Buddy let's out an angry cry as he tackles the closest Cacnea to Celina, protecting her as best he can. Meanwhile Celina turns towards another as a light aura extends from her towards it, as she attempts to channel it. "Why are you doing this, little cactus? If you are hungry, we have food to spare. If we are trespassing we will leave immediately. Please just calm down.
If the cacti weren't going to stand down, Martel didn't want to risk them coming too close. She points one out to Lusha, and after the Elekid charges at the plant, follows up with an attack of her own.
Geier's hand snapped out of his sleeve and the crossbow was there. A single avian eye narrowed as Geier sighted down his beak and snapped off a bolt at the cactus that seemed to be at the head of the pack rushing them. "Filthy creatures..." he spat under his breath. "Not fit to linger so close to the Serpent's holy ground!"
Taking a cue from its master, the Venipede shook for a moment before spitting out a dart enveloped in a sickly purple haze.
The Cacnea that had gotten channeled stopped and made little cries to the others. The ones who got attacked and were able to move disengaged back and seemed to be holding their actions for now, the one that got channeled seemed to have spooked the others with what it had said.
A'Lincoln looked at the situation and decided that this fight wouldn't be worth continuing. Everyone had responded far faster and there was no reason for A'Lincoln to push the issue.
Taking his lance in his hands, and slinging it over his shoulder, he walked out of the circle of Cacnea. Approaching the biggest open spot in their defensive circle, and circling around back to the direction they needed to. A'Lincoln was happy with this turn of events and was glad not to fight.
As he stepped out, "Okay, We'll be leaving now."
"I'm sure you guys don't have a problem with that right?" He said with a jovial non threatening tone, "And as my companion said, here's some extra food."
Tossing his food over his shoulder onto the opposite side of the circle over his shoulder as he walked out.
"Let's get out of here guys, I'd like for us to have a talk before we start another fight." he said, "I think it's about time we continued the conversation from the temple.
A'Lincoln's gonna throw a Charm check on top of this all:ygonhhJw4d64d6

With a sinking feeling, Martel followed along behind A'Lincoln, calling for Lusha to do the same. While there was no sense in moving away from the armored giant, even if these Cacnea had calmed down... She didn't like the promise of resuming their previous discussion. Not if it was the one she was thinking of.
Celina places 6 small piles of food on the ground."Hey little guy, you can come with me if you want. It will be dangerous, I'm not going to lie, but I promise I'll take good care of you., Celina say while still channeling the Cacnea.

Gennidran already has his club pulled back and about ready to unleash another devestating blow when A'Lincoln spoke and everyone began to leave. "Wait- what?!" he seemed a bit bewildered and displeased, as he sighed and slowly swung his club onto his back and made a motion for the timburr to stop attacking and follow him.
However, he wasn't one to trust pokemon so easily, even if they weren't attack for now. He kept his eyes on them the whole time once he left the circle safely, craning his neck around to make sure they didn't try to sneak attack or follow them until they were out of view.
Oh great, A'Lincoln wanted more talking. Gennidran thought they'd left that all back at the temple, but he may have a point. He'd been too in the moment to notice- he hadn't even realized all the Cacnea suddenly backing down, that was certainly unnatural, so it must've been cause by one of their teammates. May have been nice to know ahead of time, but still- actions showed more than words in his opinion.
Geier's feathers bristled visibly, irked at the thought of leaving the cactus Pokemon alive - but perhaps it was better to conserve their strength and resources for the moment. He didn't recognize the Pokemon, but he knew their type. Opportunists, scavengers, easily cowed by a show of strength... and judging by the abundant corpses, not starving at the moment. Whatever Celina's trick was, Geier didn't want to rely on it when fighting more aggressive or desperate Pokemon. And he doubted it would work as well on human opponents.
"Master Knight, I believe Mistress Celina is giving us a suitable demonstration at the moment," Geier commented as the girl lingered behind the group, enticing one of the creatures to serve her.
[ Chosen of Yx | Siren ] "Suffer the little creatures, for they may yet rise up and beat you senseless."
Without missing a beat A'Lincoln kept walking, if Celena wanted to catch the Cacnea she could catch up after she was done.
A'Lincoln said as he was walking out responding to Geier, "It's a sutible demonstration, I just would've liked knowing that was an option, so we could save our strength for problems we can't have her do that to. Which I'm still not exactly clear what that was."

Martel didn't quite share A'Lincoln's nonchalance. As much as she wanted to stay close to the Shield, she hadn't seen such a peculiar method of persuading Pokemon, before. There was probably more to it than just what she could see, but how to figure it out if they were walking away?!
Since the other Cacnea had left, it was probably safe enough to lag behind and watch, right? She hoped so, and good idea or not, Martel stopped to observe the recruitment.
Celina will move closer and pick up the little Cacnea, smiling. That smile quickly turns to a frown when she realizes that she doesn't have any pokeballs. "Um guys...does anybody have pokeball I could borrow? I promise I'll pay you back two fold!, she says holding the little cactus.

Gennidran says nothing as he walks up to Celina, reaching into the pack on his belt and placing a poke ball in her hand. He gives her a firm nod and waits for her capture before proceeding with A'Lincoln.
"Thank you Gennidran.", Celina says as she bows, taking the ball and gently tapping it on the Cacnea's head before quickly catching up with the A'Lincoln and the rest of the group.
"So I noticed everybody's look of confusion, so I think it would be best if I explained what just happened. I'm what's known as a Channeler, at least that's what they're called in any texts I've seen about them. All my life I've had a special connection to Pokemon. To communicate with them, understand they're feelings, see what has happened to them in the past, and much more. It's a big part in why I am hesitant to harm Pokemon, even in self defense and why I don't think I could ever kill a Pokemon. I believe that any Pokemon, well almost any Pokemon, can be talked to and reasoned with. For example, these little Cacnea didn't want to hurt anybody, they were just hungry. Back in Shadrum, that is how I would pass my time, Channeling Pokemon and helping them however they needed it, usually just a bit of food and company, but occasionally it was something more. Lately I've been understanding my powers more and more. They're what got me to Deus's temple in the first place. I had run away from Shadrum, following my heart and before I knew it I was lost in The Edge. I looked around and the only thing around me, other than snow, was a little Swinub, looking for food. I made him an offer to guide me out and I'd give him food, and he took it. Buddy guided me to the edge of The Edge and while he did we bonded, and now he's my partner. I'm sorry I did not explain all of this earlier, but I did ask for a volunteer before we were rushed out into the wilderness. IF anybody has any questions I would be more than happy to answer them.
He stopped. For the first time since they'd first laid eyes on A'Lincoln opened up his visor. His face was muscle bound and tough. It had a charming handsome prince look on it with his brand of the wildrix clearly there, yet despite that it seemed to work even better with his face.
Yet despite his good looks, there was a scary anger filled look on his face.
His voice was rumbling filled with anger, you said you had determination right?"
"because what you just said makes me think your treating this like a game." he said.

"I'm sorry but, I don't understand. Earlier you said we need to work as a team and know what we are all capable of. So I explained what you saw that I could do. If you mean what I said about hurting Pokemon, it's true. All of it. But I am determined to earn my freedom, even if it means killing a Pokemon. But if I can help it, I will try to resolve a situation peacefully, that is something that will never change. I know that it won't always work but I'll be damned if I don't at least try." , Celina says looking into A'Lincoln's eyes. Her fear of him gone now that she is sure that there is a human underneath that armor.
He looked at her for a moment, he considered for a moment how to phrase it.
"I Like that you want to resolve things peacefully. I also like how you handled the fight. I especially like how you want to work as a team. What is makes me think your treating this as a game is our mission is to go kill pokemon." he said flatly.
He picked the next words carefully, "We are risking our lives to save ourselves from the end of the world. Save other people from it. With what you just said, you don't sound like your ready to do that. That if it comes down to you...."
"That we need you to make a split second decision. It's up to you to lay out the finishing blow. At best you'll hesitate, at worst you won't be able to do it. You don't seem to understand how dangerous that is."
He gazed back at her, "it might kill us. It might not. The thing though is it can. Look me in the eye and tell me, that if my life is in your hands, That if I'm working with you, I can trust you to save my life without hesitation, even if it means killing something, or someone. "
- GM of Dauntless Diamond, The Order of the Youngest Sage, Pokemon Survivor - Thieving girl Tanya Paragon in Blue Dragonite - Gym Enthusiast Sarah Felks in Adventures in Guildare
Celina looks into his eyes, thinking for a moment, and says, "You can trust me to save your life, if it comes down to it I will do what's necessary to save you, and to save everybody else here. I knew what was being asked of me since we've left the temple and I know what's being asked of me now. I know you probably doubt what I say, but actions speak louder than words and when the time comes, you'll see."
With a smile he nodded at that answer, it was one he could test later.
His previous show of anger was gone and with a Jovial tone he pointed out, "would've been more convincing without the hesitation in your response.

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Slytherclaw
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)

Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
(27 Sept 2015): "No theme to it this time, just miscellaneous changes to range from rejiggering old Classes to streamlining core mechanics to making balance adjustments."
(22 Feb 2016): "Most of our playtest packets deal with Classes or Items, so it's time we had one that dealt with the most important thing of all: Pokemon!"
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
