you disagree on policy or proclamation, you are both to state your case to the assembled royal court at The Crucible, and those gathered who have earned or inherited the... right... to vote shall decide whose agenda shall prevail. The assembled court also has the... authority to appoint a temporary dictator in times of war or divine crisis, if they feel the monarchy is ill equipped to handle the situation. Lastly, unless an agreement is made while you are both still living, the assembled court shall also decide which of your bloodlines will inherit the throne after you are both dead."The Champion then offers a wide grin, produces a flask from his pocket, and takes a long swig. "Alright! With that out of the way lets get to the fun part! Queen Brinn, please rise and approach the head of the table to receive your artifacts."The first adviser to present an artifact to Queen Brinn is a highborn looking woman named Minerva who represents The Wolves of the Fey Road. She produces a large burlap sack, from which she pulls an impressive long sword made from some strange luminous silver metal. "This is the Sword of Jiang Quin, the first human to lead his people into the east-lands and settle these mountains. In anticipation of your reign, some of the most crafty wolves had to defile time itself to obtain this weapon for you; It was destroyed at this very spot, caught up in Heatran's detonation. The weapon itself is forged from the feathers of Emperor Lugia, collected before it was forced to sacrifice much of its power and bind itself to the mortal realm." Ida:You know this woman, and have no reason to like her. Minerva has blood ties to the Royal Family of the Dewlan Kingdom; She is the bastard daughter of Leonhard's Uncle. The history books you were raised on state that she used to lead troops for her tyrannical cousin in her youth, before settling into the life of a bandit. To the best of your knowledge she is still on good terms with her family.
Minerva is known as the buzzard, in part because she is the last known person to breed the extinct-in-the-wild Giant Dewlan subspecies of Mandibuzz, which at some point before you were born was decreed to be for the exclusive use of Dewlan royalty. Your mother used to have several of the majestic birds herself, but was forced to turn over the strongest specimens to Minerva and slaughter the rest after the decree was made. The next presenter looks more like a four hundred pound ball of fat and muscle than a man. Clad in the simple trappings of a monk, he introduces himself as Brother Redondo, a member of the Keepers of Prophecy. Kneeling before his queen, the monk present a frightening looking book that is bound in the same strange blackened metal that makes up the room. It is held shut with a chain and simple iron lock, to which he also presents a key. "This is the Tome of Thieves for Heatran's Timeline. Anybody caught by my order trying to meddle with the historical events of Heatran's first coming through time-travel is broken down into pure knowledge and stored in this well indexed book. You can search its pages to learn almost anything known to those trapped within. The reason we keep it chained is because it would be a trivial feat for a Necromancer, Life Mage, or other practitioner of animation to free a prisoner and grant him or her a new form. Seeing as some of those within are fierce enemies of Heatran and others mighty Wolves, it may be in your interests to find a way to commute their sentences."The last of Brinn's presenters to approach is the commoner Wąż, who kneels before Brinn before placing a simple emerald amulet around her neck. Brinn:As soon as the charm touches your flesh, your confidence soars. It is as if the sky itself is calling, acknowledging you as an equal, and inviting you to explore it as one might the body and soul of a lover. It takes a good deal of willpower not to transform into Latias on the spot and take flight. "This, m'lady," Waz boasts, "is an Amulet of the Clear Skies. It allows the wearer to embrace the element of flight, and permits even an inexperienced Spirit such as yourself to safely visit the Airstreams, a realm outside of our own that is home to unique Pokemon, mighty beings, vast resources, and even several gods. This Kingdom, the court you shall lead, and the prophecy that put you here will drag ya down if you let it, so it is important to remember that as a pure Spirit, you are above all of us. Find allies and opportunities that no demon or mere mortal could aspire to!"Ida:Between the barely concealed venom in his gaze, and his open talk of demons and pure spirits, it is clear that Wąż considers you to be little more than a threat to what he has built for himself.

Brinn tries to ignore the fact that she is walking through the remnants of a demon. Especially when that demon was scheduled to return and she was tasked with stopping it. As such, she's still noticeably restless as she finally meets the other Prophesied Queen, Champion and Lord Governor. Her eyes widen at the sight of the Stone. It was no wonder Champion Shi was such a famous presence even outside Magikarp Pass.
Her esteem for the Champion is only slightly dampened by his clearly inebriated manner. She couldn't blame him for having a bit to take the edge off coming to such a ghoulish place, and frankly she wished she had thought to do the same, but he had clearly imbibed more than was fitting for the occasion. Still, if he was willing to deal with some criminal hunting he'd be an asset. If he could stay sober that was.
And then it was time for her artifacts. She didn't know what to hope for. She'd always taken what she'd wanted. As such, the first gift being exceedingly practical was a pleasant turn. With an experimental swing to test the balance, she graciously accepts. "I'm sure the tale to pinch it would be just as exciting as what I'll put it through. Such a fine blade is worthy of a Queen. Thank you, Minerva."
Brother Redonado's gift was likewise useful, although in a different way. She wasn't the most well versed and the thought of being trapped forever in a dusty old tome seemed slightly horrifying but others' loss would be her gain. Especially if she could glean some insight in how to defeat Heatran or find a better way to 'get' what she wanted. "It will surely prove useful in the coming battle. "
Waz's gift finally managed to chase away the last of her restlessness. It is in fact noticeable enough that she doesn't call out the man for calling her inexperienced, even if it might be true. Her hand brushes against the amulet almost subconsciously. "Thank you Waz." It is all she can do to thank him for his gift. With something so unique it was hard for her to judge how useful it was anyway. And at least now she would be able to get a good look at her pair.

Brinn:The sword is well balanced. The handle appears to be made from some strange naturally crimson wood, and the blade from transparent feathers that are soft and fluffy on the flat but rigid and sharper than steel on the edges. You can see what appears to be a thin core of solid gold beneath the feathers, which gives the weapon enough weight to deal damage. After Brinn thanks Waz, Champion Shi invites Queen Ida to the front of the room to receive her artifacts next. First to present the Demon Queen with an artifact is a man in his mid thirties who's dress identifies him as a wandering trainer of good birth. Introducing himself as Prince Rêve Congelé of Whitefish Flats, he produces what appears to a broach made entirely from glass. "M'lady, the Redemptive Reflection has decided to officially endorse the cause that initially brought us together. As your new kingdom sits fairly close to the... target area, and you were specifically born to serve a purpose similar to this cause, the Reflection has chosen to bestow upon you the title of Redeemed Commander. This title makes you the highest strategic, logistic, and moral authority within my order on matters involving the lands we aspire to affect."Rêve kneels before Ida, before pinning the broach on her. "The broach itself is not much to speak of, but it will allow for communication with your notable subordinates within the Reflection... Once you have them. The reflection will send personnel and resources once you designate a good private location to serve as headquarters for our cause. If you are willing to peruse the cause openly, we can send these things to your court at the Crucible instead."Ida:The title bestowed upon you is likely to be a huge boon, but will have some downsides you will likely have to carefully play around.
The fact that the Reflection is willing to commit to a struggle against the Dewlan Kingdom is great. The fact that they have put you in charge of these efforts is even better. You know, however, that the Redemptive Reflection would never be willing to persue total destruction - they will likely want to stop once Leonhard and his lackies are removed and the vassal states are freed.
You also know the reflection will oppose any effort to bring back Heatran. The look on Keai's face tells you she is far from thrilled with Reve's gift for this reason - her life likely depends on convincing you that unleashing Heatran is your best option. After giving Ida a handshake and cooridal hug, Rêve returns to his seat and is replaced by a tall elderly woman who wears the headscarf of a nun and the garb of a seasoned explorer. "Greetings friends. I am Maria Desierto of the Green Mothers. My order specializes in the breeding and raising of Pokemon, and as such believes in the importance of knowing one's lineage. With that in mind, my gift to Queen Ida is of a very personal nature. Further explanation is provided in a letter, which she may read aloud or to herself at this time."Brinn:The name Maria Desierto is familiar to you. Known to the Wolves as the Merchant Nun or the Crossbow Sheep, she is one of the few traders to successfully operate in the Orc and Bandit infested mountains beyond the Eastern border of Magikarp Pass.
Maria most often runs small shipments of highly valuable psychoglass from the underground Kobold Citystate where it is produced to the tradeport of Quin's Keep. Those who attempt to rob her, even the most hardened wolves and revered orc warriors, tend to end up dead. You know there is a bounty on her head; One hundred thousand gold talents and a fifty man bandit horde to any wolf who can claim the nun's scalp, and many Orc tribes are offering similar payment for her head. The Nun offers Ida a tray that carries four elaborate Poke-balls made from the same strange translucent yellow glass that makes up her Spearow's eye and studded with gems. Ida:The letter reads as follows:
Ida,
I am called Mindredge, and I rule a city-state called Clearscales, that lies below the mountains Southeast of Magikarp Pass, as Demon Lord. To provide for my subjects, I often offer my seed to various groups looking to sire Draconic Demons, in exchange for various supernatural resources. When you contacted the Green Mothers to provide you with an adviser and an artifact, they conducted an investigation on your heritage, which lead them to me.
Almost eighteen years ago, I conducted a seed sale transaction through Heatran's Harem. Although I am not entirely positive I am your father, it seems overwhelmingly likely. The seed was heading north, likely to the Dewlan Kingdom or one of its vassals, and if implanted in a human woman of good birth would have produced a girl who is also a Latias Spirit with a natural inclination towards the demonic arts. Furthermore, none of the other demons known to either myself or the Green Mothers to sell seed to Heatran's Harem admit to conducting any such transactions in the frame of time that could have lead to your birth.
The four Pokeballs are crafted from specimens of my seed that I have dubbed too wild and uncontrollable to either raise as my own child or sell to some hapless woman wanting to birth a demon. Instead they are to become powerful Pokemon by snatching the body and consuming the soul of whatever you catch in these Pokeballs. Remember that they are your half siblings, and should be treated as family.
I must also inform you that the selection of Mother Desierto as your adviser was my choice. She is a good friend of mine, and one of the few imperial merchants crazy enough to brave the bandit infested mountain path to trade with my people. Frankly, I would have married her if she was not subject to a vow of Chasity and I had met her at a younger age. She swore to me that she would see to your growth as she would her own child, and as I trust her completely, I know that you will become truly mighty in one way or another. I look forward to hearing tales of your deeds and miss deeds, and watching your reign.
Yours in Paternal Affection,
Mindredge
---
Before reading the letter, all you knew of your father is that his identity was withheld from you because the Harem feared his fairly benevolent nature may corrupt you. All eyes in the room are on Ida as she reads the letter. When she finishes, the nun returns to her seat and is replaced by an alluring young female minstrel who wears only enough clothing to cover her most private areas and provide support for several sheaths that carry various wind instruments. She kneels before Ida in somthing halfway between a bow and a seductive pose before speaking. "I've been told that everybody here knows that my dear Ida is part of Heatran's Harem, so there is no point hiding that I am the adviser sent to her by said order. Allow me to try and put some of your fears to rest; The Harem has been divided since Heatran's death. Many of us are happy with the freedom that being leaderless brings. Of those who wish for Heatran's return, most agree that it would be wise to wait for Lugia to fall before seeking his ressurection, so as to avoid a battle we are unsure that we can win. Even those unwilling to wait, and want nothing more than to see our god feast upon the carcass of yours, have been caught with their pants down by the assassination of the Bo Monarchs - we acknowledge that these events fortell Heatran's return, but even those most actively working towards that end feel that it would be impossible to do right on their within the mortal lifespans of Queens Brinn and Ida."The woman pauses for a second to reach down the front of her skimpy bottoms and somehow produce a small cloth bag. Most of the men present drool in spite of themselves. She smiles, and continues speaking. "In light of these fortold events, Heatran's Parliament has come to a grand compromise. The Harem will unanimously support the reincarnation of Heatran using the body and mind of Ida or one of her legitimate offspring as host. Lugia is known to tolerate some demons, and shares a common enemy with Heatran in Regigigas, so it is our hope that a new Heatran can co-exist with the god-emperor of humanity as ally and equal."Ida:You don't know how much of this is true, and how much of it is Keai trying to pacify the others. You are vaugely aware that there are some divisions within Heatran's parliment, and that Keai and her masters are firmly on the side of summoning Heatran as soon as possible, but beyond that you are generally kept in the dark about what the higher-ups in the Harem are up to. She opens the bag in her hand, which begins to belch out a noxious black smoke. "With this goal in mind, Ida is to be anointed with Heatran's Hex Mark."Ida and Brinn:You both know that a Hex Mark is a living Tattoo worn by important demons and used to corrupt mortals into witches. Most hex marks can be materialized as some item or another, and particularly powerful ones grant other benefits as well. Most Hex Marks are made from Ink, and particularly powerful ones from blood or ichor, but Heatran's was said to be made from actual magma. Holding the bag open in her palm, the Minstrel produces a small flute with her free hand and blows a few sinister notes. On cue, a fist size glob of magma rises from the bag and flings itself at Ida, striking her torso between her naval and crotch, burning through her clothes, and fusing harmlessly with her skin to form a tattoo in the shape of a tall mushroom with a ring around the stem: Heatran's symbol of ultimate destruction that was said to appear in the sky when the Demon God detonated. Ida:The Tattoo hurts immensely for a few brief moments, before it cools and binds to your body, mind, and soul. Luckily it stopped burning your clothes before too much of your skin was revealed. New clothes you put on should be safe.
It glows bright orange, so bright that you fear it might be visible through your clothes unless you hide it under something a bit more solid than cloth, like a belt. This shouldn't be an issue, however, as you have full control over the size, shape, and location of the tattoo. You can even project it off of your body to form temporary gear of magma.

Searching for a sign Guide my hands unto your will Let me be the one Watch the blood of martyrs spill ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ Light that flickers in the dark Forge the way through blackest night Strangled silence makes its mark Pierce the heart of tyrant's sight | Entering the Metal Corpse Keep, Ida feels totally at home. A long time member of Heatran's Harem, the decoration of this place and the remnant of Heatran's presence are strangely comforting. Hell, she can even feel Heatran actually poking at her soul. That bit does worry her, a reminder that her future decision to either remove or support Heatran will both come with huge consequences, and the young queen tries her best to shake off the small chunk of "remove Heatran" thought from her mind in hope that the long demon cannot probe that bit of bad news from her mind.
Oh my God, this is really happening. Ida gives no clear response to the Shi's speech aside from holding her shaking hands tight and resting them down on her waist level. Relax Ida, this is just the beginning...more power will come to you in the future. Power, and what comes with it a full kingdom, is officially hers. She wonders how does her arch enemy(King Leonhard of Dewlan) feels about it when he first takes the throne but she certainly cannot hold back on all the joy she is feeling at the moment. Thank God again, that her counterpart is the first to receive the artifacts, that gives her some time to adjust herself in the dark.
The first adviser of Queen Brinn certainly cuts off her happy moment. Minerva, a potential enemy with that is on good term with Dewlan Kingdom. At her very first opporturnity to gauge if she can work in harmony with Queen Brinn in their shared reign, why it has to be Minerva? The second gift comes from the Keepers of Prophecy. Ida does not have any problem with the presenter himself but she is well aware of the time-traveling ability of Keepers of Prophecy members is a double-edged sword to her. Assuming she can into good relationship with them, a harder task now knowing Brinn has a closer relationship with them, one can learn a lot through actually visiting events of the past. On the other side, she feels they will have a lot of knowledge on Heatran and can effectively screw with her plan if she were to revive the demon. Then comes Waz, a potential key figure of her very possible war against the Gyarados Falls. The good news is that she can sense the snobbiness of the businessman, not surprising from a businessman of his statue, and that can be an attack point for her in the future. Ida likes being weak or acting weak, so others would not think so highly of her...until the moment she decided to reveal her true power. Her mother has reminded her many times that those who show their strength with their "oh, I am number one on this land" attitude are some of the stupidest men on the planet, as theyw just reveal their whole arsenal to the world and their brash attitude will only lead to their downfall. While that is not absolute, as many powerful kingdoms are powerful because they are clearly the best - and everyone knows they are - in some aspects, but she likes keeping things in the dark; "poker face" might just be the name of her approach.
Then, it is her time to go to the front of the room and she walks with as much grace as she can muster from all the years of courtly training. The only thing of worry to Ida is Prince Rêve Congelé giving her even a tiny bit of affection on the presentation but thankfully, the Prince knows how to behave good enough. "As the Redeemed Commander," Ida cannot help on the guilt that keeps flowing out from within her as she says the title ironically, "I hereby thank you and the Redemptive Reflection for the title, and will do my best to serve the order." Ida tries her best to keep the hug within the courtly manner and will hold the Prince if he were to do something further.
Mother Desierto comes next, leaving the climax to the most fitting representative among the six, Keai of the Heatran's Harem. "Thank you, Mother." She takes the tray with both hands before giving the Nun a nod of appreciation. "I promise to put these items to good use and I will be reserve the letter for myself, as to not waste anybody's time today."
(If not necessary, Ida will skip reading of the letter for this meeting and just read it when she is back to the inn or in her private chamber in the Crucible.)
Finally, here it comes, the Heatran's Harem. Ida thinks of adding into Keai's story but decides against it after some consideration. She knows, and can careless, about all the false information her advisor is spreading to the room. All she wants is for the others to not give her pressure over this whole Heatran's Harem association. Admittedly, Keai's solution of having Ida as host does not seem like it would please everyone in the room. While at the same time, Ida can't help but imagine the power she can wield as Heatran reincarnate. It is possible she can take on Dewlan Kingdom on her own if she were to become so and that is so tempting. Meh, maybe those are all fake stuffs that Keai makes up. Ida knows she shall not be so happy right away. As she is still in her thought, she feels something coming right at her. Wait, what? is all she can come up with before she is struck hard by the Hex Mark of the Fire Demon. The extreme heat comes and goes in a matter of seconds - though they are some of the most painful seconds in her life so far - and Ida can literally feel power inside her. The call of Heatran strengthen as Ida toys with her tattoo, which she actually learns and gets used to right away as if it is part of her body. After spending a few seconds to catch her breath from the fusion, she speaks again, "Thank you for this kind gift, Mistress Keai, I will be sure to put this into good use for the Harem and hopefully finds a peaceful way to solve the Heatran paradox." |

Brinn lounges in her chair in an unqueenly manner. That isn't to say she is completely relaxed, she keeps an eye on Queen Ida's advisors as they begin to present their gifts. This might be one of the few times she would see the gifts if what the rumors claimed was true. She still held the small hope that they were just rumors and that Queen Ida would stand with her against Heatran.
Unfortunately her outlook began to sour from the first gift. The Prince's talk of some other cause that they were championing was worrying. Granted they were nominally opposed to Demons but that didn't mean they hadn't fallen to the corruption they sought to heal. It was made worse since Queen Ida would have control of a portion of the Order.
The second advisor causes her to grip her sword more tightly for a moment before relaxing. She was no stranger to bounties but this Mother took the cake. But no, she would restrain herself. There had likely been a bounty on her own head at one point. Which draws forth a wry smile.
But the last put all that had come before her to shame. Brinn almost hoped she had misheard as the minstrel began to spin her tale. What are they trying to pull? She tries to remain level-headed even as the the sack is produced from...somewhere. But she begins to simmer as it's revealed what the true contents of the bag are. She tries to speak out against the ritual but only matters and angry sputter before the deed is done.
Brinn finally finds her feet and with them her voice. "I will not sit idly by as you work to bring back your Demon master," she spits, "You speak of Lugia's tolerance but what of Heatran's? This very hall is a testament! It destroyed rather than face defeat." She lets out an exasperated breath before glaring at the other woman, "Would you have this land in ruins again?"

Searching for a sign Guide my hands unto your will Let me be the one Watch the blood of martyrs spill ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ Light that flickers in the dark Forge the way through blackest night Strangled silence makes its mark Pierce the heart of tyrant's sight | Ida wishes that this ceremony can be done smoothly and for the two queens to work together, but the world always find a way to break her wish, perhaps as a constant reminder that no one is in full control of her life. She knows almost nothing of Queen Brinn before this, not easy to obtain information of someone that is as unknown as her in the big scheme, and she is disappointed that she does not get a quiet wallflower for a partner. Or a king, she is positive she would more chance to be in control against a male with all the techniques she has learnt from Keai. To a girl, not so much. A girl with temper, even tougher.
After a moment of quiet and no one to stand up before her, Ida has no choice but to speak for herself. "That's why we are searching for a peaceful way, to not turn this land into ruins again. If we can't come to a peaceful resolution, we find another way." Ida feel unease at the last sentence. She does not gaze over to Keai but she hopes the Mistress think she is trying to fool the people in the room. The resolution to the Heatran's problem is the only thing that holds their relationship together and it is too early for that rope to break. "I believe that things can be different this time and any matter, big or small, is not absolute. Would you not give any Orc a chance just because they were hostile to human in the past? Peace by supressing other races and such are only temporary, as they will eventually come back with vengeance. Only through comprimises that we can achieve true peace." |

Peace. Could it really be that easy? Perhaps she was mistaken about the prophecy and binding Heatran to Lugia was what was required. Prophecies were easily waylaid by intent. But even as these doubts spring to mind, the sight of this crater silences them. Brinn could see for herself how destructive the stubborn demon had been. But how to keep the peace for long enough to find a way to stop it?
Her teeth grate as she tries to find some words to salvage the situation. She doesn't want a fight with Ida, At least, not yet. Brinn ignores the later statement, instead deciding to nip at the first, "So you think to change Heatran's very nature? Perhaps that would be a fair compromise. Though I'd imagine that is nearly blasphemy against your master." She lets the subtle taunt sit for a moment before continuing on, "But remember that Wolves have teeth and it would be sad if you couldn't contain your new pet."
Brinn doesn't wait for Ida's response. At this point she'd rather the meeting was over with before she was forced into any other 'compromises'. "Champion Shi," she barks, "Are there any further ceremonies to perform?"

The Champion shrugs. "I'm afraid not. In my dru- ermm... haste, I forgot to bring your royal seals with me. Either your steward or myself will present them at the Crucible tomorrow. Our host will now show you to your rooms for the night. Wake up will be early so that you may eat, dress, and fly to the Crucible at sunrise. You are to land on the observation deck of The Sanctuary of the Timless, which is the large thin structure at the center of the compound, where your steward, The Timeless Purpura Canis, will greet you. He will *hic* give you a tour of the place and hopefully some good practical advice."
Shi turns to the Lord Governor, and servants arrive to escort you each to your room for the night, before the champion slaps his face and waves them off for a moment.
He sighs, "Oh... right... tomorrow I was going to set you both up with suites in the residence hall reserved for female members of your Royal Pokemon League, but I get the... feeling that the two of you sharing a common area at this time is a... poor... idea. The royal residence is off limits until it is deemed safe following the assassinations, so I think one of you should have your suite in the male residence hall instead. Any volunteers to be my neighbor?"
---
Your room for night is a small well-lit stone chamber in one of the towers added after the initial construction of the castle... You notice the air feels distinctly cooler here, in a part of the building not made from Heatran's remains. The furnishings themselves are nice, but hardly fit for a queen. The beds are covered in blankets made from warm but inexpensive mareep wool, while the wall is decorated with symbols and art of the Red Inquisition, and other paraphernalia of House Evander. You don't suppose the Champion gave the Lord Governor much notice that royalty would be spending the night.
Although you know your counterpart is in the next room over, the walls are thick and insulated against telepathy and other forms of supernatural eavesdropping, so any discussions you have should remain private. A servant waits just outside the door, ready to fetch any person you might wish to speak to.
(Feel free to respond to this section in your personal IC threads. I will have another update to this thread soon, but you are welcome to carry on an RP in your private thread even if something is happening here.)

Sunrise, Day 1 of the reign of the as-of-yet-unnamed Dragon Dynasty:
The sun begins to rise above the peaks to your west, marking the start of your reign. You can see the entire Crucible from your vantage point on the observation deck of the Sanctuary, and it is quite the unique sight. You are in the exact center of a perfectly cylindrical valley, surrounded on all sides by peaks too jagged for most beings to navigate.
Aside from the 'fortified tunnels' you may have heard tell of, the only way in or out appears to be by air; the valley walls have been smoothed and polished, making any sort of climb impossible. The sky above you contains several regiments of knights mounted upon winged rock types, the sort revived from fossils, on patrol in uniformed patterns. The soldiers are clearly well disciplinned and alert to your arival, as not even the appearence of their new queens flying into the valley in full Latias form was enough to rouse them from their drills. More rock Pokemon are stationed on the various roofs below you. You can understand how most airborne invasions would be at a heavy disadvantage.
The crucible itself is a series of buildings seated upon a single massive foundation that dominates at least three quarters of the valley. The vast majority of it is built from the same gray rock that makes up the peaks around you, but the building you are standing on, which is the tallest save for the Royal Residence, is constructed out of sandstone. Also made from sandstone are a multitude of mobile parts below you; Sandstone bridges extend and receded between buildings, sandstone sidewalks move underneath the feat of pedestrians, and several buildings with sandstone bases seem to slowly crawl across the Crucible floor under their own power.
The observation deck itself is a wide disk wrapped around the central tower of the sandstone sanctuary, which seems to be rotating very slowly. Functional telescopes, again made largely from Sandstone, line the railings of the deck, and four good sized rock gardens inhabit the interior of the deck. Three strange sandstone humanoids, surely the Timeless you have heard so much about, are kneeling in the rock garden furthest from you, seemingly engrossed in some sort of meditation or worship, but beyond that the only other person on the deck is your counterpart.
A soft voice, almost a whisper, seems to rise from the observation deck itself. It takes you a few moments to notice that one of the Timeless, a sandstone being with facial and body features resembling those of a lemur, is beckoning to the pair of you. "My queens, I am glad you both made it safely to the Crucible. Please accept these royal seals on behalf of the kingdom."
The figure approaches, offers a low bow, and hands you each a wooden stamp that can be used with hot wax to create the image of seven magikarp artfully arranged around a stylized picture of the Crucible. He then steps back to address you. "I am called Purpura Canis, and I have been named your steward by Lugia itself on account of my experience with Heatran. I was not consulted on the matter, and do have to warn you that Heatran's body was destroyed and its soul scrambled - As such I don't believe the Heatran I fought will have much in common with whatever Heatran you may face. That said, I have held almost every possible office of importance within the Crucible, up to and including yours, and as such I feel qualified for the position I have been given if you will have me."
Purpura takes a few steps back. "I can try and answer any questions either of you might have at this time, or if you prefer, I could give you privacy so that you may plot the beginning of your reign."

Unfortunately for the newly crowned Brinn's, talk with Waz would have to wait until later. The bustle of getting ready, was too disruptive and there wasn't a good opportunity to chat with him afterwards. Their chat would have to wait until she had finished traveling the grounds.
The flight to the Crucible was a relatively short one and Brinn took the time to revel in the skies. Her spirits were further heightened by the Amulet and she can't help but strain ahead of the other Queen. Showing off comes naturally and it was only a small slight. The sight of the sky knights is a good sign. They at least seemed to be paying attention to everything.
Her landing isn't the most graceful but at she doesn't take a tumble. Isn't there supposed to be someone here? The thought had barely entered her head before something shifts, causing her to start before she sees that it's a Timeless. She listens patiently as the Timeless explains his history, it was hard to fathom that he had actually been around when Heatran had run rampant.
She does bristle slightly as he insinuates they are in some plot. Ida might be but she was most certainly not! Her voice is still tinged with indignation as she asks about Heatran, "What do you mean Heatran will be different? Why would you think that?" Brinn hadn't intended to ask about Heatran at all but when such a fine source was offering...

Searching for a sign Guide my hands unto your will Let me be the one Watch the blood of martyrs spill ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ Light that flickers in the dark Forge the way through blackest night Strangled silence makes its mark Pierce the heart of tyrant's sight | At the dawn of the new day, two Latias took flight toward the Crucible. With the power from the newly received Amulet, one was faster than the other. "The other" knew well enough to compete against the leading Latias, she has no chance and all he could do was tailing it as fast as possible. By the side of the slower Latias was a small black dot, a little Vullaby for anyone who were close enough to see it, trying to keep up with the two large creatures ahead of it.
Shortly after Queen Brinn's landing, Ida too reached the observatory and landed herself right beside the leading Latias. Ida has spent plenty of time in Latias form, traveling between her kingdom and the Harem headquarter in the past few years so landing was very simple to her. Her Vullaby soon came into the frame as well. The poor bird was trying to catch a breath over the intense, albeit very short, flight but her break did not come peacefully at all. The sudden appearance of the Timeless stumbled her and it took a few rolls backward for her to regain back her composure.
Brinn was the first to speak as Ida kept herself on hold throughout the moment of silence. Ida certainly liked the information provided by Purpura Canis. A different Heatran would make her made-up speech on the previous day more convincing to Brinn. A grin came out of her face without her realizing about it and the best she could do was to play along with it.
"Are there any important or urgent issues that have not been resolved before the...assass- the sudden and sad end of the former reign? I think we should look into the urgent issues before anything else." Ida said right after Brinn has finished her enquiry. |
