The team ventured forth from Cadet town, encountering several pokemon in their travels, and adding several of them to their group. The group fought a trio of trainers, and were ambushed by a pack of Poochyena that left quite the hurting. Their ultimate challenge on the route was when they came across a flooded out portion of the path, and saved a young kid from a group of Corphish intent on making the kid their dinner. The group saved the child and returned him to Mesquite town. While in the pokemon center, as Marcus was speaking to the nurse and Seth was receiving glory from the family, Mae turned her attention out the window to the west.
Mae looks out the window to see flashes of lightning light up the sky, and she sees a tornado-esque formation of clouds form over some mountaintops at least a days walk away. Suddenly, from the eye of the storm, a sickly red and black...laser emerges, and a barely audible(but still epicly loud due to the distance) thrumming is heard. It provides enough light to be CLEARLY seen, for a fraction of a second before it disappears, leaving those not already paying attention unable to see anything but a flash in the corner of their eyes before it is gone. Unlike lightning, this was a perfectly cylindrical column of energy. It was at least 10ft wide as it came down from the sky, and swept in an arc.
The rest of the group meets and greets with Erin, the town's gym leader, as Mae decompresses after witnessing such an event. Soon after, she comes back down and tells(and with Sync's help, shows) everyone what she saw. She recognized it as a legendary with Death as a domain, which gave the room a sudden ominous chill...

Upon hearing that a legendary was involved Marcus shakes his head and moves to a corner, well aware he was too ignorant to contribute to any discussion concerning the pokemon. Instead he removes his jumper and pokes the Execute, waking up the telepathic, sleeping pokemon. "Hello again. This building is safe if you want to wait out the storm here." He says pulling a pokeball off of his belt. "Or you could come with me. See the world and grow stronger than you could ever imagine?" He offers. Charm Roll: (Spending AP) 8PTZQVGB2d6+12d6+1

Mae is wrapped in about three towels at this point, her hair matted. She looks a bit like a Rattata that fell in a drain. As silence falls over the group after she 'somehow' remembered something from her learning pertaining to their situation about the lazer, she looks more and more annoyed as the others say nothing. She does the only thing that she really knows she 'can' do in this situation, and has Sync save the video to a file so she can send it to the professor. She doesn't even have to look up at the other's faces to know that besides what they just saw, the other thing on their minds is her. The torrential rain she wasn't prepared for had finally done it's job and gotten inside her clothes, and chilled her. Even a slight temperature loss will cause her body to begin to show signs of that day when she was young. Try as she might, she can never remember anything about that day. She used to wonder out of pure curiosity. Now she wishes it so she can keep her anger tempered. She looks up to the others, focusing on Marcus and Seth, though she gives a quick glance at Erin.
"I've done about the only thing we can do in this situation. I've had Sync save what he saw to a file, and e-mailed it to the Professor. Considering he's the only one we really know who's done research on the storms, it's the only person I can think of that will need that info. With that out of the way, I 'know' there's something else on your minds. Something that can be answered. Something about me."
She turns away from them, back toward the hallway the rooms were in.
"Go ahead. I'm. Waiting."

The exeggcute weighs his options, and then nods silently. While the rest of the pods settle back in to fall asleep once more, one hops out of your open jacket at a pokeball on your waist, striking it, and the entire group disappears in a beam of light.

As Mae turns her back on the entrance doorway, a chime goes off to punctuate the last line of her icy statement. A gentleman dressed in different shades of blue looks about the entrance hall and glances at a photograph in his hands, before walking over to Seth, still standing a short distance from the group.
"Mr. Ironwood? A moment of your time please. Alone, if you don't mind."
Glancing at the rest of you, he gives a curt nod to Mae and Marcus as he follows the man to a corner, where they discuss a topic for a few minutes in hushed tones.
The man walks back to the door of the Center as Seth rejoins you, and says, "It breaks me heart to abandon ye mates, but I must depart. I be needed by my organization in Argent City. Perhaps we'll meet again thar?"
Seth then, with a bit of a frown, doesn't even give opportunities to ask further questions before turning and leaving the Center, the man he was with nodding deferentially to you as he leaves as well.

"So much for that." Marcus says to Mae as Seth leaves. "I was expecting him to know something about death deities." He shakes his head and looks at Mae properly. "Are you ok? I mean, you're dryer and probably warmer than I am, but you kind of look like you need a hug. And while I'm not the best at those, Porygon lack arms and the idea of Jupiter touching a damp human is horrifying."

Mae is at first confused when Seth just up and 'leaves', saying he might see them later, to just very annoyed with Marcus offers comfort. She fumes and turns to , and some might consider it cute if they didn't know her.
"Mr. Geta. I do not need 'a hug'. I am 'fine'. I merely have a condition. I suppose you'd call it a handicap, if we were being technical."
She adopts a more staight-faced tone.
"When I was three, I had an incident during one of the worst Icirrus City winters the city had ever seen. The heat went out and I nearly died. I don't remember it at all, but I get a constant reminder of what happened any time my body's temperature drops even a little. It's why I have to wear two layers and THEN a coat. If I don't I'll start shivering as my body thinks it's dying again."
She turns away from Marcus.
"And that should explain that. Think more of me, less of me; I suppose it doesn't matter."

"Well hugs are an efficient way of transferring body heat." Marcus says defensively before tilting his head. "And that sucks. With most people I'd recommend catching a Torchic or Vulpix to keep under your jacket when in the snow but I know you don't consider that an option." He shakes his head and turns to Erin.
"Sorry for ignoring you, we're still getting to know each other. I don't suppose you know anything about the deity Mae saw?" He asks.

"I mean I wouldn't be opposed to catching something if it REALLY wasn't going to ever battle, but that's a bit cruel into itself. Just turning it into a pet, or for me some sort of tool."
Mae looks off out the window, thoughts whirling in her head.
"It would also be insulting to Sync and the goal we've both set ourselves to accomplish."

A young girl with a slight build exits the dormitory area of the Center, grabs a meal from the cafe, and sits down at a table within earshot of you. She is wearing a black hoodie and jeans, and the hood is drawn up, obscuring her face. Her most notable feature however is her sword she carries at her side. A Honedge with no scabbard; the blade is blood red. She begins to eat silently.
Erin waits a few moments, as though expecting you both to continue, before saying "No, I don't know what could be capable of what Mae described. I'm not really into, uhh, spirits and Gods, and all that. I like to face my problems head-on. Sending that video to the Professor was a good move. He should be able to I.D. it no problem. While you two were talking I got together with my assistants and am having them fly over to Mount Gaspar and check out the...um, blast site? In the mean-time though, I think you two need some rest. It is 5pm, so not much daylight left in the- Her voice is punctuated a loud sound of an ambulance speeding back towards Cadet town. -day." She grimaces and looks out the window. "I'm guessing you'll want to challenge me at some point tomorrow. I may have to cancel, depending on how all this pans out, but assuming everything goes off without a hitch, why don't we try for noon? That should give me time to prepare. Speaking of preparation, I typically challenge my opponents in groups of three, since that is how Professor Mondrian usually sets them up for me. It isn't like people DON'T come in solo from time to time, so it's no big deal or anything, but maybe you two can find a replacement for your traveling partner?"

As the Ambulance goes the way they came, Mae feels a sting. She wonders who exactly the ambulance is for, and she doesn't like the options. Despite not knowing many of them, and not being a 'caring' person, none of them deserve to be hurt by whatever the storm brought down on them. She snaps out of it when Erin mentions challenging her.
Oh when did I miss that? I guess judging by the clothes, she's a specialty in fighting. That might be tricky. At least until Sync gets hit with one, then I can have Sync Conversion 2 to Flying or something. Then we might be ok.
She turns to Erin.
"Yes, noon then. Sounds right."
She debates mentioning as an aside that Erin should let them know about what her assistants find, but decides against it. Other than just forwarding stuff to the professor, what 'exactly' is a girl like her gonna do about what they saw? She doesn't know much about legends in general, and it was surprising to even her that she knew about the death bit. And they can't possibly fight it, something that did that would just up and destroy them instantly. She resigns to just focusing in on her goal. She's gotta be ready to face Erin, either alone or with others, it really doesn't matter. But, the girl that did come in piqued her interest. That Honedge looks battle ready.
At Erin's mention of finding a third, Mae nods to Marcus and then to the girl. She's not really a talker, so it might be up to him.

"We'll certainly try." Marcus promises and fights off a yawn. If only the gym leader hadn't mentioned rest. He gives Mae an unamused look, obviously catching her point. He rubs his still damp hair before heading over to the girl.
"Excuse me. I can't help but notice your intimidating sword. Should I be assuming that you're a fellow pokemon trainer, seeking to challenge the local gym leader? Or should I assume that you'll attack me if I harass you? Because if it's the first, the local gym leader prefers to hanfdle challengers in groups of 3 and we need a third. If its the second, ignore everything I've said and please don't attack me." He says, his fatigue preventing him from showing much concern or manners.

The girl turns slowly to look at Marcus, her skin is quite pale, and her eyes seem to have a faint blue glow identical to that of the Honedge by her side. When she speaks, her voice is soft, almost a whisper, and she seems to struggle to find words, as if not used to speaking.
"Yes....trainer...fight." She pauses a moment, trying to come up with the correct words. "Gym.. fight? Yes."

"Wonderful." Marcus says, barely any sarcasm detectable in his voice. "I am Marcus Septimia Geta. My companion is Mae Stram. She posseses a Porygon, while I will be choosing from my Elekid, Exeggcute, Quibble and Tynamo for the battle. Do you posses any pokemon other than your Honedge?" He asks, figuring it would be best to sort out the gym first

"Ok, so the three us can do quite well type wise against the Fighting types at the gym." Marcus says, both annoyed and unnerved by the girl. "So what's your name, where are you from and what did you do to your eyes?" He asks, cutting to the chase.

The girl goes silent for a moment, obviously considering possible responses. Her voice seems to gain some strength as she uses it more. "I am called.. 'Holly'."

Mae finally decides to step forward. Obviously Marcus isn't pushing his questions well. She's not much of a 'people-person' herself but she can REALLY be insistent and stubborn.
"Miss... Holly. Mr. Geta 'did' ask you multiple questions. Given what weirdness literally just happened outside you'd think a direct question would at least provoke a response of some sort."

"... I am from a far place.. far, far from here..." She tilts her head slightly at the question about her eyes. "What... about them?"

"It looks like your pokemon is possessing your body somehow. Your eyes and it's body glow the same ethereal color. I believe it's worrying Mr. Geta here."
Mae is not one known for 'tact'.
