Kaeda is helpfully teleported directly to the top of the mountain once she arrives at the Base Camp by an Alakazam. Gym Leader Anastasia is already waiting for her, Glaceon at her side as always. She politely greets Kaeda and asks 'Basic or Advanced Challenge?'. When Kaeda replies 'Basic', she nods and takes up position at the far side of the field. She and Kaeda toss their Poke Balls as one, and the Leader's Froslass appears on the field, trilling excitedly.

Kaeda starts the gym battle with Shogun the Weavile. 1st turn KAeda binds pinpoint strike, and Shogun uses Hone claws.

As soon as Kaeda's Weavile appears on the field, Anastasia Quick Switches into Pekel'na the Volcarona. It boosts its stats with a Quiver Dance.

Surt uses some momentum to negate some damage. He is still able to hop forward, and spew out some fire at the ghostie.
