Ferren breathed in deeply, thinking of himself and Lieze, remembering that cursed day and the one who had caused him to set off once more. With an exhale, he returned to a nearly normal state, his hair still a bright orange and his eyes a dull black, his hands tipped in talons "Lonnie, it might be best to leave this place after all. Taking a ship to sea during this storm might end up being safer then this mess"
He turned and looked around for anyone who looked like they might now there way around the area. Frowning at the chaos, he turned towards the man with his hands on two pistols "You might be right, and if so I want out. I have someone to meet on the Grand Line."

When the barmaid came back around with his drink, Colt didn't touch it for a good minute. Eventually he reached for it with his left hand, downed it in one go, and slammed it back on the table. In the process, he pinned some money underneath the empty mug--enough to cover his charges. With that his left hand returned to the grip of his pistol.
"So what're you telling me for? Door's over there," he said with a nod to the front door. After a moment's pause he started up again. "What, you think a guy like me has some kinda way to get you to the Grand Line? Do I look like some kinda Pirate Captain to you?," he asked sarcastically. Thinking about it, the long coat, the plethora of pistols...someone could confuse him for a pirate...it had even happened before. Remembering that made him slightly frustrated.
"Don't answer that. Look, even if I had a ship and a crew, you don't just go sailing off to the Grand Line easy as you please. That place will chew you up and spit you out faster than you can blink--if you can even get there to begin with. And if the place doesn't do you in, all the damn Pirates will," he said smugly. "And besides, I doubt you could even make it outta this room without your tail feathers coming untucked, much less make it to the Grand Line," he added with a smirk.
In truth, Colt had his own reasons for wanting to go to the Grand Line...but that didn't getting there any less impossible for him at the moment. And he didn't have to spare any extra concentration just to keep his shape, either.
"Either way, I'm outta this mad house before whoever decided to dump those fruits showed up. I don't plan on sticking around to find our whose fruit those used to be, and if I were you I wouldn't stick around either," he said, looking at the man. He turned his head to look at Lonnie. "Same goes for you, kid."

As Marak spoke, Gina finished removing glass from and wrapping up the last of the injured, setting her roll of gauze down in order to shake his offered hand. "Gina, and I'm sorry but I don't know. The cooks found some leftover fruit in the back, Miss Delilah said to give them out as a special treat due to the insane amount of business tonight, and then all this happened." She was clearly getting weary from all this chaos and damage. "And now one of our chefs is a turtle and most of our other patrons are various pokemon and I have no idea what to do except clean up and expect a visit from the guard about what the hell happened tonight." The barmaid sighed heavily, wiping her brow and putting away her medical supplies back in her kit. The first aid kit then disappeared into her cleavage once more, and she began making rounds around the bar, checking on everyone.
First stop was the table with the two guys and the kid from before. "I'm sorry for all the trouble tonight; is there anything I can help you all with?" She asked, gathering any leftover glasses and picking up the money.

Lonnie nods, still in Murkrow form. "Okay, we can do that. I mean, it'll be okay - if anything dangerous comes, I can just shoot i... shoot..." He trails off, looking down at his wings. Wings. Not hands. Unable-to-shoot-things wings. And, now that he thinks about it, he can't feel the weinght of his rifle on his back anymore. How do I... I can't...
Now he was starting to panic.
He quickly loses it, jumping up and down and flapping his wings wildly. "How do I change back? How do I change back?!" He yells, starting to hyperventilate.

Ferren looked at Colt and laughed a bit "It won't be my first time headed in that direction, and yeah, I figured you might have had a ship dressed like that. And trust me, Pirates aren't gonna be a problem for me. Though, if you think it's gonna be that dangerous, maybe you should come with me and help keep an eye on Lonnie. The money will be worth it" He adds the last bit and raises an eyebrow
He looks down and places a hand on top of Lonnies head "Hey...hey...calm down. Just breath in deeply and remember who you really are. That's how I turned back to normal. It'll all be okay"
Finally. he looked up at the Barmaid and smiled, holding out a hand with some money in it "I'm sorry miss but I don't think I ever got your name. Though, I was wondering if you knew the quickest path to the docks from here, I know there are always shortcuts that travelers can't seem to find"

Jin's eyes widen as this stranger gives him the incredible news. The Marines were fighting RED?! HERE?! Oh this was bad. This was VERY bad. If the Marines came inland and discovered so many new fruit users, who KNEW what they'd do? He looked to Murray, then this new man, making up his mind quickly. He couldn't let these innocent people fall prey to either Red's Crew or the Marine Scientists. In that case, there was only one thing to do.
"I'm sorry, I don't know the island's architecture very well. But wouldn't the best place to get the signal be on a boat with no interference?" With his mind made up, it was time to set the plan into motion. "Murray, you and I need to act quickly, or this is going to become a catastrophe. With so many people having eaten Devil Berries, I can only assume it was intentional. Forcing so many people to play the part of pawns in either a plan or a joke, I won't stand for it." He grimaced, looking towards the inn. "We need to get those people and get out of here. Whoever else wants to come as well. I can't see this ending well if we let either of the established sides do as they please, so we'll make our OWN force." With that he grins, a sharp tooth dangling from a cord around his neck. "That is... If you still want to come with me and shake up the world?"

"I... but... I..." Ferren's hand on Lonnie's head does a decent job of calming him down, but he still fidgets agitatedly.
Okay, remember who I am, I can do that! I'm, er, well, I'm...
Unconsciously, his wings reach up behind him. As they do, his body shifts upwards, following it. He quickly resumes his human form. The moment he finishes, he takes his rifle from his back. "I'm... I'm okay?" He looks down at his body. "I'm okay!" He looks up at Ferren gratefully. "Thank you, sir. I think I'm okay now." He finishes, hefting his rifle with an incongruous smile that calls into question whether he is, in fact, okay.
"So," he begins again, looking between Colt and Ferren, "can we find a ship now?"

"Nah, I think I've had quite enough help for one night," Colt said to the big-breasted barmaid as she took away his money.
His eye twitched slightly at Lonnie's return to form. "Well you bounce back quick...and it looks like you actually can pick up that rifle after all...go figure."
He returned his gaze to Ferren. "Pirates aren't the part that concerns me," he said confidently, flashing a wide, toothy, manic, almost...predatory smile. "It's getting there that bothers me, and as I don't have a ship, and you don't have a ship, and I doubt the kid has a ship...well, you see the dilemma," he said, his facial expressions returning to normal.
"As for me keeping an eye on you and the kid, well, do I look like a babysitter?," he asked with a smirk. "Besides, you'll have a hard enough time finding a ship off of this dirt clod, much less one headed for the Grand Line. But you and the kid have been good company, so sure, why not. Let's go see if, by some miracle, there's a ship waiting to whisk you off to the Grand Line. I might even tag along," he said sarcastically. I'm getting tired of this town anyway. No good bounties ever come by this way anyway...
"You, uh, might wanna do something about those talons of yours, though," he said smugly, standing up, the chair scraping across the floor. He reached down, shouldering his duffel bag, waiting to see if the other two would follow.

Murray very nearly has a minor panic attack when this new fellow mentions that frakking Red is throwing down so close to the island. Then the other part of what he'd said registers. The man had "No idea what they're fighting over". Several things clicked together into a horrible picture in Murray's head, though still an incomplete one. "I think that I know what they were fighting over..." Murray says slowly to the man in the obviously non-standard and non-legal Marine uniform. Gingerly, he pulls the Devil Berry out of his pouch, just enough to give the man a peek, before stowing it again. "And I agree with Jin here, you're better off being at sea if you want to make a broadcast. Because no matter which side wins, I can bet good gold they're coming here to find the cache of berries that was just distributed out to all of the patrons of the inn just now. And I doubt they're going to be happy to find out the fate of most of those berries."
Watching Jin's mind work was starting to become a slightly terrifying process as the man who would be captain launched into his plan to acquire a crew. The worst part was that he had to agree with the man, for no other reason than their backs being against the wall. He nods as Jin outlines the general plan. "I'm forced to agree with you. The main problem is that we don't have a vessel... but I happen to know of one whose crew and captain are likely partaking of the local red light district, such as it is, as well as swilling themselves senseless in cheap rum. It may take a bit of... well, forceful negotiation, but with the array of abilities showing up in that bar, we have a better than average chance to take it for ourselves."

"Oh, um, I'm Gina." Gina replied to Ferren, taking up the money and pausing while she heard everything. Getting away did sound nice, and she didn't really want to stick around for the inevitable cleanup and damage control when the Marines came by...But she couldn't just up and leave her mother and Delilah! But then again, part of her was really yearning for adventure after hearing all this.
"If you want to get to the docks, the fastest way might be the one we use when restocking; it's a small path out back from the inn that just goes straight there, behind buildings and the main roads. We'd have to go through the back of the inn, but that wouldn't be too much of an issue."

Devil berries? Traps? Now that they mentioned it, a battle with such a notorious pirate and the sudden animification of an entire bar DID seem rather strange to be just coincidence. Bailing on the island might not be that bad of an idea.
"Shaking up the world you say? Now THAT is something I can get behind!" As if on cue, the man took an eccentric pose with one hand over his ear and the other pointing towards the horizon. "DJ Pumbloom! Voice of the Revolution! Professional shaker of the norm! My voice I promise to you, in exchange for getting my ass off this island at your earliest convenience!"
Pumbloom would continue to hold the pose until specifically asked to stop, or until the two moved inside.

A small smile crossed Ferren's lips "We?" he said, tilting his head a little at Gina "Well, I won't say no to someone with medical skills, especially not during a mess like this"
He turned back to Colt and shook his head as he flexed his new talons "For now at least, I think these might come in handy. Just because none of us have a ship doesn't mean we re stuck here. I don't know about all of you, but I've been sailing most of my life, get me to some ships, and I'll get one picked out that we can take at least to the next island, and we can further discuss from there."
Gesturing towards the back of the Inn, he continued "After you Gina"

Murray heads back inside, looking over the crowd. Most of them still seem to be in the throes of figuring out their new abilities, or gathering together into small knots of conversation. Where... ah! There was a group of four that seemed to be moving with purpose, and two of them were visibly armed; a good start for what they needed to take Morgan's ship. Gesturing for Jin and DJ to follow him, he heads on an intercept course, addressing the bar maid that seems to be leading the group.
"Ah, begging your pardon, but it seems that you four are of the opinion that it's time to get while the getting's good, yes? My companions and I have come to the same conclusion, and are looking for proactive potential crew mates to assist in acquiring and crewing a ship in order to get out of the local area as soon as possible. Apparently Red himself is throwing down against a Marine fleet nearby... and I suspect the fruit we were all handed may be at the root of the matter in some way. Whatever the case, we've all decided to vacate the locale post-haste, and I happen to know of a ship that can be acquired from a rather nasty individual. If you're interested, that is."

Colt shrugged at Ferren. "You stick out like a sore thumb, but it's your funeral," he said, remarking onot his desire to keep his fingers as they are.
When he mentions stealing a ship though, Colt got a serious expression on his face, and his gaze darkened. "You planning on stealing a ship? Did I hear you right?," he asked grimly. There were two distinct clicking noises from beneath his coat, presumably the hammers of his revolvers being drawn back.
Before that conversation could go any further, though, another guy walked up and started talking. "Did you say Red? As in, Red Cap Jack, the infamous Pirate?," Colt asked with slight trepidation. The name sent a slight shiver down his spine. He's got one hell of a bounty on his head...and for good reason..., Colt thought to himself.
"So whose ship are we stealing now?," Colt asked, his demeanor a far cry from just a moment earlier.

Ferren looked at Colt when he heard the clicks "I never said steal! We would just borrow it long enough to get away from here and get our own and then we would send it back!"
When the new trio comes up and he watches Colt quickly change his opinion on stealing a boat, he rolled his eyes slightly "You changed your morals quite quick about that"
He held his hand out towards the man who was talking, Talons still out "Name is Regal Ferren, and you're right about us trying to get out of here. Gina over there is a local and happens to know a quick route to the docks, which should make finding this boat you mentioned a bit easier to get to. But, I wonder who we're taking it from as well"

Jin frowned, hearing the cocking of pistols. This didn't seem like it was going to end with everyone smiling... He looked to Murray, then around the bar. It was more than just these four people who were affected, and saving just these four because Murray thought they looked useful didn't sit right with the young seagoer. He tapped Murray on the shoulder, sighing. "They should be fine, but give me a second." With that, he moves to stand on one of the tables, focusing on the half-way form he'd been in a few moments earlier. His arms grew large, his fingers expanding into wingtips. It was odd that it felt so natural now, but it was going to serve his purposes. The area in front of him was pretty clear, so that'd work. He pulled his arms back and clapped them together in front of him, creating a large stream of wind that roared inside the building. Looking around, he grinned as he noticed at least a few eyes on him. This would work then. With a deep breath, he began shouting to all the occupants of the building.
"GOOD EVENING EVERYONE! MY NAME IS JIN MIZANO, NICE TO MEET YOU. AS YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED, SOME OF US HAVE UNDERGONE SOME RATHER SUDDEN CHANGES THIS EVENING, CAUSED BY THE FRUITS WE'VE EATEN. IN ADDITION TO THESE STARTLING CHANGES, THERE IS, IN FACT, A BATTLE BETWEEN THE CAPTAIN RED AND THE MARINES GOING ON. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I DON'T FEEL LIKE WAITING AROUND FOR WHOEVER WINS TO COME TAKE ME AND DO WHATEVER THEY WANT WITH ME. SO I'M GOING WITH MY NEW FRIENDS TO GO TAKE A BOAT. I SUGGEST EVERYONE ELSE MAKE THEMSELVES SCARCE." With that, he hopped off of the table and grinned to Murray, heading towards the door. "So, Murray, where's your ex-captain's boat docked?"

Carver watched as many people were able to shift back into their halfway form or fully back into human as he focused 'I just need hands to cook' he thought as he shifted back to his half way form when suddenly a man jumped up on a table and turned into a half chicken, before shouting about some famous pirate and Marine fighting in the harbor.
Carver scoffed "Why should I care, I'm just a chef. It's not my fault I turned into a turtle. The Marine's will probably just ask some questions, than when they find out the fruits came from here, they'll likely just shut...this...place...down." he said with a horrifying realization, grabbing the sides of his turtle head falling to his knees "Nooooo! This was the last place that would hire me in the East Blue." he said looking like he was on the verge of tears.
"Maybe that guy was lying, just trying to scare some of the new changed people into joining up with his crew." Carver said trying to assure himself he'd still have employment tomorrow morning.

Murray facepalmed as Jin neatly destroyed his false flag gambit, before sighing and continuing to the small group gathered around him and his nominal "captain". "Right. We're going after "Fat Cat" Morgan's ship, it should still be at pier twenty seven. Knowing their habits, there's barely a skeleton crew on watch, while the rest of the crew are out carousing. We use the rain to mask us getting onboard, smack the watch over the head, tie em up on the pier, and sail into the night"

Lonnie nods along with Murray's plan, making a mental note to a note to ask later what "carousing" means. Then, when Murray finishes with what they'll do to the watch on the ship, he tilts his head in confusion.
"Couldn't we just shoot them?"

The blush on Melanie's cheeks lessened as after the initial silence, pure chaos erupted. She noticed that she wasn't the only one to change. She wasn't the most knowledgeable when it came to Pokemon, but among a metal leg or arm with an eye, a turtle, a pink fairy thing and a chick, she could recognize a Murkrow. The last was the easiest to recognize, as there were plenty of Murkrow on Twili Island. And all of us ate a strange fruit. Why does that sound familiar to me. I know something about this... Berries that give strange powers. The answer simply eluded Melanie. "This is why I write things down now," she grumbled to herself. Either way, I can't walk around with wings on my back, there must be some way to return to normal. Melanie concentrated on returning to her original form, and the wings and tail began to recede into her body, before disappearing completely along with the strange horns on her head. Melanie felt at her back, but there was no sign of wings. It was as if they had never been there to begin with. Melanie smiled. This is going to be so useful. Now if only she could figure out how the staff had gathered this many shape shifting berries in one place and why they had given them out for free, when they must have been worth a lot. Considering one of the people who served them had turned too, it was unlikely that they knew what they were giving out. That meant someone else had gathered the berries and 'donated' them. Was this some sort of experiment? If so, what was expected of them now? They better not be expecting me to dance to anyone's tune just like that, even if I'm grateful for this new ability of mine... Melanie thought. Melanie narrowed her eyes when a dark skinned woman walked in. The chaos that was happening all around her - partially caused by her - seemed to stand still as the woman walked into the center of the room. Melanie took a look at the woman, noting her barely dressed appearance and well developed body. I don't like her, she decided. It's only after coming to this conclusion, that Melanie refocuses on the what's happening around her. She notices a man go outside after nodding at the scantily clad woman. Melanie, based on a hunch, decides to follow him a little, remaining in the building, but positioning herself to listen in on any possible conversation. It seems she was right to do so, when she hears the man talk about a nearby battle between Marines and the legendary Red. A little bit of extrapolation based on the estimated worth of the berry she'd eaten lead her to believe that the cooks of the establishment may have stumbled upon a stash of fruity treasure which could belong to the marines, Red, or another party altogether. They chose a really bad place to hide these fruits... Or maybe they decided the best place to hide them was within other people... Melanie's thoughts were interrupted by the man with the apron and large hip pouch. It seemed that who the berries belonged to was unknown, but he at least agreed that they were what Red and the marines were fighting over. If both the marines and the infamous Red were really looking for this treasure, it was probably better they never found out she had eaten one part of it. She had better get off this island quickly. But... she wasn't the only one to eat a fruit, and Melanie couldn't possibly leave these poor people to the mercy of the marines and a powerful pirate. She walked back into the center of the inn and looked at those she remembered changing into Pokemon. She was about to make some noise in order to attract their attention, but then one of the men from outside waltzed in and made a large ruckus, before explaining what she was just going to say. Melanie shrugged. She wasn't too fussed about who told the people as long as everyone now knew what was going on. Though it seemed some of the patrons didn't need to be told anyway. The two men and the boy seemed to be planning on getting a ship together with - and this came as a huge surprise to Melanie - the barmaid of all people. Melanie looked at the buxom woman and decided to take another ship. They weren't too hard to come by as long as you had the funds to pay for passage or could sneak onto one and remain undetected long enough. With this in mind, Melanie decided to wait and see how things played out. She wanted to make sure everyone got to safety before she left herself. And who knew, perhaps one of the remaining patrons owned a ship. Wouldn't that be lucky? Well I may as well do something useful while I wait. Melanie reached into a small pouch at her hip and retrieved a black book. Within were her notes on Pallet Island. Time to update these I think. Melanie sat down at a table, uncaring of what was going on around her and with fast and precise strokes of her pen, added to her notes the events of the day. Once she was done, she once again focused on her surroundings and watched the turtleman almost break down into tears as he realized he was going to lose his job. He seemed to change his mind about the situation though. All Melanie could do was wryly mumble to herself, "Watching denial at work is not pleasant." She stood up and walked closer to the turtleman. "Wake up mister! He was just trying to help and I don't appreciate you calling him a liar. The other guy with him, the one with the apron and pouch, hasn't eaten one of those berries and he's still getting out of here with him," Melanie berated the man slightly. "Now, this place might not be shut down, but it's still in your best interest to leave. I've seen what ex-marines can do to innocent people and if the other marines are anything like that they're not going to treat you nicely. Expect some bad bruises at least and maybe a stay in prison." The last part wasn't really fair to say, since Melanie's mother had taken the fall for her, but that didn't make the fact that the marines had put an innocent person in prison any less true. Swift Action: Melanie makes a Record of Pallet Island and adds it to her Travel Archive
