For whatever personal reason they may have, numerous people were upon the cruise liner S.S. Mary (a sibling ship of a far more famous cruise liner) to the newly rediscovered continent of Ignotus and more importantly for many, the waters around it. Regardless, the cruise goers get off the ship as it comes into port, and soon the bustling pier is filled with people. Whatever your reasons for being here, you knew that unlike the majority of them, you weren't here for a weekend of shopping and seeing rare variations of Pokemon. Even as the people get off, they are lured by merchants with carts selling things such as sunhats, strawhats, and baseball caps bought cheap from saffron city factories to be resold here; which is sure to provide an interesting experience for them. You are about to start the next stage of your lives. Adventure! New and exciting people and pokemon! For some, it's even time to find your destiny. As other guilds exit on private piers, the crew guides you to the main pier, and by the time you are half way down a guttural roar can be heard across the entire bay and following that, the sounds of growls and flailing. People move out of the way of the source, but you can all see it. A man who is built like a Machoke, holding a blue and black shaded crocodilian which some might identify as a feraligatr within a sleeper hold as it snaps and tries to escape him and into the crowd. Calmly, a bronzely tanned young woman with deep red hair stands by, a lab coat covering her khakis and green t-shirt, and a backpack slung over her shoulder as she stands guard of a bag that was almost the size of her.

Richard Basir stood up from his seat on the deck of the SS Mary, yawned, stretched, and leisurely made his way down the gangplank. He was to meet a rep from the Exploration Guild he'd signed up with prior to departing for Ignotus, but he couldn't for the life of him remember their name. It didn't matter much anyway, he was sure it'd come back to him, and more importantly he had some light sightseeing to do to really get him in the mood for this holiday.
He took a look around himself, appreciating the mix of people from all regions of the world that had come out for the weekend. Though he was going to be here for quite a spell longer, he shared in their sense of wonderment and excitement at the novelty of it all.
Richard got in a few terrible photos of the boat he arrived on, and then began wandering around. However, he'd scarcely made it four steps when he spotted another sight worth taking note of: his first local business! A fine hat stall! He practically skipped up to it, snapped a quick photo of the sign. "Hats", it said, in what was either some exotic language native to this new world, or terrible English handwriting.
Browsing the stall-owner's wares, Richard became acutely conscious of the horrifically sunburned back of his neck, and resolved to buy a bucket hat to keep the sun off him. His first monetary transaction on the new continent (!) was cut short, however, by the sight of a man wrestling a Feraligator.
Richard hurriedly paid for the hat, plonked it onto his head as he ran, and began shouldering his way through the crowd for a better look at this local sport. Out came the Pokédex camera once more, this time to capture some 244p video of the foreign sport. The flash was on, and it might have shone in the eyes of both participants, but they're likely used to it, dealing with tourists as often as they do.
...Right?

The S.S. Mary was approaching port while Monterey Hawthorn was enjoying some sun on deck. The wind swept his hair across the back of his neck, and the smell of sea salt tickled his when the ship’s horn blared twice in rapid succession. All around him passengers and Pokémon alike stirred with anticipation, the cruise liner had made dock. Monterey stood up and stretched his neck to get a better look at coastline around him amidst the heads of the others clambering to disembark.
Standing still in a current of bodies increasing speed, he was jostled by a passerby knocking the hat from his head and causing him to double over to keep his footing. As the crowd thinned, Monterey was able to reclaim his; while dusting it off he turned to the open air,
“Come on Belmont, we better get going, don’t want to be late.”
At that, with a twirl, a floating candle Pokémon apparated where the Boy was looking.
“You should probably get back it your pokeball,” he said lifting a green and yellow sphere “it getting kinda hectic, we could get separated.”
Belmont cooed in agreement as he was recall and reclipped to Monterey’s belt. Lifting his satchel bag, he made his way of the boat with the last of the stragglers. Showing his expedition acceptance and asking direction he was ushered down the main pier.
Growling and pounding sounds drew his attention in a snap, stuffing his papers back into his pocket, he rushed towards the sounds as the rest of the crowd began to withdraw. The sight of a restrained rampaging Feraligator did nothing more than peak his curiosity. ‘he’s a big one, are they always that color?’ he pondered getting as close as he was able. Monterey wondered if indeed there was something different about this Pokemon. As he studied the gator, he could feel hot breath on his face and the snapping seemed to be in stereo.
“Hiya big Fella.”

Valeria laid in her bed, her head trying to relax on her hands on the ship but it still make her uncomfortable being on the water with the constant rocking. But she still gave thought to the impending journey ahead and her new team mates. She hasn't seen much of them, but what she has seen seems to be what you'd expect from a team of this level, she saw a couple people that seem capable of fighting. Talking of course about The sword girl and the freakishly tall character. which is really good to hear as she didn't want to be the only person on the team who could fight. Of course she couldn't know if the others could fight but she'd find out soon enough. But before she could continue her line of thought the ship had arrived at the port.
"So, we're here. Hopefully this goes well!"
When she decided it was time to get up she pulled herself up and jumped out of bed and did some stretches before running outside towards the exit of the port. upon exiting the ship she sees all the different kinds of vendors. Even if she had any Poke at the moment chances are she's responded with a quick reply and proceeded to ignore them.
"Sorry! No money, try someone else"
Valeria continued on while she saw a group gathering around two figures wrestling it out. Which was honestly quite impressive. It was of a human taking on a very tough looking Pokemon. And the human winning.
And while this was very impressive, Valeria admitted she had absolutely no clue where to go or if there was anyone that she needed to talk to. Causing her to look around trying to find anyone that's standing out, but there are only two people that look important enough to be them, and that's the big guy wrestling that Pokemon and the girl with the huge bag. She made sure to keep an eye on both of them.

It was an ocean's away from home that Alden had the first doubt about this whole plan. Not that he could do anything about it at this point anyway - he had signed up with Lapis guild by now, and his pride simply wouldn't allow him to go back on his word. Not to mention the fact that he couldn't afford the trip back anyway, so the point was moot: he had spent most of his budget for the trip in the fancy array of tourist-trap paraphernalia that first-time explorers always seemed to end up stuck with. Such as the three "Original - guaranteed not a scam" maps of the area that ended up being maps from completely unrelated parts of the words with the names barely scrubbed off that now rested crumpled in three different trashcans through the ship.
With his options so limited, he took the only reasonable path he could: with a sigh he tossed his luggage over one shoulder, perched Ain on the other and proceeded to head off to explore Argenport for all its wonders.
Wonders that didn't take long to appear: he had barely walked around five minutes, wondering how to find the representative from Lapis guild that he stumbled upon the Feraligatr-wrestling show.
Because it had to be a show, right? No way someone in their right of mind would just start wrestling a beast of that size in the middle of a populated town. As he wondered that, the only thing Alden could do was stand there and stare, slack-jawed.

So now we fly ever free We're free before the thunderstorm On towards the wilderness our quest carries on Far beyond the sundown, far beyond the moonlight Deep inside our hearts and all our souls Through The Fire And Flames The days on top of the endless blue have been very dull to Nikandros. He simply could not wait for the S.S. Mary to reach the mysterious region of Ignotius and for him to finally back to stepping on the warm skin of Mother Earth once again instead of the plank on this man-made creation. A wonderful creation indeed, and one Nikandros was very skeptical about as a man who frowned upon technologies, not necessarily in the way that the ship would fail and they would die like the passengers of S.S. Titanic but him getting shocked by whatever devils living inside all those electronic devices. He did not know much about that Titanic ship but he heard a plenty of people joking about it while staying in the port town few days before his departure. He heard there was even a movie made about it although he wasn't sure what in the world was a "movie".
It was the tribesman's first experience at a cruise ship too albeit a rather disappointing one. Living in the inner area of a region and on the high ground has kept him away from water transport all the years, nor he has any intention or reason to go on a voyage apart from his tribe. But now that he has done it, it was not an emotional journey like he thought. Departure like this was apparently a lot for some human being, as he has seen various people crying and doing all sort of passionate kissing on the port before their departure. That was a whole world of difference from his departure, which was not much different from any of his previous departure from the tribe village on raiding and hunting trips. Just his families and some of his fellow tribesmen giving him some stuff and sending him away with their eyes and the occasional wave. Everyone knew the trip was for a very long time, as another Godseeker has not been back to Batumerah yet after four decades of exploration, but perhaps the tribe was more used to this sort of come and go things than the civilized people who go fancy on everything. Though to be very honest, he would not mind some passionate kissing and even more, that would be the epic sendoff he dreamed about...and remained a dream for now. It has somewhat bothered him that he could not get much of an affection from the women of his tribes even after various acts of heroism around the land. His father used to tell him stories about how he was the popular figure when he was young, bla bla bla, but of course his father was a much better warrior than him, so it sort of made sense. Either way, he expected his return to be HUGE, after his fruitful journey that brought him closer to Godhood than anyone else, and that's all the motivation he needed to stay pumped on this otherwise dull voyage.
To be fair, it would not be dull if he could enjoy all the things available without the fear of getting himself electrocuted or possessed by all the devils in his mind. The cruise really has everything, from casino to his newfound favorite, theater. The casino was very interesting to him, a new world really, but his fear of touching the machines, zero knowledge on the games' rules and his lack of money have kept the experience light. Though he killed a portion of his time just wandering and spectating around the tables. The theater, on the other hand, was stupendous. He went for it every single day and he did not even care if it was just a repeat of the story he has seen, he would be the first one sitting on the frontmost seat and the last one to leave. Heck, one of the performers even thought he was a ghost, as he has a rather distinctive and unusual apparel and he was always there on the same seat.
Despite all the entertaining venues, Nikandros still has a lot of time to fill and spent most of them in his room. One might think gym and the activity center would be more his thing but it was not. He could care less about all the weird machines in the gym and he has zero interest in climbing fake rock wall when he has actually climbed mountains for his whole life. His daily workout with his spear was quickly denied by the ship's authority stating that it was too dangerous to do so on the ship's deck. His spear was then confiscated when he tried the same thing the next day despite the warnings.
That's about all of his weeks in the sea. Nikandros was already on the deck right after the first broadcast of the ship nearing its destination and he was there eyeing the island that grew bigger and bigger in front of him. The island did not look too different from his native region but that did not stop him from getting all amped up over the destination. If the rumors of the Gods' temples and such were really there, he would be having the exploration of his life. He knew he did not have the archeologist's mindset to appreciate the beauty of such places but it was more of an occult connection for him, as if he was walking on the stair steps to Heaven, walking toward the path of righteousness...meh, that sounded much cheesy than he would like. Nikandros was a simple warrior, not a shaman or a priest, and he would like to expand his knowledge on these things if possible. It's one thing he was worried about -- what if he actually meet Victini but could not communicate at all? That surely would suck.
Nikandros was among the first few to go down from the ship, and he gladly snatched his spear back from an innocent sailor with a full dose of force, much more than needed. Preparing himself for whatever was to come, he did a whole bunch of stretching while waiting for the others to come down, particularly his guildmates and the guide. With no worries of his rather minimal belongings - his only luggage being the bag strapped to him and his spear - and no alternate agenda, he waited quietly, taking his time on the natural environment around and not the stalls or the tourists.
Several minutes later, he and the few people who he assumed would be his guildmates were on their way to the main pier, only to be interrupted by a monstrous roar from behind. Interesting, five minutes in and a beast already; Not something I have heard a lot, possibly a creature around water, he thought as he sidestepped like the others, before turning back to confirm his prediction. As an experienced hunter himself, the roar was giving him more of an adrenaline rush than fear, though even he has to admit that was a powerful roar. He has not meet many beasts packed that level of ferocity in their sound.
Nikandros quickly turned his spear around so the sharp part would be hiding behind his body to not provoke the beast passing him. He did not let go of the spear though, his left hand was right on the handle the whole time as the hunter and the beast passed him by. He knew the man has keep the creature under control and he respected the man's capability for capturing such a creature alive, but if anything would happen, he would be the first to jump out and keep the beast in check. For now though, he stood and waited, gazing for any clue on what would happen next and the young woman with autumn above her head who was actively pulling his attention away.

The masked swordswoman stepped off the boat with a fire in her eyes and a smile on her face. How could she not, she'd finally reached her proving ground. Flashy as the Kalosian was with her masquerade-style hitmontop mask and glittering blouse, the eyes were not on her, but rather the mighty scaled beast getting outdone by a mere man. Even Gabrielle had to stop and stare, her right hand naturally leaning on the pommel of he prized rapier. Noting one of her compatriots from the cruise, a red-headed lady who had slept in the room adjacent to hers, next to her, the Kalosian notes "That man is quite the marvel, is he not?"

While people continued to circle the event, the dark skinned red head that stood beside him glared at them with such irate attention that the icy blue iris of her eyes seemed to almost steam. Soon, the girl threw up her lab coat and pulled out a pair of Pokeballs. Given its size, and his closeness to the event, Monterey immediately notices that it is definitely different than normal. Given its tense movements and dark coloration, he surmises that it is water and dark type, level 35, with a rash nature. It's abilities are pressure and sheer force.
“That's quite enough, Uncle Johann.” she said to the bulky man, and rolled her Pokeballs in her hands before tossing one skyward and summoning from it a golden feathered rather spiked looking pokemon, which any particularly knowledgeable trainer would instantly recognize as a Spearow, despite its odd coloring.
As it came out, flying as it was, as if on cue the man threw himself backwards and almost replicated a seismic toss in his throw of the gargantuan, odd colored Feraligatr. As it was thrown towards the sea, the Spearow began to build up with electricity and suddenly sent out an attack that could only be 'thunder shock' at it.
Within a moment's span of time, the lady scientist threw her other pokeball, and soon the thrown, electrocuted alligator was swallowed up into the mysterious red laser of a the device. From her wrist, a red and white device which looked like a cross between a Pokedex and a Watch beeped and called out for all to hear.
“Ignotan Variation of Feraligatr detected: Water / Dark type. This Pokemon is a natural predator in the rivers around Argenport and in the Argen bay. Capable of incredible stealth and speed, this slow moving species is incredibly dangerous in water. If one is seen, contact Argenport Volunteer Guard, as others are likely.”
To which she rolls her eyes, before throwing a tartan patterned collared shirt to the previously shirtless wrestler. “I believe our new recruits are here, Mr. Mudfield.” she looked at each and every one of them, and immediately he turns to Vivian and Monterey, the nearest to him as people dispersed with the end of this previously exciting event. As he put on his glasses, he said simply: “Hello, I'm Explorer Johann Mudfield. I'm the chief explorer of the Guild Lapis. Are you a boy or a girl? What's your name? We're waiting on several new recruits.”
And his apparent assistant, called out to the entire pier.
“Those who were recruited recently to Exploration Guild Lapis, please report in right here, so I can compare it with my PDA and we can get you your ID and set up. Welcome to Ignotus!”

TrueEndingElizaAs Valeria watched the show she was approached by that girl with the blade. Turning her attention to the person she let out a hearty laugh in anticipation. "Hahahahaaa! Yeah, Not my personal style of fighting but it's nice to see what I'll be able to do in the future." She turned back towards the fight but now with a confident smile and stern eyes. "It's something to look forward to!"As the fight ended they began to call to the new recruits to approach and Valeria did so without hesitation. Not even stopping while she turned around for a split second to see if she was following for her to join as well. She knew that not everyone here were fighters so it would be nice to have some others that could to join her. As Valeria fought through the crowd to get over to the assistant she stood there with her shoulders square and tall with the same smile as before. "My name is Valeria Sadat. A new recruit."This was her first impression on them and she wanted to drip with confidence.

Richard sighed and slowly ambled over towards his superiors, adjusting his hat as he did so. It had settled oddly on his head, and was quite uncomfortable. Shoddy foreign craftsmanship. He had really been looking forward to poking around Argenport a little, but work must come first. It was his own fault for rubbernecking so soon after stepping off the boat, anyway.
Besides. It was thanks to the efforts of these people that he was getting to explore the place at all, so he probably should at least say hello.
"Richard Basir, reporting for duty and itching to get going. Pleasure to make your acquaintance, mate".

'Fascinating' was the only thing Alden could think to himself as the pokédex publicly announced the properties of the recently-caught pokémon. If this was just the beginning of what they were going to find in Ignotus, then the trip was well-worth it. Now, the real question was.. what would happen if you happened to breed this variant with a standard Feraligatr?
So engrossed he was in his thoughts that he missed the first call completely and was only brought back to earth by the second one, after which he scampered closer to the assistant, documents in hand. "Hagan here" he said simply.

'So the Feralligator was a dark type, and did that Spearow just use a thunderbolt?' lifting the brim of his hat with his pointer finger, he stares up in the sky at the glittering bird as it gracefully soared.
Yup you guessed it, Pokemaniac on the Spearow I0b5BV8L4d6 DC 10
Shaken from his revery by, “Hello, I'm Explorer Johann Mudfield. I'm the chief explorer of the Guild Lapis. Are you a boy or a girl? What's your name? We're waiting on several new recruits.” Monterey finally took in the bulk of the wrestler standing in front of him.
"Oh uh, Hi, IIIII'm a boy," quickly wiping his hand on his pant leg, extended it towards Johann to shake "Name's Monterey, Monterey Hawthorn. Im one of the new recruits," gesturing with a thumb towards the fierce red "Pleasure to meet you but i think I better check in... officially."
Monterey couldn't help but notice the firm, vice-like grip of Explorer Midfield. Perhaps he too has been type shifted. After seeing two exciteting new specimens of pokemon so soon after getting off the boat, it was clear, what's been said about Ignotus must be true. The potential for adventure, new pokemon and new friends was all around. Monterey stepped inline to check in and noticed another redhead, very big and very shirtless, doing the same. 'Glad he's on my side.'4d6

So now we fly ever free We're free before the thunderstorm On towards the wilderness our quest carries on Far beyond the sundown, far beyond the moonlight Deep inside our hearts and all our souls Through The Fire And Flames Nikandros merely stood and watched as the things unfold themselves in front of him. As a non-Pokemon expert himself, he was unamazed at all by the thundering display of the Spearow and whatever that Demon's device has to say about the big blue-black creature. Pokemon did Pokemon stuff, what's so special about it? Though he has to admit the Feraligatr did look very delicious and he would not hesitate to kill one for food if he was ever presented with the chance. He even thought of rushing toward the wild and search for one right now but that would be utterly stupid, and it would definitely be utterly stupid if even he thought so.
His grip relaxed now that the threat was gone, after he turned the spear's head back to pointing the sky, as he did not like it one bit when people thought he was holding a staff rather than a spear. Staff was a sparring weapon, not made to kill, and how could he be awesome with such a pathetic weapon? Spear was a huge part of him as a hunter and he wanted everyone to know that right away, especially the guild people he's about the meet soon. Hmm, wonder how a guild looks like, I hope not very different from my tribe.
He was the slowest to gather up and took his time analyzing the others before him. Not much of a thinker himself but when it's about the group, he wanted to know every bit of information he could get. His first attention was of course the young ma -- boy besides him seconds ago. Young, definitely not a fighter, guess he's smart.
Then to the taller man with purple hair. Zero muscle tone, can't even go through the adventure course on the ship, must be another smart guy. Nikandros thought with a disdaining smirk, as if he was better (and he did think so), before moving to the third guy. What in the world is a tourist doing here? And he smells like...the wild even on the boat, erk, at least useful as my helper on hunting.
The other "man" caught his eyes though. Cool mask, never seen something like that in my place, maybe the style of other tribes in the world. Could be a Pokemon's face, maybe he's a hunter just like me. He checked on his pants proudly, made from the skin of a Zebstrika. Rapier, pretty modern and very fitting with him, the sissy voice and girly outfits. Well, at least he looks like he can fight.
And lastly, the only girl among the gathered. Crazy modern people, sending girls to the battlefield and then claiming they treat woman fairly. Guess it's up for me and the rapier guy to protect her.
With the final remark, he walked forward confidently one big step at a time. With the newfound resolution of protecting the motherly figure of the group, he stood behind the party, towering over Valeria, "Nikandros, from the Batumerah tribe, here for Guild Lapis." He said while raising his chin slightly, exuding confidence that more or less resembled arrogance and ignorance. It did not help his case when he was looking more like an uncivilized Ignotus native than an explorer.

The Spearow looked very much like a miniature version of the reported descriptions in history and mythology books, of the crypto-Pokemon known as 'Zapdos' by many, and for good reason as it crackled with electricity as it flew to its owner and perched on the lady scientist's shoulder. Monterey would definitely note that there was no way this was just a spearow that learned electric moves, it was definitely: Electric / Flying type. Its power and posture make it clear it is level 20, it has a Modest Nature. Its abilities are Early Bird and Static.
As the group assembled, the red haired scientist began looking at the device at her wrist, then each of them, and seemed by her expression to be marking off a mental checklist. Soon, it began to make a noise that sounded like a machine having a heart attack, and hard plastic cards began to print out from it. As it was finished, she, or her little helper Spearow, began to hand them out. Listed on the cards were pictures of the holders, information about them to make sure a look alike didn't snag it, and the words, 'Lapis – Always Searching'. On the back side, the guild emblem was present, a blue circular gem design with the white head of an albino Lapris upon it.
“These cards will identify you as members of the guild if you enter guild facilities, and will also allow you to make purchases using the guild's shared credit, up to a certain amount. As a group, we've allocated your new team, team six as you have been dubbed, 20,000 Poke with which to buy any supplies you need before we head off to the first set of ruins we're exploring. When we get back from exploring you'll probably get to see the guild HQ. Additionally:”
Her Coworker went to his huge backpack and pulled out something else for the group, six stone looking ovals with strange markings etched upon them, each was a large, Pokemon Egg sized object, and if one didn't know better it would seem like a PokeEgg Fossil.
“You are each to carry one of these, and to protect them as you would anything else. We'll give you more information about them when we get to the ruins themselves, or somewhere else sufficiently private.” the big man said as he handed them out. He stopped though, first at Nikandros, and reached into his bag for a second item, handing the warrior a pokeball, which through the slightly translucent screen visible as it was rubbed when being handed over, a Bellsprout could be seen. Secondly, at Gabrielle, where a similar instance happens, and a Happiny is handed to her. Then, he does the same with Valeria, handing her the egg like object first and following it with a Pokeball which from the slightly translucent (at the moment) top, visibly contains a Nidoran Male. “We know none of you three had a Pokemon before, and as such, we prepared these Pokemon for you, as we felt they would fit well with you and provide useful team mates.” Finally, he almost does so for Richard as well, but instead stops himself as he notices a very large young Pokemon apparently sitting beneath the head of Richard. “As for you? We looked but weren't sure what fit your apparent talents and affinities as stated by your uncle, and hoped that he would have given you one, but instead, you seem to have actually had a chance dropped on your head, or rather, your hat.” An empty pokeball is handed to the young man, and the explorer looks at the top of his head, as if signalling where the Pokemon was.

Richard lifted his hat off and scooped the Pokémon up with it. Holding it around eye level, he smiled and addressed it. "You're a shy wee fella, eh? Sure if you like me that much, you should have just said hi. I don't bite."
He paused to rub the Pokémon's head, then asked it "D'you wanna tag along on this little adventure of ours?"
"More fun traveling with a friend, anyhow" he remarked as the hefty little guy assented and he slapped it with the ball catching it.
Almost immediately, however, he sent it back out and returned it to its spot between hat and head. It seemed happy there before, and he wasn't going to keep his new friend cooped up when it had a cushy spot like that.

Monterey reached out and graciously accepted his ID from the glistening Spearow. Appealing to the bird’s modest nature, he held out his had palm side up in a gesture of good intent, then transition to a rub on the head by way of greeting. As he petted, a small spark of static electricity popped between them before the Spearow moved on to deliver the next ID.
As Mudfield pointed out his compatriots hat, Monterey also locked onto the Weedle nudging it way out into the open. After what he has already seen, dark gators and electric birds, he was still exhilarated to see a Weedle that was what, blue? With another finger to the brim of his hat, he raised it, leaned in and gazed.
Pokemanic that bug rj4Vsv3N4d6 DC 10
Watching him deftly befriend and official tame the creature, Monterey was pleased. He was watching new bridges of friendship being build, pule he’d potentially have more time to spend with, and study the little guy. His train of thought was yet again cut off when the burley man pulled out a series of what looked like stones, or were they eggs?!
In lowered, more private tones “I know you said we’ll talk more later, and I’m sure we will, in detail, but I’ve gotta ask, are these eggs? I’ve never seen eggs like this.”
Pokemon Edu check to try to identify if these are indeed eggs, and if so possible contents 4d6 DC -shrug-
Eyeing each ‘egg’ with the desire to study them all, Monterey’s focus darted back and forth. Overwhelmed by choice, he appraised each briefly, and made a decision. Selecting from the back he lifted an ‘egg’ with tenderness, declaring “I’ll take this one, thank you.”
Instruction regarding the IDs and the guild floated in the background of his mind as he carefully turned his new item in his hands studying it from all angles, caressing it’s grooves. As the speech was coming to a close, one of his new guild members gave him a polite ribbing, urging him to pay attention. Monterey remembered the scary redhead with the Spearow, and thought it best to give her his full attention. As he listened, he placed the ‘egg’ in his satchel, securing it in his possession.
“Hello Team Lapis! My name is Monterey, Monterey Hawthorn. I’m from a ranch west of Cinnabar Island, South of Mt Silver.”
Monterey extended his hand to shake everyone in turn and listened to the introductions to follow. _______________
“Not sure what all of you brought with you, I have a first aid kit and a water filter. Oh, and I almost forgot,” unclipping and tossing a nest ball into the air with deftness, Monterey snatched the ball as it made it’s decent and released a Litwick. “Id like you to meet Belmont,” turning to the the candle poken and wiggling his fingers through the tip of his flame, “Belmont these are our new guild mates.” Returning his focus back to the group, “so, I don't think fire will be a problem.”
Pulling out a small notebook and opening it to a dog-eared section, he spoke and read, “while I was on the ship I spent some time thinking about what we might need, never hurts to be prepared, some of the essentials:
2x tents 3mx1.5mx1.5m 2700p each 5400p 6 x sleeping bags 6000p 4x bandages 300p each 1200p
that’s 12600p so far
1000p to get some emergency rations for the group, not sure what that will run. I can probably find something to much on while we’re out in the field too.
3000p play money, 500p each, but you have to spend it now or else it goes towards the group.
Bringing us to 16600p with everything I mentioned.
I also thought these items might come in handy, just things we should consider. Dark Vision Goggles 1,000p Gas Mask 1,500p Re-Breather 4000p Running Shoes 2000p Flippers 2000p Jungle Boots 1500p
That’s my two poke, what do you all think?” 4d6·4d6

As Valeria listened to their new bosses, she noticed a tall shadow behind her and turned around, having to look up a surprising amount as she's wasn't even able to see his face properly. towering man with red hair. Silently muttering *Holy fuck* before her attention was brought back to the girl as she gave out our ID cards. Followed quickly by what looked like a fossil and her very first Pokemon.
"Thank you very much, Sir!"
Valeria sent out the Nidoran as set her hands on her hips as she examined him.
"Well then, Bon Bon. I only have two questions for you! Are you ready to be trained so you can keep up with me. And are you ready to kick some ass!?"
Bon Bon started to jump around Valeria and ended on him on two legs looking up at his new trainer with an enthusiastic look in his eyes.
"Hahaha! Good to know I got a good one!"
She was cut off from her thought by one of their team members introducing himself. And when he went to shake her hand she made sure to give a proper grip and also reminded her that no one knows her name. Needing to fix this she picked up Bon Bon to put on her shoulder and took a few steps forward so that when she spun around to face the entirety of her team. Taking a deep breath she began to speak
"Hello there, team! My name is Valeria Sadat! Now I may not know much about Pokemon, but I will assure you that I will be a fine bodyguard for you guys that are not use to fighting!"
With that she looked at Bon Bon and held up her fist in front of him with and Bon Bon touching his paw against it and started to walk back to the group as the kid who introduced himself, Monterey started going over the list of things to buy.
"Night vision goggles? Hell yeah! That'll be so nice for what I can do! I also brought a sleeping bag, some jars and some rope. But that's about as much as I'm going to carry, I need to stay light enough if I need to jump around so either someone else will have to carry my tent or I'll just sleep under the stars. But other than that you guys can decide how we spend the money. I'm just going to spend my play money on food since I'm going to need it."

Alden Accepted the ID almost absent-mindedly, already busy working out the best way to spend that cash. Sure, he had prepared as best as he could with the resources he had.. but truth be told, that wasn't telling much. The fact was.. they needed more info to make the best decision. "How will we be reaching our destination? Will we be moving through known territory? If so, a Travel Guide for that area could be a good investment."
His thirst for new books was obviously just a secondary detail in this of course: he was absolutely just saying what he thought would be best for the group. No doubt about it. "Other than that, yes. Tents and sleeping bags - unless someone brought their own?" He was a bit embarrassed to not have something so basic himself, but after purchasing the flashlight and the rope he had to choose between a tent and 'Care and Handling for Psychic Pokémon'. The choice had been obvious.
As if using it help focus he ran light fingers across the surface of the weird egg fossil, feeling the rough surface and occasionally tapping softly. "I have a First Aid Kit, and I can share. Unless we want a spare to be sure - still, if someone can use portable growers or crafting kits of any sort and doesn't have one, I think we should supply them with these funds" Normally, you'd expect them to already have what they needed - But Arceus knew those things could get hilariously expensive, or he'd have an egg warmer with him. Too bad it wasn't exactly the sort of supply he could find an excuse to fit in this round of purchases.
"Spare jars. A lighter, maybe waterproof. An emergency repel or two. The goggles are probably the best to not disturb the local pokémon too much while exploring, but we can do with a flashlight or two." It was only after a solid minute of rambling and a couple of telekinetic pulls on his ears that he noticed something very basic he had been forgetting. "...oh. Hello everyone. I'm Alden"

To Valeria, but looking at BonBon "He is adorable, and looks like he'll be a fierce combatant, may I?" reaches out to pet the Nidaran, asking Valeria as much as BonBon.
PokéPsychologist to charm Nidaran uRw0jiXp4d6
'I don't need to pokemaniac this guy'
He continues "If you've already got a sleeping bag, that money could go to at least one pair of goggles." Responding to her concerns about tents, "I suggested two tents housing three people each. Allows us to split up if necessary, it's faster to set up, and only two people would be carrying only slightly more fabric."
Turning, "You make a good point, Alden was it?" shifting his focus to Mudfield, "Do we know what we're heading into?"4d6
