The group rounds the corner as the sun is just beginning to set. The bickering sound you heard is coming from a pair of young teens, a boy and a girl, dressed in camping attire. They seem to be playing tug of war right near a lake's edge over a fishing pole. A large bucket is at their feet, and an unlit campfire is assembled next to some well constructed tents.
"Jim, it is MY turn! You've been at it over an hour now, and you haven't caught ANYTHING!"
"That's because you keep talking and scaring all the fish away Olivia! Shut up!"

Mae puts her fingers to her temple.
"That's it? Bickering over a fishing pole?"

Holly doesn't understand this fighting over a fishing pole, so she decides to just keep on walking.

Mae turns to Marcus.
"Outside of merely saying 'What you are fighting over is pointless', I agree with Holly on this one."

"It's none of our business true, but the sun is setting. We may as well see if they're ok to group up for the night, and possibly share food. We are safest in numbers." Marcus says to Mae.

"Oh yes, we have to 'camp', don't we? Alright if we must interact."

The teenagers have set up camp in a very secure area. Although it is open to the sky, high walls on two sides keep the wind fairly manageable. Opposite the side you're entering from, a small river snakes by, which is where the boy's line is cast. He has his back to you, but Olivia spots you as you approach and suddenly releases her grasp on the pole, causing Jim to fall back and to the ground, crashing into his bucket of bait, and toppling it over and into the river.
"Damnit Olivia! There goes any chance of catching anyth-"
"Shutup idiot, we have company!"

Mae walks up to the two of them, and speaks in a clearly mocking monotone voice.
"Oh no. Now that there isn't any bait, you can't argue over a foolish thing like a fishing rod anymore. What will you ever do?"
Mae turns to Marcus and Holly.
"I'm going to set up my bag over nearby. You may try convincing these two to share the spot, or maybe Holly could scare them into doing it. Or away. I don't really care either way."
Mae doesn't wait for an answer before pulling out a sleeping bag, which Sync floats forward to roll it out before Mae gets a chance to do it herself.
"Sync... really? I can roll out a sleeping bag myself."
Sync bleeps and boops back at Mae, in an almost chastising tone.
"Yes I know we haven't tried sleeping outside yet, but I got a thermal bag just for that reason, and either way it doesn't give you permission to act like my mother."
The Porygon chimes back, and the two go back and forth for a while.

The girl regards Mae blank-faced, and the boy looks up from his fallen over position in shock. Both are more than a head taller than Mae, but if their reactions are any indication, her aggressive assertiveness has cowed them entirely. The girl starts to protest, but stammers a bit before giving up.
The water starts to churn, as though the sudden influx of bait has drawn a swarm of fish in the water.

Marcus sighs and shakes his head before walking up to the strangers.
"Hi, I'm Marcus. That's Holly, don't touch her sword, and the crouchy girl is Mae." He pauses and looks at the water. "Are there Carvanha or something in these parts? Because that looks like it could turn into a feeding frenzy."

Mae turns, stopping the conversation with Sync.
"I am not grouchy. I do not 'get' grouchy. This is normal me."

Noticing that the other two have stopped moving for some reason, Holly stops as well, confused as to why they suddenly decided to stop. She waits to see what they do next.

Jim gets up, and Olivia inches behind him to peek around at you. Jim says "Umm, yeah, I think there can be, but more than likely these are just regular fish eating all our bait."
Marcus looks more closely at the water and sees a number of distinct species swimming about.
(Marcus, and anyone else staring at the water, make a Perception check.)

Marcus tilts his head. "Do you have a net? That'd probably be enough to grab a few fish."2d6

Mae ignores the group of them and continues to set herself up, seemingly done with the conversation between her and Sync. If the porygon2 was 'ready' to finish the conversation or not is another thing entirely.

"Ummm, a net, a net, shoot! That's what we forgot! I have pokeballs!"
He readies one in the air in an exaggerated pose. You notice Olivia also draws out a pokeball. The fish continue to swarm about, each one indistinct from the other in the poorly illuminated mass of flesh.

Marcus releases Fulgora and steps closer to the river, trying to see what pokemon were there. His Tynamo 'swims' through the air, staying by his side.

As Marcus gets closer, he gets a better view of the chaotic group of fish in the water, although they are moving far too quickly to get any sort of read on them. (Le sigh poor Perception) There appear to be a veritable horde of one species, a red and white blur of movement. There is a single dopey fish that is moving about quite lazily through the water. It is a mottled greyish yellow color and looks quite hideous to behold. Finally, there is...something else, nearly translucent, but it does its best to evade your vision, ducking in and out of the swirling mass of red and white.
It seems as though the fish are nearly satiated. If anyone wishes to catch any of them, they had best do so quickly! Jim and Olivia both throw their balls, and hit water and fish respectively, causing Olivia to gloat at the embarrassed Jim before looking pensively to see if the ball was secured.
Mae, in your pocket, your dex begins to vibrate. It seems you have a call!

Finally deciding to see what all the commotion is about in the water, a curious Holly strolls over to see what's going on in there.
Perception LmoCx1C62d6
After having had the sneaky fish pointed out to her by Marcus, Holly does what she does best, and tries to hit it to see what it does. She throws a punch at where she believes it will move to next, and a burst of ghostly energy extends from the shadow cast by her arm into the water, striking the thing hard.

After pointing out the fish, Marcus takes a surprised step back as Holly strikes at the fish. He scans the unconscious pokemon and blinks. "Well that was sudden. Should we eat this?" He asks the others, turning around.
