Sibyl clicks her tongue yet again as the Psywave sails across wide across Chouette. Not quite the outcome she was looking for, Chouette didn't even get her proverbial collar felt. Nevertheless, her energy falters only slightly, as she shouts out with just as much vigour, " Go on, just hit 'em back!" It was disappointing Miri's best attack wasn't available for this though. Although she's waiting for the right opportunity... Sibyl: Inspired Training

Chouette certainly felt that one, even if it wasn't as dangerously close to one-shotting as Kat and Oscar's Pokémon had come. Isabella frowns - Miri being reduced to a no-frills slapfight might not actually be ideal considering how well Chouette can take a physical hit (not very), but it's not like either of them is spoiled for choice. "Come on, Chouette, you've got this! Peck her!" Foresight took a lot out of Chouette - better to save it for if they desperately needed the breathing room Tackle would provide. Chouette's Standard: Peck on Miri; 5 vs AC 2, 17 Physical Flying damage Isabella's Standard: Yup, Inspired Training

Sibyl is likewise not too keen on the slugfest either - Miri's ability to take physical hits is also not that great, and has reduced to only one option at this point. If only there was more to do! Fortunately, Miri's ready for the next attack, deftly swooping away and looping back in a swift motion. In any case, there isn't much else to do other than to urge Miri on and hope for the best. "Go on, just keep at it!"Sibyl: guess what?.... inspired training

Isabella bites her lip as she tries to calculate. Chouette's got access to more useful attacks than Miri at this point, but Miri is clearly physically stronger. Chouette's lagging already - that last attack got her well enough that she's holding her leg funny. No point holding a trump card back. "Don't give up, Chouette! Hypnosis!" Chouette does her best to fix her eyes on the darting Misdreavus, trying to catch her in the trance that snared Paddy. Sibyl takes a sharp intake of breath. Such a disability could turn the tide of battle. She holds her breath as Chouette tries to lull Miri, awaiting the result... She exhales with relief as Miri stay focused and calm, keeping her eyes open and staying in the fight. Sibyl pumps her fist: this chance could very well be what they need. "Nice one, but stay focused, its not over!"Sibyl: inspired training

"Oh, zut." She'd been kind of counting on that Hypnosis to hit and get her some breathing space. She's rather out of options now, especially after another hit left Chouette in obvious bad shape. "We're not out yet! Get her with your Foresight again, Chouette!" The red glow sweeps out from Chouette's eyes again, zeroing in on her elusive opponent. "Now Tackle!" Chouette throws herself full force at Miri. That should at least do some damage, if it connects. "Now pull back! Try and keep out of range!" If the move knocks Miri out of position and Chouette can outdistance her, maybe they can stay in this another round. Chouette retreats hastily, hoping Miri can't quite catch up. Now if they can just get a decisive blow in on the next round... Isabella's Standard: Inspired Training on Chouette
Chouette's Swift: Foresight on Miri Chouette's Standard: Tackle; 8 vs AC 2, 25 Normal Physical damage, Pushed 2m on hit Chouette's Shift: Run away! Retreat 4 spaces south (E5->E9)

Sibyl back off a little bit to avoid Miri crashing into her as Chouette rams into Miri with such force that it sent her flying, flipping over around in the air. Kind of weird to be worried about a ghost crashing into her, when she thought about it. She sees Chouette rapidly backing away, and acts fast, smelling the proverbial blood in the air. "Chase her down Miri! You can do it!", hoping she'll make it. Miri speeds across the air, reaching Chouette before she could attack back, then taking a dive at Chouette. Sibyl: Inspired Training
Miri: Accuracy: 15 Normal Physical Damage: 20

And that, as they say, is that. Isabella's gamble doesn't pay off - Miri catches up to Chouette, and the poor Hoothoot was already on her last wings. She goes down; Isabella winces when she hits the ground, then recalls her with a sigh. "You win. Good match. Thought I had you for a minute there."
She hooks the Pokéball back onto her belt and turns to head back toward the nurse from the Pokémon Center again. "Just not my day, I guess."

Sibyl punches the air as Miri lands the final blow. She runs up to Miri after Chouette is called back, who turns back to meet her too. Sibyl hugs Miri, saying enthusiastically, "Good job, you so did well!" She then faces Isabella, with a sympathetic smile. "Don't feel too bad; like you said, you nearly got us quite a few times. It was a close fought battle," nodding slightly, as though in agreement with herself.
She calls Miri back into the Pokeball and catches up with Isabella to head off to the Pokemon Center as well..

Isabella smiles weakly. "Thanks. Sorry, it's just... coming here's basically been one ego smash after another. First there was the andouille with his stupid cheating smuggled Pokémon, then this tournament. I would've been flattened in the first round if Kat had actually entered with two Pokémon. And I'm not really sure what I can fix about it..."
