The boy jumps down from his branch. He winces as he lands hard, seeming surprised at his weight. He's lucky, though, that the branch wasn't that high up. On the ground, she gets a good look at him--at the soft, snowflake pattern lightly tracing his clothes. He holds...not a branch, like she'd thought, but a staff of some kind, with a curving top.
"I...I don't know." He says, looking at her with a sort of wonder. "I've never had someone see me before! Well...except the spirits. But you don't seem like a spirit...?" He walks around her, looking her over. His expression is barely contained excitement. "What's your name?"

"I don't think I'm a spirit...At least I hope I'm not..." Isabelle replies slowly, looking over her hands as she said it. She didn't think she was a spirit, but she certainly wasn't normal.
"Oh! My name is Isabelle. I'm the Mayor's secretary, and they were supposed to arrive at my town soon. I'm very, very late." Isabelle explains, starting off very happily, and progressively getting sadder. Cookie barks in agreement.
"What about you? What do you do? And...what's the staff-thing for?" She asks, curious as to what the boy was up to. Perhaps he's from around here and he could help her! If he wasn't...Maybe she could convince him to travel with her? There is safety in numbers, after all.

The boy seems excited and nods. "It's so nice to meet you, Isabelle!" He says, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Who is the mayor? What town are you supposed to arrive at? When were you supposed to be there?" He asks in a quick fire. Her returned questions make him flush, cheeks...turning a pale blue, actually.
"I'm Jack, by the way. Jack Frost!" He lifts on the top of his feet, seeming almost like he'll lift off! But he doesn't, of course. "I make it snow! And play games with the children--not that they know, of course. And..." He trails off, looking at his staff. "I...don't know. I've always had it." He twists it in his hands and finally shrugs.

"The mayor is, well...I don't actually know their name yet. And...the town hasn't got a name yet, either...The Mayor was supposed to name it when they got here! I was supposed to be there a few days ago. Four, in fact. I was going there and, well, I woke up here instead!" Isabelle explains, a little embarrassed that she didn't know the name of her town or the name of the Mayor. She should know those things, but for some reason, she doesn't. How odd.
"That sure sounds like fun! Why don't children know you're around, though? Can they not see you?" She asks, a bit confused about the boy. He reminds her a bit of Jack or Jingle, but he seems...different, somehow.

The boy tilts his head. "You...got a mayor before you named your town...?" He asks, blinking. "Doesn't that usually happen the other way around? Why didn't the residents name it?"
He pauses. "Are there residents?"
"And no, they can't. Nobody ever has--until you, or the spirits." He smiles, but it's a fragile, sad thing. "But it's okay! Because you can see me!" He twirls around her, laughing cheerfully.
"You're already late, you know!" He says, his smile widening. "You can't get in any more trouble! Stay here! Let's play a game!"

"I'm...not sure. That's just how it's always been, I guess! That's how all of my sister's towns got named, at least." Isabelle remarks. She'd never really thought about it before. Why didn't they all just name their own towns?
"There are plenty of residents, like Cookie and Chester," Both Cookie and Chester perk up after hearing their respective names. "No, no! Not you! There's another Cookie and Chester!"
Isabelle then starts rattling off names. "There's Digby, he's my twin brother, and there's Blathers, and Euguene, and Drago, and Felicity..." She trails off.
"A game? What sort of game? Like Hide and Seek?" Isabelle asks. She's always loved a good game!

"Did your name your friends after your friends back home?" He asks, tilting his head. "Won't that get confusing, when you get home?"
His expression goes pensive as she asks about the game. "I've never played a game with someone who knew I was playing before! Hide and seek sounds fun!" He says happily. "You and...Cookie and Chester, was it? And Santa can play!"
He brushes his hand against his other wrist, pushing back the fabric of his hoodie. As he does, he glows for a second before that glow shifts from around him and forms a small shape. The light dims, and Isabelle stares at a small bird holding a sack. "Bird!" It says cheerfully, waving.
"Only, don't tell the real Santa that I named /him/ Santa, okay?" Jack says, rubbing the back of his neck. "It was kind of an accident and now he won't respond to anything else. I don't think Old Saint Nick would appreciate it, though..."

Isabelle laughs. "Aren't you doing the same thing?""I used to play Hide and Seek with my sisters and brothers, but we all grew up and started working in different towns. I haven't played it in a while. It'll be fun! I'm sure Cookie and Chester want to join in too, right?" She asks, turning to her pokemon. Cookie barks happily, then gets up and runs in a circle. Someone really wanted to play! Chester on the other hand, just looks up from licking his hands and nods. Isabelle didn't want to discourage him, but Chester might be a bit big to hide properly. "Do you want to hide first or seek?" Isabelle asks, keeping on the lookout for good hiding spots while she talks. Jack nods. "Yes...It wasn't intentional..." He says, flushing blue. "He won't accept a new name!" The bird in question stands near Cookie and peers down at the dog. He pulls his sack over and opens it, pulling out a handful of blue berries, and holds them out to the dog. Jack thinks. "I'll...hide! I'm good at that, I think!" He laughs, and the pair dart off into the trees. Santa looks around, drops the berries, and waddles over behind a tree, where it presses its face into the bark, the edges of its body clearing visible. Isabelle...doesn't think she'll have difficulty finding this one! (And when she searches, it turns out that blue and white stand out reasonably well in the green forest as well--Jack's hiding spot is between some large roots at the base of a tree, and he sticks out. Understood, I was just rolling perception first because I didn't know if I was hiding or seeking. Admittedly, I don't quite get my reasoning now, but that's why I shouldn't post at 5 Am Apologies. Stealth for Isabelle: uDSgdaLe2d6Stealth for Cookie: 3d6+1Stealth for Chester: 2d6Cookie sniffs the berries, and eats them. After eating, she nods and gives a single bark as thank you. Isabelle looks over, and upon noticing what the bird is doing, she smiles. "Thank you, Santa! You remind me of my friend Jingle. He hands out presents, too!"
When the two run off to hide, Isabelle quickly notices Santa. She walks over and taps him. "Found you!"She then scans the area, and notices something blue at the base of a tree. She goes to investigate further, and realizes it's Jack! She taps him as well, to let him know that she's found him. "I found you, too!"2d6·3d6+1·2d6

Jack unfolds from his curled up position and seems delighted. "You did!" He says. "Now you!" He presses his face against a tree, Santa at his side, and they wait.

Isabelle puts her hand on her hips and furrows her brow. "Let's see if I can find her!"Isabelle's Perception: 9L0zYHGL4d6+1 After a few minutes of searching, Isabelle gives up. "Okay Cookie! You win!" She yells, and the dog runs out from a bush, stopping at Isabelle's feet. She pets Cookie's head and smiles at her. For a pink dog, she could certainly hide! "So, do you mind me asking why you're here, or how you got here? Sorry, if that's too personal!" Isabelle says sheepishly. What if he gets mad?! She really didn't want to risk hurting his feelings, but it has to be done. Probably. She steels herself and asks, "D-Do you think we could...maybe work together? I don't know this place very well, and I just thought..."

Jack attempts to help search, but has no luck at all. He ends up sitting back, leaning against a tree with his arms crossed. "She's so /bright/ though," he mutters, squinting at the dog as it reappears. He shakes his head.
"And, I dunno, no reason to /not/ be here. Uh. Where ever...here is...anyway..." He narrows his eyes looking around. "It's funny, I could have sworn that I was in Africa a few days ago, and I don't remember leaving, but this certainly isn't it."
He tilts his head. "I guess I'm here because the Wild dropped me off here, and won't let me ride anywhere else. So it must want me to here!"
He seems surprised at Isabelle's next question. He smiles wide. "Of course! I wouldn't /leave/ the first person who can see me!" He pushes off from the tree, light on his feet. "Where are we going?"

"Africa? Is that a town?" Isabelle asks, a little confused. She's never heard of an "Africa" before... "I guess we're off then! Wait, actually, I'd like to make a few notes first." She says, taking her pencil and paper out of her pocket. Isabelle makes a few notes on Jack and Santa for later use. It's become a bit of a habit now to write down everything about everyone, but it could prove to be useful. "Alright! Now I'm ready to go! Hmmm...Where to go, where to go..."
Isabelle tries to think about places that might help her, but she keeps thinking back to her town. She could be catching bugs, digging up fossils, and fishing right now. Wait! Fishing! "I can fish! Maybe I can get us some food! Chester, do you know any lakes, or at least somewhere to get food?" Isabelle spends 2 AP to make a Record of Jack and Santa.

"A town?" Jack raises an eyebrow. "Of course not. It's a continent. You don't get out much, do you?" He asks with a laugh, following Isabelle as Chester starts waddling off into the greenery. Chester seems more than happy to seek out food sources--and he doesn't seem like he'll be stopping any time soon. In fact, if Isabelle doesn't stop him, Chester will walk for over an hour--at which point Isabelle realizes they must have gotten turned around again, because they emerge back into the clearing she first woke up in! The hot pool still fills the clearing which fog--but while they were gone, the clearing seems to have attracted company. Two tan colored monkeys of some kind inhabit the clearing--one splashing loudly in the steaming pool, and the other sitting not far away, chewing on a bright blue berry--one that seems to have stained its fur, actually, as it carries more of a blue tint to its fur than a tan one. The one in the water stops splashing as they appear, staring at them cautiously. The berry holder shoves the rest of the fruit in its mouth and rises to its feet, fur puffing up threateningly.

"Chester! This is just where we started!" Isabelle says before noticing the monkeys. She shrinks back a bit as the monkeys puff up and stare. Maybe she could convince them that she and her friends aren't there to hurt them? "We aren't going to hurt you! We...uh...just want some food!" Isabelle nervously explains. Chester will frown at Isabelle, and point towards the other side of the clearing. It only stops walking when she does. Jack trails in after Isabelle and seems unconcerned by the angry monkeys, looking at the hot water with a bit more interest. "Huh. Usually only see those around volcanoes. I wonder if that's something we should be concerned about?" He muses.
The monkeys, if anything, seem more upset at the mention of food. The one with the berry chews mightily, letting out a noise of irritation. But the one in the pool, after squinting at their group, doesn't make to move from it's spot in the water. The one with the berry presses back against its tree. They watch the group carefully, and might puff or rise if they're approached, but Isabelle seems to at least convinced them that she's not a threat.

"That does sound a bit odd.." Isabelle responds. Volcanoes, huh? It wouldn't be good to be around one of those. Especially when it erupts. Maybe this isn't the best area to camp? Even though she's terribly afraid of getting in a confrontation with the monkeys, she asks Chester to continue on and lead her to whatever food he was pointing at. While she does that, she tries to make herself as small and non-threatening as possible. If she doesn't look or act like a threat, hopefully she won't get attacked. The monkeys let the group through without making a problem, though they do watch carefully with narrowed eyes. As long as the group doesn't move towards them, they don't seem bothered. It's very likely that Isabelle would have easily left the clearing--and in fact, still could, even when Jack himself walks forward unconcerned and crouches near the one in the water. His expression widens in surprise when the monkey takes offense at being approached, launching itself out of the water in Jack's direction. He stumbles backwards, landing on his butt, and Isabelle watches as he throws out a hand between himself and the rampaging monkey and a blast of snow arches out from his palm. In his surprise, it goes high into the air, missing the monkey but seeming to incense it. The other circles around his back. "H-hey!" He says, trying to keep an eye on them. "I, uh, guess y-you can see me too?" He laughs nervously. To join combat, list initiatives for combatants! If you're taking actions in a first round of combat, list them in your next post as well.

"Jack! Are you alright?" Isabelle cries out in a mixture of concern and confusion. What was that snow blast he let out?! She'd have to wait to answer that question, though, because he was in trouble. If someone's in trouble, she can't just sit around doing nothing! "Ummm...Chester? Go help out, please!" She shakily orders. Isabelle isn't one for fights. Thinking back, she can't remember many times she's ever been confrontational. Orders were new to her as well. As a secretary, she was normally the one given orders, not the one giving them. Chester nods, apparently understanding. Chester's initiative is 5, and Isabelle's initiative is 6.
On her turn, Isabelle will use Inspired Training on Chester.
On Chester's turn, he will attempt to use Tackle on the Pokemon behind Jack.
