Aislinn quick-swaps in her Houndour, which howls to raise its spirit before breathing a cloud of noxious gas at Rei/Los.

Encore Performance: Houndour used a status-class move that doesn't target foes. Encore Performance allows it another Standard Action to perform an at-will action that does not trigger encore performance.

Los seems temporarily torn between who to attack: Rei, or that nasty Houndour. Then it remembers Houndour is "technically" an ally... oh wait, but it breathed that nasty smog on it! Hmmm. Mistress Laurel wouldn't want Los attacking "allies", so it'll wait and beat up the houndour later. Or maybe just leave it hanging for foes to pick off. Either way! Back to nomming tasty girl flesh.

Both pokemon chow down on Rei and she falls in an unconscious heap. Shinpuru is also simultaneously taken out with a fire punch into the back of the 'arena' they've found themselves in. One of Rei's pokeballs opens to reveal the Hitmontop, Wir!

Clay winces when Baloo falls under Honedge's blade, and again when Rei goes down. "I hope that isn't too bad or the healers're gonna kill us." He pauses for a moment, panting, and shoots Ashley a significant look. "I know you don't believe in pulling punches, but try to remember that this is a friendly match, yeah? Do anything permanent to these two and our rematch definitely won't be friendly."
Hopefully that oblique threat doesn't add another side to this match to replace the Dark Branch girls who are rapidly falling out of it.
Speaking of, Clay spins a second apricorn ball on his finger and releases Red Child, who barks a challenge. Clay lets out a low growl. "Go for the sword. I'll handle this crew."
The two move forward almost at the same time - Clay tumbles into range to draw Wir's attention, while Red Child charges at Holly and Honedge with fire streaming from his jaws.

Clay frowns when Red Child goes down after being unable to land a hit on Honedge. That's unfortunate. But things are down to Holly and that stubborn Houndour now.
As he waves away the acrid smoke from the Houndour's attack, he considers his options for his last Pokémon. Holly and Honedge together make a difficult target to hit... not to mention that Wir does, too, as evidenced by him dodging the Talonflame's Ember. And he knows Holly still has two Pokémon to send out...
"Let's go out on a strong note, huh? C'mon, Fan!" He tosses the ball high, this time, lobbing it past Wir to release Fan in a position to face off with Holly. "Let's show Holly how much you've improved since the last time we fought, sis! Flame Wheel!"
Fan outright turns a cartwheel, the fire from her tail igniting around her fists and feet as she bears down on Holly. Meanwhile, Clay leaps up, the end of his staff moving in a swooping V as he strikes at Wir unerringly.
