"Fine fine!" Tiki then stops, and watches the big dog walk to the watering hole. It isn't as awe inspiring as the one she saw, but still pretty cool. "Whoa...See, Rei. It was slightly bigger than that!"

If it was bigger than that, maybe it was... Hmm.
Rei stops, careful of her movements, as to not agitate the big dog-pokemon.
"Even bigger? Wow. Let's just be careful around this one, ok?"
Rei leads on, giving as wide a berth as possible around the fire-type.

Tiki watches for a bit, and follows after Rei. Hmm..Where could it be? A big thing like that shouldn't be TOO hard to find. And, there had to be some ponyta around for sure. She continues to tippy toes looking for the elusive pokes.

As you're walking, you think you hear... rumbling of some kind? Looking around, you don't see anything at first, but the rumbling not only continues, but gets louder! Suddenly, just over the horizon and coming on fast, is a herd of Ponyta and Rapidash! Oh, and they're headed right for you. Best make yourselves as small as possible so they don't have to work as hard to avoid running you over.
Clay
You continue chasing after Red Child, who is hot on the trail of this slippery, bitey, invisible lizard-thing, which is currently scampering across rocks and sliding down narrow trails that only it seems to know are there to keep just ahead of the yapping fire mutt. Eventually it dives down into a den of some sort, disappearing as a family of Raticate come swarming out, running Red Child off. Cheeky lizard must have turned invisible again just as Red Child got close to the den so the disturbed Raticate would go after him first while it snuck away. The fact that going into another Pokemon's den also disguises its own scent is just a bonus.

Rei's eyes turn wide, and she quickly recalls Shinpuru to remove him from the field, while she scoops up Star and Tiki and hugs them both close, to make it easier for the two types to get around them.
"Tiki, hold onto me and don't let go!"

Tiki cheers happily as they finally show up, but quickly frowns as she is going to be trampled. She suddenly scooped up by Rei, and holds onto her. "WHOA! REI! IT'S THEM! I GOTTA GRAB ONE!"

Just as Tiki manages to wriggle out of Rei's grasp to go after them, they're already well out of reach. Even the little ones are absurdly fast. They're over the far horizon almost as soon as you can think to go after them. Guess you'll have to wait for them to stop someplace to rest. Assuming you can find them again.

As you take off running in the direction they went, you realize that adrenaline only keeps one going for so long (a fact you learned just yesterday, in fact!), and there is absolutely no way of knowing which way they went at the speed they're going. By the time you reach the 'horizon' where they 'disappeared from view', they'll probably be well over the *next* horizon, assuming they kept on running full tilt like they were.

Tiki huff, and puff, as she looks around. She can't find the ponyta anywhere, and throws a small tantrum by kicking grass. She then collapses in the grass from exhaustion.

Rei re-releases Shinpuru and runs after Tiki to where she had stopped and fell.
"I didn't even know they were that fast. I was going to throw out Raido for you but I don't even think he could catch up with that."
Rei looks around.
"At least we know they are in this area. But unless they stop there's no way we'll be able to capture one for you."

Tiki is now in bad mood, gets up when she has caught her breath, and starts walking back the way they came back towards the direction of the dog/kitty.

Team Reiki can hear barking and yipping from Red Child across the way, followed by pained yelping and him very nearly knocking what you assume is Clay down in his haste to get away from something. Drawing closer, you see its a bunch of very angry-looking Raticate that are now returning to their den that Red Child obviously stuck his face into.

Clay gathers up Red Child with a sigh, trying to get him to calm down. "See, this is what happens when you don't look where you're going when you chase stuff." Never mind that he was chasing the thing, too. At least the Raticate don't seem interested in chasing them down now that they're far enough away from the den. Clay's seen enough of Raticate not to want to be on the receiving end of those teeth.
He waves when he spots Rei and Tiki returning to the watering hole. "Hey, guys! Find anything?"
