Ruta spared the Weird a mere glance at it's sudden attack upon the mouse before giving the bird like Pokémon a critical look. Faultless weave back and forth upon the ground getting ready to attack the bird after it scattered a bunch of dirt on him. "Faultless, hold. We need to capture it not kill it." Taking the strange spheres from his vest pocket Ruta somewhat awkwardly took aim and threw the ball at the bird.

Cho sees the electric mouse shrug off her weird's attack with ease, and decides to change her approach. "Okay Gelectrode, let's try something else. See how well it reacts to a high pressure stream of water this time."Using the other half of its dual-element construction, the weird dutifully fires off a water blast at its target. Shikimaru dashes forward and with a powerful blow strikes the rabbit again, causing her to tumble to the side. At that exact moment, Arata throws out one of his Pokeballs, scoring a direct hit on the rabbit. A light flashes from the ball, absorbing the Pokemon inside of it. The ball rolls to the side, the Pokemon inside struggling against its containment for a few seconds, until the red light on the outside fades. The Pokemon is captured. A word appears in Arata's mind- "Nidoran."
Ruta and Ori'Cos both throw out Pokeballs as well. The balls each land on target, with the bird seeming to resist the Pokeball a bit longer than either of the rabbits caught by Arata and Ori'Cos. Almost instinctively, Ruta becomes aware that the bird is known as a Pidgey while Ori learns that his is called a Nidoran.
Cho understands the mouse seemed to be able to resist the effects of the electricity, so instructs Gelectrode to unleash a Water Gun attack instead. The attack seems to devastate the poor creature, soaking it to the bone while its body was still conducting powerful charges of electricity. The mouse begins to panic, and instead of attacking back on its own uses Charm on its attacker.

If successful, lower Gelectrode's attack by 2 CS
The two insects waste no time in pressing against the Pokeballs to join Bug. Simultaneously Bug becomes aware that the horned Pokemon is known as Weedle, and the other is known as Caterpie.

Seemingly ghosting from the shadow of the forest and picking up his new prize, Ori'cos looks at the ball that holds his new companion " Nidoran eh? I be gettn a fealin dat we be seing wat ya be mede of sunna den we think." Ori speaks mostly to himself before hanging the full poke ball off the crook of his staff like an Ornament.

Bug nods, stowing the two balls on his belt for now and noting the names of their species for later. "Bug will speak with the two later. For now, Bug sees a person in need of help!" He grins, motioning to Root, who trods over a bit sleepily. Bug picks up his companion, and sets her on his shoulder, observing the boy attempting to catch the other insect. He didn't want to do it FOR the boy, that would stifle his growth. A form of guidance or advice, that's what he wanted to offer... How to do it... Perhaps if he studied the interaction, a path would become clear to him...

When the pokemon's name appears in his mind, Ruta thoughtfully place a gloved hand to his temple as the 'wings' on his back fades away the cold glow dispersing in the light of the warm sun.
"I don't recall Jace mentioning 'revelations'..." Ruta murmurs before picking up his cloak and fussily swipes the minute dirt off the white clothe.
Meanwhile, Faultless crouched before the Pokeball having approach the moving ball with a fascination that only a feline could manage with all the stalker-ish zeal a ghost cat can evoke. After a moment of the ball not moving Faultless swiped at the ball, then again, until Faultless was unleashing the fury of a million scratches. For the good half of the show, Ruta watch in disinterest before deciding to intervene. The innocent ball juggled in the air until one swipe landed on the button releasing the Pokemon inside just as Ruta reached for the ball. Faultless fur hackles at the sudden flash of light, scrambling up Ruta's outstretch arm onto his shoulder in a 'strategic retreat'.
"Faultless if you ruin my clothes once more I will throw you in the church's well and bind you there for three days." Ruta 'tck'ed in an annoyed voice checking the condition of his cloak as Faultless yowl into his ear in response.
"Hmpht," Ruta shrugs before quickly facing the released Pokemon "So you're what call a Pidgey?" More so to himself than to the Pidgey as Ruta mentally questions the intelligence and capabilities of the Pidgey in comparison to Faultless.

Cho's Gelectrode is charmed by the little yellow rat's antics, at least as much as a semi-sentient weird can be. The lightning flickering within it doesn't show any signs of abating, though. Seeing that the creature seems to have taken that last hit relatively hard, Cho decides to move on to the next stage of the experiment: get the critter in the pokeball. Cho orders her Gelectrode to hold its foe still as well as it can, and as its pseudopods enwrap the target, she tosses her pokeball. Gelectrode grapples: 5E5tfB1Y3d6+1 vs opposed Combat or Athletics

The Bullet Punch successfully manages to knock the rabbit out, and while Gelectrode manages to wrap itself around the mouse with relative ease, the Pokeball thrown by Cho misses by a longshot. Matanui, make another Grapple check against the grapple check I'm gonna make here, and if you beat it by 5 or more you don't have to make an accuracy check on your next Pokeball attempt vs the Pichu xTKuqSNp2d6 Grapple check Bug watches the child trying to catch the flying ladybug. The bug seems to be staying just outside of reach of the net, but doesn't seem to be teasing the child in any way. Almost as if its testing the youngling to see if he was worth joining. 2d6

Bug smiles, approving of the test the flying insect was laying forth. But... he was a bit worried about the child. Young beings tended to get fed up before they learned the lesson, or cranky and upset. So perhaps a bit of guidance was necessary at this junction. He stepped forward, making his presence known to the boy and smiling.
"Hello trainer! If Bug may impart some advice, you may have a bit of luck with flying insect." He sits down, nodding to both the child and the ladybug. "Sometimes in life, tests will arise. HARD tests. Tests that may seem impossible at first glance. However, sometimes all that is needed is perseverance and effort. Sometimes thought is needed. Knowing when to think and when to simply act is a tricky lesson, but one that serves well. For this one... I suggest effort. The ladybug seems to be testing Trainer's mettle. What will the young trainer show?" He leans back, letting Root rest in his lap as he waits for his companions to finish their tests, and watches the young bug catcher during his.

Arata makes an exaggerated show of sheathing his sword, and only half a second behind, Shiki-kan is doing the same. "Well fought Shiki-kan." Arata praises, "and to you as well." he addresses to Ori'cos. He looks around to survey the remainder of the group. "It seems most of us have completed our test. Though we shouldn't let our guards down too much, these wild beasts are still all about in this forest." He notices Bug, taking an all too familiar pose with the native child. Reminds me of my Sensei. It would be good to have such a master with us... He then goes back to passively watching the tree lines for danger, hand on his hilt.

"Come on, Gelectrode, hold it still! I can't hit it while it's wiggling around like that!" Cho complains, completely ignoring that her missed throw had gone a lot wider than the poor weird had any control over. As Gelectrode struggles with the electric rodent, Cho walks a little closer, hoping that her terrible throwing skills would be offset by proximity, and throws a second pokeball. The mouse manages to slip out of Gelectrode's grasp, but instead of fleeing chooses to taunt the weird. Cho winds up while charging and just manages to hit the mouse with the Pokeball. It wiggles on the ground for a few seconds, before the light on the front of it fades out. Cho hears the word "Pichu" in the back of her mind, almost as if she had known it her whole life.
The child listens to Bug while watching the insect flying around in front of him. Emboldened by Bug's encouragement, he begins to try a different tactic. The insect watches with curiosity as the child climbs a tree.
An older man, curious about the group of people that had gathered about the entrance of the forest, shuffles towards the group. As he approaches, it is clear the cane he is using is his primary support in staying upright.
"You fellows look like an exotic lot. Got some spiffy looking Pokémon too. Must be them special Delta breeds I heard the kids yapping about a while back. What brings you to these woods here?"

Bug takes his eyes off the child for a moment to greet the old man with a smile. "Bug is here with friends to catch pokemon to pass test!" He nods affirmatively and turns his attention back to the young boy as he continues. "Bug is also offering advice Bug once received in Living Forest. Bug is long way from Home, but is enjoying new experiences!"

Ori'cos chuckles at Bug's response to the elder man. "We be just a wanda-ing groupa Travleas tryin out dis 'traina' gig. We be a bit new ta da ways but." ori'cos gives the impression of jest in his tone of voice. "Always willin ta learn traditions of new places" Ori tells the man as Jamuraa climbs up and nestles into the large part of Ori's crook.
