(If this thread should not belong here, please let me know and I will ask for it to be moved to an appropriate location.)
Getting straight to the point, a couple of friends and I (either 3 or 4 total players) would like to organize a light-hearted PTU game set in an era of space travel, possibly with magi-tech but regular sci-fi is perfectly okay too. We'd also like to keep bookkeeping to a low, so we don't plan on having any more than three pokemon in our teams at a given time. Other than those two stipulations, we are more than willing to cooperate with anyone who is willing to pick us up, as we fully understand that GMing is a time-consuming and arduous task, all of us having GMed at least a few times each.
We had normally wanted this to be a real-time campaign, but due to our own conflicting schedules are seeking someone to GM a play-by-post game either on this forum or the PTX forum (Mythweavers would be okay too). Pretty much all of us are very active (2 posts/day on average, but we are completely okay with slower paces), so I can confidently say that we won't leave a game hanging for weeks on end without reason.
If anyone is interested in GMing for us and would like to discuss further details, please reply here. Many thanks in advance.

I am one of these people, I am good people yes yes.
The bookkeeping isn't actually NECESSARY; I both thought it was a cool concept(limited pokemon? Get creative!) and wanted to entice our former GM into GMing for us, but he's not confident in his abilities and all our prodding has been for naught. So, we can do one, we can do as many as possible, etc. The magi-tech was also recommended for the bookkeeping reason; 'trainers' are 'summoners' with runes, bound to one because bookkeeping. As said before, regular Sci-Fi is still fun, but I really don't think modern-day or futuristic campaigns set in a magical world are explored nearly as often. Only thing I can think of is Shadowrun, really.
Anyway, yes. Active, have Skype and Discord to make a game chat outside of the forums, yada yada.

I'd be very tempted to GM this - I've got a space fantasy setting from an older D&D game I ran years ago that's pretty well developed and wouldn't be difficult to translate to a Pokemon themed universe. I started having campaign ideas the second I read that prompt. However, I don't have a surplus of free time right now, and the crunchy side of PTU can be pretty time consuming even with measures taken to reduce bookkeeping. I'd probably need a co-GM to handle statting up encounters and help run combat, so I dunno if I'd be the best choice over someone who can commit to a full GM role. It would be a slower-paced game, probably aiming for a GM post 3-4 days a week minimum, with a faster pace as manageable during combat rounds. Plus I don't know if you guys want someone who's never GMed PTU before. I also already have another campaign I'm building for my first PTU GMing experience that I don't want to abandon, and I definitely wouldn't be confident about running two games by myself right now. All that aside, if you guys find a different GM and are willing to accept another player who's not within your existing circle, I've been waiting for a soft space exploration game for quite a while. And if you don't want another party member, I'd be happy to share my setting ideas with any prospective GM if they need inspiration. Given a magitech setting, do you guys already have an idea of what kind of characters you want to play? If I ran this, you'd probably be the crew of a non-military starship, independent explorers not tied to a specific government. (Though I'd be flexible about the details if you have something else in mind.) Alien races would be fantasy inspired, somewhat along the lines of Warhammer 40k (though a bit less dark and gritty ), and I'd allow PCs to play one if they want. I have specific fluff for the more common races already hashed out, but again, fluff can bend a bit to player desires.

We're pretty chill as far as the setting specifics go - military, independent, whatever - and save for me wanting to play my beloved mechanic that I can never play because the games keep dying, I don't think the others have specific character ideas in mind. But, yeah, don't stretch yourself out too thin; focus on your original campaign baby and make your first game absolutely wondrous. <3 As far as other players, we'll see what the GM can handle and how many in our circle actually want to play or can play, then see about taking in another player or two for funsies. Maybe we can make applicants fight to the death!

Good to know. I'll prepare for a possible deathmatch. Hey, you never know, someone who has time to co-GM crunch but doesn't want to come up with all the fluffy story bits might surface! Maybe you ought to try asking on the PbPf Skype chat, too, if you haven't already. Some people might miss this thread. (Though I imagine someone willing to GM by themselves is more likely.)

If I didn't want to be a player, I'd be cool with co-GMing crunch since statting stuff up is one of my favorite things to do. It could still probably work even if I did both, but it's not an ideal situation.

Hey, you never know, someone who has time to co-GM crunch but doesn't want to come up with all the fluffy story bits might surface! Boy, have I got something for you! I'm finding myself in a very similar boat, also putting in effort to prepare my very own campaign for PTU-- planning to create a solo-focused campaign for multiple players, but procrastinating to actually get it done and ask for input. And, well, time I spend procrastinating is time I have to make lots and lots of crunch, something which I desperately need to practice and git gud at. My resource management skills need tuning. While I have to admit I'd also find it a shame not to play in the campaign myself, having a hand in building NPCs has its charm too. I'll sacrifice my lead character role in order to oil the gears. Whaddya say?
