While he couldn't pinpoint the source of the urge, Ulrich felt very much like involving himself in the conflict. The best place would probably be between Rosebud and the horde, even if it had the downside of covering that Dunsparce' escape... Didn't he realize they needed to pacify these attackers? Or, more to the point, that if not hurting the fools was his goal, Vorp was very much counter to it. But no matter! Let him run, they would quell these rebels soon enough. Probably before they could harm vital components of the Project... Once he was in place, Ulrich allowed the Yamask to attack the people ahead as it saw fit. Which translated into a feeling of minor animosity quite unlike his previous incident, and a peculiar sensation that he could only hope was harmful to those assembled before them. It... really didn't feel like it, but they hadn't done all that many tests on attacking humans. For... what should be obvious, if regrettable reasons. If only they'd known this was in their future! Ulrich uses Night Shade on Horde 1. AC2 - 1... Damage equal to the User's Level (30) on a hit.

(Stack Resolution Vorp Slashes Horde 1 which connects for 36 Physical Damage after defenses and effectiveness, takes no damage from Sandstorm. Jacob Torments for a tick of damage and suppression, takes no damage from Sandstorm. Horde 1 attacks Vorp, Gunshow, Jacob, and Three, Takes damage from Sandstorm, and Damage from Rough Skin. Horde 2 Attacks Bill and Hugh, grapples Delilah, Takes damage from Sandstorm. Fires a Pokeball at Vorp. Gunshow Low Sweeps Horde 1 for 30 Physical Damage after defenses and effectiveness. Gunshow thins the horde! Takes a Tick of Damage from Sandstorm. Three Glares Horde 1 for Paralysis. Takes a Tick of Damage from Sandstorm. Rosebud uses Confidence, boosting allies Defense +1 CS within Burst 5. Ulrich Misses Horde 1 With Night Shade. Hugh Misses Horde 2 With Strength. Bill Struggles against Horde 2. Delilah attempts to break out of a grapple.) The security forces, at Jacob's instruction begin to make a push towards the lone figure, distracting him enough to make his shot go just barely wide of the dragon. There was no mistaking it though, that item... the munition of choice. It was something that had been long since retired. Forgotten as worthless. It rattled and bounced off of the habitat truck, brushed along by the sandstorm. Lowering the weapon, Jacob got the distinct impression that he had struck a nerve, and had the man's full attention now. Moments drew on in a staredown before the other turned to bolt. Hugh's size seemed to be enough to deter some of the crowd, but not all, from entering *his* stage, as he had so put it. Back and forth they went, the scrawnier fighters not daring to get too close for fear of those powerful arms. Though as they baited the guard forward, they pressed in to flank him. Bill made a comment to the effect of 'Fuckin' kids!' before taking a solid hit to the mouth, his entire forehead and face going bright red for it. Nearby, Delilah was doing her best, but had already been lifted off her feet. It seemed their opponents had several objectives in mind that day. In the habitat truck, things seemed a little more under control. The Pokemon were handling themselves as well as could be expected to hold the invaders at bay, though Vorp in his bloody pass had accrued several welts and scrapes, the crowd began to disperse a little after the dragon, and fighting type's impressive displays.

"You little apes! I'll tear off your head and SPIT down you necks!" Hugh roars, turning aside one combatant with a flick of his bitch-slapping hand. Things were going poorly now all around him, but he was not going to allow himself to worry. He was a island of solitude, of manliness in a sea of- Oh Captain, my captain! They were taking Deliah! His pupils shrunk with white hot muscley rage. Oh no they don't. Ooooh no they don't! Not on his watch! Not on his stage! Tilting back his neck, he screamed vicious war scream, and dove forward toward his ward. His fist swings mightily through the air, cutting it as he dove into action. Not today terrorists! He would save her; one way or another! --- Gunshow grunts, popping down one of the horde's number with a quick swipe of his hand. It had been too long since he had a chance to test his muscles. Deflecting the body of one of his attackers, he turned to seek the other opponents around him that could actually hit him. Raising up one arm, he prepares a strong strike for anyone who might hurt him to be hurt in return. Hugh uses Sky Punch!!
AC 4 - Rolled an 8. Hit! Hugh will activate Pummeling Momentum as well.
---
Gunshow uses Revenge!
AC 2 - Rolled an 11. Hit! Does fluctuating damage depending on whether someone hits him. Both have been rolled.
Hit. 53
No hit. 43
His Physical Evasion is now 4, thanks to Rosebud.

Looking around, what Evan sees is just things breaking down. People getting hurt. More particularly, people getting hurt at the hands of scientists. Just at a quick glance, this wasn't something that would be winnable for them... so while tenacity was good, throwing themselves at the rough skin of Vorp was not going to be a good idea. "I said, get back!" he snaps again, rearing up once more and (not-at-all intimidatingly) attempts to flare his wings, eyes glowing with a bright light this time. Whoa, that felt weird... Evan thinks, feeling a little bit lightheaded, before curling up to try and make it go away. At least the sand doesn't seem to be hitting as hard. He's not quite sure why that is, but he's glad. Three uses Spite, via Spiteful Intervention. Horde 1's Slam is disabled.
Three uses Defense Curl. +1 Def CS, and 5DR, via Normal Strategist.

Perhaps Ulrich had been too distracted, on his previous attack. But now, what with their Project Head in peril, they couldn't afford more distractions! Focusing this time, Ulrich tries attacking, himself, since the Yamask was evidently not serious about their situation. At least now, there was a definite effect! Although... in his excitement at having successfully made an attack, he might have neglected to aim said effect. Ulrich uses Ominous Wind on Horde 1. AC2 - 3 (4, with Luck Incense?) DB8 - 31 Special Ghost damage, single-target

Jacob watched the shot go against the habitation truck, and what rolls to the floor did the impossible. It put even more anger into his fucking chest, staring horrible daggers at the man who shot it and locking eyes through a blistering sandstorm. Hugh could snap spines, crush humans like cans, but Jacob could put the fear of god into a man with just those bright piercing eyes. He ran, what a fucking coward. But looking at the scene, he takes in the surroundings, his mind racing and making his decisions on a dime. It was as if time slowed, his anger running wild in his chest, but it felt like he was directing. Directing a cacophony of rage and screaming. But his eyes caught the fly in the ointment. Delilah. "Security, turn your attention back to the the science truck, protect Professor Delilah! One of you go and disable the machine. Vorp! Put them all to bed in your Sand Tomb!".
Watching one of the culty fucks come up to the group, he sees the girl and gets a horrible horrible idea. "And the rest of you!!". Grabbing her wrist, he pulls her in, making a great show of pulling her into the most heated and passionate kisses a man had ever shared with a woman on the other side of conflict. Passion, regret, masculinity, sensitivity, and a deep longing for peace all translated through his lips. It's too much for her, and she goes completely limp, the young man spinning her back out to arms length and letting her crumple to the floor, standing above the crowd with a thumb slowly cleaning the lipstick off his fair face. Such a sweet heartfelt kiss, one he hopes reaches them.

(Stack Resolution Vorp Sand Tombs Horde 1 which connects for 12 Physical Damage after defenses and effectiveness, takes no damage from Sandstorm. Jacob Sweet Kisses Horde 1, inflicting Confusion, takes no damage from Sandstorm. Horde 1 attacks Gunshow, and Jacob, Takes damage from Sandstorm. Horde 2 Attacks Bill and Hugh, begins to disengage with Delilah, Takes damage from Sandstorm. Gunshow Revenges Horde 1 for 29 Physical Damage after defenses and effectiveness. Takes no damage from Sandstorm. Three Spites Horde 1, Disabling Slam. Takes no Damage from Sandstorm. Rosebud uses Grassy Terrain, All targets touching the ground recover a tick of hitpoints each round on their turn. Ulrich Ominous Winds Horde 1 for 10 Special Damage after defenses and effectiveness. Hugh Sky Uppercuts Horde 2 for 23 Physical Damage after defenses and effectiveness. Bill is knocked out by Horde 2. Delilah attempts to break out of a grapple. Security is reinforcing Hugh, increase effectiveness of his next attack by 1 step!)
The skirmishes continue to rage on, Jacob's display inciting the offenders to some degree of hesitation while inciting others. Gunshow's revenge is met with force in kind, and Bill crumples into a heap before he has a chance to retaliate. Things seemed to be going so well, but even now Delilah's frantic cries come from a group that had splintered from the rest, carting her towards the opposing security line.
(Bill takes 33 Normal Physical and Faints, Gunshow takes 50 Normal Physical, Jacob takes 28 Normal Physical, Hugh is missed. This is before defenses/resistances.)

Evan's awkwardly attempting not to get hit, while also trying to think of a way to end this without more injuries, when he hears Rosewood's cries. They catch his attention, unlike Hugh's cries of battle, and he looks over. And sees the day's director being carted off. He almost dismisses it, but, regardless of how much of a right people have to protest, and how disproportionate this violent retribution is... kidnapping is still a step too far. "I'll be back," he mutters to Rosebud, before slithering off towards the absconding abductors. For once, his wings seem to help (minutely), helping to propel him further away as he leaps off the platform... or maybe that's just him being much smaller and closer to the ground than usual. Ow... that wasn't very graceful. he thinks, landing on the ground, Well, getting back up might be a problem. I'll cross that bridge later, if it doesn't burn.Reorienting himself, and mentally brushing himself off, he continues darting towards the kidnappers, before slamming into them, unable to stop. Uh, maybe that'll get them to drop her? Yeah, right.Evan uses Pursuit, as an Interrupt, hitting the kidnappers (16 vs AC 2) for 36 Physical Dark Damage. *meep meep*

Amid the hub-bub of the crowd, the roaring of their mighty warriors, and the cries of Vorp's victims, Ulrich didn't notice their Carnated non-researcher slip away, nor leap (quite literally) to Rosewood's aid. It was just as well, though, he was in a better position to guard Rosebud at the moment. To that end, he directed another attack into the Horde, admitting that their combined tenacity, at least, was somewhat impressive. Still supremely annoying, but that they would keep throwing themselves forward meant they must be serious about their objective? Or that they all lacked a sense of self-preservation. Ulrich uses Hex on Horde 1. AC2 - 7 DB9 - 34 Special Ghost damage IF I can have triggered the conditional Damage Boost, instead deal 50 damage.

Torn, Hugh looked in both direction. Those damn punks were making off with the professor! A kidnapping! Dastardly! Dastard bastards! Dastardly bastardly, bastards! His eyes muscles twitched with rage and excitement. Aha! They were proving to be worthy adversaries! How long had it been since his blood had pumped so!? The crowd of security swelled forward, nightsticks in hand as they engaged the horde of men. They wouldn't stand a chance either before long. They too needed his help. Everyone needed it. Bill was now on the ground bleeding. He had to keep these mongrels occupied for one more round, and then catch those snakes. Danger spittle leaked from the side of the his mouth and into his beard. This was something that he could manage. "WRAHAHAHAAA!" Hugh dives forward, rocketing his fist skyward as deckd another fool who had sought to get in his way. As his fist connects, his eye scan backwards towards the kidnappers and... And... That little... "EVAAAAN!" Hugh roars. He arcs his fist back, priming another missile for the muscle launcher. It was time to move with the force of all of his manly muscles. --- Gunshow grunts. Between the sand and the attacks, he was now inching closer towards the red. Ah! What a wonderful feeling. It had been so, so very long that he got to stretch like this! But, his friends needed help. He couldn't focus on the lovely sensation of battle for long. For now, he methodically struck back with a sweeping motion to kick out the legs of his opponents once more. Hugh punches the horde.
AC 4, rolled a total of 18 with bonuses. That's a clean hit!
Damage - 55
Priority has been declared for next round.
---
Gunshow sweeps the first horde!
AC 2 - Rolled 16
Damage - 40

Jacob sees everything happening and nearly snaps his teeth for real at the feel of hands against him. Having all these people in his space is spine aching. It nearly hurts to have all these hands grabbing at him in a negative way, coupled with the actual pain of the hands. But he shoos a few people off him, just in time to see Rosebud starting to waste another hit of his great healing power! It's a let-down, something that could be used for later to get them all back to 100%, but it's appreciated all the same, feeling that familiar warmth on him. But it just puts him right back into overdrive, turning to torment the crowd. "You struggle in vain against us!? You'll be punished for hurting my friends! You think you're the heroes, but you're all the villains! Impatient children! You could have just supported us, and I would have put you on the planet in a mere YEAR, and you could have all had your own adventures! Your own pokemon! You selfish ASSHOLES!".
There's no time, however. They're good here, and he sees what's happening with Delilah out the corner of his eye. He can't let them take her, but they're just close enough still for Vorp to get there. "Vorp, my female! Leave the sandstorm going and use Takedown before they get too far! Sic'em!". The Dragon darts off the platform and makes an incredibly fast Beeline to the kidnappers, bringing down the sandstorm on the crew. With Rosebud's healing help, they'll be just fine, at least for awhile. With Bill down, they needed the help over there anyway.

(Stack Resolution Security Line rallies to Vorp and Subject 3, increasing their effectiveness 1 step. Vorp uses Take Down on Kidnappers for 31 Normal Physical Damage after Defense and Effectiveness. Recovers a Tick of Hp, takes Recoil Damage. Jacob Uses Torment on Horde 1. Horde 2 Uses Slam on Hugh, Critical Hit, 51 Normal Physical Before Defenses and Effectiveness. Kidnappers attempt to continue their retreat, provoking Pursuit from Three for 26 Dark Physical Damage, and a struggle AoO from Vorp. Struggle Connects for 20 Normal Physical after defenses. Kidnappers defeated! Gunshow Uses Low Sweep on Horde 1 for 15 Fighting Physical Damage after Defense and Effectiveness. Horde 1 Loses it's 6th Speed Stage. Gunshow thins the Horde! Horde 1 Struggles Against Jacob, 26 Normal Physical Damage Before Defenses and Effectiveness. Takes damage from Sand Tomb. Rosebud Uses Razor Leaf on Horde 1 for 28 Grass Physical After Defenses and Effectiveness. Horde 2 Uses Slam on Hugh, 31 Normal Physical Damage Before Defenses and Effectiveness. Ulrich Uses Hex on Horde 1 for 20 Ghost Special after Effectiveness and Defenses. Ulrich thins the Horde!. Hugh strikes Horde 2 for 45 Fighting Physical after Effectiveness and Defenses. Hugh thins the Horde!)
Through Subject Three and Vorp's combined efforts, the crowd in the process of abducting Delilah disperses into the custody of security forces pressing in with their assault. Delilah breathes, but doesn't stir, bruising marring a few visible spots on her fair skin. The battle on the habitat truck rages on, the crowd thinning more and more as they lose the will to fight. Hugh's personal battle, assisted by the security forces raged on heated and true. His war cry one of his co-worker's names ringing through the sandstrewn air. Rosebud's Grassy Terrain makes tolerating the blistering weather a little less painful.

Upon careening into the kidnappers, Evan notices that the bell Three had taken a liking to - and he had subsequently put around the snake's neck - actually rings, with a clear pure sound. Odd, he could've sworn the thing was broken, which was why it was just lying around in his junk drawer. No matter, there are more pressing things to do. Like make sure that the professor is still alive. Much as they might have had their disagreements, she was probably the least bad choice for heading the project. Nudging her, he confirms, yes, she is still alive, but, no, she is probably not moving. Since he doesn't really want to be anywhere near Vorp, Evan decides to try his darndest to get back onto the platform. Jumping, and getting a little lift from his wings (apparently they're good for something... barely), he manages to make it onto the platform, where he sees Hugh still bashing peoples' heads together. "You know, it would be really smart if you guys decided to run away right now," he sighs, wincing. Not that anyone could understand him. "Well, it would've been smarter several minutes ago." Not really expecting it to help, he rears up, and glares at them. Maybe he can get his point across that way, if he channels his inner irritation at how stupid these people were being. Dunsparce uses Glare on the horde by Hugh: 20 vs AC2. A critical hit. Not that it matters. The horde is paralyzed.

The gathered attackers had maneuvered their way closer to Rosebud than Ulrich would have liked, but he was nonetheless pleased to note how much thinner their ranks were. It seemed plucky (and foolish) determination was no match for them! Really, they should have known that sooner... Early surrender would have spared them quite a bit of trouble. But give up, they did not. Perhaps they'd spout some nonsense about 'not knowing the meaning of the word', or another ridiculous phrase? Incapacitating them accomplished the same goal, so it wasn't as though it mattered. On that note, Ulrich gathered his focus again, to continue his supernatural assault on the troublemakers. Ulrich uses Ominous Wind on Horde 1. AC2 - 13 DB8 - 34 Special Ghost damage

The fight rages on, like the fires behind Hugh's eye sockets where the brain should be. Ah! What beauty. He watches as his carefully crafted punch was squandered by the pair of Vorp and Evan rescuing the professor in his stead. But, while he could have been angry, he was somewhat proud of Little Evan standing up for himself. He had not thought the skinny little one capable of it! But now was not the time for such advanced thoughts. His mind turns swiftly back to the battle at hand, and like a tiger, he punches another foe straight in the jawbone with great force and joy. What a day to be alive! --- "Choke." Mutters the Gunshow, raising his arm like a Romanesque gladiator as he prepares to take another hit for the team. This next one was going to pack a wallop. But what was he to now that the enemy was so slow? It felt almost bad picking on those who were so weak of legs. Gunshow would ponder this later, after this threat had been dealt with. Hugh punches the horde with Mach Punch!
AC 2, rolled a total of 18 with bonuses. That's also a clean hit!
Damage - 45
This has priority. ---
Gunshow prepares Revenge!
AC 2 - Rolled a 9. Again?
Damage - 45
Damage if struck 66

Vorp's eyes were nearly glad over in matte predatory black at this point. Blood dropping in rivulets off his sharp scale and throught his many natural weapons. The only thing he could hear the racing heartbeats of the defeated, and Jacobs voice over the din of primal warfare. This wasn't a hunt, it was a fight for territories, and this was part of his...partners chosen females. He could hear Jacobs voice out of the Frey again.
"Vorp! Good job! Quick, end the sandstorm and get back here, we'll end this lot and rout the rest!" He called. Vorp raised his fins and let out a feral roar, a hard flap downwards and every grain of sand stopped in midair, slowly starting to fall as the dragon ran back to the side of the truck, his tail blazing in blue light before he turned and threw Dragon power at the horde.
Jacob was still up to his tricks, putting on his best sad and worried face for these wretches. They'd fall for him and beg his forgiveness before this was over. He called this one 'Baby eyes.'

Hugh and Three in conjunction with the security forces manage to disperse or restrain all comers on the security shuttle, while simultaneously, Vorp, Gunshow, and Ulrich put down any remaining opposition in the habitat truck. The organizing constable, a woman as they are often placed in leader and administrative roles within the gene forces, climbs up onto the platform and surveys the carnage. "Medical teams are in route... have you suffered any casualties?"
On the shuttle, Hugh's comrades in arms are all rough slaps on the back and hair tousles with their big friend. They haven't seen this sort of action in ages, and it really gets the blood flowing! Medical staff filter through the downed and begin tending to many, even as the other soldiers are pulled away for their duties. Rosewood and Bill receive priority in these ministrations without command or complaint from anyone.

Hugh was all smiles on this occasions of occasions, this battle of battles. The correct amount of praise was being lavished upon him, which was appeasing the dim beast inside who could realize that this press event went horribly, horribly wrong in many ways. Dormant, it would rest until later when filling out incident reports. Hugh despised incident reports.
For now however, he lifted his two arms and ensnared two of the guards playfully by the neck; the familiar stench of raw testosterone filling the air. "Ahaha! What a brawl! We've done our job today my boys. We've done our jobs!" He intones, reassuring himself that absolutely nothing went wrong.
But things did go wrong, and as peered over, he could see that Bill and Rosewood were both in a bad way. His gaze darkens. Had he not failed them both by allowing them to get this hurt? He should have been leaping in the way; taking blows for either one of them, but in the heat of the moment, none of these things had occurred. This profound feeling of guilt filled his massive frame and causes him to shudder.
"Little Evan. Ulrich." He said suddenly, turning towards his diminutive allies. "Return to your shuttles at your leisure. You've done well. I must check up on the Gunshow."
Without pause, he hurled himself off of the stage, long legs striding towards the habitat shelter. They too were his wards, and were anything to have happened to them, it was to be his greatest guilt.

Even without Hugh's prompting, Evan had been planning to return to the habitat module. Preferably without Vorp still in there. He finds things to be less... tense... without the lizard around.
Making his way down to the floor - softer, this time, making use of the wings on his back - he slithers back over to the habitat truck, content to see the fighting had ceased here, too. He sidles up to Rosebud, saying, "Well... that wasn't fun. By the way, if you've got any more of that life-power stuff in you, you might think of sending it over there." He jabs awkwardly with his tail towards the Professor.
